On my way to work when the I hit the brakes... brakes locked up causing me to be unable to come to a complete stop.. Driver side airbag deployed but the passenger side airbag caused the dash to explode causing a fire in the dash. With the dash exploding and the passenger side airbag not deploying correctly it cause the passenger to hit windshield! Unknown Unknown Just a check engine light for knock sensor.
There was a recall in 2015 and 2019 for airbags on my model of Toyota. I own a 2006 Toyota Corolla CE. I was sent a letter from Toyota to go into a local dealership to get this done. There's only one dealership in our tri-city area. I took it into our local dealership called Findlay Toyota in Prescott, Arizona. I will say ahead of time that they have over 50 - one star reviews on Yelp.com From the moment I left the dealership in December of 2019 my airbag light was on in the dash area and it’s still there. When i went in and told Brian at the time he said it will go away. It never has. This warning was never on my dash prior to this recall. I’ve filed a complaint with the Attorney general’s office of Arizona and Findlay have no recollection of me ever...
Inflator Rupture - front passenger inflator. A vehicle collision at Alma School and 8th Avenue where one vehicle turned left in front of the oncoming involved 2006 Toyota Corolla resulting in the Corolla striking the right side of the other vehicle. During the collision the airbags were commanded to deploy and the passenger inflator had a significant rupture/failure which sent shrapnel out of the dash, striking the passenger. Our unit has investigated two confirmed Takata inflator fatalities and after a brief visual inspection it was confirmed the passenger inflator is in several pieces. The appearance of the inflator is consistent with prior observed passenger side Takata inflators. The car has been preserved in our parking lot and the passenger side airbag, with related tears and shrapnel holes, was obtained and preserved as well. On March 17, 2023 at approximately 4:12 PM on Hwy 288 northbound just south of Southmore Boulevard I was struck from behind by a Blue Jetta. Skidding into me I think he was still going about 30 miles per hour if not a little more based on the violence of the crash. My vehicle was pushed forward into the car ahead of me damaging the front of my vehicle as well. Despite the impact, my air bags did NOT deploy. I had taken the vehicle in to the Toyota shop here in Humble, TX and had the "final fix" done on the airbags. I have been physically injured as a result of this automobile accident. The car went to replace the air bag with a hood and everything seemed fine but the SRS light activated every so often. this is happening since they changed the air bag and it turns it on and off whenever it wants for seconds the car has barely 22,000 miles and has not been crashed this has been happening since they changed the car's air bag air bag in the authorized toyota dealer of santana puerto rico
Dealer repaired airbag recall, now SRS light is on and won’t turn off. Dealer now wants hundreds of dollars to check and or fix possible issue told that it may be something else and more work needed. This issue should be part of recall repairs. This car only has 63,200 miles on it well maintained should not have these issues.
We had recall work done for Airbag, sensor light came on after repairs. One dealer quoted $150 to look at the sensor another wanted $450+. The light was not on before recall work was done. It is clear that whatever they did for the recall caused this to happen, don't care if it's not under warranty the dealer caused the issue electrical whatever and should fix it. Obviously this is a known issue with the 2006 Toyota and should also be part of the recall.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS THE PLS P&A CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR AND EXPLAINED THAT THE MALFUNCTION WAS THE SAME AS IN OTHER CARS THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. BECAUSE IT WAS THE SAME MALFUNCTION, I BELIEVE THAT MINE AND OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL TO PREVENT HARM TO OTHER DRIVERS.

TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR OTHER MODELS FOR SAME ISSUE, BUT NOT FOR 2006 COROLLA. NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS IN FL AND DEALER VERBALLY STATED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN HOT CLIMATE. VEHICLE AIR BAG IS INOPERABLE.
HAD PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED VIA THE FIRST RECALL AT THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER (I-10 TOYOTA IN INDIO). WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. I'VE CONTACTED TOYOTA'S CORPORATE OFFICE MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO ETA, AND VERY LITTLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED. COMPLETED, HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT FOLLOWING THIS REPAIR AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR FLIPPED AND WAS SMASHED COMPLETELY IN THE FRONT AND ON THE LEFT SIDE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A CRASH WHERE THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A RURAL STREET AND LOST CONTROL WHEN THE FRONT TIRE GOT CAUGHT IN A RUT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

I RECENTLY HAD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. I TOLD THE SERVICE REP THAT I HAD JUST RECENTLY HAD BROUGHT IT IN ON THE RECALL ISSUED REGARDING THE AIRBAG DEFECT. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME $131 JUST TO DIAGNOSIS IT. I ARGUED THAT IT SHOULD NOT COST ME ANYTHING SINCE THERE WAS INITIAL ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG. I CALLED THE RECALL PEOPLE AND THEY AGREED WITH ME. I TOOK MY CAR IN AND WAS TOLD BY THE TECH THAT THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE SPIRAL COIL CABLE IN THE AIRBAG. HE SAID IT WAS A NONRELATED ISSUE, WHICH I ARGUED HOW COULD IT NOT BE IF ITS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG. HE TOLD ME THAT MY AIRBAG MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE OF THE SPIRAL COIL. I FAIL TO SEE HOW...

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (KEARNY MESA TOYOTA IN SAN DIEGO, CA, 858-430-260) AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. I HAVE TRIED TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR OF MY RECALL# 168340. MY TOYOTA DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS TO REPAIR. I HAVE CALLED AT LEAST 6 TIME OVER THE PASSED 18 MO AND STILL NO PARTS. WHEN CAN I GET REPAIR PARTS.

"TAKATA RECALL" HAD 2 ACCIDENTS IN MY TOYOTA COROLLA AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT WORKED. I'VE HAD 10 SURGERIES BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGES I GOT FROM THE ACCIDENT AND BECAUSE THE AIRBAG DIDN'T PROTECTED ME. THE CAR WAS MOVING IN THE FIRST ACCIDENT AND IT WAS A REALLY BIG ACCIDENT BUT THE AIRBAG DID NOT PROTECTED ME IT JUST THE LIGHT WENT ON AND STAYED ON.

I WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON JUNE30, 2016 AND HAD IT FIXED FOR FREE A WEEK LATER MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON OR CAME ON SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG NOW THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED AND SINCE IT WASN'T RECALLED THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIX IT I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT SO I NEVER GOT IT FIXED

"TAKATA RECALL" HAD TWO ACCIDENTS WHERE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. 1 ANOTHER CAR WAS DROVE INTO THE FRONT OF MY CAR CAUSING DAMAGE. 2ND HIT AN ICE PACK AND SLID INTO BACK OF ANOTHER CAR TOTALING THE CAR. AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF.

THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT ROCKLAND TOYOTA LOCATED AT: 618 NEW YORK ROUTE 303, BLAUVELT, NY 10913, (845) 367-4219, UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V28500 (AIR BAGS) IN DECEMBER OF 2016. LIA TOYOTA OF ROCKLAND WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ON MY THIRD CLOCK SWITCH IN MY STEERING COLUMN IT IS THE DEVICE THAT FEEDS POWER TO THE AIR BAG FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IT SEEM THAT IF THE CAR DETECTS A SHORT OR INTERRUPTION IN THE ELECTRICAL LINE IT WILL LIGHT UP THE DASH LIGHT . FOR ME THIS HAS HAPPEN 3 TIME I AM AT 95,000. MILEAGE. REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING SWITCH FIXES IT BUT THE PART IS NETHER A SWITCH OR A SPRING GO FIGURE. HOPE THIS HELPS

I CONTACTED TOYOTA SANTA MONICA (THEY ARE THE CLOSEST LOCATION TO HOME AND MOST CONVENIENT FOR WORK) AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW IF THE PART WAS IN. TWO WEEKS PASSED AND I CALLED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND WOULD GET A CALL WHEN IT CAME IN. TWO MONTHS LATER, I CALL AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED THE PART WAS BACKORDERED 4-6 WEEKS AND WOULD ONCE AGAIN RECEIVE A CALL TO LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN BRING MY VEHICLE IN. ADMITTEDLY, THE NOTICE WAS FORGOTTEN AS I WAITED. I FOUND THE RECALL NOTICE AND CONTACTED TOYOTA SANTA MONICA ON JUNE 29, 2017 IN HOPES OF BRINGING IN MY VEHICLE ON JULY 5TH. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD ONE PART IN STOCK, BUT IF I WANT TO BRING MY CAR IN AT THAT...

THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, BUT NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (SPRING HILL TOYOTA LOCATED ON 3062 GOVERNMENT BLVD MOBILE, ALABAMA 33606) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE ON THE AIR BAG WAS FRACTURED. THE SPIRAL CABLE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,280.
TAKATA RECALL- STILL WAITING FOR THE WARRANTY WORK. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW.,

THE FAILURE OCCURED ONLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL, IN WHICH THE AIR BAG MODULE WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,358.
