H20 SENSOR WHEN TURNING BUTTON TO HEAT UP CAR IT DOESNT WORK
I HAVE CHANGED MY KEY FOB 3 TIMES AND GOT A NEW BATTERY AND IT STILL SAY KEY IS NOT DETECTED. I HAVE TO GET A JOB EVERY 3 MONTHS TO GET MY CAR STARTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE MALFUNCTION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TIM SHORT CHRYSLER (LOCATED AT 270 FITZ GILBERT RD, HAZARD, KY 41701, (606) 436-2277) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
MYSELF AND MY 3 YOUNG CHILDREN WERE DRIVING DOWN A PRETTY DARK HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 10 PM. 3 HOURS FROM HOME. IN A STORM AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. WHEN I GAVE IT GAS THE ENGINE JUST REVVED. LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND POWER STEERING I QUICKLY DROPPED FROM 75 TO 40 WITH SEMIS BARRELING UP BEHIND ME AS I WAS TRYING TO GET TO A SHOULDER TO PULL OFF ON. CAR DIED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. WE WERE STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 5 HOURS WITH NO HEAT AND NO POWER TO THE CAR. EVEN CALLLED ROADSIDE AND THEY TRIED TO JUMP IT. IT WOULD START BUT THEN GO HAYWIRE AGAIN. BATTERY LIGHT AND ETC AS WELL AS ALL OTHERS LIGHTS COME ON. IT HAS LEFT ME AND MY KIDS IN THE COLD MORE THAN ONCE. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW...
LIFT GATE WIRING HARNESS BECOMES WEAK AND BRITTLE CAUSING WIRING TO FAIL. THIS WIRING FEEDS ALL LIGHTS AND FUNCTIONALITY ON THE READ LIFT GATE. DEALERS WILL REPAIR WHICH LAST A SHORT WHILE UNTIL FAILURE AGAIN.
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER 2015-2016 I HAD TO REPLACE MY RADIATOR DUE TO A SMALL CRACK THAT DEVELOPED. MY HEAT STARTED TO MALFUNCTION THE FOLLOWING WINTER 2016-2017 IT ONLY WORKED PART OF THE TIME. STARTING IN THE FALL OF 2017 MY HEAT WENT OUT COMPLETELY. WE TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE HEATER CORE, COME TO FIND OUT THAT SINCE THE HEATER CORE IS INSTALLED AT AN ANGLE IT DOESN'T DRAIN THE SLUDGE PROPERLY. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT MY AIR CONDITIONING WILL TURN ON AT RANDOM. I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THIS STARTED, BUT IT WILL TURN ON BY ITSELF. JUST THIS MORNING 8/13/18 MY AIR TURNED ON 15 TIMES, AFTER BEING SHUT OFF EVERY TIME. I'M WONDERING IF THIS IS SOMETHING WRONG ELECTRONICALLY. WHILE IN MOTION ON 7/25/18 THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING, BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, RADIO TURNED OFF, WIPERS STARTED GOING ON, AND LIGHTS DIMMED. TRIED TO RESTART AND WOULDN'T SHOWING BATTERY LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, SYMBOL WITH LIGHTNING BOLT, AND SAID IT COULD NOT DETECT KEY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DIAGNOSED WITH CODE P0622, AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED AN ALTERNATOR. REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR ON 7/28/18. ON 7/29/18, THE CAR WAS RUNNING GOOD, AFTER ABOUT A HALF HOUR THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SLOWLY STARTED TO SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION WITH MY WIFE AND CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I THEN REPLACED THE BATTERY. AFTER DRIVING 2 MILES THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV HIGH AND GO LOW, OTHER DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, THE A/C TURNED HOT AND THE CAR STARTED TO COME TO A CRAWL.

NO BRAKES, OR STEERING. I HAD 3 KIDS IN THE CAR 2 BEING TODDLERS. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND START IT AGAIN TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. AS FOR ELECTRICAL MY CAR RANDOMLY SOMETIMES JUST CHANGES RADIO STATIONS, U CONNECT DOESN'T WORK. WHEN DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY IT WORKS FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND YOU CAN NOT USE IT ANYMORE.

TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING HOME WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT I SMELT A BURN ODOR. I WAS JUST A 1/4 OF A MILE FROM HOME SO I DROVE IT HOME. UPON PARKING I NOTICED THERE WAS A SMALL SPOT UNDER MY CAR FORMING. ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER. CHECK ALL MY FLUIDS AND AND NOTHING WAS LOW. THE NEXT DAY IT STARTED AND RAN OK UNTIL IT WAS RAN FOR ABOUT 15 THEN ONCE AGAIN THE SMELL AND NOW A LOW GROWLING. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND PARKED AT A GAS STATION. I HAD A LOCAL SHOP LOOK AT MY CAR AND THEY DETERMINED MY TRANSFER CASE IS BROKEN. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR WHEN ACCELERATING IT WOULD PULL SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT WHEN IT SHIFTED GEARS. MY VEHICLE ODOMETER WOULD JUMP FROM 0 TO 30 WHILE IN MOTION(FOOT ON PEDAL) AND VICE VERSA. WIPERBLADES STARTED ALL ON IT'S ON WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON. NO CURRENT IS BEING BROUGHT TO WHOLE ENTIRE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WON'T TURN OVER OR LOCK WITHOUT BEING HOOKED TO ANOTHER BATTERY. CAN JUMP START BUT ONCE CONNECTION IS OFF THE VEHICLE SHUTS BACK OFF. WHILE DRIVING ON PUBLIC HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STALLED, STEERING LOCKED AND HAD TO COAST TO A SAFE SPOT. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. 1ST TIME MARCH 2016 MILEAGE 94470, 2ND TIME END OF OCTOBER 2016, CURRENT TIME AUGUST 2017. EACH TIME THE COMPUTER TELLS THE DEALERSHIP IT IS THE CRANK SENSOR WHICH WE REPLACE. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND MY DAUGHTER IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD SO FAR, BUT ARE AFRAID OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN AND BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE POWER ADAPTERS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE HAVE SHORTED OUT THE AUX PORT WORK THE USB AND OTHER PORTS AND LIGHTS DO NOT. ALSO THE SYNC CLIMATE CONTROL WILL UN-SYNC WITH OUT BEING TOUCHED IN THE REAR OR FRONT OF THE CAR.

WE HAD ISSUES WITH THE DIFFERENTIAL, UPDATES NEEDED AND DODGE HAS NO CLUE. BUT NOW THIS...WE HAVE A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY THAT IS ACTING VERY STRANGE. IT STARTED WITH THE HEADLIGHTS BEING ON, EVEN WHEN THEY WERE OFF (WE DO NOT HAVE AUTOMATIC LIGHTS)...THEN AFTER THE CAR WAS OFF, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF EVERY 10-30 SECONDS, WE WOULD HAVE TO UNDO THE BATTERY TO KEEP IT FROM DIEING. WE REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS SWITCH AND IT STILL DOES AND ADDED A SYMPTOM. WHEN MY HUSBAND WOULD MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS, IT WOULD UNLOCK BY ITSELF. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM WHICH HAS TO BE DONE BY DODGE. NOT SURE WHAT IT WILL DO NEXT!

THE PASSENGER SIDE WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,900.
THE UCONNECT TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM WENT BLANK AND THE UCONNECT TOUCH HAND CONTROLS ALONG WITH THE SWITCH BANK CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING. THIS MEANS NO HEAT OR AC CONTROL AND NO RADIO/VOLUME CONTROL. EVEN THOUGH THIS HAPPENED IN MID SUMMER, IF IT HAD HAPPENED IN WINTER, THERE IS NO CONTROL OF DEFROST SYSTEM AND A POTENTIAL DRIVING HAZARD. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY TELEMATICS GATEWAY MODULE AND THE WHOLE RADIO SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE IT. COST $800 TO FIX!
I PURCHASED A USED 2012 DODGE JOURNEY IN SEPTEMBER 2015 FROM LAKESHORE CHRYSLER DODGE AND JEEP OF SLIDELL, LOUISIANA. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE DRIVING OFF THE LOT. FOUND OUT AFTER PURCHASE THAT THE CAR WAS NOT INSPECTED PRIOR TO DEALERSHIP RESELLING IT. BEFORE I EVEN GOT HOME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED ISSUES. THEY DID THE OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTED THE CAR AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE IT WAS "NORMAL NOISES" HOWEVER AFTER COMPLAINING AND COMPLAINING THE WERE ABLE TO LOCATE AND FIX THE ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTING NOISES AND JOLTING. WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND RADIO AND HEATER WENT OFF. SHE TOOK IT TO OREILLYS AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALTENATOR. ON NOVEMBER 11,2015, WE WERE TRAVELING FROM HOME TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT FOR A SURGICAL PROCEDURE. WE WERE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 65, IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, GOING AROUND 70 MPH WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED, ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON, AND VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. WE WERE IN THE RIGHT LANE AND ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY AND AVOID BEING HIT. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD IT. DRIVING TYPICALLY LESS THAN 25 MPH AND CAR SHUTS DOWN. WHICH MAKES ME HAVE TO BRAKE, PLACE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND START AGAIN THEN SWITCH TO DRIVE.
