FIRST THE WIRING HAD TO BE REPLACE, WEEK LATER CATALYIC CONVERTOR, WEEK LATER TRANSMISSION, CAR IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD
DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE I RECEIVE A WARNING LIGHT "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW". I CONTACTED MT VIEW FORD AND WAS INFORMED THERE IS A WAIT ON TRANSMISSION WORK AND THE EARLIEST THEY COULD GET ME IN IS DECEMBER 20TH. BEING CONCERNED AND NOT WANTING TO WAIT A MONTH AND A HALF TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I CONTACTED A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP THEY HOOKED MY VEHICLE UP AND RECEIVED (2) INTERNAL CODES 1721 & 1744. THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRES A COMPLETE REBUILD @ 83,000 MILES. I'VE READ OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSIONS FOR THE 2014 FORD ESCAPE.
THE PUMP WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION WENT BAD AND THEREFOR THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
108,000 MILES GOING DOWN EXPRESSWAY AT 75 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AND HAD TO COAST ONTO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY. COMPLETE TRANSMISSION AT JUST OVER 100,000 MILES ON A 2014 (ONLY 3 YEARS) OLD IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND COULD CREATE UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER.
SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IT BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY INCLUDED UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION, DECELERATION, ROUGH SHIFTING, TRANSMISSION AND FLUID LEAKS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FROM 1 DAY TO OVER 90 DAYS AT A TIME. SEVERAL REPAIRS TOOK 5-7 WEEKS. INITIALLY THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD MOTOR CO. COVERED THE REPAIRS AND PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FULLY RESOLVED AS THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE FORD SHOP SINCE APRIL 1, 2017 WHILE IT WAS BEING DIAGNOSED AND I TRIED TO DISCUSS THE ISSUES WITH FORD SINCE THEY REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIRS. FORD DENIED OUR CLAIM TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE UNDER THE CALIFORNIA "LEMON LAW" STATUTES. THE ISSUES HAVE NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SHOP AT ONE POINT...
WHILE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC ON JULY 3, 2017, MOVING AT 30 MPH, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED CAUSING THE CAR TO QUICKLY DECELERATE NEARLY CAUSING A REAR END COLLISION. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INDICATED AN ENGINE FAULT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE SERVICE. THE ENGINE CONTINUED RUNNING BUT WITH HARDLY ANY ACCELERATION THEN LOSS OF POWER AND BUCKING. I PULLED TO SHOULDER AND WAS ABLE TO LIMP HOME ABOUT A MILE WITH ENGINE RUNNING ERRATICALLY ALL THE WAY. CALLED AAA AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO HAMMONASSET FORD IN MADISON CT FOR SERVICE ON JULY 4 2017. AWAITING RESPONSE FROM THEM AT THIS TIME.
AT THE END OF A 55 MILE TRIP THE "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION" INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A FEW HOURS I STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND THE LIGHT HAS NOT COME BACK ON. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 32000 MILES AND I CAN'T GET FORD TO LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME IF IT IS ELECTRICAL OR TRANSMIISION OCCURED ON 7/7/14
"TAKATA RECALL"......I STOPPED BY 7-11 ATM TO GET SOME MONEY AND OTHER ITEMS...UPON RETURNING TO MY VEHICLE I NOTICED IT WOULD NOT START. THE DASHBOARD SAID IT WAS IN REVERSE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN PARK MODE. I SPEND APPROXIMATELY 3.5 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TRYING TO GET SOME REAL HELP. AFTER NO SUCCESS, I WENT THRU THREE DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS WHO WERE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE ON HOW TO HANDLE A VEHICLE THAT WAS DISABLED, STUCK IN REVERSE AND WOULD NOT START. I ENDED UP CALLING AAA AND HAD IT TOWED TO MY OWN MECHANIC BECAUSE I CALLED THREE FORD DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WOULD BE AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE SOMEONE COULD CHECK OUT MY VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THEY WERE NOT COOPERATIVE IN HELPING ME GET A RENTAL CAR EITHER AND STATED THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTING A CAR. MY OWN...
MY CAR IS HAVING SAME EXACT ISSUES AS REPORTED IN RECALL #14S17 YET MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL IN GARAGE, GOING ON 2 WEEKS NOW, AND THEY JUST TOLD ME 6 OUR OF 7 PARTS ARE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY YET 1 PART, THE WIRING ASSEMBLY EC SENSOR IS NOT AND WILL BE $800 TO FIX. MY VEHICLE LITERALLY WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND HAD SEVERE HESITATION AFTER I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON. AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN REVERSE. SHIFT ARM WAS STUCK IN REVERSE AND COULD NOT BE MOVED. MY FOOT HAD TO REMAIN PRESSED DOWN ON BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM MOVING FARTHER BACKWARD AND HITTING NEARBY PARKED VEHICLES. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF TO PREVENT FURTHER BACKWARD MOVEMENT, WHICH LEFT VEHICLE BLOCKING ONCOMING VEHICLES MOVING THROUGH LOT. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS A LOOSE SHIFTER ARM BOLT. BOLT WAS TIGHTENED.
I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2017 AND WE TOOK IT ON A TRIP TO THE BEACH. ALMOST THERE THE CAR STARTED JUMPING INTO GEAR WHEN WE TOOK OFF AT THE RED LIGHT. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW , WITHIN THE FIRST 600 MILES I TOOK A TRIP TO NORTHERN MICHIGAN ( ABOUT 200 MI. ) AND THE TRANSMISSION " BANGED " INTO 6TH GEAR EVERY TIME IT DOWN SHIFTED TO 5TH GOING UP ANY GRADE AND SHIFTED BACK TO 6TH, OTHER TIMES WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT OF SOMEWHERE IT WILL ACT LIKE ITS LOOKING FOR A GEAR BEFORE I BARELY START MOVING , HAD IT BACK TO FORD A NUMBER OF TIMES , THEY SAY ITS FINE ... NOW HAS 46000 ON IT , STILL DOES IT , HAVE CALLED AND SENT REGISTERED LETTERS TO FORD , THEY SAY BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WORK WITH THE DEALER (LOL ).. THEY JUST CLAIM THEY CHECK IT AND EVEN ASK IF I THOUGHT ABOUT TRADING IT IN ... YA RIGHT....WHAT I WOULD LIKE IS FOR THEM TO FIX IT. SOMETIMES WHEN...
ON TAKE OFF CAR WILL NOT ALWAYS GO INTO GEAR AND WHEN IT DOES IT DOES NOT HAVE MUCH POWER TO ACCELERATE LEAVING FOR A DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION. IF THE MOTOR IS SHUT OFF AND THE "COMPUTER" RESETS IT WILL RESET AND DRIVE OK FOR A SHORT TIME BUT THE PROBLEM REAPPEARS. CAR IS NOW PARKED UNTIL WE CAN FIGURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. HATE PAYING FOR A CAR THAT I CAN'T DRIVE.

THE CAR WAS STOPPED AND THEN PUT INTO 'REVERSE' WHERE IT SUCCESSFULLY REVERSED FROM A PARKING LOT ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET. WHEN PUT DIRECTLY INTO 'DRIVE' THE CAR CONTINUED TO REVERSE. AT THIS POINT THE SHIFTER CONTROL CABLE BROKE AND/OR STOPPED WORKING NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO BE PUT INTO ANY GEAR OTHER THAN 'PARK'. THE CAR WAS THEN PUT INTO 'PARK' WHERE IT STAYED STATIONARY IN A COMPROMISING POSITION UNTIL IT COULD BE TOWED.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY AT 72MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, THE TRANSFER CASE FAILED, CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE GEAR COMPLETELY. THIS CAUSED THE RPMS TO SKYROCKET AND THE CAR TO IMMEDIATELY BEGIN SLOWING DOWN - RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH SURROUNDING TRAFFIC. UNKNOWN WHAT CAUSED THE TRANSFER CASE TO FAIL.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE WHEN STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT THE SPECIFICS OF THE REPAIR COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
MY MOTHER OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE WITH THE 1.6L TURBOCHARGED ECOBOOST ENGINE. SHE NOTES THAT THE FUEL SENSORS IN THE CAR AREN'T INJECTING FUEL INTO THE ENGINE WHEN SHE ACCELERATES FROM A STOP, MEANING THE CAR WILL STICK IN NEUTRAL AND REV UNTIL IT KICKS BACK IN GEAR. SHE NOTES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. WE HAD TAKEN IT TO KELLER BROS. FORD WHICH IS WHERE SHE PURCHASED IT, AND THEY COULDN'T COME UP WITH THE PROBLEM. SO THEN WE WENT TO NEW HOLLAND FORD, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE GUY EVEN SHOWED MY MOM HOW TO RESET THE FUEL SENSOR. BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK UP AGAIN. MY MOM, I, AND HER BOYFRIEND ARE AT THE POINT WHERE IF SOMETIME THE CAR HESITATES, AND SOMEONE HITS HER, SHE'S GOING TO BE KILLED. FORD, YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I DON'T WANT...
THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN LESS THAN A MONTH. DRIVING THE FORD ESCAPE AT LOWER SPEEDS (LESS THAN 40 MPH) ON A CITY STREET DURING MORNING TRAFFIC HOURS. SUDDENLY HEARD A CONTINUOUS LOUD SOUND ON THE REAR RIGHT OF CAR. VEHICLE THEN LOST POWER. ENGINE SHUT DOWN. HAD TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE CAR. THEN IT WORKED FINE. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANY ERROR CODES WHEN I TOOK IN FOR SERVICE. THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 70F. NOT RAINING.

VEHICLE JERKS WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 3RD. ON HARD ACCELERATIONS THE VEHICLE WILL JERK AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL.
ENGINE IS REVVING UP TO 4000+ RMPS BEFORE SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. THE SHIFTING SLIPS AND THE VEHICLE LURCHES WHILE SHIFTING, SOMETIMES VERY ROUGH. TAKEN INTO THE SHOP AND FORD REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS (TORC CONVERTER AND OTHERS). WHILE IN THE SHOP SUDDENLY THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH EXHAUST FUMES POTENTIALLY BLOWING INTO THE CAB MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. FIXED THE ISSUES AND I PICKED UP MY CAR. NOW MY TURBO HAS NO GUT, AND IS SLOW ON THE PICK UP WHEN ACCELERATING. WILL BE TAKING BACK TO THE SHOP AGAIN.

JUST PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2014 FORD ESCAPE SE. A YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR. TROUBLE CODE P26B7 (DEALER SPECIFIC). IT LOOKS LIKE THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE BYPASS COOLANT SOLENOID OR COOLANT LEAKS. ALSO, STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS ONLY OCCASIONALLY WORK.
A FEW MONTHS AGO, I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT ON THE 2014 FORD ESCAPE SE 1.6L TURBOCHARGED ECOBOOST WITH I-4WD MY MOTHER CURRENTLY OWNS. SHE HAD ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. AT A STOPLIGHT OR WHLE MOVING AT A DECENT PACE (ABOUT 20-40MPH), THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY REV TOWARDS 4000-5000 AND NOT DROP INTO DRIVE. THIS HAD CONCERNED ME ALOT. MOM CALLED KELLER BROS. FORD HERE IN LITITZ, PENNSYLVANIA, AND SAID THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO TAKE HER CAR DOWN FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE UPDATE FIXED EVERYTHING. NO ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. AND SINCE THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE, I'VE NOTICED A HUGE DIFFERENCE. IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS MORE HORSES IN MY MOM'S CAR THAN THERE WAS BEFORE THE UPDATE. THE UPDATE HAPPENED 4-6 MONTHS AGO. WHENEVER CAR IS ON AND PARKED, NOT MOVING, OR GOING SLOWER THAN 20 MPH, THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL AND BLOWS EXTREMELY HOT AIR INTO THE CAR. IF I AM IN TRAFFIC, AT A STOP LIGHT, GETTING DRIVE THROUGH, OR PARKING THE CAR, IT QUICKLY GETS DANGEROUSLY HOT. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 100+ DEGREE DAYS CONSISTENTLY, WITH MY CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT I FEAR DRIVING MY VEHICLE IN THIS HEAT AS IT IS KNOWN TO KILL IN TEXAS. HAD A TRACTOR TRAILER BEEN BEHIND ME, THERE IS NO DOUBT THEY WOULD'VE HIT ME. APPARENTLY THE DEALERSHIP HAD 3 OTHER FORD ESCAPES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN THEIR SHOP. ANOTHER FRIEND OF MINE JUST PURCHASED HER FORD ESCAPE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, AND SHE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING AT 65MPH.
THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY. WITH THE HEADLIGHTS NOT ON, THE WIPERS WOULD WORK ERRATICALLY AND NOT EFFICIENTLY, CAUSING AN UNSAFE DRIVE DURING RAIN. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE TURNED ON, THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. TRYING TO RIDE HOME IN THE DARK WITH NO LIGHTS, NOR WIPERS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY CAUSED AN UNSAFE SITUATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE SIGNALS AND PARKING LIGHTS ARE DIMMING AND NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CAR IS PRESENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR TWO DAYS- HAS NOT BEEN LOOKED AT YET. *TR
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT INTERSECTION. UPON ATTEMPTING TO INITIATE RIGHT TURN, ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED AS IF IN NEUTRAL GEAR, AND VEHICLE HAD NO ACCELERATION. DEALER DIAGNOSED A LEFT-SIDE AXLE SEAL LEAK AND SAID THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS "ALL OVER". WHEN ASKED IF THIS WAS UNUSUAL FOR A NEW VEHICLE, DEALER REMARKED THAT IT WAS NOT, AND SAID THAT IT WAS THE THIRD SEAL LEAK THEY HAD SEEN IN A WEEK. *TR
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BETWEEN 1400-1600 RPM IT STARTS TO VIBRATE AND DRIVES ROUGH. IS THIS USUAL? HAD IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND COMPLAINED TO FORD. NO SATISFACTION!! *TR
PICKED UP 2014 FORD ESCAPE 1.6 ECOBOOST- OCTOBER 2013- ENGINE RPM' S REV TO 3-4 FOR NO REASON - SPORADICALLY- WHEN REMOTE STARTED, AND WHEN ELECTRIC STARTING CAR. BRAKES LOUD WHISTLING NOISES- COMES AND GOES- AUTO LIFT GATE OPENS HALF WAY SOMETIMES, CLOSES ON YOU WHEN YOUR LOADING THINGS SOMETIMES, REAR DOOR BEHIND DRIVER -CHILD LOCKS ON- CANT TURN OFF- PASSENGER CANT GET OUT OF THAT SIDE OF CAR- NO HEAT! TEMP GAUGE JUMPS FROM C TO H THEN BACK TO C. NO HEAT IN CAR EVEN AFTER REMOTE STARTING VEHICLE 2-3 TIMES AND LETTING IT RUN- CAR IS ICE COLD INSIDE. DEFROST DON'T WORK UNLESS ON MAX DEFROST AND ON HI - BLOWER DOESN'T SEEM TO BLOW ANYTHING - WHEN PUT ON DEFROST AND FEET IT BLOWS OUT VENTS INSTEAD. DUE TO NO HEAT INSIDE VEHICLE. FREEZE EVERY DAY DRIVING TO WORK.. BY THE TIME I GET TO WORK...
FIRST TIME (WHILE DRIVING)INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDLES JUMPED, DISPLAY READ P TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. CYCLE REPEATED A COUPLE OF TIMES THEN CLUSTER LIGHT TURNED OFF AND NEEDLES WENT TO OFF POSITION. DISPLAY ONLY READ PRND AND MILEAGE. CAR TAKEN TO DEALER ON11-7-13. CLUSTER REPLACED BY DEALER. PICKED CAR UP FROM DEALER 11-15-13. REPAIR WORKED ABOUT FOUR DAYS AND SAME CLUSTER PROBLEMS RETURNED AND BECAME WORSE. MULTIPLE TIMES CLUSTER WOULD NOT COME ON WHEN STARTING, MULTIPLE TIMES (WHILE DRIVING) CAR BEEPS AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS TURN ON DISPLAY READS SERVICE ENGINE & P TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK, CLUSTER GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING, MULTIPLE TIMES. TODAY, CLUSTER WON'T TURN ON, CLUSTER DISPLAY IS COMPLETELY BLACK, HEATER DOES NOT GET HOT, CANNOT CHANGE VENT FROM DEFROST TO DASH, RADIO WON'T TURN ON AUTOMATICALLY, DISPLAY ABOVE RADIO- TIME IS WRONG & NO TEMPERATURE READING, REAR VIEW CAMERA NOT WORKING. CAR TAKEN TO DEALER TODAY....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND STALL WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH AND ABOVE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN TOO SLOWLY. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO APPLY THE ACCELERATOR HARDER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALER ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF A TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THE MAKE AND MODEL BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
