No warning light. Going down the freeway at About 70-80 mph then the accelerator stops working. It goes down to about 44 mph with my foot floored in gas pad. I have to get off the road and then let her set to cool . This went on over and over on a recent 15 hour trip I had the transmission sensors evaluated and it was indicated they were no good replaced one but need 2 and one reordered. If was . Waiting on replacement and the outside parts so I'll keep up with the changes we do to if they are wrong. Also replacing outside transmission filter.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated. No warning light was illuminated. An independent mechanic and dealer were contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced after retrieving an undisclosed DTC. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer and diagnosed with the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied covering the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was 104,000.

I was driving down interstate 40 at 75 miles an hour and my car just quit in traffic. Luckily I was able to pull over to the side of the road and set for about 10 minutes and my car started back up and I made it about 30 more miles and it quit again and I waited 10 minutes and it starts up again. That’s very dangerous in traffic.

Vehicle has a habit of losing speed, even on cruise control, when going more than 70 mph for extended times and dropping below 60 when doing so on Interstate with no warning lights or system notifications. The most recent occurence was on Saturday, June 7th when driving on the interstate and cruise control engaged at 73 mph when it cut off, dropped to just below 60 without warning and would not accelerate back when pedal completely depressed and then AC system started blowing HOT air and compressor would not kick back on. First attempted to check freon and those levels are not the issue- air blows but blows hot without cooling at all. This did occur in sustained temps in the low to mid-90s.

P0744. Torque Converter Clutch Circuit. Intermittent issue, TSB issued back in 2008 but only affected certain models in that year. (NTB09-148a). current vehicle-2013 Nissan Rogue has intermittent code and has issue traveling down highway above 70 mph.

Purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 95,000 miles on it back in the summer of 2021. currently has 102,00 miles. While travelling on the turnpike at 75 mph, the engine suddenly shut down and I began coasting until I stopped. Being in the left passing lane, I had to get over to the berm without getting hit by passing vehicles (2 nearly rear-ended me) because I was coasting slowly across two other lanes. Once stopped, the car would not restart. I started doing research as to why this happened. I needed a new part for the transmission per the Nissan Dealership. Nissan said I also needed an "engine cooler" for $1500 or it will happen again. This situation is a very well-known issue with this year of vehicle. It can happen with minimal mileage on it but usually when the tempos are in the 90's. Nissan knows about this because...

KNOWN issue with engines overheating and the vehicle stopping. Purchased a 2014 Nissan Rogue with 95,000 miles on it back in the summer of 2021. It currently has 102,00 miles. Along with the purchase, I purchased the “extended” warranty for $2400 to cover the drive-train. All was running well until the temperatures starting climbing into the 90’s consistently. While travelling on the turnpike at 75 mph, the engine suddenly shut down and I began coasting until I stopped. I tried restarting the car but to no avail. I called a tow truck to tow me back home 35 miles. I started doing research as to why this happened. It’s two-sided. The good part was that it shut the engine down before it overheated. The bad part was that I did need a new part for the transmission per the Nissan Dealership. Good-bad there too. Though I had the extended warranty...

My 2013 Nissan rogue that we purchased in November keeps going into limp mode. It has happened several times. We’ve taken it to different shops and they all say it has a defective CVT transmission. It does not pull any codes and does not show that it’s overheating. It does make it dangerous for us and other cars on the road since it will happen on the freeway or as we are making a turn. We have been put in danger several times now. I can find several other years with the recall already. This problem is extremely dangerous when it all of a sudden doesn’t want to go or reduces speeds.

Transmission problem out of no where. Acceleration changed with a high reving/whining noise, with no power on the gas pedal while turning left, putting me and my family at risk. There were no warning lights and no warning whatsoever. There has been no recall with this type of CVT transmission as there should as it is a HIGH RISK of DANGER on the road! I can't even believe that Nissan won't even address the issue. Do not buy this vehicle! Auto parts stores do not even carry parts for this car to replace transmission or torqure converter you have to go to NISSAN dealership(That should tell you SOMETHING) and they won't address the safety the issue nor do they care. PLEASE recall this transmission issue. It is a defect all the way Very unsafe. The cost to replace the transmission through the dealer is a lot of money just to...

Dangerous and terrifying vehicle malfunction. I have done extensive research on the vehicle and I am beyond upset that this has not been resolved for everyone who owns any Nissan vehicle experiencing this problem. While driving either on the highway or local streets after approximately 10-15 minutes of travel time at any speed there is a loud whining noise while accelerating and total power loss. My 2013 Nissan Rogue SV has almost complete power loss while driving just a few minutes at any speeds and especially during or immediately following highway travel. While driving with my 3 year old son in the back, operating at the posted speed, the vehicle suddenly loses power and the ability to maintain or increase speed, the accelerator can be fully pressed and there is little to no response. We have nearly been involved in multiple accidents with semi trucks, other cars/suvs, and objects due...

A friend and I was driving out of town we drove approximately 3 hrs before vehicle stalled on us at a stop sign. The car had no power after driving 60-70 miles on highway. We exited access road & once we stopped at stop sign car acted as if it had no power/gas. Although foot was on pedal all the way to the floor. Transmission has been replaced a year ago. Vehicle did not want to go over 50 mph after car stalled. This is so dangerous we turned around & went home we did not feel safe or comfortable driving this vehicle out of town.

The 2013 Nissan Rogue Vin no: [XXX] only has ~83,000 miles. The transmission is totally out. No incidents and no accidents caused the transmission failure. It is believed upon seeing similar year, make and models of the Nissan Rogue that this is a significant issue to consumers and buyer protection should be granted through a forced recall by Nissan for transmission replacement. While driving up a mountain with no guard rails, my car lost power and failed to accelerate. The car was still running and I had the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor but we weren’t moving. I then had to reverse my car down a narrow, no guard rail mountain road, while also directing traffic coming at us and behind us to go around my vehicle. All with my 68 year old father and 62 year old stepmom passengers who were terrified; I was also but had to hold it together to get my family to safety. I finally reversed us to a switchback that had enough pavement for me to carefully turn the car around and drive down the mountain road to safety. There were no warning lights or symptoms before the failure occurred. Then while driving home on regular highway, the check engine light came...

reduced performance due to CVT fluid temperature protection logic. after driving car in 90 degree weather on highway, the car will fail to accelerate when I exit and come to a stop light. after the stop the car will fail to accelerate and i end up driving too slow thru an intersection which is extremely dangerous. this has been happening for years with this Rogue and i now only drive it very short distances for fear it will fail. this seems to be a common occurrence with Nissan cars but no one told me before i bought it. the dealer says it's not under warranty so they suggested i pay them $6000 to replace it. they sent a bulletin about this NTB16-090

The powertrain component that failed was the transmission system, and it is currently available for inspection upon request. This malfunction posed a significant safety risk as the car abruptly stalled in the middle of a busy highway, putting both myself and other road users in imminent danger. The issue was subsequently reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. Notably, a week prior to the failure, the car's dashboard DOES NOT displayed a warning light and message indicating a transmission problem, which was the first sign of this issue.
#11535221 |
While driving, the vehicle failed to maintain speed. The cruise control would cut out and the vehicle struggled to accelerate. While attempting to merge onto freeways the vehicle would attempt to accelerate and then it would not shift causing the vehicle to be much slower. This occurred while I was driving cross country to move. The CVT transmission is the culprit. I am being told my VIN is not covered despite there being a known issue with these transmissions during the model year. This issue occurred without warning and compromised my safety and the safety of other drivers as the transmission would fail to shift unexpectedly at critical moments during driving.

I am filing a claim here today because I feel that Nissan has ripped me off in coverage of my Nissan Rouge. I was told by 4 different people about the CVT Transmission problem that has been going on with Nissan Rouge Vehicles. I was stranded on the side of the interstate 84 with two small children. I had to get into an UBER because tow truck couldn't allow more than 2 in truck. Of course I could not leave 1 child. My vehicle should be covered under warranty because this is a known problem with Nissan Rouge vehicles. However, Nissan is not covering this issue on my vehicle.

Transmission is the issue. It is available for inspection. I have to have my transmission fluid changed every 8,000 miles - my car will stop at red lights/stop signs. The RPM’s will go up but the car will not move. This has almost caused multiple accidents as the car behind me thinks I am going when I cannot move. If I stop, I may not get going for several seconds. It’s taken up to a couple minutes at times. This has been looked at by our mechanic and it does this for him as well. There are NO warnings. No check engine light, no change in the car. No signs of this happening. It is terrifying not knowing when this may happen. The transmission fluid is black when we get it changed after inly 8,000 miles.

Ongoing issue with transmission. Original incident was loss of acceleration at on-ramp to highway. Continued driving, no repeatable issue. Later code P1778 with intermittent hesitation after idle-stop in traffic. Ordered replacement “stepper motor”. Tried changing transmission fluid, filters, “stepper motor,” oil cooler flush. Now vehicle does not go into reverse and _continuously_ hesitates after idle-stop in traffic. Consistent hesitation after stopping causes other drivers to tailgate, swerve and become obscene. Problem has not yet been observed or confirmed by dealer. Component has not yet been inspected by police, manufacturer or insurance representative. There was no warning light before the initial failure.

Transmission failure was diagnosed. The car stopped accelerating on me on winding back roads putting myself and others at risk. Nissan told me there are no recalls so they will not repair it. This is the second issue I had with the car, however the first was not related to safety concerns. This one most certainly is! My life was at risk as a curvy road has blind spots other vehicles will not expect a car to be broken down when they come around a curve. This is due to the 2013 Nissan Rogue Transmission failure my SUV only has 97,000 miles

2013 Nissan stalled and suddenly RPMs s went up and would not accelerate and I was out in the middle of the HI way was not able to accelerate had to coast over on the side of the HI way. would not move forward or backward. close to causing serious car accident.

On June 25, 2013, I purchased a 2013 Rogue. Within 17 months I experienced transmission problems. I had 2 mechanics test drive the Rogue and both said to bring the vehicle back to the dealership and have the transmission checked - which I did. The dealer said he saw no problem, but the vehicle kept making noise and hesitated to accelerate and I kept complaining to the dealer (East Coast Nissan) located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, who has now been out of business for a few years. I went to Riverside Nissan in Hackensack, NJ. All I got from the dealership was they would do a maintenance check and if there was a problem it would show up. They found nothing wrong. I took the vehicle to my mechanic, and he said to bring it back to the dealer. Now, after almost 10 years of owning the Rogue, Riverside Nissan...

THERE HAS BEEN A ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION FOR 5 YEARS AT LEAST AND AS OF 2 WEEKS AGO, THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT.

I was traveling on the interstate and the vehicle RPMs jumped up to 4k but the vehicle began to slow down. I removed my foot from the accelerator to reduce the RPMs and then reapplied the accelerator which increased the RPMs to close to 5k but the vehicle continued to slow down. I traveled in the emergency lane until the next exit as the vehicle continued to lose speed down to 20 MPH. At the end of the exit ramp, I came to a complete stop and needed to make a left turn. During this turn, the vehicle did not exceed 10 MPH even though the RPMs exceeded 4k. Once I reached the parking lot of the gas station, I turned the car off. I opened the hood to see if there was anything noticeably wrong and was not able to identify anything. I restarted the vehicle and everything seemed...

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and lost motive power while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed her the failure was due to the CVT transmission. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

At 96,000 miles, I was driving and the CVT transmission went out. I was able to pull over but had to have the car towed for service. Nissan has had numerous problems with failing CVT transmissions, some recalled. I had service done from the dealership - $6,000 was what I paid after negotiating a quote for $1,000 more for a new transmission. I did notice a revving issue just prior to the failure - RPM gauge showing fluctuations.

Lack of power under acceleration when driving upgrade hills. Engine RPMs increases but vehicles did not accelerate and stayed at about 40 mph in highway (with whining noise and oil smell). On the way back home, same thing happened when stopped at a traffic light, vehicle would not move with engine RPMs increases.

After about 1.5 hours of highway driving, the car suddenly started slowing down even with cruise control. When I exited, car shuddered and became sluggish at the STOP sign. I was afraid I would get hit behind on the highway. This is a transmission problem that has occurred multiple times in the last 16 months and is worsening. About 15 months ago, we changed the transmission fluid, which improved things but for only 8-9000 miles. Now it is worse than before.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, he heard a strange whining noise then the vehicle inadvertently started to shutter, shake, and vibrated. The contact also stated that the RPM increased and was stuck. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the CVT transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

When you drive highway speed for 45 mins it will drop your speed to about 45 you can't accelerate there is no power to get back up to speed and if you pull over and stop you can't go anywhere for a while. It is very unsafe ad this has happen to me in heavy traffic.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle decelerated to 45 MPH. The contact stated that the vehicle would not exceed 45 MPH. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to the used car dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that neither the authorized dealer nor the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

When driving the car it will start to slow down though i hit the gas it doesn't do anything, I have to try to find a safe place to pull over and not get hit by another car while doing so. If I stop and wait it will sometimes get better, but it started doing it more often so I stopped driving it. I'm usually driving in town on flat roads when it happens. There are no warning lights coming on, the engine temp gauge doesn't show overheating. If I put the transmission in neutral I can push the gas pedal and the RPM increases but not when the transmission is in gear. The battery is fine and has no starting issues. I have checked fluid levels and they are full.

Driving on NYS thruway when my vehicle suddenly started losing speed. I had the gas floored and could not get the car to accelerate. My speed dropped to 40 MPH with cars coming up fast behind me. I put on my flashers and exited the thruway.

Initially had transmission(Control valve) repaired/replaced in 2018 due to it stopping suddenly while on the highway. Gradually I began noticing it start to shudder(in particular while in drive but stopped), slow to accelerate and felt like it wasn't "catching" when hitting the gas and then jerks forward. Check engine light came on last week(Code P1740) and was informed it was the transmission and valve circuit again.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 60-70 MPH, for approximately 30 minutes, the RPM revved up however, the vehicle started decelerating independently and was making abnormal whining sounds. There was no warning light illuminated. The accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond and continued to decelerate. The contact veered to the side of the road for a moment. The contact continued driving however, the failure reoccurred after driving for 30 minutes. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she needed to pay for a diagnostic test and repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

My 2013 Rogue air bag light started flashing randomly. This truck hasn't been in an accident. The other issue is with the transmission. I had previously experienced issues with the speed not accelerating when it heats up. Now my transmission light came on and it makes a wining noise. I was on the road and it started acting up not picking up speed. I was on a 70 highway and had to pull over wait for half an hour. Only difference is now my transmission light came on. It has 89k miles.

i have had my vehicle for 4 years with no issues and recently started having transmission issues. the car will loose power on the highway risking my life and my children on interstate 78. i have to pull over and turn off the car and wait 20 minutes before it works somewhat. if stopped at a light the car does not go and the pedal depressed all the way to the floor. i will be contacting nissan. i did enter my vin information for the recall for 2013 vehicles nut this one was not part of that recall. please help. this is very dangerous for anyone and expensive to repair even if you take care of your car.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the airbag clockspring was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as normal. The failure recurred on several occasions with the cruise control activated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.

I was driving down the highway from the airport headed back home, and the car started to lose power. My foot was pressing the pedal to accelerate but the RPMS went past 3-4K and the speed kept going down. No engine lights showed up on the dash or any type of warning. I pulled over on the brim of the highway, I called someone who said to let it sit for a while and try again - i checked my radiator fluid - it was fine and didn't over heat. All electrical components work - i could barely accelerate. I was able to coast for a while at 60 mph and then when i needed to accelerate nothing happened. I tried to call the dealership today and they said there is no safety recalls - but i can see there is a CVT extended warranty in place, but not until...

At 156k I'm getting told I have to replace my slipping transmission. I just recently had to replace my lower control arms. Diagnosed to replace my CV axle. Also, last year I had to pay to have my seat belts fixed since the rear passenger belts would not buckle leaving serious safety risks for my children
#11462567 |
The transmission is going out and the car is less than 10 years old and it just hit 119,817 miles. I looked at the information on the Nissan Rogue's and it states that the manufacturer had a extended warranty on some of their Rogue's transmissions but not all of them for transmission repair, only some of their Rogues, because they apparently build a crappy transmission. I've looked up this extended warranty and any recall notices here but there are none showing. How do we get Nissan to fix their mess? This is ridiculous! I was driving down the interstate with my 9 month old grandson, when my car lost power and started jerking; I had to pull over and wait until the traffic was cleared so I didn't cause an accident. The car wouldn't go any faster the 18 MPH , not a safe place of the older lady and...

Just last week, the RPMs on my 2013 Nissan Rogue started going crazy, ramping up and down, the car started jerking -- turns out it was a sign of the transmission slipping -- but it returned to "normal" after a few minutes. We continued driving and were on the highway on our way home when all of a sudden, the car went from doing 65 mph to about 15 mph, even though my husband had his foot all the way down on the gas. It was petrifying as we were on a high-speed highway with a speed limit of 65 mph (with many people doing 80 mph), and in addition to our safety, we were concerned about our unborn baby--as I am 3 months pregnant. Thankfully this happened when we weren't terribly far from home and we were able to make it, riding on the shoulder with our hazards on...

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, there was a clicking and rattling noise coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that metal fragments were present inside the transmission. No further information was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 46,000.

Airbag lights randomly came on. I had to look up how to turn it off from YouTube and it worked. The transmission slips when hot meaning when I am stopped at a stop light and I go to push on the gas, first gear doesn’t kick in and I cannot operate for 5 seconds then it punches into place. If I am driving nonstop on the highway, the gears will go into over drive or won’t shift over and stay at max 3000rpm so I can only go about 45mph at that time. Everything appears fine until an hour or so into driving. The transmission fluid looks brown and because it’s a CVT transmission, the whole thing would have to be replaced. My dad works on cars and I also had called shops all around my area to simply get a fluid flush. Nissan has recalled their CVT transmission for...

I Have a 2013 Nissan Rogue AWD Sport. There is no single incident. Just the issue of the CVT Transmission breaking down every year I've owned this stupid car. Everything is fine. The car is 185k miles and do all the regular maintenance and the car is fine. The only issue is the Transmission has literally broken every year and the warranty even covered the first transmission break which happened within 3 months and then less than a year repaired/fixed by replacing the CVT with a refurbished transmission. Then about over a year later had a $2400 repair job on all the gaskets and seals on the transmission because of leaking and slipping. Same issue we'd push the gas and nothing would happen. Here I am about a year later on the dot from the $2400 repair and starting skippin and slipping again and my mother in law took the...

The contact's daughter owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate and vibrate upon the depression of the accelerator without warning. The contact then called the manufacturer where he was informed about an extended warranty that had been placed on certain model vehicles for the failure; however, his year vehicle was not included. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 MPH, the vehicle made clicking and rattling sounds. Additionally, the vehicle was shaking. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics and diagnosed with transfer case assembly - Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) failure. The transfer case assembly - Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSFER CASE HAD METAL FRAGMENTS IN IT.

While driving on the highway the car the vehicle shudders/vibrates and the stops accelerating even when the throttle is pressed to the floor. Example: If I am driving at 80 miles an hour with my foot on the throttle, the vehicle will begin to decline in speed (dropping to 70 or 60 miles an hour) and will not accelerate any faster once additional pressure is placed on the throttle. After thorough review, it was found that this is a common issue with the 2013 Nissan Rogues. According to Vehiclehistory.com, Nissan extended the 2013 Nissan Rogue transmission warranty to 10 years and 120,000 miles for the continuously variable transmission (CVT) in the 2013 Rogue. This site, (Nhtsa.gov) also has multiple complaints regarding the Power Train on the 2013 Rogues listing the same issues. Upon contacting the Regal Nissan Dealership located at 1090 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA 30076, I was informed...
