There is another recall 2nd one for this vehicle that now I cannot charge it . Park near other vehicles or in my garage due to fear of fire. Dealership says they are doing approx 1-2 a month and I am #59 on the list. I have not been offered a replacement vehicle. They told me I could not trade it in because it is “unsellable”.
Shutting off when I make stops have to put in park start over
I am submitting this complaint regarding a confirmed safety-related defect and manufacturer nonresponse involving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe, VIN [XXX] . The failed component is the high-voltage hybrid battery system. The vehicle and battery pack are currently located at an authorized Jeep dealership and are available for inspection. The vehicle was delivered to the dealership on December 29, 2025 for recall-related service. On December 30, 2025, the dealership confirmed a high-voltage battery failure. A STAR case was opened and escalated to Stellantis engineering. The vehicle was immediately removed from service and has remained unusable since that date. Prior to removal from service, the vehicle experienced repeated loss of propulsion, Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable messages, and driveline warnings during normal operation. These symptoms were reported over multiple service visits and documented by video. The vehicle was repeatedly returned to service with repair notes stating “could not replicate” and assurances...
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated, and the vehicle jerked abnormally while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair, and the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was initiated. The contact was concerned that the dealer was trying to charge a fee and advised the dealer to start with the recall repair, which was free of charge. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,500.
Lost all power to vehicle after driving for approximately 40 minutes, around 60-70 MPH. I was driving on the highway and then lost all power. I was able to pull off of the interstate and got a few blinking messages. The only one I remember was "Shift to P to Start". I could not accelerate at all and probably had less than a minute to get to safety before the car coasted to a stop and I was forced to put the car in park and turn it back on. It seemed like a forced restart on a computer but you could not choose the time or place to do it and there was very little warning. This is a huge safety issue!
OFFICIAL REPORT: UNJUSTIFIED DENIAL OF SAFETY REMEDY & DATA INCONSISTENCY - VIN: 1C4JJXN6XPW623043 I am filing this official complaint regarding a significant barrier to resolving Safety Recall 68C (Battery Fire Risk) and Recall 78C on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. 1. DEBUNKING MANUFACTURER CLAIMS: Stellantis Middle East (Ref: FA-25274) has declined to perform the remedy, claiming authorized dealers in my region lack the necessary equipment. This is FACTUALLY INCORRECT. The manufacturer's own portal (jeep.com) confirms that Recall 04B (HCP Software Update) was successfully REPAIRED on this VIN by the local authorized dealer (Harlem Cars). 2. DISAPPEARING SAFETY RECORDS: I possess a prior screenshot from the official portal confirming that Recall 95B (High Voltage Battery) was also successfully REPAIRED by the same dealer. However, this record has recently DISAPPEARED from the active recall list on the manufacturer's website. This removal of a safety record, combined with the current denial of service,...
Two months ago the vehicle decided to not work at all. Couldn’t turn it on couldn’t move it. Had to have it towed where they kept it for 3 weeks and said it was main battery and replaced it. Fast forward to yesterday 12/29 and the engine light came on again. Waiting for dealership to contact when they’ll have loaner vehicle. But this is the second time in 2 months the engine light has come on. We bought the vehicle in September a month later in the shop. Now again going back to the shop. This vehicle has UNDER 30k miles and I’m not a a very happy customer right now.
This is the third time my vehicle has been recalled for battery issues. Twice it has been noted that I should not drive, charge, park my vehicle in my garage, or park it near any building or person because of vehicle fire risk. In both 2023 and 2024 they performed a software update and yet this issue still persist. In 2024, since they didn't have a fix for the problem they said we should not drive our vehicle and I was without a vehicle for 2 months. Now in 2025 they are recalling for the same fire issue for the third time. Again, I am advised not to drive, not to charge, not to park in my garage, and to keep the vehicle away from people and buildings. I have again been without a vehicle for almost a month. I spoke to the dealer this morning and again they have...
A 2nd recall has been issued for the Hybrid Battery system and once again Jeep has no remedy available. My safety is at risk to due to the possibility of a car fire. I am also unable to use the car as intended due to safety concerns. Jeep needs to be held accountable for selling a very expensive vehicle that not only does not work properly but could catch on fire. It is unacceptable for owners to be left in limbo due to the negligence shown by Jeep. If they cannot sell a car that operates safely then they should be made to reimburse the owners.
While driving at about 55 mph my Wrangler shut down and dash read to put car in park to calibrate battery. I had to bring vehicle to side of road and try to restart. It did restart. I had a recall addressed at Marc Motors Sanford Maine service dept back in April 18, 2025. For recall for high voltage. Not sure why recall is showing incomplete? I am very scared to drive this car. I called the dealership in which directed me to call Jeep customer service. No one could help me. I was told I had to pay for a rental. I do not have such funds. In the mean time I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle that shuts off anytime while driving. I'm leasing this vehicle from Stellantis and still have no help or support. I'm afraid to drive this car. I have no other means...
On 11/7/25 I brought my Jeep Wrangler 4xe for the two active recalls and an oil change. The battery recall could not be done. The motive power was supposedly fixed. Since then there has been a new problem. The Jeep gets to the point of stall (like the motive power issue) however right before the stall it surges. This really caught me off guard the first few times and I barely avoided three accidents. Now I know when it feels like it is going to stall to be prepared to slam on the breaks. However this is not really a good situation they really need to do a full recall to fix this thing. I noticed you gave an open investigation and I think it is a separate issue from the loss of motive power issue and I think the fix for the motive power problem has exacerbated this problem...
WE ARE SCARED TO DRIVE OUR VEHICLE AND WE HAVE GRANDKIDS WHO RIDE WITH US . I WOULD LIKE THE DEALERSHIP TO ALLOW US TO TRADE THIS IN WITHOUT ANY HASSLE. URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED An urgent safety recall has been issued for this vehicle and the manufacturer has recommended that you follow their instructions on how and where to park this vehicle. More information is available under NHTSA Recall Number 25V741000. Oct 30,2025 Manufacturer Recall Number68C NHTSA Recall Number25V-741 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary In rare circumstances, a battery pack may contain cells with separator damage. Separator damage, combined with other complex interactions within the cells, may lead to a vehicle fire. Safety Risk A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners...
We are contacting you today because our 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started to exhibit some concerning issues: On a fully charged battery, our Jeep started normally in hybrid mode. After 10-15 miles (down to 51% battery capacity), power switched to Internal Combustion Engine (Engine) After parking, upon restart and re-restart, various malfunctions appeared on dashboard: - Straight to engine power (engine noise), not on electric power (even when still in hybrid mode) - "Service charging system” alert - Engine light on - Plug light on - Battery light on - "Blind spot service unavailable, service required” - On right dial showing “Power" and “Charge", abnormal (?) temporary swing down towards “Charge" - AC not working (no warning, no alert) - Battery still showing 51% After parking, when attempting to charge: - Charging lights start off normally but stop (?) after 30 seconds, and - “Service charging system” flashes back on...
Dealer will not remedy the recall of potential battery fire
The contact's mother owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The accelerator pedal was depressed, and the contact stated that the vehicle was wobbling. The contact stated that the wobbling started at 50 MPH. No warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that several times the vehicle shut off and needed to be jump-started. The contact stated that the vehicle became undriveable. The vehicle was taken to two separate dealers and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's mother received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V111000 (Visibility), 24V720000 (Electrical System), and 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and...
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where it was diagnosed with engine and electrical failures. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact was concerned about driving the vehicle because of the possibility of the vehicle catching on fire. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
Last week the cat went in for the open recalls. However the electrical and propulsion problems are still going on so I think it’s more than software. The car jerks and come close to stalling almost like a standard transmission with the clutch not catching properly. Additionally, and this is separate and does not occur with the problem described above. The dashboard lights randomly go off. It has no correlation to anything just randomly shut off then come back on.
On October 25th, 2025 my husband and I were driving home on the freeway. All of a sudden, without any warning notice or check engine light, my hybrid 2023 Jeep caught on fire as we were in it driving down the freeway. The fire started under the hood and under us. Flames were coming up the sides of the Jeep as we drove and were getting bigger then coming in the vents and under the hood. My husband pulled the Jeep over to the shoulder and we quickly got out and away from the Jeep and called 911 for help. Cars were still driving down the freeway as the Jeep was engulfed in flames. Our safety was put at high risk since we were driving on the freeway at highway speeds and the Jeep caught on fire without any warning and my husband and I were sitting inside the Jeep...
I have a hybrid jeep 4xe, 2023. Allegedly unaffected by the software issue over the weekend that caused countless issues for 2024 and 2025 jeeps. My 2023 jeep wrangler 4xe stopped suddenly while driving. Unfortunately, I panicked in the moment, so I do not remember if it completely powered off or if it just lost propulsion, but it stopped. I had to turn the car off and then back on to get it to go the next day. My check engine light came on for about 24 hours and went off again.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact called AAA and was informed that the battery was being drained by an unknown electrical fault. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the valve cover and steering module timing cover needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer added an extended warranty. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was an import from Canada, and there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
Sudden loss of power. We experienced a sudden loss of engine power. The vehical is currently at a dealership for repairs. We have been informed this is a known issue and a service bulletin has been issued. We are shocked that we were not notified. We were on I75 and had the traffic not been light it is very possible we would not have been able to maneuver out of the way of other vehicals. This is not like a rattle or minor malfunction. The engine suddenly and without warning quit producing power. Adress this now before drivers are killed or injured.
My son was turning out of a parking lot and the car suddenly stopped moving and went into park. He couldn’t shift out of park and was stuck in the middle of a very busy street with cars slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting him. The car had to be towed away.
Jeep 4XE loss of motive power. Was driving and warning came on to Service Charging System and lost all power while driving on freeway. Had to coast to a safe place to pull over. Screen told me to put vehicle in park. Put it in park, turned engine off, then turned it back on and it drove fine. Posted to Jeep 4XE group as this issue seems fairly common on there and they mentioned that you guys are looking into this issue and called it loss of motive power.
I recently rented this vehicle from Budget. I had the vehicle for 3 weeks before I found out it had a recall on it. I took a look into it and the recall was out there since September of 2024. Not only that it was a major issue. The vehicle could’ve caught fire. This is very alarming to me because I had the vehicle for so long. I rented the vehicle in April of 2025. This vehicle should not have been available to rent. I tried to attach the conversation I had with the locations manager on the day I returned it stating that the vehicle was on the recall list but I reached out to him no one from Budget contacted me. I have supporting documents but I’m not able to attach them. I have my rental contract that states the date and also the email between the manager...
2023 vehicle no problems until 95B safety recall was performed. Warning light low air next day. Two wks after recall serv. and less than 4-6 months after reg. Maint. & oil change the check engine light came on upon start. Checked and the black coolant reservoir the caps dip stick was void of fluid I was told. Called dealer to advise. Visited dealership the head mechanic dx that the gas cap seal is bad.the check engine light off and not the low to empty coolant. Complaint is the warning light panel. The electrical wires exposed hanging broken small panel on the passengers side of the rearview mirror. Noticed after pickup from dealership. This was addressed with service depart. These panel, coolant, panel broke handing wires, gas cap seal are all issues after recall services. I believe it is unlikely just electrical issues that occurred when it was recently in for...
The 2023 Jeep Wrangler has been inspected by two different dealerships 6-7 times, and I have submitted four cases through Jeep Wave, including a request for a buyback. While driving on the highway or on city streets, the vehicle experiences a speed reduction to 5-10 miles per hour, with a stiff steering wheel and hard brakes. Warning messages appear, including: "Engine Light," "Service Transmission. Continue in D. Do Not Shift or Turn Off Engine Until You Reach a Desired Location. You May Not Be Able to Shift Again Until Serviced," and "Brake is Not On," even when the vehicle is in park. The vehicle has malfunctioned twice on the highway while driving at 65-70 miles per hour and several times during heavy traffic at 5 PM. This raises significant safety concerns, especially on the highway, where a malfunction could pose a danger to others on the road. Although the issue...
The car lost all power while driving in traffic. Speed was ~30mph and at coming up to an intersection the car was acting erratically and the dash indicator lights all lit up. I went to slow down and move out of traffic and the car lost all engine power and electrical power. I could not restart the vehicle.
2 incidents of loss of power with the electric motor at high speed. The hybrid electric motor unexpectedly lost power at 75 mph on the highway, alongside other vehicles moving at the same speed. This sudden loss of power caused the vehicle to drop to 55 mph, and not go above that speed, risking a potential collision from behind. Driving at 55 mph on Texas highways with a speed limit of 75 mph is very dangerous. The second time was exactly like the first but at 60mph. It has not been able to be reproduced. it has been inspected several time by the dealership. There was no warning of any kind.
Loss of power when driving with no warning. Jeep power cut out driving with D flashing. Safety risk was a car on the road driving with traffic then no power. Pulled over to the side to get off the road as far as I could. “Service Hybrid System” message appeared with blinking D. Started back up 20 minutes later. Dealer could not replicate.
My vehicle is waiting for a fix for Recall 24V720000 / 95B – It is totally unacceptable that Jeep has no time frame for a solution for this horrific safety issue however my vehicle is having another even more dangerous issue that Jeep refuses to acknowledge and I know I am not the only one with this serious defect. My vehicle (2023 4Xe with 5000 miles) losses acceleration power… This has happened at least 10x over the past 5 months. The check engine light often flashes on and off or stays on steady during this. When engaging the gas pedal at various speeds (30-65MPH) the gas fails to respond or output any power causing the vehicle to slowdown dramatically. SIGNIFICANT risk of being crashed into. It takes flooring the gas pedal and anywhere from it 10-25 seconds for the power to kick back in / engage and accelerate. I have...
On August 18, 2024 after charging the vehicle it showed a 95% charge instead of 100%. Immediately after attempting to drive the car, it began to stall and multiple warning laps/messages were on the dash board including “service charging system, check engine, red plug light, red battery light, red wrench with lightning bolts, red lightning bolt with backwards parentheses)(.” Car was not able to be driven more than a few miles per hour and a few feet before it stalled. During an attempt to drive the car and move it to a secure parking spot, the car stalled and large amounts of smoke came out of the exhaust smelling like burning. Car was towed to dealership. Car was unable to be towed onto the tow truck, tow truck driver had to just start the car 3 times and drive it up the tow truck ramp with jumper pack attached to...
While driving on [XXX] to upstate NY in heavy traffic on [XXX], my Jeep Wrangler 4xe lost power and showed the error message "Put vehicle in Park and shift gear" while at highway speed. I had no ability to accelerate but steering was still enabled and allowed me to pull over to the side of the road to investigate. Fortunately I was being followed by another member of my family and they provided a bit of a roadblock to allow us to navigate the traffic. At the time power was lost, the console had several warning lights including the check engine light, multiple battery system lights and others. After shutting the Jeep off, it started up again normally as if nothing had happened. I called the dealer who basically said they couldn't reproduce the issue but it had happened to others and clears on its own. Additionally, up to this...
The safety of this vehicle is a ticking time bomb. We are instructed not to park in or near a structure, near other vehicles, or charge it. Even if I don’t not charge it how am I supposed to park at my own home? How am I supposed to park at work? You are putting several lives at risk not to mention others vehicles, houses, businesses. I do search and rescue and have my k9 with me pretty much at all times. I am told it can ignite at anytime but it’s ok to leave my dog in? Where is the safety and concern over my highly trained k9 let alone family pet. I will never feel safe with this car again. I asked if they even replaced the battery if they could tell me it wouldn’t happen with the new battery and I could park back in my garage...
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and then stalled. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being parked, the engine independently revved up. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure had occurred several times while his wife was driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure started to occur approximately six months after the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was taken to two dealers; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact's wife was accused of driving the vehicle incorrectly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for...
This is a hybrid vehicle. I received a recall notice that the vehicle cannot be plugged in to charge or parked near any other vehicles or structures until the recall is repaired. I work at a mall, and I live in an apartment building, so this is not possible for me. It feels dangerous to own this car. I purchased it to save on gas, and now I can’t even do that for the foreseeable future. None of the local dealerships and nobody online has any information on when these parts will be available. 2 dealerships could not give me any information or assistance. I was told to fill out this form.
Recall- 95B - Hight Voltage Battery, there is no fix for the problem at the present time. Now the vehicle can no longer be charges and must run on gasoline. The vehicle was purchased with the intention of using the battery to go to and from work on a single charge. The vehicle can no longer be charged or parked in our garage due to potential fire risk.
On July 15th , July 30th and August 11th 2024 the gas pedal on my less than 2 month old Jeep Wrangler 4xE did respond / engage while driving and pressing on the pedal. It felt like the car was dying. This happened at three different speeds, 65mph on the highway, 30mph on a side road and around 40mph on a state road. In addition to the gas pedal not working/ vehicle not moving forward the vehicle also seemed to slow it self down, like i was breaking however i was not and as the vehicle slowed down it was shaking vigorously all 3 times. This is incredibly dangerous and unsafe. I contacted over 20 jeep dealerships and jeep corporate before I was able to get an appointment - this vehicle was looked at by a dealership and I have been told they 'have no codes' and 'everything is fine'...
Purchased 8/5/2024. Driving 45mph on 8/9/2024 -all warning lights began going on and off then Jeep just stopped leaving the D flashing and the message to press brake and push to start. Took a few moments to get it into Park. Restarted and took to dealer. They charged all batteries and returned 4 days later. 2 days later, Next incident, 25 mph shut down, almost hit from behind and had to deal with irate driver. Resumed after getting into park and switched to gas mode to drive to dealership. Picked up 6 days later and told no codes so no problem. 3 more incidents, remains at dealership service since 8/26/24.
While driving in all electric mode, car abruptly lost power and would not accelerate. After power loss, car lunged forward abruptly without noticeable cause. I worried I had been hit from behind and quickly checked the rearview mirror, but nothing had impacted the back of my Jeep. “D” symbol for “drive” on the shifter was flashing. Not sure what was happening on the instrument panel. I hurried and shut off the ignition and then restarted it and the vehicle started up again without issue. Jeep is currently at the dealer for inspection. There were no prior indications or warning lights on in the vehicle when this occurred. It could have been much more dangerous should I have been moving at a faster speed on the highway. I was fortunately moving in thick morning traffic and not on a highway when the loss of power occurred.
I was going 70 with my child in my car and The car seemed like it lost communication and I was on a highway with cars moving around me and almost hitting me . Car engine overheats after I’ve taken it to jeep several times.
This has now happened multiple times. The first time this happened, i was driving on the freeway and my car had started flashing lights telling me my electrical charging system was faulty. When this flashed, my "D" (for drive) on my dashboard started blinking and the car lost power. I was in the fast lane with no shoulder and had to pull 5 lanes over, nearly hitting an unquantifiable amount of cars. When the car reached roughly 15-10 miles per hour as I was merging, it put itself into park and would not let me shift back into gear. At this point I was still in the number 2 lane and had cars swerve around me. I tried turning on the car multiple times and finally after the fifth or sixth time, it turned on and drove to the shoulder. The dealership was unable to replicate the issue but had...
Engine turns off completely in mid drive on highway. Unable to turn engine back on. Issue occurred on 7/31/24 after the vehicle was repaired and returned on the following Friday 08/09/24 engine turned off again in mid drive on the highway on 8/14/24. Me and my wife dodged a TWO near death experiences due to the engine failure occurring mid drive on the highway driving 70 mph during rush hour traffic. We barely had enough time to use the reserved power from the failed engine to move the vehicle immediately to the emergency lane. This vehicle has now turned into a safety hazard.
I just purchased this car on Monday. While driving it Tuesday it completely shut off on me.
2023 Jeep 4xe - Loss of Motive Power This is the 2nd time i have had Loss of Motive Power. Both time running Highway Speeds. 68MPH, Cruise set, (Speed Limit 70), 1,800RPM, 20 %Power. Vehicle just losses power. RPM Drops to 0 and % Power drops to 0. (Sorry not to clear on dashboard data as trying to safely get car out of heavy traffic and on side of road) Dash show something red on Plug in, Then1st that Vehicle is limit mode/limited speed, and 2nd, pull over when safely able. Then 3rd Shift to P then Desired Gear. Florida driving, 1st time in afternoon. sunny, outside Temp. was 86. 2nd time in morning, dusk, outside temp was 79.
jeep just shut down while heading down interstate 81 about 70 mph in far 3fd left lane not much time to exit the highway had to sit on the left side of the highway and put in Park and restart it did start up after the complete shutdown
Loss of power while driving in Electric mode with sufficient battery charge left. This has happened multiple times at speeds greater than 55 MPH. No error codes were reported on the dash. Required the car to be put manually into hybrid mode for power to be restored.
When driving the jeep and the engine light comes on (this light comes on and off repeatedly but is mostly on). When the light is on you will have major issues when trying to accelerate regardless of the speed. if you push the gas to full acceleration the speed will drop down from 3-5 mph or completely drop to zero. If you leave your foot on the gas it will take 15-30 seconds for the engine to engage and provide power. It feels like its trying to look to the battery EV motor for power even though the battery is dead. in same cases the engine does not restart at all and i have had to pull over to the hard shoulder to pull off of live traffic. I have several videos showing the issue. i have been to the deal 4 times to have this reviewed and they keep...
Apparent temporary loss of motive power
The 2023 jeep wrangler 4ex shutdown on highway at speed 75 mile/h!!!!! And cannot restart, gear only in P position. Only towing
While driving the vehicle it will suddenly shut down the engine. Then the letter "D" starts to blink on the gear shift lever. I am able to restart the car by turning it off, waiting for 5 minutest and then restart the car. I turned in the car 3 weeks ago and they still do not know what the problem is.
