RECALL IS OVER 3 MONTHS AND NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUE SO MANY OWNERS ARE FACING. IT IS DANGEROUS. NHTSA HAS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON SAME ISSUE BUT NO ONE IS MAKING CHRYSLER FIX THE PROBLEM. NO ONE IS GOVERNING THE RECALL. ACCORDING TO NOLO: CONTACT THE NHTSA. I'M NOT GETTING ANYWHERE WITH CHRYSLER COMPANY RECALL SERVICE. MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER HAS A P41 RECALL ON IT, IT WILL DO ALL SORTS OF CRAZY AND UNSAFE THINGS WHEN DRIVING. EXAMPLES: THE JEEP WILL NOT START, WHEN STARTING IT THE IGNITION SWITCH CLICKS, THE POWER IS ON FOR EVERYTHING. JEEP TOLD ME TO PUT IN DRIVE AND THEN BACK IN PARK, THEN TRY TO START IT. THAT DOES NOT WORK. DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE THE JEEP WILL SHUT OFF AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. ONCE PULLED OVER IT NEEDS RESTARTED AND THEN IT RUNS AGAIN. IT ALSO SHIFTS TO 3RD GEAR WHEN COMING OFF THE EXIT RAMP WHEN SPEEDING UP TO GET ON INTERSTATE, AGAIN I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN IT OFF AND RESTART IT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY THE JEEP LOST POWER AT APPROXIMATELY 35MPH FROM THE ON RAMP ON TO THE RIGHT LANE OF THE FREEWAY. ALL THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF, ALL THE GAUGES SHUT DOWN, AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. IT LASTED APPROXIMATELY 4-5 SECONDS, AND AFTER STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE JEEP RE-ENGAGED AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO A SAFE DESTINATION. THE JEEP IS UNDER RECALL P41 FOR IGNITION SWITCH ISSUES, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE CAUSING THE ISSUES, BUT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM CHRYSLER.
