The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Ion. The contact stated that the instrument panel and radio were intermittently inoperable. The contact stated that the ignition switch failed to turn to the OFF position as needed intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving and turning the steering wheel to the right to make a right turn, the steering was significantly wobbly. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 14V171000 (Electrical System) and 14V153000 (Steering). Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing a fuel leak. The vehicle was taken to the Subaru dealer, where it was purchased. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. An unknown Chevrolet dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that unknown recalls were previously performed on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 85,200.
The contact owned a 2006 Saturn Ion. The contact stated while driving at 50 mph and there was a stopped vehicle in the middle of the road, in order to avoid crashing the contact veered to the right lane but crashed into the rear of a truck. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained neck, shoulder, arm, and chest injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. THE RPMS JUMP AROUND AND THE A/C MAKES NOISE AND LIGHTS FLICKER AT TIMES. THE CAR WILL JUST STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR WHEN I'M TURNING ONTO ANOTHER ROAD. IT'S QUITE SCARY WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. MY MAIN CONCERN IS A LARGE SUV PUT IT IN REVERSE AND HIT THE FRONT OF MY CAR BEFORE ENDING UP ON THE HOOD NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. SHE WAS GOING PRETTY FAST AND PUSHED MY CAR PRETTY FAR BUT NO AIRBAG! THEN ON A SEPARATE OCCASION I WAS DOING 55 MILES WHEN A LARGE ANIMAL DARTED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. MY FRONT END AND RADIATOR AND FRONT END WERE SHOT. EVEN SPLIT MY PASSENGER SIDE DASH OPEN AND HAD TO BE TOWED OFF BUT NO AIRBAGS!! EXACTLY HOW DO I HAVE TO BE GOING FOR ME TO HAVE PROTECTION????

KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION AND CAR WON'T START. UNABLE TO RETRIEVE KEY FROM IGNITION SWITCH. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR LOST POWER STEERING CONTROL LIGHTS BLINK IN THE DASH AND I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I WAS ON THE LEFT SIDE SHOULDER FOR 2 HOURS WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED IN 2014 WHEN THE CAR WAS RECALLED FOR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE AND FIXED FOR FREE IN 2014
KEY IGNITION LOCKED UP KEY WON'T TURN AT ALL AND THERE'S A RECALL ON IT AND TOOK IT TO DEALER SHIP FOR THEM TO FIX IT AND THERE WANTING TO CHARGE ME TO FIX IT AND THERE SUPPOSE TO DO IT FOR FREE SENSE IT'S A RECALL

THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY LOCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (O'RIELLY CHEVROLET INC., 6160 E BROADWAY BLVD, TUCSON, AZ 85711) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-553-6000 AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC GMC/BUICK IN MONTGOMERY, AL WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN 2014 PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SLOWED BUT ENGINE DID NOT STOP APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION ON A TOWN ROAD. DAYS LATER IT STALLED AGAIN ON A TOWN ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ANOTHER LIGHT FLASHED. IN BOTH CASES STOPPING THE ENGINE AND TURNING IT BACK ON REMEDIED THE ISSUE AND CLEARED THE LIGHTS. WHILE IN MOTION ON A COUNTRY HIGHWAY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING FROM ON AND OFF ALTHOUGH THERE WAS ONLY MY POCKETBOOK IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. REMOVING THE BAG DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. STOPPING AND TURNING OFF THE IGNITION CLEARED THE PROBLEM.THE CAR LOST POWER AGAIN ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE SHOULDER TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND THE PROBLEM SOLVED. I'VE HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH. ONE OF THE TIMES GM PAID FOR IT DUE TO A RECALL WITHIN MONTHS THE CAR WAS BACK INTO PASSLOCK LIGHT COMING ON CAR STALLING WHILE IN MOVEMENT KEY STUCK IN IGNITION HAVE TO WIGGLE IT TO GET IT BACK INTO THE TURN OFF POSITION. THIS LAST TIME AS OF TODAY THE CAR WILL NOT RUN YOU HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE KEY OUT OF A LOCK THE PASSLOCK IS SHOWING ON THE CAR DASHBOARD.
WHILE DRIVING THE IGNITION SHUTS OFF KILLING POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKES
PREVIOUSLY FIXED RECALL HAS FAILED. IGNITION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. CAR REMAINS RUNNING AFTER KEY IS REMOVED. KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION.
WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE OFF POSITION SOMETIMES YOU CAN NOT REMOVE THE KEY AND WHEN YOU CAN NOT REMOVE THE KEY YOU CAN NOT OPEN THE DOORS BECAUSE IT HAS AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN GEAR TO MOVE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU MUST RESTART THE CAR UNTIL THE IGNITION RELEASES THE KEY, WHICH PUTS UNDO WEAR AND TEAR ON THE STARTER AND SYSTEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A SHOP THREE TIMES TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. SO THEY KEPT THE CAR A WEEK TO TRY TO FIND THE PROBLEM. I JUST LEARNED THAT THE SHOP I AM TAKING IT TO HAS ALL THE APPEARANCE OF A DEALERSHIP BUT THEY ARE NOT A DEALERSHIP.
IN APRIL 2014, I TOOK MY CAR TO JOHN BOWMAN CHEVROLET IN CLARKSTON, MICHIGAN FOR THE RECALL NOTICE 14063, IGNITION SWITCH. SINCE THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW IGNITION SWITCH I AM NOT ABLE TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND REMOVE THE KEY. THE KEY WILL NOT REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION. I MUST REPEATEDLY RESTART THE VEHICLE UNTIL I AM ABLE TO REMOVE IT.

MY CAR BEGAN WITH MY IGNITION SWITCH STICKING AND I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL SO I TOOK IT TO BE CORRECTED....AFTER SUPPOSABLY BEING FIXED I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO I STARTED SMELLING A FAINT SMELL OF GAS...NOW ITS SO SEVERE I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR. IT'S ACTUALLY DRIPPING ONTO THE GROUND. IT TAKES 3 OR MORE TIMES TO GET IT TO CRANK. THE GAS MILEAGE HAS GONE DOWN FROM 30 TO NOTHING. FROM THE VIN SEARCH MY CAR ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I DO NOT RECALL THE EXACT DATE OF THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. MY CAR DIES RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENED A SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE RECALL. I HAD THE RECALLED ITEMS RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM 'SUPPOSEDLY' REPAIRED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO BY AN AUTHORIZED GM DEALERSHIP. IT CONTINUED TO DIE WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK IT BACK SATURDAY TO THE DEALER AND MY CAR IS STILL THERE. THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS DUPLICATING THE DYING SITUATION. I TOLD THEM THEY DON'T NEED TO DUPLICATE IT, JUST RE-REPAIR THE RECALL ITEMS. IF THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR AND DO NOT WANT IT BACK. THE DAY I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN FROM THE BUSY MAIN STREET OF MY TOWN INTO A PARKING LOT AND IT DIED BEFORE I EVEN REACHED THE CURB (NO BUMP). 2006 SATURN ION. CONSUMER RECEIVED REPAIRS DUE TO RECALL AND IS SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT. *TA THE IGNITION CYLINDER AND IGNITION SWITCH WERE REPLACED ON APRIL 6, 2012. ON AUGUST 8, 2012, THE IGNITION LOCK AD IGNITION HOUSING WERE REPLACED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. I CAN BE ON THE FREEWAY AT 55 MILES AND THE CAR WILL JUST DIE. I CAN BE AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR WILL DIE. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN AND TWICE THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I THOUGHT THAT WITH THE RECALL REPAIR OF THE IGNITION SWITCH IT MIGHT HELP BUT IT HASN'T AND MY KEY STILL GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AT TIMES AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE ANYTHING HANGING ON THE KEY ONLY THE REMOTE. YET ONE MORE IGNITION HAS FAILED. I HAD THE RECALL DONE ON THE OTHER TWO RECALLS. YET, LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER THE LAST REPLACEMENT THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT. I TRIED LOOKING FOR THE KEY RELEASE ON THE STEERING COLUMN THAT ON PRIOR RECALLS THEY SAID WAS THERE. IT IS NOT. I HAD TO PULL THE BATTERY CABLES AS BEFORE TO GET THE INTERIOR LIGHTS OFF. I CAME OUT TO THE CAR ABOUT AN HOUR LATER AND WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY. I SPOKE TO THE GM REP WHO SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER ONE (THE SAME MODEL, ETC) AND I'D HAVE TO COME BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP. I TOLD THEM NO, I HAD RECEIVED UNBELIEVABLE HIDEOUS SERVICE THERE SINCE BUYING THE CAR AND WITH THE OTHER RECALLS. WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE HOUR AND A HALF TO THE NEXT NEAREST ONE. AGAIN DECLINED. I...
APPARENTLY EITHER THE "NEW IGNITIONS" ARE ALSO FAULTY OR THE DEALERSHIP LIED ABOUT HAVING REPLACED IT AS THEY DID ABOUT HAVING COMPLETED THE 3RD RECALL REPAIRS (I'D RECEIVE A LETTER FROM GM SOME WEEKS LATER SAYING THE PARTS WERE NOW IN AND TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE WORK DONE). THIS EVENING AT ABOUT 5:35PM PACIFIC TIME I CAME HOME AND YET ONE MORE TIME THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION AS IT WAS IN THE ALT POSITION. I TRIED 5 OR 6 TIMES OVER A SPAN OF 10-15 MINUTES TO NO AVAIL. THE HEADLIGHTS HAD TO BE TURNED OFF MANUALLY AS DID THE OVERHEAD LIGHT. I WAS GETTING MY HOUSE KEY OFF THE RING SO I COULD GET MY TOOLS OUT OF THE HOUSE TO ONE MORE TIME DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND DECIDED TO TRY TO REMOVE THE KEY AGAIN. IT WAS...

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V047000: (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN APR 2013 FROM A USED DEALER. SHORTLY AFTER MY PURCHASE I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE GOING INTO REDUCED POWER MODE, THUS DEGRADING THE POWER THAT THE ENGINE WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT AFFECTING MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. AFTER OVER A YEAR OF TAKING MY VEHICLE TO DIFFERENT SHOPS TO BE REPAIRED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY VEHICLE HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE ECM. GM RELEASED A SERIES OF ECM SERIAL / PART NUMBERS THAT WERE KNOW TO BE AN ISSUE, AND THAT WAS ALSO IN THE TSB. I AM UNCLEAR ON HOW GM IS ABLE TO NARROW THIS ISSUE DOWN TO A SPECIFIC SERIES OF SERIAL / PART NUMBERS BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR SPECIAL CONSIDERATION ON THIS PART. WAS DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED OFF AN OFF RAMP WHEN MY CAR FELT LIKE IT STALLED AND IT TURNED OFF WHICH I THOUGHT IT WAS ANOTHER CAT WHO HIT ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER EXPLANATION AT THE TIME. IT SET ME IN A SPIN AND THE CAR HIT THE WALL BUT THE AIR BAG DIDN'T GO OFF. I ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL WITH AN INJURED BACK AND HEAD. COULD IT HAVE BEEN THE FAULTY IGNITION? MY CAR KEPT STALLING AFTER THE BODY REPAIR. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP IN DUMBER OF THE SAME YEAR AND MY CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. WHILE DRIVING AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP CAR WILL JUST CUT OFF, ALOT OF JERKING, POWER STEERING COMES ON AND STEERING HARD,ELECTRICAL DISPLAY WILL AUTOMATIC START SHOWING UP.HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL REPAIRS AND STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH STEERING. I WAS PROCEEDING OUT OF TO DRIVE OFF WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING BECAME HARD TO MANEUVER AND SEEN AS THOUGH THE CAR WAS SHUTTING OFF IN WHICH A CHILD WAS RUNNING ACROSS THE STREET AT THAT TIME I DID THE BEST I COULD AND MY CAR BUMP MY NEIGHBOR VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A STRAINED MUSCLE IN MY HAND THAT MY DOCTOR DIAGNOSED AS CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME (NERVE DAMAGES). MY CAR HAVE DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES. FIRST ISSUE STARTED WITH THE NUMBERS OF THE CLOCK/STEREO FLICKERING AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS OF THE CAR BEING OFF DURING THE WINTER. THEN DURING THE SUMMER THERE WERE A COUPLE INCIDENTS WHEN THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN NOR UP UNTIL A COUPLES MINUTES AFTER THE CAR BEING ON. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER I ROLLED THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW 5 INCHES DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND 15 MINUTES LATER THE WINDOW WENT UP ABOUT AN INCH AND DID NOT BUDGE BUT WOULD MAKE A BUZZING SOUND. AFTER A DAY OR TWO THERE WAS NOT A BUZZING SOUND AND ALL THE OTHER WINDOWS DID NOT WORK. TOOK IN MY VEHICLE TO BE CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE COMING FROM THE MAIN COMPUTER (MOTHERBOARD I ASSUME). THIS HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY OF 2014 AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT FIXED. *TR

MY SATURN WAS AT THE DEALER FOR THE GM IGNITION RECALL. THE DEALER TOLD ME MY FUEL LINES WERE ROTTED AND LEAKING. I THOUGHT THIS ODD SINCE THE CAR WAS AT THE MECHANIC'S FOR A RUSTED EXHAUST THE WEEK BEFORE. I CALLED MY MECHANIC FROM THE DEALER AND HE SAID TO BRING THE CAR BACK THAT DAY. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY 2006 SATURN ION 2. THE KEY WOULD GET STUCK IN THERE, OR BE HARD TO PUT IT IN ALL THE WAY BEFORE STARTING THE CAR. AT TIMES THE ENGINE WOULD STAY ON EVEN AFTER KEY WAS OUT AND ALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS WOULD ALL COME ON EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE WAS OFF. SUDDENLY MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER (ALL GAUGES DEAD) WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WARNING LIGHTS. THEY WOULD ALWAYS STAY ON EVEN WHEN CAR WAS OFF AND KEY WAS OUT. LATER, JUST AS SUDDEN THE CLUSTER WORKED FINE AGAIN, ONLY TO DIE A MONTH LATER LEAVING ALL WARNING LIGHTS ALWAYS ON AGAIN. WHILE ALL THIS WAS HAPPENING I WAS STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH THE IGNITION. MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS CAUSING THE CLUSTER TO MALFUNCTION AND EVENTUALLY BURNED...
