While driving, my 2016 Chrysler 200 (3.6L V6) experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure. All systems shut down simultaneously, including the dashboard, engine, power steering assist, and electrical accessories. The vehicle coasted to a stop and would not restart—no crank, no dash lights, no response. After allowing the vehicle to cool for approximately 30–45 minutes, electrical power returned and the vehicle restarted normally. This failure mode is identical to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) connector defect that resulted in a recall for the 2015 Chrysler 200. My vehicle is the same platform with the same component architecture, yet no recall exists for the 2016 model year. This is a serious safety defect that creates a risk of crash, loss of steering assist, and loss of vehicle control while driving.
UNKNOWN- I was driving and it was storming bad, I accidentally drove through this road that was flooded and my car then said throttle control and my car started to not drive as well then when I took a turn my car stopped and it would not move. I turned it off and it started going again, then when I was going up a hill while I trying to turn my car would not move, the vehicle stability indicator turned out and so many more signs, so then I tried to turn my car off again and it was stuck in drive and would not turn off, I wasn’t able to move the gears it was locked on drive but not moving so I had to disconnect my battery and then it started moving again, not safely but I made it home. Please what do I do
Vehicle has 46,000 miles on odometer. A year ago the "Service Airbag System" light would intermittently illuminate. It is now staying lit all the time. I was speaking with an acquaintance as they had the same vehicle. Theirs caught on fire under the seat in the electrical connection box for the airbag. I took it to a few of our local mechanics and they say it is a substantial safety issue as they pulled the codes B0028-13 and B0020-13. Right side and left side seat deployment squib circuit open. The airbags will not deploy upon impact. The consensus from the mechanics was that Chrysler has known this is a common problem in these vehicles and needs to address the repair. After calling Chrysler and finding out they do know this is a problem in design it will still cost $4000.00 to repair as it's not covered under warranty. This vehicle...

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and occurred at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was no longer drivable. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or an independent mechanic. I took my car to Carman Dodge Chrylser Dealer located 196 s Dupont hwy , new castle de, 19720. My car was scheduled for a recall repair u90 and power train software update. I took my car in 4-10-25 and it stayed overnight until 4-11-25. When receiving my car I was presented with new issues that caused a no bus code and radio died. My car had no internal issues prior to taking my car to the dealer for recall repairs. I have all the documentation and employees names for the service department. The transmission jumped into neutral while going 65mph also indicating “service park brake” and “service transmission”. The vehicle slowing down almost caused another vehicle to rear end me as I was looking for a safe place to try and pull over. No one has inspected properly these vehicles despite numerous customer complaints of the same nature. The car had no lights on but afterwards the power train light came on.

My vehicle Chrysler 200 2016 has several car mechanical issues. The shifting gears. Rough shifting while driving.The affected vehicle would lurch through gears, and it would sometimes shut down or automatically shift to neutral. Grinding or a crunching sound. Clutch slips or doesn't “feel right” Burning smell or high engine revs. Car started rough, shifting and having transmission problems a year after we had it. Airbag sensor won’t turn off.
I believe the brake or something related to the brakes failed. I ran a stop sign, with no evidence of brake marks on the road. I crossed over a highway hit a side walk almost hit a house. The safety of myself and others was at extreme danger. When finally came to a stop I couldn't put my car in Park, or back in drive or shut my car off, i beleive i had no braking or something electrical failed. My car is totaled. The only light on was the airbag light before the accident.
Throttle- My car just shut off and won't turn back on I had a computer update last week and then a week later i shut the car off like normal and tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't do nothing. The Dealership did a pcm update of service bulletin 18-020-17 on 6-1-23. I had drove for 2.5hrs without any warning lights or anything suggesting a problem.
While backing up in my parking space, my car completly shut off. The steering was locked and the car would not start back up. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to restart

Electrical system under the seats smoked and went out for the air bags. Cost me $2,200 dollars out of pocket. I am on Social Security. Can't afford such dept. Brakes are sluggish and can't be trusted to stop quickly. Power Train ,Electrical System,Engine not safe. Electrical system, Service Brakes, Forward Collision Avoidance System needs to be looked at and replace if needed.
My car stalls when cranking and has shut down before while on the interstate. I think it’s an electrical problem no signs on the dashboard and saying key fob not detected
Car is stalling for unknown reason without any warning or light appearing on dash. Feeling unsafe especially when driving on the highway because I never know when it will happen. Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.
Wire connector under the passenger seat disables the airbag and turns on the SRS light with the code B0028-13 Right side Airbag circuit open. I have noticed that FCA is aware of the problem as the fix is to replace the wire Connectors under the seat. As an alignment mechanic I am in and out of a lot of vehicles and just about all of the 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200s I have worked on have this code, some also have B0020-13 which is the left side seat air bag circuit open.
Driving and the car just completely shuts off and/or malfunctions. It’s been when I’m slowing down to make a turn. The computer system/car shuts off and it’s impossible to get it turned back on for 1-4 minutes. Very dangerous and almost gotten into an accident twice now.
About 2 weeks ago , my car began malfunctioning and randomly shutting off while driving. The car gives no indication that there is an issue before hand which is dangerous. It has happened to me while entering the freeway and while on regular streets. In addition, when this happens, my gearshift somehow gets stuck which makes me unable to move the car. Sometimes I cannot turn the car off, it would get stuck running. The shift would malfunction illuminating other shifts even though it is stuck. This issue has happened to me again in the wee hours of this morning at 3am on a dark road. I feared for me life… I see that this is an ongoing issue in many complaints that I see but there has been no resolve from the manufacturer. Please help.
Airbag light has came on with dealership replacing the wiring harness under the seat twice. The light is now on for a third time. After online forum research, I learned that wiggling the wiring connections can get the connection back and airbag light to go away. It worked. Numerous complaints of loose wiring. Purchased the vehicle brand new currently with 125k miles. First repair was free. Second was out of warranty and I had to pay for parts.
The Chrysler 200's engine keeps suddenly shutting off while driving, mainly while making turns on streets and freeway on/off ramps. There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem. Sometimes the vehicle may just stall, most other times it just turns off and asks that I switch the shifter to park to then turn the vehicle back on. This issue is very concerning as it’s dangerous for the vehicle to shut down in traffic and could prove fatal.

The airbag light comes on constantly, it puts MYSELF or anyone who is in my car at risk. It says to check the airbag and the wiring under the seat is the problem. It's loose. I constantly have to wiggle it for it to go away and a dealership wants to charge 300 dollars for a diagnosis and repair. If I crash, I feel as if the airbag will not deploy and it seems a lot of people online have the same issue when googling the problems.
My car gave me a service airbag message when I started it on July 31st. I already had an appointment scheduled with a Chrysler dealer to resolve an unrelated recall issue, so I asked them to look into what was causing the airbag issue, as well. They told me that the jumper wiring needed to be replaced on both sides of the vehicle in order to resolve diagnostic code B0020-13. They quoted me over $2,800.00 to fix the issue and told me that my airbags would not go off if I were to get in an accident unless the repairs were made. I am unable to afford this, so I contacted FHA customer service to seek cost assistance, but was told my car is too far out of warranty. 3 ongoing problems. 1. Our car dies while driving. This is Dangerous. Tonight is the 3rd (maybe 4th) time in about a year or year and a half or so. The first two times modesto jeep dodge chrysler determined it was too low on oil (but the mileage was much less than when oil change was due according to my oil change sticker. Also very dangerous because there is never an oil light that comes on the dashboard to warn oil low. About 3 months ago it died 500 miles before oil change supposed to be due. Tonight it died again with no warning. Oil change is not supposed to be due for another 1000 miles. Very scary. No warning light. 2. My service airbag light comes on and off frequently. sometimes it'll be on when i start my car, and the it'll turn off again when i make a turn, adjust my seat, etc. its a strong belief that im having the underseat wire harness issue that many others are having. i have yet to take it to a mechanic to have it looked at as i don't readily have the money to repair an issue, especially considering I've seen a few people say they have this issue addressed repeatedly. this is a major safety concern and i fear if i happen to get into an accident that my airbag will not deploy because of it.

MY CAR WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MY KEY FOB. ALL THE LIGHTS IN MY CAR WILL LIGHT UP ON THE INSIDE BUT IT WILL NOT UNLOCK. IF I UNLOCK IT WITH THE ACTUAL KEY IN THE DOOR, THE ALARM WILL GO OFF. YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO CUT OFF ON YOU WHILE YOUR DRIVING DUE TO THE AIR NOT BEING FILTERED TO THE ENGINE. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THIS FAST.

I BOUGHT MY CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2019 AROUND 25000 MILES. IN OCTOBER THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON . I TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER AND JEEP WHO CHARGED OVER $3300 TO FIX . THEY SAID THEY TALKED TO CHRYSLER WHO WOULD COVER $3000 AND I HAD TO PAY THE $300. I DID THAT AND THE LIGHT IS BACK ON. IT POPS UP EVER COUPLE MINUTES WHILE I'M DRIVING AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I'M GOING 15 MPH OR 60 MPH.

CAR INITIALLY SET ALL DASH LIGHTS OFF, ONE FRONT AND ONE REAR LED LIGHT REMAINED ON EVEN AFTER KEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND NEVER WENT OUT LEADING TO DEAD BATTERY. THE CAR DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING IT ABOUT 20MPH AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT ONTO ROADWAY CAUSING NEAR ACCIDENT. BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR LAST 3 WEEKS WHILE TRYING TO GET DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. ERROR THROTTLE CONTROL SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC
WHEN DECELERATING AT EITHER A RED LIGHT OR TO TURN, CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNINGS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. THIS STARTED ALMOST A MONTH AGO. THEN TODAY EVERYTHING LOCKED UP. ALL ELECTRICAL LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THERE WAS NO POWER WHEN TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOWED.
THE CAR HAS TO MUCH TORQUE THAT THE VEHICLE SLIDES AND LOSES CONTROL AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE STEERING IS TO LOSE WHEN I TURN IT MOVES TO QUICK AND THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE CAN'T CATCH UP.
VEHICLE WENT IN FOR AN AIRBAG LIGHT TWICE RIGHT BEFORE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 75K MILES. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO HAVE REPLACED A WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT BOTH TIMES. JUST SLIGHTLY OVER 75K MILES, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY ADVISED THE WHOLE WIRING SYSTEM NEEDS REPLACED AND THAT IT WON'T BE COVERED. GOT IN TOUCH WITH CHRYSLER DIRECTLY WHO STATED THEY ARE WILLING TO ONLY PAY FOR THE $1200+ PART BUT THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR APPROXIMATELY $400 IN LABOR. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON. TYPICALLY WHEN ENCOUNTERING A SLIGHT BUMP ON THE INTERSTATE. AS I WAS DRIVING I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING ONE OF MY CHILDREN BEGAN TO COUGH AS I LOOKED BACK AT HIM AND THEN OUT THE WINDSHIELD AGAIN I SEEN SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AREA SO I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE RODE AND GOT BOTH OF MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE CAR AS WE MOVED AWAY FROM THE CAR THE SMOKE BEGAN TO GET THICKER AND THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENED WAS MY CAR WAS UP IN FLAMES. NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON THE TEMPERATURE OF THE CAR WAS NORMAL NO ALARMS GOING OFF ON CAR BEFORE OR WHILE CAR WAS SMOKING. I WAS ON A CITY STREET
MY 200 VEHICLE SHOWED AN AIR BAG LIGHT 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, ABOUT MAY, 2016. THEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED SO I IGNORED IT. THE OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER AFTER MAY, 2016 DATE FAILED TO ADDRESS THE LIGHT. IT REMAINS ON TO THIS DATE. REPAIR ON TIRE THAT SHOWED A LIGHT WAS REFUSED ON JUNE 7, 2017. THIS TIRE LIGHT REMAINS A PROBLEM. NOW, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO UPHILL WITHOUT STALLING AND WILL NOT RUN WHEN IT RAINS. THE FUEL SEEMS TO BE BLOCKED BECAUSE I KEEP PUMPING THE GAS TO GO UPHILL AFTER IT STALLS. THE CAR CUTS OFF WHEN I MAKE LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS. NOW, I WARM THE VEHICLE FOR 10 MINUTES TO SHOW THE ENGINE IS READY. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. I FAILED EMISSION TESTING IN SEPT. 2019. THE TUNE UP DONE THIS MONTH DID NOT...
CAR HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING LAST FEW MORNINGS. IT HAPPENED IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT EACH MORNING. AS SOON AS I TURNED ONTO A ROAD, GOING 20-30 MPH, THE CAR JUST STALLS, SAYS "PLACE IN P TO START" AND THEN DIES. THE GEARSHIFT AND WHEEL LOCK UP AND YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART. EACH TIME I HAD TO TRY AT LEAST 3 TIMES TO GET THE CAR RESTARTED. ALL LIGHTS COME ON DASH, BATTERY LIGHT INCLUDED, BUT HAD BATTERY CHECKED AND IT IS FINE. TRYING TO RESTART, IT DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SEVERAL CARS BEHIND ME AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF IT. TAKING INTO DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO. AFTER READING OTHER STORIES VERY SIMILAR TO MINE, I'M NOT VERY HOPEFUL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH AND SLOWING DOWN AROUND A CORNER, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEACON'S CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (835 SOM CENTER RD, MAYFIELD, OH 44143, (440) 442-0424) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE RUNNING AND TELLS ME TO SWITCH TO PARK. THE STEERING WHEEL AND BREAKS LOCK UP. THIS HAPPENS MID DRIVE OR WHEN I TURN A CORNER AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON MY 2015 CHRYSLER 200 AND NOW I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2016 CHRYSLER. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE.
