I have a well cared for, garaged 2007 Tacoma. It had a recall for a known frame corrosion issue. I had it inspected by Toyota and they chose not to replace the frame, choosing instead to apply a CRC spray in 2016. I have learned that my vehicle was sprayed by a formula that was later known to Toyota to harbor water and accelerate rusting. My vehicle has just failed state inspection and was identified to have a cracked frame in two places. Both left and right sides of the frame, behind the cab, and directly across from one another. The fact that Toyota now chooses not to honor any warranties, or provide consumer help, (I just spoke with their "Brand Engagement Center"), when I am the recipient of 2 known and compounding failures seems a dereliction of responsibility. I have a vehicle that should have a lot of service...
My 2007 Toyota Tacoma has an open recall on the rear leaf springs due to the risk of fuel tank puncture and fire. However, Toyota and their authorized dealership are unable to perform this safety recall because the vehicle’s frame is too severely rusted. The dealership informed me that attempting the repair could further damage the vehicle, and they requested I sign a waiver releasing Toyota of liability if harm occurs during the recall process. They also informed me that replacement frames are no longer available, so the recall cannot be completed as I was interested to pay for this to get the recall safely completed This leaves me with a vehicle that presents a known, life-threatening safety hazard, which Toyota cannot resolve. The frame corrosion is due to a previously acknowledged defect for which Toyota offered limited-time frame replacements that expired before I owned the vehicle. I believe Toyota...
Purchased my 2 tacoma in 11/24 second party learned of leaf spring tested and failed sent me home in rent a car demanding it back 2 min upon my arrival home due to the frame was damaged. Said they put it up on lift but didn't it was too dangerous. Had to he my vehicle out of their shop Saturday morning without the fix. Driving it off the lot from toyota Pittsfield Massachusetts. Called another toyota she sees in 16 it was inspected with recall but never fixed. I know if a pervious owner was aware who wouldn't get a fix for free? It came from an auction, a.dealership according to history. With no reports of it ever being fixed. I believe from much research this is the second recall for leaf springs. It was never explained to be except via text that it was terrible w insulation shoved in...
The frame has been rusting real bad and seen other Tacomas same year and style have the recall. Especially rusting where the running boards were attached too
Despite dealer treatment of the frame in 2014 and an inspection in 2017 the frame rusted through and snapped where the bed meets the cab.
These vehicles have frame rot. It was addressed in cold weather states with a recall but the recall was not available in California. My vehicle was a california only truck. The corrosion if undressed will result in the frame breaking in half behind the rear left passenger seat. Toyota should have included all states in this recall and there are an abundance of toyotas manufactured from 2005 to 2010 on the road with this issue that are ticking time bombs. My vehicle only has 145K miles on it.
Over the years, Toyota has had to issue numerous recalls for their Toyota Tacomas and frame replacements/maintenance required by Toyota due to rust and corrosion. However, Toyota chose not to replace all frames, instead decided to "treat" the issue with underspray. My Toyota, like many others, has received the recalled Toyota undercoat spray to prevent rust and corrosion on a frame with known issues (once in 2015, another in 2019). I have just received a phonecall from my mechanic that my frame is now unsafe to drive and needs to be fixed or replaced. However, Toyota has claimed they have no guarantee on the vehicle and it isn't there problem because it is outside of the timeframe. However...this car DID participate in their recall 2x. And the recall and work done did not solve the problem or the recalled part: The frame that his crippled by corrosion and rust due...
My Tacoma has a frame rust issue. I have been told that Toyota did a "voluntary recall" and replaced rusty frames under warranty but that program has ended. This is terrible because it wasn't in an official NHTSA recall, so a Carfax says nothing of 5his issue. I contacted Toyota and they are unwilling to do anything. I have been told that my frame can break in half while driving When reading about this issue, it seems like Toyota did not replace all frames. Instead, there was some way based on the state you lived in as to if you could get a frame replaced. My truck was titled in California. Can someone please help me to get Toyota to repurchase the vehicle from me, allow me to trade it in on a new truck, or replace the frame in the same way they had done so in the past?...
Frame corrosion safety card never been reported to us by mail, I stop by the dealer and they say is expired the recall. I reported to toyota springfield VA. they say this recall is close back in 2019 and they not be able to fixed. corrosion is extremely serious!
I bought this tacoma last year to someone who don’t do the chasis recall and I like to know if any possible way to do it. this chasis it’s in a very bad condition let me know what I can do thanks
Frame is massively rusted and is hazardous. Need full replacement.
As part of the Tacoma Frame Replacement program (ZH6 and H0F), I brought my Tacoma to my Toyota dealer. They deemed my frame to NOT qualify for the replacement and lazily applied corrosion resistant spray to the rust on the frame that quickly flaked off. As soon as the program ended, the frame deteriorated quickly. There are 3 spots on the frame where my hand can slide through near the front of the frame on both the driver side and the passenger side. I have removed about 5 pounds of frame/rust from the interior of the frame and the exterior of the frame. I have contacted Toyota several times and been told that there are no appeals or anything I can do except pay for a new frame out of pocket, sell, or try to repair.
We bought the truck used in 2021 when it had 114,000 mi. Looked great, drives great. Now our mechanic tells us there are rust spots all over the frame — and that there is a recall. I looked into the recall and the window closed last year. Is it legal for Toyota to stop a recall when it is such a big safety issue? Buyers of used cars need to know about this site to check for recalls. I think very few people know about this app.
Yesterday, 7/27/2022, I had my 2007 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab at my mechanic's shop for a minor issue. While on the lift he noticed significant rust on the frame rails. He brought me over and showed me extensive areas where the metal was completely rusted through. I have never seen anything like this on even the oldest of vehicles. Subsequently I did a search online and found that this was a known issue for many years of Tacoma truck frames, but I was never notified by Toyota or anyone including the local Toyota dealer where I have had services done. I cannot believe a company as well established as Toyota would allow such a potentially serious problem to go unaddressed. Toyota should be held responsible for selling defective and dangerous vehicles and be required to effect repairs as soon as possible completely at their cost. (see article below) https://www.vehiclehistory.com/articles/toyota-tacoma-most-years-are-reliable-but-some-2005-2010-models-struggle-with-rusty-frames-faulty-leaf-springs
Crack on the frame.
The entire chassis is rusted underneath. This vehicle is only 14 years old and the brake lines are completely rusted, the rear bumper cross arm that holds the frame from side to side is rusted. Multiple parts under the rear are having to be replaced due to the rust!
I was totally aware of the recall for these year models of Tacoma and I brought the truck in several times to have the frame inspected and asked for it to be replaced. The folks at Dorschel Automotive group turned me away saying it did not meet the "rust perforation standard." Lo and behold, when Dorschel was bought by Bob Johnson Auto Group, the first time I took it in they recognized that the frame was entirely rotted and would not pass inspection. At this point, I called Toyota Customer Service and they said they would not honor the recall as it is outside the window of time. Yet this is not a matter of me not taking proper action. I did. I did my due diligence and I am being harmed by the negligence of the service managers at Dorschel. I made Toyota aware that the frame inspection was...
in 2020 my mechanic notified me my frame was rusted and would not pass next inspection. i did further research on line and discovered there was a recall of which i never recieved any notification. i also discovered there was a class action lawsuit case # 2:15-cv-02171-fmo-ffm. i contacted toyota and filed a complaint case # 210402000664. they called back saying there was nothing they could do, the frame corrosion warrentee end 8-21-2019. not great news seeing i was not notified of recall or law suit... by the way there are 3 toyotas sitting in my driveway. i have not moved in 20 years , and my phone number has never changed.i have since had the repairs made by replacing the crossmember and patch welding the rusted area at my own expence ( 1000.00$). i have reciepts. there is a lot of life left in my tacoma, i am dissapointed...
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the chassis was completely rusted, resulting in the vehicle being undrivable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the chassis to be replaced. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that they were unable to assist. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.
The roof of the truck is rusting and corroding (photo attached). I brought the truck to a reputable body shop, and the technician said that it was clear that the issue was a defective paint job from Toyota, because the corrosion was coming from the body up. I take great care of my truck, including getting it washed and waxed frequently. As you are almost certainly aware, Toyota had a massive recall campaign for Toyota Tacomas because the frames were rusting out. In fact, Toyota replaced the frame of this truck pursuant to that recall. An internet search reveals that countless other Toyota Tacoma owners are experiencing the exact same issue as me, with corrosion on the roofs of their vehicles. This problem appears to be systemic and the fault of Toyota's manufacturing process. I am concerned that this corrosion poses a safety hazard because it is only a matter...
The truck frame is rusting away and the dealer said the recall passes in 2016 when it’s supposed to expire 15 years after manufacturing it’s a 2007 Tacoma
STRUCTURE: The frame on my 2007 Tacoma single cab, 2 wheel drive truck is severely corroded in several places, making the vehicle structurally unsound. Additionally, the support bar for my radiator is so rusted out, the radiator is likely to fall out, should I hit a large pothole at any rate of speed. The frame has a roughly 1” hole completely through, on the front driver side, and is scaling and flaking in a number of areas. This vehicle is used almost solely as transportation to and from work, and running errands, in an area with moderate temps, so no salted roads. While we do live on an island, the truck is not brought to the beach, as it does not fit my entire family, and we have a separate 4x4 truck which we use for camping, beach days, etc. I know there was a recall on the frame, but...
TOYOTA NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF ANY FRAME RUST ISSUES, NOR WAS I EVER CONTACTED REGARDING A CLASS ACTION SUIT WHICH DOES INVOLVE FRAME RUST ON MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO PERFORM EXTENSIVE RESEARCH TO INFORM MYSELF OF THE ISSUE. WHEN I VISITED A DEALERSHIP FOR LEAF SPRING REPLACEMENT, I WAS TOLD THAT FRAME RUST WAS TOO EXTENSIVE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT MAKE ME AWARE OF THE RESULTS OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING FRAME REPLACEMENT AND THAT THE FRAME WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED AT MY OWN EXPENSE, AT WHICH TIME I COULD NOT AFFORD. A QUALIFIED SHOP INDICATES THAT MY FRAME IS TOO RUSTED TO REPAIR. I FOUND THIS ARTICLE FROM 2016 WHICH EXACTLY DESCRIBES MY ISSUE: HTTPS://WWW.REUTERS.COM/ARTICLE/US-TOYOTA-SETTLEMENT-IDUSKBN1370PE IN ADDITION, THIS ARTICLE NOTES THAT THIS OTHER PERSON WAS ALSO NOT CONTACTED BY TOYOTA: HTTPS://WWW.WCPO.COM/MONEY/CONSUMER/DONT-WASTE-YOUR-MONEY/WARRANTY-RUNNING-OUT-FOR-RUSTING-TOYOTA-FRAMES IN THIS COMPLAINT FROM NHTSA'S WEBSITE, THIS 2007 TACOMA OWNER...
I'VE NOTICED THE THE UNDERCOATING ON THE FRAME IS REALLY STARTING TO DETERIORATE, AND A LOT OF RUST IS HAPPENING,I KNOW FRAME RUST CAN CAUSE PARTS TO SNAP OFF OR CRACK, WHICH WILL REALLY COMPROMISE THE SAFETY FOR MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS AND OTHER MOTORISTS. IT MAY ALSO SIGNIFICANTLY DIMINISH THE TACOMAS ABILITY TO PROTECT MY FAMILY AND I IN A CRASH. I KNOW CERTAIN TOYOTA'S HAVE THIS RECALL ALREADY BECAUSE OF THE DUST MAGNET UNDERCOATING TOYOTA USES. FOR SOME REASON I WAS ONLY ABLE TO LOAD 1 PHOTO, WILL SEND MORE IF NEEDED, I REALLY NEED SOMETHING DONE.
MY TRUCKS HAS A VERY BAD RUSTED FRAME DUE TO A TOYOTA POOR FRAME COAT AND IT WILL NEED TO REPLACE NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING NOT LETTER WAS SENT OUT DURING THE TIME TO DO THE RECALL OF TOYOTA FRAMES
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA WHICH I BOUGHT IN JANUARY OF 2020. I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF THE CHASSIS NEAR THE TRANSMISSION CROSSMEMBER HAD REALLY BAD CORROSION HAPPENING. THE RUST HAS EATEN UP A LARGE PART OF THE CHASSIS BEAM IN 3 DIFFERENT SPOTS SEVERELY AND BY THE LOOKS OF IT CAN SPLIT IN HALF IN NO TIME.THE TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY FROM THE NEW YORK AND PENNSYLVANIA AREA. NOT TIL MONTHS AFTER I HAD PURCHASED THE TRUCK I WAS INFORMED THAT TOYOTA HAD A MASSIVE RECALL FOR RUSTED OUT FRAMES TO BE REPLACEMENT. I GONE 2 DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS AND THEY AREN'T WILLING TO INSPECT MY CHASSIS OR HELP ME OUT WITH ANYTHING.
RUST FRAME
TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND HE TOLD ME THE FRAME IS SO RUSTED THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I WAS TOLD THAT TOYOTA WAS REPLACING THE RUSTED FRAMES FOR THE KNOWN PROBLEM BUT I CANNOT FIND HOW I CAN GET THE PROCESS STARTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHASSIS OF THE VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA WORLD OF LAKEWOOD (1118 OCEAN AVE RT 88, LAKEWOOD, NJ 08701) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CHASSIS WAS GOOD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE MENTIONED AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE OF THE TRANSMISSION AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE CHASSIS WAS IN VERY BAD SHAPE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.*DT
2007 TACOMA/TOYOTA FRAME HAS BAD RUST AN CORROSION. THERE WAS A RECALL AT ONE TIME BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. TRUCK IS IN GOOD CONDITION 87000 MI. TRUCK WAS SERVICED TODAY 1-22-2021. MECHANIC SAID CHASSIS NOT IN GOOD CONDITION. COULD TURN OUT TO BE FATAL ON THE HIGHWAY.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA . I HAVE CALLED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS ABOUT THE FRAME THEY SAID THE RECALL HAS EXPIRED AND MY TRUCK HAS BEEN 'FIXED' FOR THE FRAME ISSUE, NOW THERE DEFINITION OF FIXED IS A UNDERCOATING THAT HASN'T DONE A SINGLE THING TO PREVENT THE RUST. IT WILL NOT PASS THE VA STATE INSPECTION. I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS VEHICLE FOR SOME [XXX] RECALL THAT HAS 'EXPIRED' A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD NOT EXPIRE. IT IS A DANGER TO MY LIFE AND OTHERS. I WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE. IT IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. THIS EITHER NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR I NEED TO GET MY MONEY BACK. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE MADE SEVERAL REPORTS IT SHOWS THAT NHTSA IS A JOKE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THEN THE MONEY THEY PROFIT. THANKS. PARTS...
MY INDIGO BLUE PAINT HAS PEELED OF THE ROOF OF THE CAB PREMATURELY AND WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE I RESEARCHED THE TOYOTA RECALL ON WHITE BLIZZARD PEARL PAINT AND I BELIEVE THIS IS DEFINITELY A SIMILAR DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PLEASE VIEW PICTURES ATTACHED. SINCERELY [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I PURCHASE A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA IN JUNE 2015 AT THAT TIME WE WERE TOLD DUE TO RECALL BY TOYOTA, THE FRAME HAD BEEN UNDERCOATED. RECENTLY RESEARCHING THE RECALL INFORMATION, THIS WAS ONE OF THE OPTIONS FOR REPAIR BY TOYOTA RECALL. WHEN WE WENT FOR AN INSPECTION IT FAILED BECAUSE OF RUSTY FRAME....HOW CAN YOU ALLOW RECALLS TO EXPIRE? I KNOW THIS WAS HUGE EXPENSE TO TOYOTA TO REPAIR VEHICLES, BUT I FEEL LIKE A LIFE IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN A LOSS FOR A COMPANY THAT SHOULD HAVE MANUFACTURED A QUALITY PRODUCT TO BEGIN WITH. MY QUESTION IS, HOW CAN YOU, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE ALLOW RECALLS TO EXPIRE, WHEN CLEARLY ONE OF THE RECALL OPTIONS DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM? MY SON SPOKE WITH TOYOTA AND THEY COULD CARE LESS. I DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCES TO REPAIR OR BUY A NEW VEHICLE. I KNOW I AM...
CLEAR COAT GONE AND PAINT IS PEELING AND FADING ON ALMOST ALL SURFACES
THE SHIFTER BROKE AFTER PULLING INTO PARK AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE GEAR BOX FAILED. REPAIRED SHIFT CABLE 8/6/2020.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2007. RECENTLY UPON MY PERIODIC INSPECTION OF THE FRAME I NOTICED ALL THE FRAME WELDS IN THE UPPER FRAME AREA RUSTED AND THE WELDS APPEARED TO BE BREAKING ON THE FRAME. IF THIS IS IN FACT THE CASE THIS VEHICLE IS NO LONGER ROAD WORTHY. THE FRAME OF ANY VEHICLE SHOULD LAST THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS 153000 ORIGINAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
I HAVE TWO CONCERNS: FIRST IS THE CLEAR-COAT AND PAINT ON THE VEHICLE RUBBING OFF CAUSING THE ROOF AND OTHER BODY PANELS TO RUST, WHICH IN TURN CAUSES THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE TO BE COMPROMISED IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT/ROLLOVER. SECOND IS THAT THE FRONT HEADLAMPS FILL UP WITH WATER/MOISTURE DURING COLD WEATHER/RAIN/ AND CAR WASHES. THIS COULD LEAD TO THE HEADLAMPS SHORTING OUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE INJURIES/DEATHS. TOYOTA SO FAR HAS OFFERED NO SOLUTION TO EITHER CONCERN AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY CLAIMS THEY WON'T COVER SEALED BEAM HEADLAMPS. IF THEY ARE AS THEY CLAIM SEALED BEAM HEADLAMPS HOW IS THE WATER INTRUSION HAPPENING? BOTH OF THESE CONCERNS ARE SAFETY RELATED AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SUCH. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND IT ONLY HAS LESS THAN 62,000 MILES.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE FRAME RUST RECALL. MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE CURRENTLY RUST PERFORATIONS IN THE FRAME (MANY FRAMES WERE REPLACED BY TOYOTA AT NO COST DURING THE ORIGINAL RECALL) THAT BECAUSE TOYOTA INSPECTED THE FRAME (WITH A PREVIOUS OWNER IN 2016) AND DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUES LARGE ENOUGH AT THAT TIME TO CAUSE THE ENTIRE FRAME TO BE REPLACED, THAT THEIR "CRC" UNDERCOATING THEY APPLIED WAS ALL THAT WAS NECESSARY. LESS THAN 3 YEARS LATER (MAYBE SOONER, BUT I JUST GOT THE VEHICLE) THE FRAME HAS HOLES IN IT AND TOYOTA IS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT OFFER A FULL OUT OF POCKET $10,000-$15,000 FRAME REPLACEMENT. THERE MUST BE THOUSANDS OF THESE VEHICLES FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL THAT WERE ONLY SPRAYED AND NOT REPLACED THAT ARE NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE...
WE TOOK OUR TOYOTA TACOMA 07 WITH 62,402 MILEAGE FOR STATE INSPECTION ON 7/24/2019. SIGNIFICANT RUST PERFORATION WAS FOUND ON THE FRAME CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FAIL INSPECTION, AND THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE LEARNED ABOUT TOYOTA'S WARRANTY EXTENSION PROGRAM FOR RUST PERFORATION FROM THEIR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FOR 2005'2010 TACOMA VEHICLES, BUT OUR 07 TACOMA'S EXTENSION EXPIRED ON 5/26/2019. WE CALLED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND WERE TOLD THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP IN OUR SITUATION, EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM EXISTED PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF THEIR ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND WE ONLY LEARNED OF THE PROBLEM AND THE PROGRAM AT THIS POINT BECAUSE OF THE TIMING OF OUR STATE INSPECTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE WAS COLLECTING RUST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RUST HAD PARTIALLY EATEN THROUGH THE ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHATTAM TOYOTA (7 PARK OF COMMERCE WAY, SAVANNAH, GA 31405, (912) 386-4040) WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR, WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ROOF, THE PAINT ON THE HOOD AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *BF*JB
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WAS NOT IN A WRECK. I RECENTLY HAD MY TRUCK WORKED ON AND THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THE FRAME HAD ABOUT A TWO FOOT SPOT THAT WAS RUSTED THROUGH THE FRAME. AFTER LEARNING THIS, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT WAS SETTLED WITH TOYOTA FOR THE 2005-2010 YEAR MODEL TACOMA BECAUSE OF FRAME CORROSION. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT I NEVER GOT A RECALL NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL. THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NO LONGER REPLACE THE FRAMES FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE I WAS TWO MONTHS PAST THE DEADLINE. I WILL MOST LIKELY BE FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM IF THEY CONTINUE TO REFUSE TO REPLACE MY FRAME. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT SOONER. THEY CLAIM...
THERE ARE 3 RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE IN WHICH I'VE BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO SET UP A DATE IN WHICH I CAN LEAVE MY VEHICLE. THE RECALL NOTIFICATION FROM TOYOTA STATED THAT I WOULD BE PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE THE WORK IS BEING PERFORMED, SINCE THE RUST TREATMENT WAS GOING TO TAKE 4 DAYS TO DRY. NOW SINCE I'VE REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUES TO AVOID MY CALLS OR LET ME SPEAK WITH THE HEAD REPAIR TECHNICIAN. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE HAS HAD RECALLS FOR SAFETY HAZARDS AND POTENTIAL DEATH WHILE DRIVING.
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. IT'S FRAME HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER (HERTRICH) THREE SEPARATE TIMES FOR RUST TO THE FRAME. IT RECEIVED A RUST INHIBITOR COATING ON 1/16/15. IT WAS INSPECTED AGAIN ON 12/21/17 AND 1/3/19. DURING THE 1/3/19 INSPECTION, THE DEALER CONDUCTED A MULTI-POINT INSPECTION. MY TRUCK'S STEERING COMPONENTS AND STEERING LINKAGE WERE INSPECTED. IT RECEIVED A GREEN CHECK BY THE DEALER, THE HIGHEST RATING. ON 2/7/19, JUST ONE MONTH AFTER THE INSPECTION, MY POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. MY TRUCK'S RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM HAD HEAVY CORROSION, AND MOST OF THE POWER STEERING FLUID HAD LEAKED. MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM. IT WAS HEAVILY CORRODED. MY MECHANIC SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN ONE THIS CORRODED. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOGRAPHS OF MY CORRODED POWER STEERING RACK....
BOUGHT A 2007 TACOMA 4X4 WITH APPROX. 300 MILES ON IT. IT HAD BEEN STOLEN FROM A LOT AND THEREFORE HAD A RED TITLE. WE GOT A LETTER INFORMING US THE FRAME WAS POSSIBLY RUSTING AND TO TAKE IT TO A TOYOTA DEALER WHICH WE DID AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS RUSTED BEYOND BEING REPAIRED AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AFTER BEING TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE TO GET THE FRAME IN BEFORE IT COULD BE REPAIRED WE WAITED ABOUT A YEAR, IN THE MEAN TIME WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIND OUT WHAT THE HOLD UP WAS. AFTER A YEAR OR SO WAIT WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT BECAUSE IT HAS A RED TITLE, THIS TRUCK WAS NOT WATER DAMAGED OR IN AN ACCIDENT, SO NOW THE FRAME IS ALMOST RUSTED INTO WITH AROUND 100,00 MILES ON IT, PLEASE TELL ME HOW IT...
RECALL ON FRAME FROM TOYOTA .TOYOTA HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO HELP FIX THIS PROBLEM REPORTED AND WAS INSPECTED JAN.2018 BY SPARKS TOYOTA .
I EXPERIENCED A BAD SMELL IN THE CABIN, PARTICULARLY WHEN FIRST SWITCHING ON THE IGNITION, WHICH CAUSES THE CABIN AIR FAN TO START RUNNING. I CHECKED THE CABIN AIR FILTER. THERE WERE RAT FECES IN THE PLEATS OF THE FILTER, A SMELL OF RAT URINE, AND THERE WAS FOAM MATERIAL FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. PRESUMABLY THE RATS HAD BEEN CHEWING IT TO MAKE A NEST. THEY HAD ALSO BEEN CHEWING ON THE FILTER MATERIAL. THE LOCAL TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE SAID TOYOTA USA WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME. I REMOVED THE COWL AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CABIN AIR INTAKE IS OPEN TO THE SPACE UNDER THE COWL. I FOUND THAT THAT THE TOP OF THE COWL IS DRAINED BY HOLES WHERE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER DRIVE SHAFTS GO THROUGH THE COWL. THE WATER COLLECTS IN THE SPACE UNDER THE COWL, WHICH IN TURN IS DRAINED THROUGH...
FRAME WAS INSPECTED AND IT IS RUSTING,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A HOLE IN THE FRAME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INSTRUCTED THE DEALER TO PROVIDE THE CONTACT WITH A LOANER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS INVESTIGATED AND THE DEALER WAS WAITING TO HEAR FROM THE MANUFACTURER. IN 2014, THE DEALER SPRAYED THE FRAME DUE TO CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000.
THE PAINT IS DEFECTIVE AND PEELING OFF VEHICLE IN MORE THAN ONE LOCATION.
MY CHASYS FRAME HAVE RUST AND LOOK LIKE MY MOTOR GOING TO FELL TO THE FLOOR I CALL TOYOTA BUT THE SAY NO OPEN RECALL TO REPLACE MY FRAME, ALSO MY CAR HAVE A LOT VIBRATION ON REAR WENT ACELERATION. BUT TOYOTA DONT WANTE HELP
