Problems with dual clutch automatic transmission Ford Focus Class action lawsuit of 2013.

I am requesting an investigation into a vehicle I purchased on November 28, 2025, in a transaction conducted using the business name RideTime LLC. After taking possession of the vehicle, I noticed inconsistencies related to the title and odometer reading. I titled the vehicle on December 1, 2025, prior to full confirmation of these discrepancies. Subsequent investigation through Experian AutoCheck, consultation with the Virginia DMV, and inspection by a licensed mechanic revealed evidence consistent with title jumping and possible odometer tampering. Additionally, a mechanic identified indicators consistent with prior flood damage that were not disclosed at the time of sale. I acted in good faith and relied on representations made during the sale, including the use of the business name RideTime LLC. Once the discrepancies were confirmed, I immediately ceased any attempt to sell or transfer the vehicle and am reporting the matter for investigation and guidance on proper resolution.

While has had the transmission recall work done x 2 and was told by the mechanics that to recync “drive it like you stole it” when you can prior to the last recall fix in Feb and just had the cpv recall replacement done in February it was not driven a lot and I am in my late 60’s so I do not drive it like a teenager. During that recall repair they said I needed to replace the engine bolts ( I would think would be related due to the “drive it like you stole it” to resync the transmission but had to pay for out of pocket and found a transmission bolts also needed replaced that I wasn’t told by the ford service guy. Recently in driving it would thunk when stopping and pinched forward and had major excelleration delay when trying to turn in traffic causing safety...

Be reaching out and taking my car to Ford for recalls within the time limit told me they did not see no code I replace it it breaks down put me and my daughter at risk on the highway unsafe and now I spent all my money and can’t afford another car because of Ford not Doing their job with the policy and the warranties the recalls I’ve been going through so much trying to fix this car and now I have to take a complete loss because it’s finally broken down and no one wants to take the car

My car has been to the shop twice for the TCM issues, and both times, in 2016 and 2021, the shop performed adaptive learning and cleared the codes, instead of replacing the faulty part. Now, the TCM has completely broken and needs to be replaced. The car wouldn't start at the gas station suddenly. After rocking the car back and forth it did start, but wouldn't go when shifted into drive. It is apparently 2 months out of the extended warranty coverage and now, I have to pay $1,300+ for a repair?! This seems unfair. They knew they had a faulty part, they performed band-aid fixes, and now I am holding the bag.

Door lock and windows dint work properly. Transmission not working appropriately or at . Randomly says transmission overheating or won't go in reverse

My 2014 Ford Focus is having problems with the engine. For starters is several occasions the car will start and not turn off when turning the key to the off position, the car will still stay on. I took it to the automotive parts store and the guy there had me turn the key off and disconnect the battery and that seem to turn off the car. After they had my car scanned with a computer and found lots of issues with. Car stalls and had check engine lights and also a transmission warning light on making it difficult for the car to drive. Recently water dripping inside the vehicle passenger side when the AC is turned on. The car also doesn’t unlock the doors from the inside have to open it for the passenger side.

I HAVE TWO RECALLS ON MY FORD FOCUS 2014. FORD REFUSES TO FIX THE TCM DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN WITH ISSUES DEALING WITH THE TSB REVOLVING AROUND THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS AND TOLD THEM MY CAR BATTERY DIED AND IT COULDN'T REVERSE NOW BROUGHT IT TO GET THE WORK DONE WHICH I THOUGHT INCLUDED THEM LOOKING AT WHY IT COULD NOT REVERSE I PAID THEM OVER 1,300 DOLLARS TO FIX THIS ISSUES AND THEN AFTER I PULL OFF AND NOTICE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON I BRING IT BACK INSIDE AND THEY HIT ME WITH OH THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS A DIAGNOSTIC AFTER I PAID THEM A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT I WANT THEM TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK

This TCM issue is a known issue with Ford. They issued recalls on this in 2015 and 2017 and extending the coverage in 2023. Please put this on the recall list as it has affected many people

The general information I have is my transmission is not working, and it causes the car to stall and jerk unexpectedly, it will be driving fine then aggressively slow down almost to a stop, then launch forward, which could cause an accident to the person in front of me or behind. When these events happen it’s on and off, and the stalling will follow multiple times during a driving period. The engine light will come on, and many mechanics we have talked to have said to either replace the transition or sell the car, and the transmission is the same price I paid for the car. It’s ultimately unfortunate because it is a great car, low miles, in great condition, and I am young into college with big loans and can’t afford to fix this car.

I have been trying to get my car fixed but they will not honor the recalled part. I took it to another garage bc Ford is saying it's my clutch but I seem for my own eyes the only code was for the tcm. And then Ford told me they do not honor another mechanics diagnostics.

I was driving my 2014 Ford Focus electric car sometime in 2023 and the system told me to immediately pull over for no reason. I was able to pull it over but it would not start again after turning it off. I let it sit and came back the next day since I needed to go somewhere and it started. My 2014 Ford focus SE hatchback is having bad transmission codes throwing at me. Automatic transmission electrical system codes and transmission stuck in clutch A. I have 123,000 miles on it. I'm afraid to drive it as it being a electrical problem and I have my teenage son in the car with me. I'm afraid of a fire. Ford wants hundreds of dollars just to diagnose what 3 other mechanics have already diagnosed it. I have a picture of the codes. Ford knows about this problem but wants hundreds of dollars to tell me what I already know and then thousands of dollars to fix it.

This car has had the clutch fork, clutch and tcm replaced since ive owned it and continues to still produce the same scary issue erratically. When it's not throwing codes it's sticking in gears, shifting hard, accelerating on its own (( almost went through a drive through window when it did this last)) this car is going to cause an issue/wreck. I Will be driving yhis car and the focus looses power, no steering, no acceleration available during the main issue im addressing today. The part that failed was the dual clutch. I was in traffic and my car did not want to accelerate after the stop it began to sputter then went to accelerate this happened more then once. It has been inspected and diagnosed for a worn clutch but I bought the car like that. No check engine light or anything has came on. I am financing this car and it sucks that I am not able to drive it if it was an emergency then I risk it and drive the car but the whole time I am scared because of the way it is struggles on the freeway and streets

On January 14, 2022, at approximately 5:20 P.M. my wife was traveling southbound on Pleasant Hill Road in Lafayette, California towards the freeway entrance when the Ford Focus Electric she was driving displayed a Stop Safely Now message and almost immediately thereafter lost motive power at the busiest intersection in the City of Lafayette. She was able to steer the car to the shoulder since she was in the right hand lane. The vehicle would not move and the steering wheel locked up. She called for assistance and I drove down and exchanged cars with her within approximately 15 minutes. After approximately 10 minutes of trying, I was able to get the vehicle to turn off and to turn on again without the Stop Safely Now warning and was able to return the approximately 1.5 miles to our residence. The vehicle's engine continues to run after turning off and removing the keys. After the engine has stopped running it is also draining the battery.

The engine shut down at highway speed (62mph). At time we were travelling on a state highway at night and with inclement weather. The engine light came on and identified engine fault and service engine now. There was no prior indication of any engine malfunction. The problem was confirmed and repaired by Johnson Ford in Pittsfield Massachusetts. The wiring harnass on the intake manifold was melted and exposed wiring that when wet became a dead short for the engine.

I'm being persecuted by Ford Motor. Speakers making kids popping crackling ear piercing sounds even when car is shut off and keys are out car locked?! What's making this happen and is the car still safe to be in let alone drive?

The stereo/radio emits a very loud popping/cracking noise. The noise happens whether the car is turned or off. This puts the driver and passengers in danger because having a loud noise randomly happen while driving can cause the driver to jerk the wheel as a reflex/reaction. This can cause an accident on the road, putting the driver and passengers at risk, along with other vehicles and it’s passengers at risk. The manufacturer has not acknowledged the issue, and no guidance has been issued for owners. There are no warning lights or messages in place. This happens randomly and is very scary.

There is a loud electrical crakle sound coming from the speakers. It also does it when the car is off. It's very startling and I believe it's dangerous.

Jan.26th 2018 I purchased a 2014 Ford Focus SE from Pacifico Ford. I was told by salesman No Recalls and No safety Issues. The car was on the lot with new inspection stickers. I was given a clean car fax. I was deceived. The car was returned the next day for driving improperly. It gave too much gas or not enough, was shuddering and sticking, steering issues, drifted to the right, and steering wheel had to be crooked to park to adjust the wheels, and car had a burn smell. SHUDDERS , JERKS, SLIPS, AND STALLS WHEN GETS ON THE GAS LIKE A JUMPING FEEL.

MY 2014 DOESN'T HAVE ALL THOSE FANCY SAFETY FEATURES LISTED BUT MY HORN DOESN'T WORK. I NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT THE HORN HAS JUST STOPPED WORKING. I THOUGHT IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE BUT TURNS OUT IT'S ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE CAR ON TOP OF THE PREVIOUS RECALLS IT HAS HAD. I CAN'T EVEN RENEW MY CAR REGISTRATION UNTIL THIS IS FIXED AND IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD. I CAN'T EVEN WARN DRIVERS WHEN THEY ARE ABOUT TO CRASH INTO ME ON THE HIGHWAY. FORD WANTS TO CHARGE AN OVER THE TOP PRICE TO LOOK AND FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL EVEN BE COMPLETELY FIXED SEEING AS ANOTHER FORD FOCUS OWNER I MET IN PERSON AND WHAT I'VE READ ONLINE HAVE ALSO HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR HORN NOT WORKING ANYMORE. THIS SHOULD BE UNDER A RECALL WITH FORD.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE HOUSING FOR THE PCM BROKE AND THE WHOLE THING FELL HITTING THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE AND DRAGGING ON THE WHILE ABLE TO STOP. THE CAR THEN SHUT OFF AND AND HAD ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ERROR CODES. TOOK THE CAR TO SHOP TO BE FIXED. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE CAR STARTS SHIFTING HARD AND SOMETIMES NOT SHIFTING PAST 3RD GEAR THROUGH OUT THE DAY BY THW END OF THE DAY REVERSE QUITS WORKING. THE NEXT DROVE CAR 15 MILES TO TOWN SHUT IT OFF AND HAS NOT STARTED SINCE. WAITING ON DEALERSHIP TO HAVE AVAILABLE TIME SLOT TO REPAIR.

I HAVE HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH THIS CAR I AM UPSIDE DOWN ON IT. NOW ALL THE ELECTRICAL STUFF SEEMS TO BE SHORTING. I WAS DRIVING AND MY FUEL GAUGE KEPT GOING TO ZERO THEN BACK UP TO HALF A TANK. THEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.
