THE FUEL PUMP RUNS CONTINUOUSLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DIE AND USUALLY LEAVES ME STRANDED. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL. THIS FEATURE IS DESIGNED TO NOT LET THE VEHICLES REAR WHEELS SPIN OUT OF RATIO, WHICH BASICALLY STOPS THE REAR TIRES FROM SPINNING OUT. HOWEVER, IT SENDS FALSE SIGNALS THAT THEY ARE IT STALLS THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN TBONED SEVERAL TIMES TO DUE THE TRUCK STALLING AND LEAVING ME A SITTING DUCK TO INCOMING TRAFFIC. LASTLY, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON, LEAVING ME TO BELIEVE IT'S ALSO RECEIVING FALSE SIGNALS. HOPEFULLY THEY DO NOT DEPLOY WHILE I'M DRIVING. I AM GETTING A LOUD HUMMING VIBRATION NOISE, SOUNDS LIKE A TURBO ISSUE WITH THE HEMI COMING EITHER FROM MY TRANSMISSION OR REAR AXEL AT HIGH AND LOW SPEED. IT'S MORE NOTICEABLE AT 65 TO 75 MPH HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO BILL BRYAN IN FLORIDA AND THEY WHERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES EXPERIENCING LOST OF POWER. ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2020 I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND WHILE AT THE STOP LIGHT MY TRUCK JUST CUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE KEY A FEW TIMES AND IT STARTED BACK UP. I THEN STOPPED BY WHATABURGER THAT SAME NIGHT AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TUESDAY AFTERNOON. TODAY WE WERE TOLD THAT IT IS THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN) THAT IS BAD. I UNDERSTAND THERE TO BE AN EXISTING SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS EXACT WIN MODULE BUT IT DOES NOT COVER OUR 2012 DODGE RAM PICKUP. I AM REQUESTING THAT YOU ADD THIS VEHICLE TO THE SAFETY RECALL AND THAT IT BE COVERED BY THE DEALERSHIP. BASED ON RECALL R03/NHTSA 14V-373 IT IS A KNOWN FAULTY MODULE.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, IT LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF. HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID MY VALVES, LIFTERS, AND CAMSHAFT WERE DAMAGED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 110,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE TRUCK LOST POWER, IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, LUCKY THOUGH I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IN ENOUGH TIME, BEFORE ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD HIT ME. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON THING, WITH THESE TRUCKS, THE MECHANIC CAN'T REPLACE THE PIECES BECAUSE OF OUT OF STOCK, SO HE WANTS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, BEFORE SOMEONE DOES GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.

I STARTED TO HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE TRUCK AS IT WOULD NOT START IN THE MORNINGS WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GO TO WORK. I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, MY BATTERY WOULD BE DEAD MOST MORNINGS. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT STILL THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED. THE TRUCK STARTED TO LOSE POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. HE TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM TO HAVE IT FIXED. I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK LESS THAT 7000 MILES SINCE I PURCHASED IT. AFTER SPEAKING WITH FCA, THEY SAY THAT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP OUT BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I WANT TO KNOW WHY A RECALL WAS NEVER PUT IN PLACE AND ENACTED BECAUSE...
AS I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH, AND APPROACHING THE CURVES ON THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME, I LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAD NO POWER STEERING, GAS, OR BRAKES. ALL GAUGES DROPPED TO 0 AND I HAD TO COAST TO BE ABLE TO STOP. HAD I MADE IT TO THE CURVES, BY VEHICLE WOULD OF CRASHED OFF THE SIDE OF ROAD. APPARENTLY THE PCM WENT BAD. THIS IS NOT A PART THAT SHOULD EVER GO BAD. THIS PART MALFUNCTION COULD OF KILLED ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. NONETHELESS IT WAS ALSO $1303, TOWING FEES, AND 5 DAYS OF CAR RENTAL. VEHICLE WOULD STALL/DIE WHILE DRIVING. AFTER BEING TOWED TO A SHOP, IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE A FAILED TIPM. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AT 61K MILES AND IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL/DIE WITHOUT NOTICE. NUMEROUS TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED RED, QUIT AND WAS HARD TO RESTART. VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC, AGAIN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE FIX WAS APPROX $1,200 + TOW BILL (VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR AFTER STALLING SEVERAL TIMES).
OCCASIONALLY WHEN DECELERATING ENGINE SHUTS OFF CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES (3) OVER PAST YEAR WHEN ON BOARD CPU STARTED CAUSING SINGLE HEADLIGHT TO STOP FUNCTIONING. THERE ARE NO TRADITIONAL FUSES FOR LIGHTS.
COOL AIR BLOWS ON DRIVERS SIDE AND WARM AIR BLOWS ON PASSENGER SIDE. HEATER DOES NOT GET HOT. JUST BARELY WARM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
MY 2012 RAM 1500 HAS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND IT USUALLY FADES OUT AFTER RUNNING THE ENGINE A LITTLE WHILE. ALSO THE THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK USING THE SWITCH AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL DOWN. THE AIR CONDITIONER SEEMS TO RUN WARM FROM TIME TO TIME AND HAS BEEN FILLED A FEW TIMES BUT NO LEAKS WERE DETECTED. THESE ISSUES HAPPENED OVER A COUPLE OF YEARS OWNING THIS TRUCK. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK WITH AROUND 30,000 MILES IN 2013/2014 IT NOW HAS 50,000 MILES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE AIR BAG INDICATOR TWICE BEFORE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I'M ONE OF THE FEW OWNERS OF A RAM 1500 WITH A COMMON PROBLEM. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IT HAS BECOME A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH RAM OWNERS LIKE MYSELF. FIRST IT SEEMS AS IF YOUR FUEL PUMP HAD GONE OUT AND YOUR TRUCK WILL NOT START. AFTER CONTACTING MECHANICS AND PAYING AROUND $900TO REPLACE IT THE PROBLEM STILLS EXIST. THEN AFTER SONOROUS ATTEMPTS TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS IT'S THE RELAY THAT RAM DEALERS KNOW ALL ABOUT. IT COST AROUND A$1000 OR MORE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I'VE CONTACTED THEM AND MADE THEM AWARE OF THE PROBLEM THAT MYSELF AND OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING AND THEY SAY THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO THEY WILL NOT RECALL THE PROBLEM THEY KNOW YOUR GOING TO HAVE PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE TRUCK. TIPM COMPUTER ISSUES. FUEL PUMP NOT SHUTTING OFF DUR TO RELAY STICKING INSIDE THE TIPM. RANDOM ENGINE SHUTDOWN IN TRAFFIC. ABS SYSTEM INACTIVE DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES INSIDE THE TIPM. ENGINE CODES FROM OPTIONS NOT INSTALLED IN THE TRUCK FROM FACTORY. TIPM NOT RECOGNIZING KEY IN IGNITION (CANNOT START WITH KEY. ONLY BY REMOTE) BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO ABS MODULE NOT GETTING SIGNAL FROM TIPM.
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN OR ON THE FREEWAY THE TRUCK WILL TURN OFF COMPLETELY. RADIO STAYS ON LIGHTS FLICKER BUT YOU LOOSE ALL POWER AND ABILITY TO TURN OR BRAKE. THIS HAPPENED IN TOWN GOING 25 MPH AND ALSO ON THE FREEWAY GOING 75 MPH. WHEN IT HAPPENS YOU MUST PUT THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE ENGINE AND PRAY IT STARTS BECAUSE YOU LOOSE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICULAR MOVEMENTS ONCE THE STEERING LOCKS UP. ONCE STARTED IT USUALLY GOES FOR AWHILE BUT THE OTHER DAY WHILE ON THE FREEWAY IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES. ONCE WHILE ACCELERATING UP A HILL SURROUNDED BY CARS AND SEMI TRUCKS. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN BECAUSE BY LOOSING ELECTRICAL FUNCTION AND POWER TO A CAR/TRUCK COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS TIPM HAS BEEN REPLACED, FLOOR BOARD GETS EXTREMELY HOT AT TIMES, FUEL PUMP & EXTERNAL RELAY, ISSUES WITH STARTING AND DIEING SINCE APPROX. NOV 2017.

2012 DODGE RAM 1500 EXPRESS 2WD / 2 DOOR TRUCK. ON MARCH 21, 2018 AT 9:00 AM, I HAD A FIRE IN THE CENTER OF MY STEERING WHEEL BY MY AIRBAG. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY ENTIRE ELECTRICAL WIRE HARNESS CAUGHT ON FIRE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL ONLY COVER NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. PASSENGER SIDE HIGH AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT AT ANY TIME. WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM IS THE TCIM. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF THEY GO OUT WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN THE DARK. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE TCIM IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND MAY ONLY SOLVE THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY.
