THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED ON 7/21/14 FOR P36 P14, THE SECOND RECALL WAS RECEIVED ON APPROX. 11/10/14 FOR P54/NHTSA 14V-530, AND THE THIRD RECALL WAS RECEIVED ON 112/19/14 FOR P14/NHTSA 14V-154. EACH TIME I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE I CONTACTED SOUTH HILLS CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY DODGE SERVICE AND THE RECALLS FIXED. EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE PARTS IN STOCK AND THAT THERE WERE 400 PEOPLE ON THE WAITING LIST IN FRONT OF ME AND THEY COULD GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON WHEN THEY COULD FIX MY VEHICLE. ON 12/22/14 I CONTACTED THREE RIVERS JEEP DODGE AND THEY IMMEDIATELY SCHEDULED ME FOR A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR 12/23/14 AND INDICATED THE PARTS FOR P36 P14 AND P 14/NHTSA 14V-154 WERE READILY AVAILABLE BY ALL...

CLAIM WAS MADE TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER MULTIPLE FAILED START. THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED CAR AND CONFIRMED THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO PART RECALL P54/NHTSA 14V-530. THE DEALERSHIP STATES TEMPORARY PART COSTS 1100.00 SINCE THERE ISN'T A REMEDY PART AVAILABLE. DEALERSHIP IS LOOKING INTO ASSISTING WITH COSTS HOWEVER WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR A TEMPORARY PART THAT IS THE SAME PART THAT IS ON THE VEHICLE AND STILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE REMEDY PART TO BE AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING HEARD LOW MOANING SOUND, 5 MINUTES LATER (STILL DRIVING) BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. I DECIDED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO AUTO PARTS STORE BECAUSE IT WAS LATE AFTERNOON (~7:45PM) TO SEE IF MY NEED WAS A BATTERY. I ASKED TECHNICIAN TO COME AND SEE IF IT WAS MY BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR, AS I OPENED VEHICLE DOOR TO POP THE HOOD, THE SUV WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE. THE TECHS SCURRIED TO OPEN THE HOOD AND WAIVED SMOKE IN ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE BATTERY CABLE TO DISCONNECT POWER. I WAS RUSHING TO GET CHILD OUT OF CAR, BECAUSE SMOKE WAS BELLOWING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. AFTER TECHNICIAN REMOVED THE POWER CABLE FROM THE STUD UNDER THE HOOD, THE FIRE AND SMOKE FROM THE ALTERNATOR SLOWED AND EVENTUALLY WENT OUT. I CALLED INSURANCE COMPANY AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER. HAD I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE FOR THE NIGHT AND...

USUALLY WILL START AFTER TRYING FOR ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A FAULTY TIPM. CHRSYLER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OF NO HELP. THEY HAVE ISSUED A RECALL BUT HAVE NO PARTS AVAILABLE AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! THIS HAS NOW BECOME A VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE AND CHRSYLER/DODGE SEEMS TO BE IN NO HURRY TO COME UP WITH A REMEDY FOR ITS CLIENTS. *TR

WE ARE GETTING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WHICH IS THEN FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF POWER. YOU CAN PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. YOU CAN BE IN THE LEFT LANE WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND NOW YOU HAVE TO PULL OFF TO THE LEFT OR STRUGGLE TO MANEUVER TO THE RIGHT. IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE ON THE ON-RAMP TO HIGHWAYS AND LIMITED THE VEHICLE TO 20-30 MPH CAUSING RIGHT LANE TRAFFIC TO SLAM THEIR BRAKES OR SWERVE AROUND US. OVER THE PAST 2 WEEKS OUR DURANGO HAS HAD ISSUES WITH STARTING. WHEN USING THE PUSH START BUTTON THE ENGINE WILL CRANK OVER MULTIPLE TIMES AND NEVER START. VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD START WITH USE OF IGNITION BUTTON, THEN VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WITH OUT WARNING. AT THIS TIME VEHICLE WILL NOT RE-START WITH USE OF IGNITION BUTTON. VEHICLE WOULD JUST ENGAGE STARTER MOTOR AND NOT FIRE ENGINE WITH USE OF IGNITION BUTTON. STARTER WOULD RUN ON UNTIL BUTTON IS PUSHED TO ENGAGE THE OFF POSITION, WITH A NO START CONDITION. AFTER SEVERAL CYCLES OF THE IGNITION BUTTON VEHICLE ENGINE WILL FINALLY START AND STAY RUNNING. PROBLEM IS RECURRING OFTEN.THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY VEHICLE AND THE SAFETY OF ITS OCCUPANTS.
