TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN, I CALLED BACK IN LATE 2014 ABOUT A PROBLEM I WAS HAVING, I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE PART WAS MADE I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL TO BRING MY CAR IN TO BE FIXED. WELL IT KEEPS ON HAPPENING AGAIN IN JANUARY AND NOW MORE THEN THREE TIME IN FEBRUARY. I AM NOW GOING TO BE IN CONTACT WITH A LAWYER AND TOGETHER WE WILL BE DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING. I AM A FAMILY OF FIVE AND MY CAR IS NOT SAFE. YOUR COMPANY IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

I HAVE TWO OF THESE 2006 COMMANDERS WHICH ARE DRIVEN BY MY TWO DAUGHTERS. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH MONTHS AGO BUT IT SAID THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, WHICH IS APPARENTLY STILL THE CASE. HOW LONG ARE MY GIRLS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES IN THIS CONDITION? WILL THESE PARTS EVER BE AVAILABLE? I SOLD A PREVIOUS JEEP TO BUY THIS ONE BECAUSE THE OLD ONE, AS I FOUND OUT AFTER I PURCHASED IT, WAS SUSCEPTIBLE TO GAS TANK EXPLOSION. AND NOW THIS. IT WILL SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND THE SQUARES WILL GO AROUND EACH GEAR. I HAD THE RECALL TO UPDATE PROGRAMMING IN THE BOX UNDER THE SHIFTER. BUT APPARENTLY JEEP HAS NO RECORD AND THE DEALERSHIP (WHICH SWITCHED HANDS SINCE IT WAS DONE) HAS NO RECORD OF THIS BEING DONE. THE RECALL WAS DONE IN 2011. I HAVE HAD MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER FOR A YEAR AND IN THAT TIME PERIOD I HAVE HAD A CONSISTENT PROBLEM. WHEN I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE I WILL RANDOMLY LOSE POWER TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WINDOWS , WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND ALMOST EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL. THE ENGINE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN BUT IF IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT I LOSE INTERIOR LIGHTS DASH LIGHTS I CAN'T SEE HOW FAST I AM GOING DUE TO THE PANEL NOT WORKING. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE INSISTS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. I KNOW A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A SEPARATE IGNITION PROBLEM BUT AFTER READING ONLINE AND SEEING MANY OTHER REPORTS JUST LIKE MINE I,BELIEVE THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE TO BE HANDLED. THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BECAUSE WHEN IT ACTS UP IT CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT...

I HAVE 2006 JEEP COMMANDER IN WHICH I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY VEHICLE. THE DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH CAUSES EVERY LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD TO ILLUMINATE AND IT CAUSES MY VEHICLE TO STALL, AS WELL AS FLICKERING LIGHTS WITH NO POWER TO FUEL GAUGES, MPH, AND RPM NEEDLES. AFTER ALL THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND GO AWAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, AND THE DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH DRAINS MY BATTERY CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO NOT START WITHOUT A JUMP START BY THE NEXT DAY. WITH A SLIGHT TAP ON THE KEY IT WILL MOVE SOME OR A BUMP IN THE ROAD WILL MAKE THE IGNITION SWITCH START ACTING UP AND MAKE SOME OF THE PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED SYMPTOMS ACT UP. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A SLIPPERY ROAD DURING A SNOWFALL, MY WIFE OBSERVED ALL OF THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP SIMULTANEOUSLY. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND CONSEQUENTLY A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON THE SLIPPERY ROADWAY.
