2023 RAM 1500 Structurebody Problems

Sun visor fell off while driving a 2nd time, the first times was repaired under warranty at about 5k miles A quick google search will show this is a common enough problem, in multiple models, that there is an aftermarket fix for visors for rams and jeeps.

Truck sways alot with high winds.

Tailgate unlatched one its own when I was backing up. It dropped and struck another vehicles bumper. Tailgate is smashed now. I was watching the back up camera and the tailgate was closed. It electronically opened itself and dropped down with me doing anything.

On multiple occasions, my tailgate has opened while driving causing a loss of cargo.

While driving on a busy highway, facing early morning sun, I lowered the driver side sun visor to help keep the sun out of my eyes. A few minutes later, the sun visor came loose at the left-hand side and fell onto my hands as they were positioned on the steering wheel. This startled me, caused me to be blinded momentarily by the sun in my eyes, and caused me to have to move the visor out of my way (it was partially blocking my vision as it was hanging there from the clip on the right-hand side of the visor). It didn't cause an accident, but it certainly could have. The visor came loose from the pivot point near the driver's side A-pillar, upper left-hand corner of the windshield. I purchased this vehicle from the dealership on Nov 24, 2023. On Dec 9th, 2023 I found evidence of mice chewing and droppings. I checked the air cabin filter and there was evidence of mouse droppings and chewing as well. I set traps and caught three mice. I took the vehicle to the dealership to identify where they were coming in from and to assess what kind of damage was done to the vehicle, as it was smelling very bad even after changing the air filters. The dealership stated that this was not covered under warranty because it is not a mechanical problem and that I had to go through my insurance and submit a claim before they could proceed with removing the dashboard to investigate damage to the firewall. I received approval from my insurance after submitting a comprehensive claim and the dealership took apart the entire dashboard as...

Tailgate unlatched and dropped into open position while driving without any action to cause the tailgate to open. Resulting in damage to tailgate from a trailer which was being towed.

Tailgate latch failed. Tailgate opened while driving on two separate occasions. As of this submission my vehicle has less than 3,000 miles. After the second failure I took the vehicle to the dealership. They ran diagnostics and confirmed an issue with the tailgate latch. I am working with the dealership and hopefully will have the repairs covered under warranty. Diagnostic report attached. The incident date covers the second failure. I am reporting this issue due the fact it is a known issue and has been the subject of recalls for model years through 2022.

Tailgate latch failed causing tailgate to fall while driving. Tailgate fell onto trailer causing over $2500 in damages. Vehicle has less than 7k miles.
