TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, ALL THE INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES FRACTURED. THE CONTACT HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR PANELS AND LATCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BECAME FRACTURED AND EXHIBITED SEVERE CRACKS. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT ALLOW THE OCCUPANT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAS BECOME BRITTLE CAUSING THE UNIT TO BREAK POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BECOME TRAPPED. THIS IS CONCERNING ESPECIALLY DURING AN EMERGENCY. *TT
BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY, 2 DAYS AFTER I GET IT, THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE BREAKS AND EVENTUALLY ALL OF THEM HAVE FELL IN. THEY BREAK WITH A BUMP OF A KNEE OR ANYTHING. I HAVE HAD ONE REPLACED AND NOW THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY KIDS THEY CANT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THESE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES ARE VERY CHEAPLY MADE AND NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE IF THEY HAD TO GET OUT FAST. *JB

ALSO, THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WAS CRACKED AND BARELY FUNCTIONAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED TO FILE A REPORT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE INTERIOR DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED. THE PLASTIC HANDLE WAS CRACKED AND BROKE, MAKING THE DOOR DIFFICULT TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE INTERIOR HANDLE PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DETERMINED TO BE BROKEN PLASTIC. THE DEALER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE ON THE REPAIR COSTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ADDRESSING THE FAILURE. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
INTERIOR DOOR PANELS(BOTH FRONT DOORS) AT DOOR HANDLES THE PLASTIC AROUND HANDLES HAS CRACKED AND FALLEN OUT MAKING THE DOOR HANDLE SOMETIMES UNSTABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. CONCERNED FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT THAT AT SOME POINT THE DOORS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AND COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY AND THE OPTION OF POWERING DOWN THE WINDOW IS NOT POSSIBLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT'S LEG WAS RESTED AGAINST THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WHEN SUDDENLY, THE INTERIOR PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE EXHIBITED THE IDENTICAL DEFECT. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THE WINDOW MUST BE RELEASED DOWNWARD TO ACCESS THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE TO ASSIST WITH THE OPENING OF THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT EACH DOOR PANEL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES IS FAULTY. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR IS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. IT MUST BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE FRONT TWO DOOR LATCHES ARE CRACKED AND BEGINNING TO LOOSEN. THE REAR DOOR WAS NOTED AS A SAFETY CONCERN BY A COWORKER DURING A WORK-RELATED TRIP. THE EMPLOYEE UNDERSTANDABLY REFUSES TO DRIVE IN THE VEHICLE GOING FORWARD. THE PROBLEM IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND AN EMBARRASSMENT WHEN CONDUCTING BUSINESS JUNCTURES. I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE FAULTY DOOR HANDLE REPAIRED ON 4/20/11, BUT RECEIVED DOCUMENTATION THAT THE PANEL ASSEMBLY IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE PLATINUM DEALERSHIP WARRANTY. THE OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSE FOR ONE HANDLE IS OVER $500 AS THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL MUST BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS NOT COMPLETED. *JS
ALL INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN. 3 OUT OF THE 4 ARE AT THE POINT WHERE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT AND TAKES A LONG TIME TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE PLASTIC PANELS BEHIND THE DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN. YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE THE HANDLE AROUND TO FIND THE RIGHT SPOT THAT OPENS THE DOOR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. IT INCREASES THE RISK OF PASSENGERS BEING TRAPPED IN THE CAR IF IT WAS TO CATCH FIRE. *JS
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH OF OUR 2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4 SUFFERED A FAILURE CAUSING THE DOOR TO NOT BE ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR POSING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. THE DOOR LATCH IS A PLASTIC PULL WHICH IS PART OF THE ONE-PIECE MOLDED PLASTIC DOOR PANEL. THE PLASTIC BEHIND OUR DOOR LATCH STARTED TO CRACK OVER TIME AND UPON A FAMILY MEMBER CLOSING THE DOOR AND THE DOOR PANEL COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE INDIVIDUAL'S LEG, THE DOOR LATCH COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE DOOR PANEL CAUSING IT TO FLOAT INSIDE THE DOOR CAVITY. THE DOOR LATCH THEN FELL APART AND THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS TO REACH INSIDE THE HOLE IN THE CAVITY TO FIND WHAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS ATTACHED TO. HAVING THE DOOR LATCH ONLY SECURED TO THIN MOLDED PLASTIC OF THE DOOR PANEL IS A DESIGN...
THE INTERIOR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN. I FEAR THAT A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE DOOR HANDLE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY IS IMMINENT. IF THIS FAILURE SHOULD OCCUR IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION THE DOOR MAY NOT OPEN. *TT

THE MANUFACTURER TOOK REPORT 20273112, AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT RECALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
DOOR SPRINGS ARE TOO STRONG THEY SNAP BACK WITH TOO MUCH FORCE. MY 4 YEAR OLD CHILD WAS HIT IN THE HEAD AND EAR WHICH LEFT A BRUISE ON THE EAR , I HAVE A PICTURE, AND A BUMP ON THE HEAD, IT HAS SMACKED MY CHILD ON THE HEAD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ALSO , IT HIT SOMEONE ELSE'S 6 YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE EAR. MY FOOT AND ANKLE HAVE BEEN CRUSHED ON MANY OCCASIONS, TODAY IT CRUSHED MY BIG TOE. *AK
