The transmission failed at 159k miles. The car will not go into reverse. My vehicle is not part of the recent recall, 22s43. But has experienced the same issues listed in the recall. I believe my vehicle has the same work bushing issue which has caused the transmission to break down due to poor quality and broken parts
Transmission was previously slipping 200 miles prior, but I was on a road trip and unable to visit a mechanic for inspection. At a certain point, the engine temperature gauge began climbing to HOT and would only come down when the accelerator was released. Eventually, this remedy stopped working, and the car fully overheated.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while at a traffic light, the TPMS warning light illuminated and the transmission started shifting hard. The contact then pulled into a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The contact attempted to drive the vehicle, however, the gear shifter failed to engage in drive(D) after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to a certified transmission specialist where it was diagnosed that the transmission shift cable bushing had detached. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that she became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V362000 (Power Train) as the insurance provider informed her that they could not cover the repair due to the recall. The local dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact also stated that the vehicle would hesitate and independently shift gears upon depression of the accelerator pedal as the check engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. Had issues with Ford Fusion not shifting into a higher gear. Car would Rev up to over 4RPM and still wouldn’t shift up. (Automatic) Could’ve caused a crash had it happened driving on a highway. Took car to the mechanic and I just found out from the mechanic that it needs a new transmission! My car is mainly used for commuting and has about 150000 miles on it. I have looked up issues with this vehicle and this is a known issue! HELP! FORD should be recalling the bad transmission and fixing the problem!
2013: Purchased 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. 2014: Transmission seal replaced by dealer after dashboard alert. After repair, car developed low-pitch whine. Dealer explained it was the battery charging. Nov 2021: Whine volume has increased. No dashboard alerts. Dealer says the transmission needs to be replaced. Dealer says transmission can fail at any time. I have stopped driving the vehicle because I don't want it to become disabled on the highway, possibly causing an accident.
Transmission shifter cable bushing worn out… dealership can’t get me in in a timely manner to diagnose/repair and didn’t provide with a rental car or loner.
Shifter Cable broke. Ford dealership confirmed and fixed with new cable and bushing. This issue was listed under NHTSA Campaign number 19V362000, yet no recall shows for my VIN number. Yet, the break down and fix was exactly the same thing called out in the campaign.

I was driving at reg speed(55) down a flat highway. The warning sound and dash lights came on. Startled me.. the "hill assist does not work at this time"?? Light came on. Also 2 red lights at the bottom. I tried to see what the other lights were after I jumped and floated over to the rumble strips.. just bought the car yesterday.. happened twice today...
Check Engine light and Wrench light illuminated on the car Sunday. However, the car was at the dealer twice the same week before this happened. I pulled over because the vehicle was performing rough into a Lowes parking lot. I was within several hundred feet of a Ford dealer and drove it there. The vehicle smelled like smoke and noise from the rear of the vehicle. Service advisor Roxanne Detgen, t. no. 586-840-1086, at Dorian Ford, says that the car likely needs a new engine. She has contacted Ford motor company and then will contact me to authorize a teardown of the engine. The vehicle is a safety risk because it had sudden poor driving performance without the illumination of any lights, loss of power, and is a fire hazard. In fact, it was at the dealer twice the same week this happened and no lights were on.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND WHEN PROCEEDING TO TAKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND WOULDN'T GO IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. ON FEBRUARY 19, 2021. AFTER BACKING MY 2014 FORD FUSION INTO A PARKING SPACE. I WENT TO SHIFT IT INTO PARK. THE LEVER SHIFTED ALL THE WAY FORWARD AS IF IT WERE IN PARK. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE IT BEGAN TO ROLL. I HIT THE BRAKE AND LOOKED TO SEE IF I WAS INDEED IN PARK. THE SHIFTER WAS ALL THE WAY FORWARD BUT THE DISPLAY SHOWED AS IF THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. I TRIED TO START THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT START. I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. VEHICLE SHUTTERING SHIFTING HARD INTO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR FROM FIRST JUST STARTED
TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BUSHING FAILED. CAR WAS IN 'REVERSE'. BRAKE APPLIED AND CAR SHIFTED TO DRIVE. WHEN BRAKE WAS RELEASED THE CAR DROVE BACKWARDS AND REMAINED IN REVERSE. BRAKES WERE IMMEDIATELY APPLIED AND CAR SHIFTED TO PARK. WHEN BRAKE WAS RELEASED, CAR AGAIN DROVE BACKWARDS, REMAINING IN REVERSE. BRAKES APPLIED AND CAR WAS TURNED OFF. DASH STILL INDICATED CAR WAS IN REVERSE, BUT SHIFTER WAS IN PARK. PARKING BRAKE APPLIED. CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN BECAUSE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK TODAY WITH SHIFTER, I REMOVED THE KEY, LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I APPLIED THE BRAKES. WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE BACK ON, IT WAS STUCK IN "NEUTRAL" ON THE DASH BUT THE SHIFTER IS STUCK IN "PARK" AND WILL NOT SHIFT OR MOVE OUT OF PARK. THIS IS A KNOWN RECALL ON FORD FUSIONS YEAR 2014 BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SAY IT WAS PART OF THAT RECALL.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE SHIFTING. YOU WILL BE DRIVING AT 30 MPH AND WHEN IT SHIFTS UP IT FELLS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL OUT. IT WILL DO THE SAME THING WHEN YOU ARE SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE IT IS JUST GETTING WORSE.

THE CAR WILL PULSATE AND SHAKE WHEN DRIVING, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. YOU CAN'T ACCELERATE, LIKE THERE NO ACCELERATING IN THEN THE CAR CUT OFF, WHICH IS DANGER. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

SHIFT CABLE KEEPS COMING OFF
MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING BROKE TODAY INSPITE OF GETTING THE RECALL(18S20) DONE LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS AGO(23JULY19) AT TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD AT BESSEMER, ALABAMA. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND WAS NOT IN MOTION. I FIGURED SOMETHING WAS OFF WHEN I THE GEAR SHIFTER MOVED MUCH SMOOTHER THAN NORMAL. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE. I REVVED A LITTLE MORE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED AND THEN I NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE GEARS SHOWED THAT THEY WERE ENGAGED IN MY GAGE CLUSTER. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND POPPED THE HOOD AND FOUND WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WAS NOT IN PLACE. I VERIFIED MY PREVIOUS SERVICE RECORD(ATTACHED) TO MAKE SURE THE DEALER DID THE RECALL REPAIRS AND IT'S WAS DONE. BUT THE NEW BUSHINGS SNAPPED OFF TOO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SWITCH GEARS. THE CONTACT PARKED IN A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND NOTICED A LEAK COMING ROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ADD TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD MARIETTA (LOCATED AT 869 COBB PKWY SE, MARIETTA, GA 30060, (770) 674-6077) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN COMPONENT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
ITS BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE I HAVE HAD MY CAR AND I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY FORD THAT I HAVE A RECALL. NOT BY PHONE, EMAIL, OR EVEN IN PERSON. THE ONLY REASON I KNOW I HAVE THREE IS BECAUSE OF MY FAMILY MEMBER WHO NOTIFIED ME. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS TO COMPLAIN AND GET IT FIXED BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO WANT TO HELP. EVERY TIME I GO OR CALL THEY TAKE MY NUMBER AND THAT IS IT. SO I JUST KEEP GOING TRUSTING THEY WILL CALL ME BACK. AND THIS WEEK MY CAR STARTS TO HAVE TROUBLES AND MY TRANSMISSION HARD SHIFTS INTO SECOND GEAR AND I DAMAGE THE FRONT AND BUMPER OF MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE SAYS THE PROBLEM COMES FROM THE RECALLED PART. AND NOW MY CAR IS PARKED UNTIL I CAN GET IT FIXED AND...
AFTER MONTHS OF HARD SHIFTING AND SLIPPING, IN JUNE OF 2019...WITH ONLY 53,000 MILES ON THE CAR...THE TRANSMISSION POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND INTO NEUTRAL WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE, AND REFUSED TO GO BACK INTO GEAR. VEHICLE HAD TO BE COASTED, IN DANGEROUS FASHION AND IN TRAFFIC, OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. VEHICLE LATER BEGAN SHIFTING OKAY (TEMPORARILY) AND NO CAUSE OR FIX COULD BE FOUND. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SENT US ON OUR WAY IN THE VEHICLE. THEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2019, WITH ONLY 65,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN CLUNKING AND SPEWING TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERYWHERE WHICH DRIVING AROUND THE CITY. OUR LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE NEEDS A COMPLETELY NEW TRANSMISSION. FMC IS ALSO REFUSING TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS JUST BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY....EVEN THOUGH PROBLEMS WERE REPORTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM DRIVE INTO PARK, THE TRANSMISSION ERRONEOUSLY BECAME STUCK IN THE REVERSE POSITION. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A NEARBY RESIDENCE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE BUSHING HAD FAILED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,576. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
KNOCKING NOISE WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO PUT CAR IN MOTION. KNOCKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE AND VISE VERSA (NO GAS). KNOCK WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER ROUNDING A TURN. NOISE IS LIGHT ENOUGH THAT IT IS MOSTLY DISCERNIBLE WHEN THERE IS LOW ROAD NOISE, SUCH AS BEGINNING FROM A STOP OR WHEN IN ELECTRIC MODE.
WHILE IN MOTION ON MAJOR INTERSTATE THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION CAUSING TRAFFIC TO SWERVE AROUND VEHICLE AS IT SLOWED TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING BUT WOULD NOT MOVE IN ANY GEAR SELECTED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND LEFT MY FAMILY STRANDED ON THE SHOULDER. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THE TRANSMISSION FAILED BEFORE FIRST RECOMMENDED SERVICE OF 150,000 MILES OF SERVICE. UNABLE TO CHECK FLUID DUE TO NO DIPSTICK ON THE MODEL ATTACHED TO THE 1.5L ENGINE. DEALER CLAIMS TRANS PUMP WENT OUT CAUSING FAILURE.
TRANSMISSION HAS A HUGE DELAY WHEN CALLING FOR POWER, WONT DOWNSHIFT WHEN IT SHOULD, SHIFTS HARD AT TIMES RANDOMLY. DELAY CAUSES ENGINE WIND UP AND SUDDEN BURSTS OF ACCELERATION MAKING STOPPING A LOT HARDER AND ROUGHER.
I PURCHASED MY FORD WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER THE WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER BECAUSE I WAS LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING IN A CERTAIN GEAR AT A CERTAIN RPM AFTER THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A WIRING ISSUE WHICH I HAD THE DEALER FIX. BY THIS TIME I WAS CLOSE TO THE WARRANTY BEING UP. IT DIDNT FIX THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER INTERMITTENTLY OR STUTTERS. I GET P0352 CODES. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH IT BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT BUT RECENTLY THE WIRING HARNESS MELTED ON AN IGNITION COIL. I HAVE REPLACED THE IGNITION COILS, THE PIG TAIL, THE SPARK PLUGS, CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID, RECHECKED ALL THE CABLES, AND ONCE THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE PCM. IT HAS TO BE THE TRANSMISSION BUT BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT THE DEALER CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I ACTUALLY LOST POWER ONCE...
I PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK BUT MY CAR WAS STILL IN REVERSE. I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED TO ROLL AWAY. THE SHIFTER SAID PARK BUT THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND EVENTUALLY TOW MY VEHICLE HOME.
