2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Electrical System Problems

On February 3, Tuesday drove home from work. The battery light came on. I Drove to AutoZone and they placed it on Diagnostic reader. The diagnostic reader said that the battery had no charge. They told me I need a new battery. I replaced the battery. The next morning, I placed the jeep into auto start. So the Jeep can warm up. When I went outside, there was smoke coming from underneath the hood of the Jeep. I quickly turn off the Jeep and pop the hood. My husband open the hood and can see smoke coming from the alternator. He turned around to turn off his vehicle that was running. I started to video recording the incident and stopped it right away when I started to see flames coming out of the alternator. My husband and I quick action was to grab snow that was next to the Jeep...

My right side suspension has a hard time coming up and I can hear it then it eventually get to right level and my car is freaking out have every light come on and the windshield wipers but it doesn't always do it but I have videos. The codes I get say malfunctional control u1403 and other ones

Started Jeep and after driver info cycled through on dash, the battery warning light came on. Battery had been replaced by local Jeep dealer within last 12 months. Contacted dealer, Keller Motors, while sitting in vehicle and made arrangements to drop off. Drove 3 miles to town with light still on. Then seat belt warning light came on and vehicle electrical system suffered complete shut down and would not restart. Got out and detected a smoke smell. Vehicle would not restart. Had vehicle towed to local Jeep dealer and reported issues to service manager. They will look at Jeep next week. Have there been similar incidents reported? My check light is blinking and then it stop says I have a random misfire and I done replaced coils spark plugs fuel injectors and I done paid ppl to look at it they none really know what's wrong and I have from my crankshaft sensor all the way up to my cylinder 2 rewired bc my crank wouldn't let my car start got that fixed and I stil have the issue and it just has the misfire and dont know where its coming from..

Rear Camera has been intermittent since I got the car new and dark image and not crystal clear . The lens is clean and it works intermittently.. the dealership said it would cost $1000.00 to replace the camera.. since there are recalls currently on other jeeps can you help add my vehicle in the mix.. There’s a recall on jeep that causes the jeep to stall while driving which could result in a crash or injury . There’s no recall on my jeep though and it’s doing exactly what the recall is for the other jeeps . I’ve taken it too three different spots including jeep and they don’t know what’s wrong with it.

Foward Collision Warning light stays on no matter what. Vehicle turns off randomly at different times without warning. No power steering no power breaks nothing, vehicle just dies on the freeway, going through intersections.

My car has had recall for over 2 years I’ve contacted multiple dealers to get it replaced no one has gotten to me and my car has been stalling while driving my most recent problem was I was driving on the highway and my car decided to stall and a 18 wheeler was coming behind me and it almost lead I to a wreck that could have cost me my life also my check engine light has come on a thousand times and every problem that it shows on the scan tool I get fixed which lead to me getting 5 tune ups last year and 2 this year because the code shows I need a tune up but it’s something deeper than what is being showed I paid 12k for my vehicle and I have spent double that in price trying to get it fix

My vehicle in the last 2 days has randomly shutoff completely while driving on the highway. I was able to place in neutral, then restart the vehicle thank goodness without being rear-ended or a collision. The vehicle has been repaired before (NHTSA Campaign ID: 19V813000) and (Chrysler's recall number V62). The vehicle at this point I fear is too dangerous to drive. I am going to have the car towed to the dealership in hopes of reinstalling the fuel pump relay hack. There are many of the same complaints online from other drivers with the same vehicle. Something else needs to be done about this soon before someone gets killed.

I was simply driving home from work on 8/30 when all of a sudden I see my alternator smoking. I pull over and let it clear. I then immediately go to auto parts store buy new alternator. Had it professionally installed. Then on my test drive I break down again lose all power Steering etc. I took it to dealership they said it's my power control module.

My vehicles Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) was rewired at a dealership as part of a manufacturer recall. Ever since this has been "rewired" I have had problems with the car shutting off while driving, and as a result, a loss of power steering and power brakes. I notified the dealership, Rentschler Chrysler of Slatington, PA, and they state that everything looks ok with the wiring and that a new TIPM was not part of the recall. This issue has been occurring with my Jeep (2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo) since 2013, two years after I purchased the car brand new. I want to know why Chrysler was not ordered to replace the TIPM with a new part? This has been happening to my car frequently and I have known other people with Jeep, Ram, and Durango problems with stalling while driving.

My car had the airbag indicator light turn on, engine light , battery light come on 7/27/23. Then about a few seconds later, the radio turned off by itself and the car turned off while I was still driving . The car is currently inoperable . I’ve also been having issues with the horn not working , doors, windows locking and unlocking by themselves, engine stalling while driving , car cracks but won’t start , radio shutting off , light failing constantly as well.

Alternator failed while driving with no signs or warning. No emergency lamps came on. The air conditioning nearly quit blowing suddenly while driving and a high pitch whine was heard that corresponded to the acceleration. Then I began to smell burning. By the time I pulled over, smoke was coming out from under the hood. It is now in the shop having the alternator replaced.

The vehicle has had recall 14V530000 performed at a local Jeep dealer in Mishawaka, IN. Vehicle still occasionally shuts off WHILE DRIVING. Called Jeep and they offered no relief. I cannot believe a they dont care about the effectiveness of recall for a known defect likely to cause a crash. AGAIN recall WAS PERFORMED ON THIS VEHICLE (after waiting 6 months for part!) and vehicle still turns off while driving.

My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has had an issue with the Total Integrated Power Module since the year I bought the vehicle new from an authorized Jeep dealer. I have since taken it to Rentschler Chrysler Jeep of Slatington PA multiple time and had the vehicle misdiagnosed (even though I told the service manager that I thought it was the TIPM). The finally did a re-wiring of the TIPM as per the recall that was eventually initiated. Since then I have taken my car back multiple times as the issue is not resolved. This vehicle stops while driving. It happens when it comes to a stop or slow down. Will turn off. In some instances I have lost my power brakes. This has been happening since November of 2022. The dealership has replaced the recall part, the fuel pump relay. Still happens. They thought it could be low transmission fuel. No, still happened. They have driven it over 100 miles and it wouldn’t replicate for them so they say they cannot fix it because there is no check engine light on. This is a safety hazard.

My car went completely haywire. Windshield wipers going crazy while driving and not being able to stop them. Car alarm is going on and off without cause. Door locks going up and down. SOMETIMES WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON THE CAR TRIES TO TURN OVER FOR HALF A SECOND THEN STOPS. ALL GAUGES AND DISPLAY SHOWS THE CAR IS ON. PUSHING THE START BUTTON AGAIN DOES NOTHING. MUST WAIT A MINUTE, PUSH BRAKE IN AND PUSH START BUTTON AGAIN AND IT STARTS. HAPPENS MANY MULTIPLE TIMES BUT CAN NOT NARROW DOWN TO AS WHY.

SUV stalls when coming to a stop while making a right turn or while stopping at a light. Power steering and brakes quit working. There are no diagnostic codes thrown for the dealer to check into. This occurs at least three to four times a week. I only commute 4 miles a day. Fortunately everytime this occurs I have been able to come to a stop and no other cars have been near. But if a car was on the street I am turning onto I would have hit their car. The dealer has replaced a few things that could possibly be wrong but the issue does not give diagnostic code to investigate. This is a known issue with Chrysler for this year model and several other years but my Jeep Grand cherokee has no recalls for it.

Aloha i have a 2011 jeep grand cherokee that is over heating. It started when leading up to the recall for a fuel pump relay. The part didnt really exist is what the dealership mention. They would put an order in for the part but it took almost 2 months for it to come in then they put the part in jeep has never drove the same. I pulled up the code P0443 evap system I change that checked codes still had code n problem. I'm running out of option n money about to give up. Pls help is possible would like to jus get another vehicle but I spent mosr of my funds trying to find the jeep smh. Help

Problem with the PCM. No warning if goes out. Car will die and not start back up. Will not keep a charge. Windshield wipers will go on without doing anything. Can't put windows up or down. All lights on bash will light up. Lights inside and headlights will go very dim. Not safe

Malfunction of the engine RPM governor, adaptive cruise control, or Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), or some combination of all of the above. On June 7-9, 2022, spontaneous high engine RPM occurred, which resulted in vehicle speeds that were above urban speed limits unless heavy braking pressure was applied. Additionally, on rural highways, the speed setting for the adaptive cruise control was exceeded without driver input. This also required manual breaking in order to control speed. During this situation, the “driver override “ message would appear although no accelerator pedal pressure was being applied. Additionally, the ETC warning light would randomly light up and then clear. When the vehicle was stopped and placed in park, the engine would rev to approximately 4000-5000 RPM. I have gone back and forth to the dealership since I purchased my Jeep. It’s been a horrific time dealing with all of the issues. Seatbelt sensor’s, windshield sensor, fuel pump problem over and over. I’m alive by the grace of God, while on the freeway the Jeep latterly stop. Completely died on me. Nothing to warned me simply shut off. For the longest all I got from the dealership was no replacement was available. Finally in December 2021 it was replaced.
