The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted and had become more frequent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Please see attached, and advise if you need additional information. As you will see, I've tried to contact someone on multiple occasions in regards to this issue. And as of yet, I have had NO response.
The SUV has consistent problems with the water pump , thermostat and radiator. They have been changed and replaced more than 3 times in a year. Also the brakes are acting funny
My vehicle tends to overheat quite often. The water pump I've had to change five times within the past 5 years The radiator and patch change up three times and the thermostat I've had to change out three times. There's also the transmission shifting gears issue and get stuck on low and I can't move the vehicle.
My 2013 Durango with 124,000 miles has a check engine light on, that indicates cylinder 4 miss fire. The Airpark Dodge service department where I purchased the vehicle has done a diagnostic evaluation and determined that the left cylinder head needs replacing. That falls within the X56 engine left cylinder head extended warranty for some VIN # vehicles, but not mine. The estimated repair is over $5000.00. I am told that the engine can cease up while driving, and that I should not be driving the vehicle. I think my vehicle should be included, especially since this X56 warranty extension has been out since 2014. How do I get this X56 warranty on my vehicle? And how do I get reimbursed for the cost of the repair?
The engine in my vehicle stalls without warning while driving, which poses a significant safety risk, particularly on busy roadways where it could lead to accidents, endangering both myself and other drivers. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed in the past by a certified Dodge dealership auto shop, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. However, the vehicle or its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Before the engine stalls, the electronic throttle control lamp flashes, the vehicle gives a noticeable jerk, and then the engine shuts down. This problem occurs at any speed but has not happened when the vehicle is at a full stop.
Took my vehicle to 1 dealership to get fixed they said they couldn’t do it because my vehicle was too old and wouldn’t be able to find parts. Took my vehicle to 2 mechanics shops that said they could fix it. Insisted I need a wire harness AFTER completing other work they thought would fix it. My daughter came to visit and I told her what was going on. She began to look through wire diagrams of the vehicle and noticed the TIPM being a common factor in the systems that were effected. She took my VIN and noticed a recall that has not been addressed. While driving down the road, my vehicle will completely shut off and shut down. Sometimes, emphasis on the sometimes, I can push my key into the ignition a bit more and it will start back up. I lose all function and control of my vehicle. My dash lights and exterior lights completely shut off. I can't steer my car and it comes to a complete stop within seconds because everything locks up. I have had this happen more times than I can even count. It has happened in the middle of me turning at an intersection and has almost caused a collision. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at 80 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. Additionally, the electric throttle control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the fuel pump system was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.
Vehicle has been having issues starting, acts like the fob is not in ignition. Vehicle has locked key in ignition and won't release it. Most dangerous concern is vehicle will completely shut down while driving, regardless of speed, and will not restart until completely stopped and put in park. Most recent occurrence was on interstate 80, 73 MPH on 12/23/2022. Everything except for hazards and radio shuts off and goes black. No warning lights, no codes tracked, just completely fails. Cannot use turn signal, brakes, power steering, nothing. Starting issues started about 12 months ago. Completely shutting down while driving started about 7 months ago. Issue is intermittent and does not show a pattern.
The oil filter cooling housing is leaking oil onto the engine. The housing is poorly designed. It’s plastic. So therefore it can evidently catch fire on the housing and cause combustion. It does make the car smell like it’s running hot or it smells like Burt motor oil. Everything we have read says his is a poor design by Chrysler bc they tried to cut corners. The newer models for the housing is aluminum that will better withstand the heat. I think this should be a recalled event.
At 40 mph and more vehicle stalls and shake intermittent stalls, stumble. vehicle do not cut off. but stumble real bad. it's really bad in overdrive. 2 or more people in it.

My 2012 Dodge Durango was serviced under NHTSA Campaign 19-V813. This called for the replacement of the fuel pump relay to correct a potential no-start or stall situation. This also prevented fuel pump failure due to the unit not being switched off by the TIPM when the car is turned off. This repair has not corrected the problem. The car would be available for inspection upon request. The safety of the occupants could be at risk. The problem is intermittent and has not been able to be duplicated at the dealer. There are no warning lamps or codes that can be read. The car will crank over for an extended period of time but will not start. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the driver’s side cylinder to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. hello I have got my truck off dealership like 6 months ago and my transmission is down I have to pay out of pocket also my head rest Popped out and hit my head
check engine light came on at 110,000 miles Cylinder #5 misfire cam shaft and lifter completely destroyed engine had to be replaced $8,000 !!
Was out running errands and returned home. Pulled in garage and vehicle smelled hot, like on fire. Went to start vehicle back up and remove from garage incase of fire. The vehicle would NOT start. Took vehicle to local repairman. I was informed the alternator caught on fire. If this would of happened on the road, I could have been in a bad accident. Also because my vehicle was parked in the garage, there could of been the possibility of my house and vehicle catching on fire if it would have been worse. My Durango is currently at a independent auto repair shop. The new alternator has been ordered but there is concern that the computer might be destroyed also. The only person to inspect the vehicle would be my auto repairman. Unfortunately, there was absolutely NO warning lamps prior to the alternator burning up.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2013 DODGE DURANGO FOR THE SUV TO SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE RECALL WAS SAID TO BE FIXED BUT SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD IT SHUT OFF AT LEAST 4 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. YOU LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CAR; NO BRAKES, NO STEERING...NOTHING! THIS HAS HELPED ON A FLAT SURFACE AND ON A HILL.
CAR RANDOMLY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING, NO WARNINGS. SHUT OFF COULD NOT STEER AS STEERING WHILE LOCKED UP & COULD NOT BRAKE AS BRAKE PAD WAS HARD AND LOCKED UP AS WELL. GOT IT TO THE SIDE OF ROAD, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP BUT SHUT OFF AGAIN NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES LATER. MY DURANGO STALLS WHEN I'M DRIVING AND RESTARTS ON ITS OWN. I HAD THE FUEL PUMP RELAY CHANGED ALREADY WHICH I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE DODGE DOESN'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART. MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL WITH OUT NOTICE AND AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A WEEK. THE CAR NEVER STALLED WHEN THE DROVE IT AROUND A FEW TIMES. THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT STOPS AT ANY MOMENT AND YOU LOSE COMPLETE POWER. AT ANYTIME YOU COULD CRASH WITHOUT NOTICE.

LIFTER AND CAMSHAFT FAILED ON 3.6 V6 ENGINES. HAS BECOME A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2011-2015 DODGES THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX AND ALSO POSES A SAFETY CONCERN IF ENGINE FAILS WHILE DRIVING.
MY DURANGO STARTED TO SPURTER AROUND 30 MPH AND AGAIN AT AROUND 50 MPH. IT ALSO SEEM TO NOT HAVE TO POWER TO GET THE DURANGO TO GET UP AND GO IT SEEM TO LAG AND NOT HAVE THE POWER. I AM NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR THE RECALL PARTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. AAA TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTERY DEPLETED, ALTERNATOR WAS DEFECTIVE, POSITIVE TERMINAL WAS SHORTED DIRECTLY TO GROUND, TOTAL INTEGRATED MODULE AND POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE WERE BURNED. THE MECHANIC FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN BUT IT DID NOT APPLY TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,618.

ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER (MAYBE LESS), AS I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A TOWN ROAD DOING 30MPH THE CAR SHUT OFF. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STILL WORKED AS THE RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONING WERE ON. THIS ENGINE (V6 PENTASTAR 3.6) IS TAPPING. IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM AMONG CHRYSLER JEEP AND DODGE. CHRYSLER STATES THAT THE ENGINE LIFTS AND ROCKERS ARE CULPRIT AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE ON SOME CHRYSLER AND JEEP MODELS WITH THIS SAME ENGINE BUT DODGE WILL NOT REPAIR OR COMPENSATE FOR THE FAULTY PARTS ON THIS ENGINE BY THE MAKER. THIS IS A FLAW IN THE ENGINE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY MAKER AND NOT PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER. SINCE THIS PROBLEM HAS STARTED I NOTICED THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL AND IT'S NOT AS POWERFUL AS IT ONCE WAS. 3.6L PENTASTAR ENGINE IS TICKING, FROM PERSONAL RESEARCH OF THE NOISE I'VE FOUND MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS ENGINE HAVE EXPERIENCED IT. PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD IT FIXED SAY ITS ROCKER ARM BEARING FAILING. IT OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, BE IT AT IDLE OR THROUGHOUT THE REV RANGE, UNDER LOAD OR STATIONARY.

IN SEPTEMBER 2019 AFTER MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING ERRATICALLY, I TOOK MY 2013 DODGE DURANGO INTO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD A FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THE TIME I ASKED IF THEY ALL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS TOLD NOT NECESSARILY THAT THEY COULD LAST FOR SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. IN DECEMBER 2019, AFTER EXPERIENCING SOME OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS I TOOK MY DURANGO BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD ONE MORE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND, THIS TIME THE SHOP RECOMMENDED THAT I REPLACE THE OTHER FIVE (5) INJECTORS. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND WAS CHASED DOWN BY ANOTHER MOTORIST WHO INFORMED HER THAT FLAMES WERE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT QUICKLY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHE AND THE PASSENGER EXITED SAFELY. THE CONTACT NOTICED FIRE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. AC CONDENSER/ TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER FAILED AT 49,000 MILES CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK OUT ON RIGHT UPPER SIDE CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO NOT SHIFT DURING DRIVING OPERATION. LOOSING CONTROL OF ACCELERATION IN THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A STRONG DOWN SHIFT CAUSING A STALL ON A MAIN HIGHWAY.

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GINN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (5190 US-278, COVINGTON, GA 30014, (770) 679-2202) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL FILTER WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED....
I WAS DRIVING AND BRAKING FOR A STOP SIGN AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JOLT. I PULLED IN TO THE GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN. I WENT TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD TURN OVER BUT WOULD NOT START. I TRIED AGAIN LATER THAT NIGHT, AND IT STARTED AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CONTACTED THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THE FINAL DECISION WAS THAT THE REPAIR WAS THE CONTACT'S OBLIGATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS MY DURANGO HAS BEEN SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING LATEST INCIDENT 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE HAS RESTARTED EACH TIME SO FAR. I LOOKED UP A RECALL 15V115000, 14V-530. THESE BOTH STATE THEY ARE NOT FOR MY VEHICLE BY VIN, HOWEVER BY YEAR IT IS.
THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING A FEW TIMES. HAD TO START IT BACK UP. ONCE, IT SHUT OFF THEN TURNED RIGHT BACK ON. NO LIGHTS ON, WARNINGS NOTHING.

ENGINE MADE TICKING NOISE WHEN RUNNING ON EVERY SURFACE. PROBLEM DIAGNOSED AS ROCKER FAILURE. THE CONSUMER STATED BOTH RIGHT SIDE CAM SHAFTS AND ALL ROCKER ARMS WERE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED THE COST OF REPAIRS UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. *JS
MY VEHICLE IS RUNNING PROPERLY AFTER WRONG RECALL WAS PUT IN ON AUGUST 1 2019 WHICH WAS THE PCM AND ON AUGUST 2 2019 THEY PUT IN THE ACCURATE RECALL AN ALTERNATOR THAT WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING STARTED SMOKING ON AUG 27 2019 WENT BACK ON AUG 23 WHEN BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT WASN'T BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR BUT PCM ONE SERVICE MANAGER SAW ERROR AND ENDED UP CALLING CORPORATE TO GET FIXED GOT TRUCK BACK ON AUG 30 TO HAVE AN HOUR LATER SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON HAD TO BRING TRUCK BACK ON AUG 31 TO FIND OUT ITS THE CATALYST MESSED UP AND ALSO CUSTOMER INFORMATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A NEW OWNER NOT ME MY VEHICLE ISN'T RUNNING GOOD AT ALL I TRULY NEED HELP PLEASE
