TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RUBBER AROUND THE REAR WINDOWS WAS MELTING. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
I HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE VEHICLES AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. I BOUGHT A 2008 FORD EDGE IN NOV 2011. BY JUNE OF 2012, I HAD WATER POURING INTO MY VEHICLE THROUGH THE DASH ONTO MY VEHICLE FLOOR. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THE CONDENSATION DRAIN WAS CLOGGED WITH LEAVES, WHICH CAUSED THE WATER TO RISE. THE WATER SHORTED OUT THE MOTOR FOR MY FAN, SO MY WHOLE MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW I AM HAVING THIS PROBLEM AGAIN. THE ONLY PEOPLE I KNOW OF WHO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE ARE FORD EDGE OWNERS. DUE TO OWNING VARIOUS MAKES AND MODELS OF VEHICLES AND NEVER EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND FROM INTERNET SEARCHING, I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT WITH THE FORD EDGE. *TR
