The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will lose all power while driving. I have had it back to the Dealer for this Problem. I got a Recall for this in April. I took it in to the Dealer to do. They told me that Chrysler does not have a fix for this yet. Within 400 miles after that it done it again while my wife was driving and caused a crash.

I was driving my child to daycare on my way to work one morning. I pulled into an intersection and my vehicle just stopped as if the engine had died with no warning signs, sounds or even symbols on the dash. I stepped on the gas and couldn’t get it to move all while I had cars coming at me from both sides. We purchased a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 05/01/2021 and it now has(28,245 miles on it) and the van unexpectedly shut off the engine three times. It is now at the dealership and after two weeks they are not sure what is wrong. It might be the transmission the signal we get is pull over to safe area the engine will shut off shortly about 5 minute. This occurred on the freeway in West Virginia, a country road in North Carolina and a local road in Ohio. We we were blessed that we were able to pull over but in a very dangerous section on highway. There was a recall that was supposed to take care the issue but didn't. I opened a case with Chrysler and have not been provided a vehicle to use.

The charging system is shutting down my vehicle while driving in high speed heavy traffic. I was traveling with my grandchildren and my dog and my vehicle stopped in 90+ degree weather in the middle of no where. Once it ran again I got it to a charging station so I could continue my travels. The check engine light went away and we were traveling home when the charging system shut us down again doing 65 mph on the interstate about 30 miles from any town with no cell service. The 03A recall has now been performed on our vehicle, and we are not sure if we will pick it up to drive again or not. We are not sure if we trust it. Hybrid system faults have happened three times, this is the best of my memory. April 2022 I had noticed the battery wasn't really being used driving regular routes & made a service appointment. Before the appt we saw a Hybrid System Fault. The dealership in (Town Y) could see the fault, but thought it was a false alarm. They did the prescribed fix for the false alarm, but the fault was still there so they did a repair of some kind. On 3/27/2023, while driving 75mph down the PA turnpike, our 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid lost power unexpectedly. Fortunately, my wife and kids were not in the car, as it was frightening to have the engine shutoff while driving in the left lane of a narrow highway that had a small shoulder. I was in the left lane of a 2 lane highway, I placed my turn signal on to try and coast into the right lane and then over to the right shoulder. Between March 1, 2023 and April 6, 2023, the engine experienced unexpected shutdown on 4 different days. On April 7, 2023, a dealer in Madison, WI serviced the car under recall notice 03A. On April 17, 2023, the car's dash presented a warning message "Stop Safely: Vehicle will shut off soon." On all occasions I have waited 30 seconds and restarted the car successfully. This behavior of the car is unacceptable. It is likely that I will be driving in a situation where it will not be safe to shut down the car, come to a stop, and restart it while driving in traffic.

Several times over the last 2 weeks, our 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has been subject to the engine shutdown for which there is a recall. As Chrysler is aware of, when using the gas engine, the engine shut down on us while driving. Having already applied the software update that is the current "solution" to this problem, we did receive a warning that an engine shutdown was about to occur and that we should pull over. However, this didn't give us much peace of mind and all situations have still been very scary, especially with kids onboard. While driving above referenced vehicle, I was driving southbound on Hwy 515 when i noticed a vehicle driving northbound began to lose control, so i slowed down and then began to watch the vehicle cross the median and headed straight for me. I pushed the pedal to the floor to accelerate to get out of his way but the vehicle did not respond, i pushed the pedal again on several occasions and the vehicle just bucked and did not accelerate. Unfortunately the vehicle hit me right in the door at a high rate of speed. The engine has a known recall for failure. The "fix" was adding a warning to the dashboard to let me know it's about to happen. Respectfully, that is not a fix. That is a bandaid on a gaping wound. As a single mom of tow, one being special needs, it is absolutely terrifying to know that my vehicle can stop at anytime and cause a crash. Giving me a few seconds to try and pull over is not acceptable and doesn't keep my family safe.

We were coming down a mountain from Flagstaff to Phoenix at night in heavy, fast traffic when my engine just died. No power, no power steering, no power assisted brakes. Total emergency. The engine stopped abruptly on an interstate. We were required to slow from 75 mph and pull off on the side of the road immediately. The transmission changed to what felt like first gear before we were adequately slowed down, grinding and making a lot of noise. This happened on 3 separate occasions before the dealership could figure out the problem. If we had been in a situation where we couldn’t have pulled off the road immediately, it would have been much more dangerous. The engine stops and will not let you accelerate. The dealership is now replacing the transmission and I am hopeful that will work. I believe it is related to the most recent recall, but the “fix” is not a safe fix and a true fix needs to be figured out immediately to prevent injuries or loss of lives on the road. I was driving on the highway ~57mph and the dash flashed warnings "Service Charging Station", and then I lost control of the accelerator pedal. It seems like the engine stalled, and I could no longer use the gas pedal. I coasted off the highway, then restarted the engine by turning it off/on. Chrysler issued a safety notice to me last week via mail, which informed me that my vehicle may stop at any time without warning. This is a serious safety and accessibility issue for me, as this is my family's sole vehicle. There is no ETA for when or if a repair will be available. I have ceased using the vehicle on any highway and keep speeds under 40 mph for safety reasons, but am incredibly scared to do so and have gotten no support from Chrysler. The dealership offered no assistance. The recall hotline informed me verbatim that "there is no plan nor expected plan to provide a loaner, rental, or other compensation to those affected by this recall" on a call on 3.10.23. Nothing has happened to our car...yet. I've contacted Chrysler because my wife and I feel unsafe traveling at highway speeds in a car that, by their own admission, could simply stop functioning at any time and with no warning. This seems, you know, unsafe. Until this situation is resolved we will not travel on a highway which means we have essentially purchased a very expensive golf cart.

when slowing to make a turn the vehicle turned off and engaged the parking brake on its own. I had to disengage the parking brake before starting the vehicle again. Traveling at 60mph up a large hill/mtn in passing lane and car went into limp mode or lost power from engine. Was unable to push gas for power and had to maneuver through 60mph traffic to shoulder by the time I was able to make it to the shoulder I was not able to get all the way off of road because of no more momentum. I was unable to turn off vehicle for quite some time until I used key fob and remote state option on key fob which then allowed me to turn off vehicle. Losing all power at 60 mph while passing was terrifying and could have caused serious bodily harm.

I have a 2021 hybrid Pacifica purchased in May 2021. I have been experiencing loss of engine power for months. I brought it to service in January, they said they fixed a recall and changed the oil, said I was good to go. The problem started happening more frequently after that, and on 2/7 my vehicle lost power 7 times while driving roughly 20 miles. These instances occurred at highway speeds with immediate loss of drivability requiring me to coast to the shoulder. I brought it to service on 2/8. On my drive to the dealership the car shut off 5 times. After the tech assessed my vehicle, they replaced the electric coolant heater and said although there is no fix available for the recall yet, the battery is affected by the coolant heater and so it should be 100% good to go now. On December 7, 2022 I brought my Pacifica into the dealership because the day prior, my vehicle just shut off unexpectedly while driving. I was unable to get it to turn back on it just gave me a “service charging system” message on the dash. I had my vehicle towed home and it wasn’t until the following day 12/7/22 that I was able to finally start it back up. I drove straight to my local dealer and dropped it off. After a few weeks they told me they were going to replace the hybrid battery as that was the issue. On 1/20/23 I received a message from the dealer stating they had my vehicle back together and running and we’re going to fix a recall issue. The car lost all motive power on 3 separate occasions on Saturday, Feb 4, 2023. The car is currently at the dealership and we've been told the transmission needs to be replaced. Our family's safety was put at risk as well as the drivers around us. We easily could have be rear ended when when we were on the freeway and lost the ability to accelerate. When we lost power each time we had to navigate to the side of the freeway or exit to avoid being hit by another driver. 11/14/2022: WHILE DRIVING at 75mph, a battery icon appeared in the hybrid info system on left of dash. Immediately after the engine icon appeared, a message that said "shift to P to Start" appeared in the the dash info. The letter "D" along with a red icon of a charging cord also appeared to the bottom left of the electric range readout. ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE CUT OUT WHILE MOVING AT 75mph simultaneous to these images/messages appearing. I was traveling at about 60 MPH on a four lane highway in Jan of 2023 when I suddenly lost all engine power. The dashboard reported a charging system error and the "D" indicator was flashing along with check engine light. I was able to get to the side of the road. I was able to restart after shutting all the way down and opening my door. I was able to get home after. The next day trying to get to the dealership it happen two more time. Each time going around 60 MPH. The check engine light was on and the dealership was able to get some errors codes. This vehicle was an buy back for this same reason. Multiple occurrences have happened where I am driving the car on the freeway when the SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM code comes on and the vehicle stalls. My 2021 Pacifica PHEV has 16,200 miles on it at time of incident on 10/31/2022. I had just pulled off the highway to get gas when the issue began. I received a “service electrical system” on the dash and a check engine light and I had to turn off and back on to get it to restart. Same issue as the existing complaint PE22008 on 10/24/2022, South-bound I-95 in Maryland, driving around 65-70 MPH. The van completely stopped excelling. Luckily I had enough speed/inertia to cross the 2-3 lanes to pull-off onto the shoulder. I put the car in PARK and then turned the car in off and then on again, was able to continue driving afterwards. Dashboard screen read "Service charging system" which seems odd because if it is an issue with Hybrid system, the gas engine should kick-in. This happened again 3 hours later. While traveling in the #1 lane at 65mph on the freeway, the engine suddenly lost power and I had to coast to the far right lane amid traffic to enter the emergency stopping area. This has happened 4 times in the last few weeks. The dashboard display says there is a charging system problem. I am able to restart the car after stopping completely and opening the driver's door. Our 2021 Pacifica Hybrid with less than 21k miles on it lost all propulsion/motive power; this happened while I was driving on a freeway just seconds before going onto an overpass at freeway speeds to change freeways. Driving uphill on an overpass at freeway speeds with our kids in the car was very dangerous (especially during weekday traffic in Orange County) but, fortunately, we coasted to a stop safely. The vehicle's other systems seemed to still be working. For example, the vehicle's dashboard was working. On Saturday 9.3.22, while driving at approximately 40mph, my Chrysler Pacifica lost all power and slowed to a stop (I turned on my hazards immediately and pulled over to the shoulder). Based on the light traffic around me I was able to safety move accross two lanes even without the aid of power steering. Was driving the vehicle when it completely died. The “service hybrid electric vehicle system” warning came on the dash and could not get it to go into drive again. Completely dead in the water and could not move. I can’t imagine if I was going down the freeway and this happened. Very lucky to have it on a quiet road. The contact owns a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that whenever hybrid battery power was low, the vehicle was supposed to shift to using fuel; however, the vehicle would stall. The contact would pull over to the side of the road and start the vehicle after several attempts. The failure was intermittent and occurred at various speeds. The service charging system and check engine warning lights would be illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure reoccurred several weeks later. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer suggested that the transmission should be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.

The Pacifica has 4 times in the past 9 months has lost power while driving at a high speed on the Interstate. I am still able to steer and guide the car to the shoulder, then wait 2 minutes and the car starts back up and I am able to drive again. I then have the check engine light on, and the code I get is P0A3F. It has been to Chrysler Service 3 times, and they can't repeat the issue, and claim they don't have the man power or expertise to figure it out. Once the car loses power, the messages I get say to "return car to park", "Service Charge System", and the Chrysler Uconnect App says I have a "service fault". My wife and I were driving on HWY 101 at 11pm at night while camping, were headed to the ER as I had just cut my hand with a hachet. Luckily, I was able to move to the shoulder and stop the van. The Pacifica remained on with all systems working (radio, lights, etc), but the car accelerator would not deliver power. The car would not fully turn off after pressing the ingintion button. Opening and closing the driver side door allowed for the van to be turned off and then back on, it started again and was driveable. We were able to drive the car to the ER and back to the campsite. The problem has not yet re-occurred....
