I HAD JUST GOT MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK, STARTED THE TRUCK AND TURNED ON THE FRONT AND BACK DEFROSTERS. WHILE SITTING AND LETTING TRUCK WARM UP, THE INSIDE OF THE CAB STARTED SMOKING- GOT MY KIDS OUT QUICKLY AND THEN THE BACK MIDDLE WINDOW SHATTERED OUT OF NOWHERE.
DASH BOARD IS WARPED. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER NOT WORKING
SYNC3 IS A NIGHTMARE LEADING TO EXTREME DISTRACTED DRIVING. BLUETOOTH DROPS OFF, BUTTONS FREEZE OR ARE SLOW (20-30 SECONDS+) TO RESPOND OR NOT RESPOND. ANY FUNCTION TIED TO SYNC3 DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. NAVIGATION, PHONE, MUSIC, AIR/HEAT, BLUETOOTH, CARPLAY ETC. VARIES DAY BY DAY, MINUTE BY MINUTE. GOOGLE IT. WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GO HANDS FREE. HAPPENS DRIVING AND STATIONARY.
I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A GAS STATION AND THE AUTO STOP START WARNING CAME ON AS I WAS ACCELERATING AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS I PUT WELL OVER 400 MILES A WEEK ON MY TRUCK AND THIS WAS THE FIRST ACURRANCE.
FRONT USB PORTS OFTEN DISCONNECT INTERMITTENTENTLY CAUSING LOSS OF PHONE CHARGING AND ANDROID AUTO TO DISCONNECT. THIS CAUSES LOSS OF NAVIGATION AND MUCH FUMBLING WITH PHONE AND USB CABLE TO TRY AND RECONNECT WHILE DRIVING, RESULTING IN DRIVER DISTRACTION. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAYS.
MY HORN STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN YOU HONK THE HORN IT SOUNDS LIKE A HIGH PITCHED SCOOTER HORN. IT IS NOT EFFECTIVE AND UNSAFE.
TAILGATE FAILURE; UNABLE TO OPEN TAILGATE OR TAILGATE WILL OPEN BY ITSELF. HAD TO REPLACE THE TAILGATE CONTROL MODULE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE PART HAS BEEN MODIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER SO THEY THERE IS A FLAW IN THEIR PREVIOUS MODULE.
THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW, FROM TEST DRIVE THRU 2 YEARS OF DRIVING 40,000 MILES I HAVE ALWAYS TURNED OFF START STOP AT EACH START UP. WHEN I FORGET TO TURN OFF IT HAS PREFORMED AS DESIGNED UNTIL LAST WEEK. NOW WHEN START/STOP IS ON AND I COME TO STOP AT RED LIGHT THAT CHANGES GREEN AS SOON AS I STOP THE VEHICLE REQUIRES ME TO GO TO PARK AND RESTART ENGINE. THE SYSTEM WORKS FINE IF RED LIGHT IS OVER 5/10 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED ON US27 4 LANE AT STOP LIGHT SOMERSET, KY 7/20/2020. THE TRUCK HAS JUST RUN OUT OF WARRANTY 4,000 MILES FORD SERVICE REFUSED TO DELETE THE START STOP FEATURE. THIS IS A UNSAFE FEATURE THAT NOW HAS BECOME A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE REFUSAL TO DELETE AFFIRMS MY SUSPICION THIS IS A BUILT IN MONEY MAKER FOR OUT OF WARRANTY FORD JUNK.
WHEN DRIVING THE TAILGATE WILL UNEXPECTEDLY LOWER, THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH AND WITHOUT LOADS IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THE TAILGATE LOWERING HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAYS, CITY STREETS, TURNING AND WHILE PARKED
MY DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK IS STUCK. YOU CANNOT OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. THE LOCK ITSELF IS NOT MOVING AT ALL, EVEN WITH PULLING IT.
ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN STOPPED AND WAITING TO TURN LEFT ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC ON A FOUR LANE STATE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE AUTO STOP FEATURE SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. WHEN I LET OF THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE AUTO STARTED AND I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND NEARLY DROVE INTO A DITCH. IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS A DELAY BETWEEN WHEN THE ENGINE AUTO STARTS AND WHEN THE POWER STEERING WORKS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL WITHOUT POWER STEERING. ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH 36K MILES (2018) AND HAVE OWNED FOR LESS THAN ONE MONTH. WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE SUNROOF FOR THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING SOUND. THE SUNROOF FAILS TO OPEN, AND NOW RAIN LEAKS IN THROUGH THE ROOF. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A $72K VEHICLE THAT IS TWO YEARS OLD. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OVER 36K MILES, THE DEALERSHIP (FORD DEALER) REFUSES TO FIX.
FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 1ST WATER LEAK INSIDE OF OUR TRUCK CAB CREATED A MILDEW SMELL DUE TO WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS. WATER SATURATED ELECTRICAL WIRING UNDER THE DOOR SEAL PROTECTORS ON THE RIGHT-SIDE OF THE FRONT AND REAR DOORS. FIRST NOTICED A PROBLEM DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES WE HEARD A WATER SLOSHING SOUND ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. INDICATIONS OF WATER IN CAB AND SATURATED CARPET'S AND WIRING WENT UNNOTICED DUE TO WEATHER TECH FULL FLOOR MATS. WE CONTACTED FORD CORPORATION ONLINE AND THEY ADVISED FOR US TO TAKE IT INTO OUR DEALERSHIP TO BE ASSESSED. OUR DEALERSHIP MADE AN APPOINTMENT A WEEK OUT, SO OUR TRUCK SAT IN OUR GARAGE FOR AN ADDITIONAL WEEK. WE USED A SHOP VAC AND SUCKED OUT AS MUCH WATER AS WE COULD AND LEFT THE DOOR WINDOWS DOWN TO HELP DRY OUT THE INTERIOR. THE DEALERSHIP...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY FORD LINCOLN OF GAITHERSBURG 901 N FREDERICK AVE, GAITHERSBURG, MD 20879 (301) 358-4443 WHERE DIAGNOSED THAT RODENTS DAMAGED THE SOY BASE WIRING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
THIS IS A CONTINUATION WITH COMPLAINT NUMBER 11307725 ALREADY FILED. FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 2ND DISCOVERY OF WATER LEAK IN CAB OF TRUCK WITH WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE WATER LEAK WAS BEHIND THE BACK SEATS DOWN THE CAB WALL INTERIOR. CALLED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOOK OUR TRUCK BACK IN FOR THEM TO ASSESS THIS 2ND WATER LEAK. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRUCK BED TO FIND THIS WATER LEAK COMING IN FROM THE REAR CAB VENTS AND LOCKING TABS ON VENTS. THEY ALSO FOUND THE CARPET INSULATOR WAS BEHIND THE REAR VENTS WHICH CAUSED THE VENT SEAL TO WARP AND LEAK. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR VENTS COMPLETELY THEN THEY RETESTED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NO LEAKS AT THAT TIME. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE TRUCK BED BOLTS AND HAD TO RESPRAY IN THE BED...
WHILE IN MOTION, SEVERAL ITEMS OCCUR. IT BEGINS WITH FOLLOWING WARNING LIGHTS: "PARK BRAKE LIMITED FUNCTION" AND THE "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE". THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING, SUDDEN DECELERATION, ENGINE STALLING, AND TRANSMISSION ERRATICALLY SHIFTING. THIS HAS OCCURRED OVER TWENTY FOUR TIMES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND ON CITY STREETS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT THE DEALER FIVE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE.
ALL 4 DOORS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. THEY DO NOT LATCH, OR STAY CLOSED. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. TURNING, THE DOOR HAS OPENED AND THE BACK DOORS HAVE FROZEN AND NOT LATCHED. I HAVE VIDEO BUT THEY ARE TOO LARGE TO ATTACH. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME REPAIR, AND TO DATE THEY'VE HAD IT FOR 23 DAY. DOOR LOCKS FREEZING DRIVER DOOR NOT SHUTTING SO UNABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY AS DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE
I HAVE NOTICED MY TAILGATE RANDOMLY DOWN BUT NEVER THOUGHT MUCH ABOUT IT. WEDNESDAY THE 11TH OF DECEMBER 2019 I WAS TOWING A CAR HAULER TRAILER. I DROVE TO MY LOCATION AND MADE A TURN AND HEARD A CRUNCHING NOISE. IT TURNS OUT THE TAILGATE WAS DOWN AND IN A TURN IT GOT CRUNCHED BY THE TRAILER JACK. I TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. IT IS SCHEDULED FOR DEC 26TH. TAILGATE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. TAILGATE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL TWIST THE DRIVESHAFT AT STARTUP, STATIONARY, AND CAUSE THE REAR END TO POP VERY LOUDLY. I'VE SHOWN FORD ENGINEERING A VIDEO OF IT, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF A VEHICLE DOING THIS BEFORE. THERE IS A RATTLING SOUND ON DECELERATION, LOUDEST WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND LESSONS OR MAYBE EVEN GOES AWAY AFTER WARMED UP. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED EARLIER THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. THE TRUCK HAS MEMORY POWER DRIVER'S SEAT AND POWER MIRRORS THAT SHOULD GO INTO PLACE DEPENDING ON THE KEY FOB THAT IT DETECTS. RANDOMLY BOTH SIDE MIRRORS WILL START MOVING AND POPPING BEFORE GOING BACK INTO POSITION. THIS ALWAYS OCCURS BEFORE THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. I'VE NOTICED THAT IT IS USUALLY WHEN IT DETECTS THE KEY FOB OR WHEN I USE THE FOB FOR SOME FUNCTION. THE SEAT RANDOMLY DOESN'T GO INTO...
STARTED TO PULL THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AFTER MOVING ABOUT 5 FEET PULLING INTO THE INTERSECTION. A MESSAGE POPPED UP ON THE DASH SCREEN ABOUT AUTO STARTSTOP AND THAT I NEEDED TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTART IT. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I SLOWLY ROLLED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET, PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO MORE ISSUES ON THE REMAINING 25 MILE DRIVE. THE AUTOSTOP FEATURE HAD BEEN DISABLED VIA THE DASH SWITCH BEFORE EVER LEAVING HOME. THE SWITCH WAS STILL ILLUMINATED AMBER SHOWING THAT AUTOSTOP HAD IN FACT BEEN TURNED OFF MANUALLY BEFORE IT HAPPENED ON ITS OWN, WHILE UNDER POWER. WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING, THE POWER STEERING IS ALSO DISABLED. AFTER A BIT OF INVESTIGATION, I HAVE FOUND VIA...
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ERRORS/FAILED SENSORS FOR THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE. AFTER 2 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CHANGING 2 SENSORS THE ISSUE WAS STILL PRESENT. I ACCIDENTALLY IDENTIFIED THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE - INTERFERENCE FROM A DASHCAM - A REXING V1P PRO 3RD GENERATION. MEASURED ON A SPECTRUM ANALYZER THIS INTERFERENCE IS AT 312 MHZ AT AROUND (-78 DBM 1 M FROM THE DASHCAM) WHILE THE TPMS SENSORS OPERATE AROUND 315 MHZ AND MEASURE AROUND -82 DBM AT THE SAME LOCATION. THIS LEVEL OF INTERFERENCE (EVEN IF IT IS IN EXCESS OF FCC PART 15 EMISSIONS - AND I WILL BE CHECKING WITH THE FCC ALSO) AT THIS KIND OF FREQUENCY SEPARATION SHOULD NOT CAUSE ERRORS OR A FAILURE IN THE TPMS MONITORING SYSTEM. TAILGATE RANDOMLY OPENS WHILE DRIVING AND OR AFTER DRIVING WHEN PARKED. WILL ALSO HAPPEN AGAIN REPEATEDLY AFTER CLOSING. WHILE TAILGATE IS OPEN AFTER FALLING IN OPEN POSITION YOU CAN HEAR RELAY CLICKING NOISES IN PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD AREA. SOUNDS LIKE RELAYS ARE CONSTANTLY TRIGGERING TO OPEN TAILGATE. INITIALLY THOUGHT KEY FOB WAS TRIGGERING PROBLEM, BUT ISOLATED KEYFOB AND DETERMINED KEYFOB IS NOT THE ISSUE. AM CONCERNED THAT ITEMS IN BACK OF BED AREA ARE GOING TO FALL OUT WHEN TRUCK IS MOVING AND CAUSE ACCIDENT OR WORSE. SOMETIMES DO NOT HEAR THAT THE TAILGATE OPENED WHEN DRIVING. MY VEHICLE HAS FACTORY INSTALLED BED COVER AND CANNOT SEE IF TAILGATE IS DOWN FROM INSIDE OF VEHICLE
FORD 2018 F150 REAR WINDOW / DEFROSTER ISSUES - LUCKILY, MY REAR WINDOW DID NOT SHATTER AS OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED, BUT I HAVE EXPERIENCED DEFROSTER OVERHEATING TO THE POINT WHERE 2 OUT OF 3 SECTIONS OF THE WINDOW NO LONGER WORK. UPON INSPECTION, IT APPEARS THE RESISTIVE ELEMENTS ARE BURNT AND BECOMING DELAMINATED FROM THE WINDOW IN MULTIPLE PLACES. I DID ALSO SMELL WARM/BURNING ELECTRONICS AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP - AS THIS SHOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WAS TOLD THE CLAIM WAS DENIED, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED. I CAN SEE HOW A SUDDEN OVER-CURRENT / OVERHEATING LIKE THIS COULD LEAD TO GLASS SHATTERING AND FORD SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE IF THEIR CONTROLS AND/OR DEFROSTER ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT OVER THE WEEKEND. WE WERE T-BONES BY A BUS. IT WRECKED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET MY PURSE OUT I NOTICED THAT THERE WERE FLAMES COMING FROM THE SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT. OUR F150 IS NOW BURNT TO A CRISP. TRUCK SHUTS OFF WHEN PULLING A CAMPER AND WILL NOT RUN AFTER RESTART UNLESS YOU REV THE ENGINE AND QUICKLY PULL THE SHIFTER INTO DRIVE AND ACCELERATE QUICKLY. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWS 'AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEM RESTART ENGINE.' THIS HAS CAUSED MANY NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN YOU TRY TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION OR PULL AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN.

AN INDEPENDENT SOURCE WAS CALLED TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE. BENNA FORD SUPERIOR (3022 TOWER AVE, SUPERIOR, WI 54880, (715) 394-8669) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FIRE. A FIRE INSPECTION REPORT WAS TO BE DETERMINED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LUNGED FORWARD AND STALLED. THE DRIVER HAD TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE ENGINE TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IN FREEZING WEATHER, THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS FREEZE UP, NOT ALLOWING THE DOORS TO UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR THE CONTROLS ON THE DOORS. I WAS ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE INSIDE BUY USING THE HIDDEN KEY IN THE FOB.
TRUCK ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL EXPECTANTLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. REAR SENSOR FAULT, TIRE PRESSURE, RADIO CONTROLS GO OUT, AIR CONDITIONER STOPS WORKING, POWER WINDOWS STOP WORKING, POWER RUNNING BOARDS STOP WORKING. POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING.
COLD MORNING AND THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE OR THE KEY IN THE DRIVERS DOOR, AFTER CLIMBING IN THE BACK DOOR TO OPEN THE FRONT NEITHER THE REAR DOOR OR THE FRONT DOOR WOULD LATCH WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. EXTREMELY UNSAFE, COULD NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK TO WORK BECAUSE THE DOORS WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT.
VEHICLE WILL LOSE ALL POWER WHILE IN MOTION. POWER LOSS IS MOMENTARY. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
JUNE 21, 2018 WE WERE DRIVING DOWN HWY 1 BYPASS IN FORREST CITY, AR AND WERE HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, PASSENGER DOOR AND GAS TANK AREA. THE TRUCK TOOK THE IMPACT WELL AND WE SPUN 180 DEGREES TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SIDE AND CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT WERE UNHARMED, INCLUDING THE ONE WHOSE DOOR TOOK MOST OF THE IMPACT. MY HIP WAS INJURED FROM THE AIR BAG THAT DEPLOYED FROM THE BACK OF MY SEAT. AS I WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT CALLING 911, THE SEAT BEGAN SMOKING. I TRIED TO EXIT OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND IT WAS JAMMED. SMOKE CONTINUED TO GET THICKER AND SMELLED LIKE AN ELECTRICAL/PLASTIC BURNING SMELL. I THEN HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE AND EXIT THROUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. AT THAT POINT,...
ON MAY 27, 2018, I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AT THE INTERSECTION OF 19TH AVE SE AND 121ST ST SE IN EVERETT, WA WHEN I WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE TRAVELING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THERE WAS A COLLISION DAMAGE SUSTAINED TO THE RIGHT BEDSIDE OF THE VEHICLE CAUSED BY THE VEHICLE DUE TO VEHICLE IMPACT. IN ADDITION, ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND A FIRE STARTED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF THE VEHICLE. FARMERS INSURANCE HIRED A 3RD PARTY INVESTIGATION COMPANY AND CONCLUDED THAT THE DAMAGES ARE MAINLY DUE TO MANUFACTURING DEFECTS WITH AIRBAG AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I'M ATTACHING FARMER'S DENIAL REPORT INCLUDING FORENSIC REPORT.
DRIVING HOME A DEER RAN INTO DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE AND SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. PULLED OVER AND VEHICLE CALLED 911. AFTER INSPECTING VEHICLE AND WITNESSES FROM ACROSS THE ROAD MADE SURE WE WERE SAFE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN. THIS TOOK ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER WENT TO REMOVE A PURSE FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AND NOTICED A FIRE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POST BETWEEN THE FRONT AND REAR DOOR AND WHERE SEAT BELT RESTRAINT IS LOCATED. IMMEDIATE EVACUATION WAS NEEDED AND A SECOND 911 CALL WAS PLACED. THE TRUCK WENT UP IN COMPLETE FLAMES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES AND IS A COMPLETE LOSS.
THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WHEN THE PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCKED WITH THE KEY FOB THE TAILGATE FAILS DOWN. WHEN THE DRIVER EXITS THE VEHICLE THE TAILGATE FALLS DOWN. BY FALLS DOWN I MEAN THE TAILGATE ON THE PICKUP IS CLOSED AND IN THE VERTICAL POSITION AND THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE TAILGATE IS WITH THE KEY FOB. THE TAILGATE FOB IS DEPRESSED AND THE TAILGATE OPENS (FALLS DOWN) AUTOMATICALLY. ONLY THE TAILGATE CONTROLS ARE INCORRECTLY OPENING THE TAILGATE WHEN THE PASSENGER DOOR IS OPENED WITH THE KEY FOB OR WHEN YOU GET IN THE BACK DOORS. ALSO AFTER DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN OPENING THE DRIVERS DOOR THE TAILGATE DROPS DOWN. IF A CHILD OR ADULT HAPPENS TO BE BEHIND THE TRUCK THE CAN GET HURT.
2018 F150 MFG DATE OCT 2017- FREEZING DOOR LOCKS IN COLD WEATHER (<30F) THE LOCKS ON THE DOOR DO NOT OPEN...OR IF THEY DO, AND THE DOOR OPENS IT WILL NOT LATCH SECURELY. THE DOORS HAVE FLOWN OPEN AS I'VE GONE AROUND CORNERS...WHEN I THOUGHT THEY WERE CLOSED. TOOK TO DEALER YESTERDAY, THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME THAT FORD HAS YET TO REALLY COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON SOME MODELS BUT NOT MY SPECIFIC VIN YET IT HAS EXACTLY THE SAME BEHAVIOR AS EARLIER MODELS.
IN COLD WEATHER THE DOOR LATCHES FREEZE CAUSING THE DOORS TO REMAIN UNLATCHED. THIS CAUSED MY REAR DOORS TO FLY OPEN WHEN I WENT AROUND A CORNER. THERE WAS A RECALL BUT IT DOESN'T COVER THE 2018 MODEL YEAR. MY TRUCK WAS MADE IN OCT 2017, AND I TOOK DELIVERY IN MID DEC 2017. THE DEALER WILL INSPECT, BUT AS YET FORD DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE A FIX FOR THE ISSUE.
DURING COLD WEATHER THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. CANNOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. CONDITION REMAINS WHEN IN PARK OR WHEN DRIVING
