I took my car into King Chevrolet last year around August. The car was overheating and the fan was running almost all the time. When they ran the diagnoses which I was charged 100 dollars for, they told me I had a loose plug. About 1 month after that, it started doing it again. I called the service department and was told I should get rid of the car as they are not that good of a vehicle by the service tech. I found the thermostat was broken and replaced it. It helped for a while then I noticed the check engine light and it was code p0420 which stated it was a bad catalytic converter. I noticed a recall in 2018 by GM, recall # 16186. The hose that carries the coolant constantly pops off and leaks coolant. I had it fixed in 2019 at a dealership when it first happened. It started happening again last year and it will over heat. A light in my car comes on saying things are shutting down in order to cool the vehicle. I cant afford to keep fixing it. I don't know why it keeps happening.

The car suddenly lacked power and was making a strange noise. The oil level suddenly dropped. Then the engine light came on. We took the car to the dealer. And a few days later we received a letter from Chevrolet about extending the warranty on the PCV valve due to failure. We contacted our personal service person who confirmed that was inline with the PCV failure. We then took it to the Chevrolet dealer who said it would cost 9k to repair despite it being a known issue. This could have resulted in an accident if we had not caught it.

My 2014 Cruze has 55600 miles and started to make a ticking noise oil was checked no problem however there was no antifreeze/coolant so I added it. Less than a week later again I had NO antifreeze/coolant I saw that Chevy had a recall on some 2013 & 2014 chevy cruze’s head gasket. My VIN isn’t coming up. I feel after babying my car and servicing her religiously that the issue is the responsibility of the manufacturer.
My engine is making whistling sounds, the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV), is failing. This is causing my check engine light to flicker on and off. The diagnostic codes report that the turbo seal may be cracked due to this issue above.

We have discovered a known issue with the pistons cracking. Seems this issue has impacted a huge number of people. We are now left with an unuseable vehicle that requires 8k in repairs. There are tons of articles and complaints about this issue. Chevrolet must repair or reimburse all those that have been impacted.
I have a code p0420 code and engine light keeps comeback on I had the catalytic converter replaced, and everything inspected by Friendship Chevrolet in Forestcity NC 28043. Kept my car for two weeks and still couldn’t find the problem of this p0420 code so my engine light stays on.

When they pulled over they noticed that there was smoke coming through the vents of the vehicle. Vehicle overheated, oil and coolant mixing in. The mentioned vehicle may stall on the road causing traffic hazard to its occupants, and the driving public around it. The engine oil is visibly mixing in with the engine coolant at this point. The temperature gage showed higher than normal level, then steam/smoke came out of the engine compartment as oil and coolant spew out of the closed coolant tank.

HEAD GASKET BLOWN LOSING COOLANT
THIS HAS OCCUR MORE THAN A HANDFUL OF TIMES. THIS IS THE MOST RECENT ONE, I STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION TURNED OFF MY CAR AND WHEN I WENT TO START IT NOTHING WAS WORKING NO LIGHTS, NO POWER ANYWHERE. I WIGGLED THE BATTERY CABLE AND IT CAME BACK ON BUT, I HAD TO TURN THE KEY ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IT TO FINALLY START. AS I'M LEAVING THE GAS STATION I TURN TO THE LEFT AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING NONE WHATSOEVER. THEN IT CAME BACK SECONDS LATER I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AND THE WHEEL JERKED ON ITS ON AND IT SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING AND ONCE AGAIN I HAD NO POWER STEERING. IT WENT OFF MOMENTS LATER. WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION IT LOST ALL POWER AGAIN.
I REPLACED THE ENGINE ALREADY WITHIN AN YEAR OF HAVING IT AND NOW MY TURBO BLEW AND MY HEAD GASKET BLEW AS WELL

WHILE IDLING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I NOTICE THE "ENGINE OVERHEATED - IDLE ENGINE" CAME ON. THIS HAS HAPPEN ON A NUMEROUS OF OCCASIONS. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED BUT EVERYTHING WORKS FINE. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK NOW. THERE HAS TO BE A RECALL FOR BECAUSE I'VE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER CHEVY CRUZE OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENING TO THEM.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GATES CHEVY WORLD (636 W MCKINLEY AVE, MISHAWAKA, IN 46545, (574) 256-3000) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT LEARNED OF A TSB FOR SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT (14371B). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SPECIAL COVERAGE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 55,000.*DT*JB
THE VALVE PAN COVER & GASKET KEEPS LEAKING OIL EVEN AFTER BEING REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR A YEAR AGO & WAS TOLD NOTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? I CANT KEEP FIXING THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS RATHER EXPENSIVE.
FAULTY TURBOCHARGER, MULTIPLE OWNERS THAT I SPOKE TO HAVE REPLACED THEIR TURBOCHARGER TWICE ONLY TO KNOW THAT IT KEEPS FAILING. THE TURBOCHARGER RUINED MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACE DU TO A CRACK IN THE TURBOCHARGER.
THE CAR IS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE LT THAT WAS JUST PURCHASED FROM A USED CAR DEALER AND WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK THE ENGINE RETARDS ITSELF AND THROWS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE CODE READS P0325 WHEN READ. THE WIRING HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT AND HAS NOTHING WRONG. THE KNOCK SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. AFTER BEING REPLACED, THE CODE WILL GO AWAY ANYWHERE FROM A FEW MINUTES TO A MONTH AND THEN THE SAME ISSUE STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN.
OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS, I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRING. THE ENGINE OVERHEATS AND A MESSAGE THAT READS "A/C OFF HIGH ENGINE TEMP" APPEARS. THE HOSE WAS REPLACED, AND IT WAS OK FOR AWHILE, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED TWICE MORE. THE ENGINE GASKET COVER HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL, AND LOOKS LIKE IT IS LEAKING AGAIN, AND OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS RANDOMLY, A MESSAGE WILL APPEAR THAT STATES TO SERVICE STABILTRAK. I'VE HAD A COIL PACK REPLACED AND THE MESSAGE WENT AWAY, BUT REAPPEARS EVERY NOW AND THEN, AND UPON START UP OF CAR MOST DAYS, RUNS VERY ROUGH AND I HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE BEFORE PUTTING INTO GEAR. THE OVERHEATING AND ROUGH ENGINE PROBLEMS KEEP REOCURRING NO MATTER WHAT WORK I HAVE DONE TO IT. MOST RECENT ISSUES WITH THE AC OFF AGAIN, AS OF TODAY, 12/8/2020.
VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF DRIVING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE OR SLOWING DOWN, THIS OCCURS ON HIGHWAY, AT STOPLIGHTS, DRIVE THROUGH, AND CITY STREETS WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ECM HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT STILL EXPERIENCE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS WELL. THIS IS BASICALLY A DEATH TRAP VEHICLE. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO SOLUTION.
THE CAR WILL BE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR A STOP SIGN, THE CAR WILL BE IDLING FOR SECONDS START SHUDDERING THEN STALL OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL TURN ON. WE THEN HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF WITH THE KEY, CYCLE IT THEN TURN THE CAR BACK ON.
SEEMS TO BANG INTO GEAR WHEN DRIVING/PICKING UP SPEED. ACTS LIKE ENGINE STUMBLE. HAD PCV VALVE REPLACED UNDER RECALL DUE TO SQUEEKING NOISE. VEHICLE STARTED MAKING SAME NOISE AGAIN AND DOESNT SHIFT CORRECTLY. MECHANIC ADVISED OF INCORRECT CRANK CASE PSI DUE TO PCV VALVE PROBLEM. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 27,000 MILES AND SHOULDNT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

THE VALVE COVER KEEPS BLOWING. THEN IT STARTS LEAKING OIL. WHEN IT BLOWS YOU CAN NOT USE THE AIR BECAUSE IT WILL DECREASE THE POWER IN THE CAR. THERE IS NO ACCELERATION WHEN THIS HAPPENS ALSO. I HAVE HAD THIS REPLACED 3 TIMES ALREADY AND IT JUST BLEW AGAIN. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED. I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 3 YEARS AND THIS IS THE 4TH TIME WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS COSTS ANYWHERE FROM $450 AND UP DEPENDING ON WHERE IT IS FIXED. UNACCEPTABLE. THE VALVE COVER GASKET BLOWS WHILE DRIVING. YOU NOTICE A CHANGE IN CAR POWER AND LACK OF ACCELERATION. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HURD AUTO MALL - CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 1705 HARTFORD AVE, JOHNSTON, RI 02919, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND SERVICED THE WIRING HARNESS. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT RECENTLY THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT WILL COME ON AND TURN BACK OFF AND FLASH 'SERVICE AIRBAG' MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT IN MY CAR TWICE IN THE PAST YEAR AND I HAVE TO REPLACE IT AGAIN.
COMMON ISSUE WHERE AN UNDERBOOST EVEN HAPPENS DUE TO CRACK IN TURBO OR FAILED WASTEGATE, WHEN ON HIGHWAY CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN SUDDENLY UNABLE TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ALSO NEGATIBE BATTERY CABLE HAS COMMON ISSUE WHICH REDUCES VOLTAGE PASS THROUGH CAUSING TRACTION CONTROL AND STABIL-TRACK ISSUES WHICH CAN CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
I HAVE A WATER PUMP LEAK I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY KEEP ADDING WATER SO MY VEHICLE WON'T RUN HOT AND MY OXYGEN SENSORS ARE BAD IT DOESN'T IN MOTION AND STATIONARY
THIS CAR HAS MANY PROBLEMS. I AM SURPRISED IT HAS NO RECALLS. THE PROBLEMS START TWO YEARS AGO. THE VALVE COVER STARTED LEAKING. OIL WAS EVERYWHERE. GOT THAT REPLACED BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. APPARENTLY THE PCV VALVE IS BUILT INTO THE VALVE COVER. WE ARE ABOUT TO BE ON OUR 4TH VALVE COVER. IT'S CURRENTLY INOPERABLE. THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE WHOLE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS CAR IS A MONEY PIT, AND ANYONE WHO HAS EVER BOUGHT IT SHOULD BE REFUNDED FOR REAL. IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP AND HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS, AND CAUSES NOTHING BUT STRESS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY EVER AGAIN.
THE ENGINE WAS ACTING UP. IT FELT LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING THE GAS TO SHIFT GEARS. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED THE KNOCK SENSOR AND DID A TUNE UP. THE ISSUE CONTINUED SO WE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK AGAIN. WE WAS TOLD THE PISTON MELTED AND PUT A HOLE IN THE BLOCK. WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW, HAVE TAKEN IT FOR ALL REPAIRS AND OIL CHANGES, THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 90,000 MILES. WE ARE BEING TOLD THESE CARS HAVE THESE ISSUES AND TO JOIN IN A LAWSUIT BECAUSE THE MOTOR NEEDS REPLACED.
CAR IS NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY. THIS MAKES FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS IN AREAS WITH HIGH SPEED LIMITS SUCH AS THE HIGHWAY.
HAD TO CHANGE DEF RESERVOIR AND ENGINE OIL PSI SOLENOID VALVE AND MY SIDE SERIVCE ALERT IN BROKEN TOO AND AT 26000 MILES I ASK FOR NEW CAR BECAUSE I HAD 7 REPLACEMENT PART PUT ON CAR I WAS DEINED NEW CAR
NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG. I'VE FIXED THINGS ALREADY LIKE MASS FLOW SENSOR, AIR FILTER, MOTOR MOUNTS A VALVE LEAK. CARS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE MECHANICS FOR MONTHS. CARS ENGINE SHUT OFF 2-3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR!!!!!. ANOTHER TIME IT TURNED OFF RIGHT AFTER I STARTED IT UP. THE CAR IS UNSAFE!!!!!! I'VE HAD IT HAD 2-3 DIFFERENT MECHANICS. AND THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP. THE CAR NEVER TURNS OFF FOR ANYONE BUT ME. THIS PAST WEEKEND I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PICK UP MY CAR FROM ONE SHOP TO TAKE TO ANOTHER AND IT WOULDN'T START. THIS SHOP HAD THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND A HALF AND IT NEVER TURNED OFF UNTIL I WENT TO PICK IT UP. NOW THEY STILL CAN'T FIND WHAT'S CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I'VE SPENT 2 GRAND IN LABOR AND TOWS IN JUST THE LAST 3-4 MONTHS. I CAN'T KEEP DOING...
MESSAGE "A/C OFF, ENGINE TOO HOT" AND FAN RUNNING LIKE CRAZY. QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH TELLS ME THIS IS A POPULAR PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. MOST SUGGESTIONS SAID IT WOULD BE A SENSOR. CHANGING THE SENSOR WORKED FOR 3 DAYS BEFORE PROBLEM CAME BACK. JUST 6 MONTHS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING FOR AN OVERHEATING ISSUE AS WELL.
FAULTY PARTS HAVE CAUSED ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE, SUCH AS CONSTANT ENGINE TICKING, AND SQUEAKING WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND BELOW 1300RPM. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS I BELIEVE ARE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO HAVE POWER LOSS AND ULTIMATELY MAKE THIS VEHICLE LESS POWERFUL AND BECOME UNDEPENDABLE. I BOUGHT THE CAR TWO YEARS AGO AND TIMING BELT HAS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
INTAKE MANIFOLD COVER AND GASKET HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE ALREADY ONCE AT 30000 AND ONCE AT 65000 MILES. PART FAILURE PRODUCES A LOUD SCREAMING NOISE AND RESTRICTS AIR INTAKE INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING VERY ROUGH IDLING AND LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. A RECALL FOR THIS PART WAS ISSUED ON SIMILAR MODELS, BUT NOT FOR THE CRUZE ECO. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THE ECO MODELS. *TR

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

A MESSAGE DISPLAYED WHICH STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITION WAS OFF DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURE. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO KLIK LEWIS LOCATED AT (720 E MAIN ST, PALMYRA, PA 17078, 717-838-1353) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK STARTED TO MELT WHICH CAUSED THE HOSES TO BE FUSED TO THE TANK AND CAUSED THE SENSOR TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
