I took my car to Carman Dodge Chrylser Dealer located 196 s Dupont hwy , new castle de, 19720. My car was scheduled for a recall repair u90 and power train software update. I took my car in 4-10-25 and it stayed overnight until 4-11-25. When receiving my car I was presented with new issues that caused a no bus code and radio died. My car had no internal issues prior to taking my car to the dealer for recall repairs. I have all the documentation and employees names for the service department. I was told by my advisor Lance Grey and supervisor Joseph Troboletti that there is nothing else they can do. Other than these new problems that occurred just so happened to be coincidental. The transmission jumped into neutral while going 65mph also indicating “service park brake” and “service transmission”. The vehicle slowing down almost caused another vehicle to rear end me as I was looking for a safe place to try and pull over. No one has inspected properly these vehicles despite numerous customer complaints of the same nature. The car had no lights on but afterwards the power train light came on.

Car is stalling for unknown reason without any warning or light appearing on dash. Feeling unsafe especially when driving on the highway because I never know when it will happen. Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.
About 2 weeks ago , my car began malfunctioning and randomly shutting off while driving. The car gives no indication that there is an issue before hand which is dangerous. It has happened to me while entering the freeway and while on regular streets. In addition, when this happens, my gearshift somehow gets stuck which makes me unable to move the car. Sometimes I cannot turn the car off, it would get stuck running. The shift would malfunction illuminating other shifts even though it is stuck. This issue has happened to me again in the wee hours of this morning at 3am on a dark road. I feared for me life… I see that this is an ongoing issue in many complaints that I see but there has been no resolve from the manufacturer. Please help.
The Chrysler 200's engine keeps suddenly shutting off while driving, mainly while making turns on streets and freeway on/off ramps. There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem. Sometimes the vehicle may just stall, most other times it just turns off and asks that I switch the shifter to park to then turn the vehicle back on. This issue is very concerning as it’s dangerous for the vehicle to shut down in traffic and could prove fatal.
WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE VECHICLE WILL REV HIGH AND NOT PICK UP SPEED. IT WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR AS I AM DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2016. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING STARTED, THE CAR ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FLICKERS UNCONTROLLABLY. AS I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH AND SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, THE ENGINE DIED OUT. LOCKING MY BRAKES AND MY STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IT OCCURRED WHILE I'M ON THE FREEWAY OR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION.

ADDITIONALLY, THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000.
SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO REPAIR ISSUE WITH ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION ON VEHICLE. RANDOMLY THE VEHICLE WILL HESITATE TO ACCELERATE FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. ENGINE, MOTOR MOUNTS AND TRANSMISSION HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND ISSUE REMAINS. VEHICLE WILL ALSO HESITATE TO START CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO TRY AGAIN TO START THE VEHICLE. BATTERY HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL LOSE POWER. DASHBOARD SAYS TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, WHICH IT IS ALREADY IN DRIVE BECAUSE I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND BEGAN TO PANIC BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY 'FIXED' THE ISSUE. SHORTLY AFTER, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN IN TRAFFIC AND TOOK A WHILE TO RESTART. EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF. I AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY 'FIXED' THE ISSUE. HERE WE ARE JUST LAST WEEK, 08/15/2020 AND I'M DRIVING ON A MAJOR THRU WAY AND THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING UP A HILL WHILE DRIVING TO WORK . THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT OFF WHILE OTHER CARS WERE BEHIND ME . THIS HAPPEN AT LEAST THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING TO WORK BEFORE I DECIDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK UP . DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT DECIDED TO GIVE ME A TUNE UP AFTER PAYING 600 DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM . SEVERAL MONTHS LATER I CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. LATER ON CHRYSLER SERVICE TOLD ME MY ENGINE WAS SHOT DUE TO ANTI FREEZE IN THE ENGINE OIL COMPARTMENT . NOW I HAVE NO CAR AND A 6600.00 DOLLAR MAINTENANCE QUOTE TO GET A NEW ENGINE .
I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT I NEED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS DUE TO JERKINESS IN CAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR SHUTTING OFF AT LIGHTS, OR ANY DRIVING SITUATION WHERE I MAY BE AT STANDSTILL WAITING TO PROCEED. EX: TRAFFIC CLEARING OR WAITING FOR PARKING SPACE. AT TIMES IT TAKE 3-4 TRIES BEFORE IT RESTARTS AND THERE IS NO WARNING THAT IT IS GOING TO CUT OFF. LASTLY, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INSIDE CAR ARE UNSTABLE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF, THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION FOR PHONE ISN'T ALWAYS RELIABLE. OVERALL I AM DISAPPOINTED AND WISH I WAS IN POSITION TO TRADE IT IN. CAR HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING LAST FEW WEEKS. IT HAPPENED. AS SOON AS I TURNED ONTO A ROAD, GOING 20-30 MPH, IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY. THE CAR JUST STALLS, SAYS "PLACE IN P TO START" AND THEN DIES. THE GEARSHIFT AND WHEEL LOCK UP AND YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART. EACH TIME I HAD TO TRY AT LEAST 3 TIMES TO GET THE CAR RESTARTED. ALL LIGHTS COME ON DASH, BATTERY LIGHT INCLUDED, BUT HAD BATTERY CHECKED AND IT IS FINE. TRYING TO RESTART, IT DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SEVERAL CARS BEHIND ME AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALSHIP BUT, ALL THEY TOLD ME TO DO WAS TRACK MY OIL CHANGES BUT, THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS.

THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE AFTER THE COMPUTER UPDATE AND BEGIN HAPPENING MORE AND MORE OFTEN. GIVES ME A "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" MESSAGE. IT'S ONLY AT 67,000 MILES AND I HAVENT OWNED IT A YEAR. VERY FRUSTRATED. IT IS GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW!
2016 CHRYSLER 200 S WITH 94,000 MILES SHIFTS HARD BETWEEN GEARS, OFTEN FEELING/SOUNDING LIKE IT IS SLAMMING INTO GEAR. IT SURGES WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS AND BUCKS AND JERKS DURING RAPID ACCELERATION.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL CHANGE GEAR UNEXPECTEDLY. CAUSE MY CAR TO JERK SHAKE AND UNUSUAL LONG DELAY TO ACCELERATE AT TIMES EVEN REV HIGH WHILE PROLONGED DELAY BEFORE ACCELERATING. THIS HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE SITUATIONS THAT MADE THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE UNPREDICTABLE AND A HAZARD FOR ME AND OTHER MOTORIST.
MY 2016 CHRYSLER 200 STALLS RANDOMLY IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM OCEAN CITY, MD WHEN I HIT TRAFFIC AT THE BAY BRIDGE. I WAS TRYING TO SWITCH LANES WHEN I NOTICED MY POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING FOLLOWED BY A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN STATING TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT WAS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. HAPPENED A SECOND TIME IN A SIMILAR SITUATION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATING WHAT IS HAPPENING.
STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT 20 MINS, ONCE I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. I COULD NOT LOCATE THE EMERGENCY RELEASE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL. CAR SAT IN THE INTERSECTION GOT 1.5 HOURS.
MY CAR SUDDENLY TURNED OFF AS I WAS MAKING A TURN. I HAVE FIXED THE CAR 2 TIMES FROM THE SAME THING AND THIS WILL BE THE 3RD. I WANT TO SEE IF THERE'S SOMETHING ASSOCIATED WITH A RECALL ABOUT THE COMPUTER MODULE. IT STALLS TO TURN ON, AND WHEN IT DOES IT WON'T GO AS FAR AS A MILE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED, BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED; HOWEVER, "PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK" WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO RICHARDSON CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (1321 N CENTRAL EXPY, RICHARDSON, TX 75080, (214) 329-0862) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,550.
THIS EVENING WHEN DRIVING MY CAR THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND CUT OFF A NUMBER OF THREE TIMES WITHIN A 10 MINUTE SPAN. ONCE WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF MY JOB, SECOND WHEN COMING TO A FULL STOP AT THE PARKING LOT ENTRANCE AND LAST AS I WAS BEGINING THE MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM AN ON RAMP. THE DAY PRIOR THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES AT VARIOUS POINTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. MY VEHICLE IS REGULARLY MAINTAINED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE BRAND NEW. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHT OR INDICATORS THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. THE ONLY NOTIFICATION WAS TO "SHIFT CAR TO PARK TO START ENGINE". MY CHRYSLER 200 STARTED SHIFTING REALLY HARD AND AS YOU'RE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN FEEL IT JERKING. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THAT IS LOCAL TO ME TOOK IT IN THEY ONLY DROVE AT 3 MILES AND DECIDED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT EXCEPT FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I PAID $132 FOR A LABOR CHARGE FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT NEVER FIX THE PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK 2 DAYS LATER THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT WITH SPARK PLUG ISSUES. PAID $160 FOR SPARK PLUGS AND LABOR JUST TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY STILL AFTER A WEEK LATER HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. JUST WONDERING WHAT KIND OF TECHNICIANS ACTUALLY WORK FOR CHRYSLER.

THE CAR BEGAN SHIFTING HARD AND HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THAT ISSUE. THEY COMPLETED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. TODAY, 09-20-2018, THE CAR WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY WHEN TAKING OFF AND STOPPED MOVING. IT WAS THE SHIFTED TO PARK AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TO DRIVE. IT WAS THEN SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED AND THEN SHIFTED IN TO DRIVE. IT NOW SHAKES VIOLENTLY EVERY TIME WHEN TAKING OFF. IT IS SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME. THERE IS ABOUT 42,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE OTHER ISSUES OCCURRED WITHIN THE LAST MONTH.
AS I WAS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 20 MPH WITH THE CAR IN DRIVE (D), THE CAR DISPLAYED A MESSAGE AS SEEN IN THE PHOTO THAT STATES SHIFT TO PARK (P) TO START. AS, THAT MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKES LOCK UP WHILE THE CAR IS SLOWING DOWN SO YOU CANNOT SHIFT THE CAR TO PARK UNTIL THE CAR HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ONCE THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP, I SHIFTED MY CAR BACK TO PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. THE CAR WOULDN'T RESTART RIGHT AWAY. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WOULD MAKE A NOISE AS IF IT WERE TRYING TO START WITH THE RPM'S FLUCTUATING TO ABOUT 3 (3000 RPMS) THEN GO BACK TO 0 THEN JUMP TO 1 (1000 RPMS) THEN BACK TO 0 RPMS WHERE THE ENGINE WOULD GIVE OUT. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE, WHILE...
TRANSMISSION IS ROUGH AND UNPREDICTABLE. EACH SHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT IS FELT IN THE THROTTLE(FEELS LIKE ENGINE BRAKING). TRANSMISSION OFTEN CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE UNINTENTIONALLY. SHIFTING GEARS SEEMS TO TAKE LONGER THAN IT SHOULD. TRANSMISSION WON'T DOWNSHIFT SOMETIMES WHEN APPROPRIATE THROTTLE IS GIVEN. BRAKING IS JERKY DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION ROUGH DOWN SHIFTING. CITY DRIVING IN THIS CAR IS UNCOMFORTABLE AND DANGEROUS DUE TO ALL THE ISSUES LISTED ABOVE.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SWITCHING GEARS HARD LIKE IT IS SKIPPING A GEAR. SEEMS LIKE IT IS DOING IT BETWEEN 1 & 3 OR DECELERATING 3 TO 1. IT IS WORSE DURING WINTER MONTHS. THE JERK CAN BE SO HARD SOMETIMES.
I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN, I WAS AT ABOUT 15MPH WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED AND THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED OUT OF GEAR AS I CAME TO A SKIDDING HALT. SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND SERVICE PARKING BRAKE MESSAGES CAME UP ON THE DASH. THEN WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEARS EVEN WITH THE TRANSMISSION OVERRIDE PULLED. LUCKILY I WAS ON A QUIETER ROAD IN MY TOWN.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING CAUSING YOU TO STOP, PLACE IN PARK AND RESTART. UPON TRYING TO RESTART IT STRUGGLES TO TURN OVER. SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WITH THE CAR HAS SAT FOR AWHILE AND IS COLD. THE TEMP GAUGE SHOWS NOTHING ON IT. I KNOW THE CAR WILL STALL. IF THERE IS A LINE OR MORE ON THE TEMP GAUGE ON THE DASHBOARD IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO NOT SHIFTING FROM GEAR TO GEAR PROPERLY. IT SEEMS TO NOT CATCH WHEN IT SHOULD GO TO THE NEXT GEAR. THE CAR WILL JERK.

WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LURCH FORWARD. THE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED. THERE WAS BODY A RIM DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
