Recall 14V5300 - replacing fuel pump relay to prevent vehicle not starting and stalling was performed in November 2021. It has not solved the problem. Th Grand Cherokee still does the same thing. I replaced the relay that was replaced in the recall. No help. Chrysler Corp. did not fix the problem. A new recall needs to happen. This Grand Cherokee has stalled slowing down to come to a stop and when slowing down to turn at an intersection. This is very dangerous. It could cause an accident at the intersection. This recall needs to be revisited or a new recall needs to happen to solve this problem. Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was leaving home from work and my car started perfectly fine and I drove like 50ft and the car completely shut down. I tried to jump it car to car but it was draining the other car batteries so I got a tow truck to come out and it jumped the car enough to get it in neutral and then it cut off. I changed the battery and alternator and It cuts on them after about 5-10 min it completely cuts off and won’t turn back on again. Lights on the dashboard pop up too before it cuts off.

Battery light came on then went off so I thought maybe it was all the rain we had? When locking my car I noticed the horn was very low. I replaced my battery last year so I knew that was good. When I tried to start I got nothing! Tried jumping without any luck. Had it towed to my mechanic who could smell the burning parts. Changed the battery, alternator and is now changing the computer. Not only has this been very expensive to fix but the thought of it just happening while I was driving still is on my mind! Not much of a warning! I am just lucky the whole car didn't go up in flames!

Subject: Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland: Failure Date: Sep 29, 2021. Dealer has advised that the "Control Module" for the Alternator is malfunctioning which causes the Alternator to function at maximum capacity all the time and results in the "Battery Warning Notice" on the Instrument Panel. Dealer advises that no replacement "Control Module" is available in the entire US at this time (Control Module is foreign made). According to Dealer, the Alternator will fail, and any replacement unit will also fail. What is the fix for this safety issue?

In March 2021 my wife’s 2011Jeep Grand Cherokee was at Naples Chrysler-Jeep for a stalling problem where while driving, the car’s engine would stop while moving in traffic. Power steering and brakes lost power thereby making it nearly impossible to steer or stop without coasting to the side of the road. There was no warning from the vehicle that there was a problem. Once the car coasted to a stop, my wife was able to put the car in park and restart the car. This happened 4 or 5 times before taking it in for maintenance. After 2 weeks looking for a problem, they replaced a fuel pump relay in the TIPM. Again, in late July the car repeated the stall while driving 2 times. The car is currently at Naples Chrysler Jeep where techs are trying to duplicate the problem with no success. No codes came up during computer...

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Alternator shorted and/or failed diode causing a fire under the hood. Started the vehicle and heard a strange noise from under the hood. Turned the vehicle off and opened the hood. Upon opening the hood smoke bellowed out. I could see an electrical component inside the alternator glowing red. The component glowed red and smoked until the battery was completely drained. While the vehicle didn't start on fire if it had this could have caused a large amount of damage as at the time of the incident the vehicle was parked inside a airport parking garage. Jeep has a recall for 2012 - 2014 models. The 2011 model year needs to be added to the recall. The failed alternator is available for inspection. Failed Component: Alternator, available for inspection Safety/Risk: Vehicle Fire Problem Confirmed By Dealer: Vehicle still in garage, to be towed 7/26/2021 Component Inspected:...

We had the latest recall repair completed for stalling while driving, it was a fuel pump relay I believe. I think we had it repaired in February/March. However this morning while driving to work our jeep stalled while slowing down to turn, the battery stayed on but the engine completely stalled & the power steering went out almost causing us to drive off the road. Luckily the brakes still worked but we had a semi behind us that nearly missed us as it also turned onto the same road.

My vehicle headlights will go on and off. My vehicle at headlights will further flicker on and off if they stay on. My engine will also turn off about 2-3 times a month when braking approaching a stop sign. I’ll have to put my car in park and wait about 10 seconds and the car will start again.

VEHICLE'S ENGINE STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IN 2018 AND THE ENGINE STALLED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FEBRUARY 2019. THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN IN JUNE 2020 AND TWICE IN FEBRUARY 2021. THE ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING USUALLY WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN. I WAS IN DANGER BECAUSE THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT DEAD WITH CARS BEHIND ME. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN REAR-ENDED IN ALL OF THOSE INSTANCES. RECALL WAS PERFORMED, BUT ENGINE STALLED AGAIN ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED. THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING CAUSES THE CAR TO STOP SUDDENLY, AND IT CAN RESULT IN INJURIES, CAR ACCIDENT, LOSS OF LIFE AND OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. LESTER GLENN DEALERSHIP IS WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND THEY WERE THE ONES WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO MONTHS AFTER I BROUGHT IT IN WHEN THE ENGINE...

THIS TIME, AGAIN, THE CODE WAS A #3 MISFIRE! THE SUMMER OF 2019 I HAD THE GARAGE REPLACE THE FAULTY 3 COIL PACKS ALONG WITH A NEW ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS DAMAGED BECAUSE OF THE BAD COIL PACKS, WHICH FIXED THE ISSUE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 AND 1/2 YEARS. THEN THE ISSUE RESURFACED ON CHRISTMAS 2020, SAME PROBLEM.

FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS BEEN STALLING WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC, HAD JUST COME A UP A HILL, I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, MY CAR BUCKED, AND THEN MY CAR "STALLED". THANKFULLY, WE KEPT COASTING, BECAUSE, LIKE I SAID, WE WERE IN A LONG LINE OF TRAFFIC GOING 50 MPH ON A MAJOR ROAD. I PULLED OVER, SHUT MY CAR OFF, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE US THE TWO MILES TO GET BACK HOME. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY TWO CHILDREN IN MY GRAND CHEROKEE, THEREFORE MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN DRIVING MY CAR AND I'VE BEEN DRIVING HIS. SO FAR THIS WEEK, THE GRAND CHEROKEE HAS STALLED SIX TIMES WHILE MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING, USUALLY WHILE HE IS ACCELERATING TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS A RECALL...
