TAKATA RECALL I [XXX] MADE A REPORT IN FEBRUARY 2014 ABOUT MY DODGE RAM 1500 I REPORT ABOUT MY AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD WRECK BY FALLING ASLEEP ON THE INTERSTATE GOING TO WORK WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND HE HIT A BIG TRUCK ,YES HE HIT THE STEER WHEEL, BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK, DID 15,000 DOLLARS DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK, THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE,WE WHERE OFFER THE BUY BACK PROGRAM AND WE TOLD THE DODGE COMPANY YES TAKE THIS TRUCK CAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE BUT THEY SAID WE WHERE UPSIDE ON THE AMOUNT WE OWE,WE RISK OUR LIVES WITH THIS TRUCK EVERYDAY ,THIS HAS ALSO HAS A LOT OF ELECTRIC PROBLEM INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING (STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK UP AND BRAKE PEDAL BECOME HARD), THE FUEL PUMP RELAY LOCATED WITH IN THE (TIPM) FAILS CAUSES VEHICLE NOT TO START OR RUN, ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS; SOME LIGHTS WORKING EVERY NOW AND THEN, CIGARETTE LIGHTER BLOWING FUSE,
MY VEHICLE WILL NOT CRANK ALL THE TIME. THE BOX UNDER THE HOOD IS GOING OUT AND IT CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO CATCH ON FIRE. OUR MECHANIC CAN NOT FIND THE REPLACEMENT PART. WE OUT NEW STARTER BATTERY AND FUEL PUMP ON IT. IT CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO RUN WITHOUT A KEY.
IN AUGUST 2017 A DEFECTIVE ROLLER BEARING WENT OUT WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, EFFECTIVELY DESTROYING THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE. COST TO REPAIR WAS $4,000. IN DECEMBER 2017 TIPM POWER MODULE MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING HEADLIGHTS TO NOT WORK. COST TO REPLACE $1,150. BOTH ITEMS HAVE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEING DEFECTIVE.
MY TRUCK WILL NOT CRANK SOMETIMEA. I PUT A NEW STARTER AND NEW BATTERY ON IT AND IT WORKS FOR A WHILE AND THEN STOPS. ONE TIME THE FUEL PUMP RAN WITH THE TRUCK TURNED OFF MY SERVICE MAN SAYS IT'S THE COMPUTER BOX AND THIS MORNING IT WOULD NOT CRANK AT ALL. THIS PART IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND HARD TO FIND, FROM WHAT I'VE READ THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL.
TTOTALLY INTERGRAED POWER MODULE (TIPM) RECALL ON THE DODGE RAM 2011 THE BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING OVER NIGHT STATIONARY PARK IN DRIVEWAY.
VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING ENDANGERING PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND AS THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING NOR WAS THERE POWER BRAKES. AFTER MANY TESTS IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE A FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, ALSO KNOWN AS A TIPM. THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FAILURE HAS BEEN SUBJECT TO A RECALL ON JEEP AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES DUE TO THE SAME COMPONENT FAILING. SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN A TWO LANE CITY HIGHWAY, LET OFF THE GAS, AND LOST ALL POWER.
MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM NOT WORKING PROPERLY. OVER TIME IT HAS GOT A LOT WORSE I WENT THROUGH AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP WITH THE ORIGINAL PUMP AND STILL HASN'T HELPED. THROUGH RESEARCH I WAS ABLE TO NARROW IT DOWN TO A TIPM ISSUE. NOT ONLY IS IT AFFECTING MY FUEL SYSTEM BUT ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL AT RANDOM GO UP A FEW INCHES WHEN UNLOCKING THE TRUCK OR OPENING THE DOOR. THE FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE IS WHEN I GO TO START IT WILL JUST CRANK CONSTANTLY AND NOT START TO NOW I MIGHT GET IT STARTED AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS BUT THEN IT JUST STALLS AFTER A SECOND OF RUNNING. IT HAS ALSO AT TIME WHILE DRIVING JUST RANDOMLY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CREATING A HAZARD OF A ACCIDENT. I SEE THIS SEEMS TO...
THE TRUCK TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. DUE TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DURING NIGHT OR DAY. SMALL BUMPS IN THE ROAD CAUSE A SHORT. MY TRUCK ISN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES IT I SPOKE TO OTHER DODGE OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM
MY VEHICLE IS STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, MY BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP AND I JUST HAD TO TRY TO GET IT STOPPED AND TURNED OFF. ALSO, MY FUEL PUMP REMAINS RUNNING AFTER I HAVE TURNED MY PICKUP OFF. I HAVE GONE THROUGH TWO BRAND NEW FUSE BOXES, AND TWO FUEL PUMPS TO TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS WHAT CONTINUES TO FRY, WHICH IN TURN FRIES MY ENTIRE FUSE BOX DUE TO IT BEING BUILT INTO THE ACTUAL MODULE WITHIN THE FUSE BOX. I AM $1600 IN WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS EACH TIME- I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THE ISSUE, AND I CAME ACROSS MULTIPLE RECALL NOTICES FOR A 5.7 L HEMI, WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE IN MY PICKUP.
CRANK NO START. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT WILL START. SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST DIE WHILE DRIVING. THEY USED THE RECALL KIT FOR THE CHEROKEE TO FIX MY TRUCK. I HAVE THE SAME TIPM COMPUTER AS A CHEROKEE SO WHY ISN'T MY VEHICLE INCLUDED ON SAME RECALL?
JUST STOPPED STARTING PUT FUEL PUMP ON AND STILL DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEMS. CALLED DODGE AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, FUEL PUMP REMAINS ON AFTER KEY REMOVAL, WILL NOT START EASILY. FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE IN TIPM. ENGINE STOPPING HAS OCCURRED WHILE TURNING ONTO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY AND IN A PARKING LOT. IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES.
I WAS HAVING ISSUES STARTING MY TRUCK, SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. I LEARNED THE ISSUE WAS A FAULTY TIPM SENDING BAD SIGNALS TO THE FUEL PUMP. BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS INTEGRATED AND DEPENDANT ON ONE ANOTHER THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND EXTENSIVE.
AFTER TURNING MY VEHICLE OFF I CAN STILL HEAR A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR CENTER PORTION OF MY VEHICLE LIKE WHERE THE FUEL PUMP IS. IT IS LIKE THE FUEL PUMP STILL RUNNING IT DRAINS MY BATTERY DEAD
MY TRUCK WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START SOMETIMES AFTER BEING PARKED FOR A WHILE. I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN FROM THE HUMIDITY. IT WILL CRANK AND NOT START A COUPLE OF TIMES MORE OFTEN NOW. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY SOMETIMES, IT WILL SPUTTER FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN FROM HAVING A LITTLE WATER IN THE GASOLINE FROM THE ETHANOL. I'VE BEEN USING FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND SEAFOAM EVERY SO OFTEN SINCE 2014. THE TRUCK IS 6 YEARS OLD. I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT HOW OTHERS HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY GOING BAD ON THE SAME YEAR MODEL VEHICLE AND OTHER MAKE/MODELS BY DODGE.
MY TRUCK IS A 2011 WITH ONLY 63 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. THE TRUCK WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START RIGHT AWAY WHEN COLD. AT FIRST IT WOULD RUN FINE ONCE WARM BUT EVENTUALLY IT STARTED STALLING WHEN WARM. I THOUGHT IT WAS EITHER THE FUEL PUMP OR THE TPIM WHICH I FOUND OUT ABOUT ONLINE AS MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT'S DEFINITELY THE FUEL PUMP. I WENT TO A LOCAL SHOP TO HAVE THEM TEST IT AND SURPRISE, SURPRISES IT WAS THE TPIM. WELL IT'S A THOUSAND DOLLAR PART AND ANOTHER $500 TO PROGRAM THE NEW ONE. THE ISSUE IS WITH A RELY THE CHRYSLER PUT IN THE UNIT THE IS PART OF THE MOTHER BOARD. SO INSTEAD OF REPLACING ONE RELAY THAT ENTIRE UNIT HAS TO BE REPLACED. YES A $1500 JOB FOR A 5 CENT RELAY THAT DODGE...
TRUCK MAKES LOUD RUMBLING SOUNDS ON BOTTOM. THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK THAT DRAINS BATTERY RESULTING IN THE TRUCK NOT STARTING. STRANDED MANY PLACES BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE
TIPM REPLACEMENT WITH ONLY 53,700 MILES ON THE TRUCK. THE TIPM CAN PREVENT AIRBAGS FROM DEPLOYING AND MAKES THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START WITHOUT REPLACING THE MODULE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR MANY DODGE VEHICLES, INCLUDING DURANGO, TOWN AND COUNTRY ETC.

TIPM FAILED AT 60,120 MILES (TOTTALY INTREGATED POWER MODULE) TRUCK WOULD NOT START

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER RESET THE SYSTEM, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE. FOR A WHILE TRUCK WOULD JUST LOSE POWER AND JERK AT HIGH SPEED. ONCE IT DIED COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING AT A MODERATE SPEED. EVENTUALLY IT JUST WOULDN'T START AT ALL. PURCHASED THE EXTERNAL RELAY KIT AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. SINCE THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR TIPM IN MANY DIFFERENT VEHICLES, I'M ANNOYED THAT THIS WASN'T PART OF A RECALL. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE DANGER OF A VEHICLE TURNING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF OPERATION.
MY TRUCK STARTED OUT WITH A DEAD BATTERY WHICH I REPLACED AND IT STARTED IN 9/16. AROUND 12/17/16 I WAS PARKED IN MY TRUCK TALKING TO MY NEIGHBOR WHEN I DECIDED TO TURNOFF TRUCK AND GET OUT OF TRUCK. I TURNED THE KEYFOB TO OFF POSITION ONLY TO HAVE IT STAY RUNNING, I THAN TURNED KEYFOB BACK TO ON POSITION THAN BACK OFF WHERE IT SHUT OFF. I PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY SAME DAY AND THAN THE KEYFOB STUCK IN OFF POSITION WITH TRUCK STILL RUNNING. MY HUSBAND GO IN IT AND STARTED TO FOOL AROUND WITH IT PUTTING IT INTO NEUTRAL THAN PARK THAN REVERSE AND IT FINALLY CAME OUT. 1/11/ 17 I STARTED TRUCK NOTICED TIPM LIGHT ON AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON. I PULLED OUT OF DRIVEWAY THE TIPM LIGHT WENT OUT BUT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STAYED ON THE WHOLE ENTIRE TIME I WAS DRIVING IT. THEN...
MOTOR NEEDED REPLACED THEN CAM SENSOR THEN CRANK SENSOR NOW ENGINE WIRING & SENSOR FLUID TEMPERATURE & MODULE POWERTRAIN CO DEALER HAS HAD VEHICLE SINCE 10/10/16 MOTOR OVER HEATED HAD TO PULL OFF ROAD GOT VEHICLE BACK AFTER PAYING FOR NEW ENGINE GOT BACK THEN ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER STALLED EACH TIME WHILE DRIVING. *TR

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER AN INVESTIGATION, WHICH WAS CLOSED WITH NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000.
MY INFORMATION AND A SHORT STORY FOLLOWS: IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE QUICK THINKING AND FAST REFLEXES OF MY WIFE, WHEN THE TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING AT 60 MILES PER HOUR ON A MAJOR FREEWAY, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. AS IT TURNED OUT SHE WAS ABLE TO STEER THE TRUCK TO THE EMERGENCY LANE WHICH WAS NO SIMPLE FEAT CONSIDERING THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING AND NO POWER BRAKES. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO MY DEALER WHEN WE GOT HOME AND IT TOOK THEM 6 DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE DIAGNOSES IT TOOK ANOTHER 2 DAYS TO GET THE PART AND TO INSTALL IT. ALL I WANT IS TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF THE TIPM MODULE AND THE INSTALLATION FEE. THE RECEIPT AND ITEMIZED WORK LIST ARE ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL.

I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING MY TRUCK, SO I JUMPED IT WITH A BOOSTER PACK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN AND WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN IT BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALER AND THEY FOUND A FLASH FOR WCM THAT STATES FIXES INTERMITTENT START ISSUE AND REPROGRAMMED WCM. IT WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN AGAIN BEGAN HAVING ISSUES STARTING AGAIN. I READ ONLINE THAT IF I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN TRY STARTING IT WILL WORK. THIS SEEMS TO WORK BUT IT IS ANNOYING AND I AM WORRIED IT WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED OR WORSE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

I SPENT 30+ MINUTES TRYING TO GET MY TRUCK TO START THEN WHEN I FINALLY GOT IT TO START WHERE I COULD DRIVE IT I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF THEN THEN NOT EVEN TO MINUTES LATER MY TRUCK STALLED OUT ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY AND WOULDNT START BACK UP FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES OR SO.

9-16-16: VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND HAD TO BE "JUMPED". 9-17-16: NEW BATTERY INSTALLED BUT LATER IN THE DAY, STARTING PROBLEMS WENT ON. 9-19-16: VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER; INITIAL PROBLEM IDENTIFIED AS NEEDING NEW FUEL PUMP AND PLUGS. LATER, THIS WAS THEN IDENTIFIED AS HAVING A FAULTY "TIPM" AND THAT COST WOULD BE OVER $2000.00 (THAT INCLUDED A NEW FUEL PUMP. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS APPARENTLY BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT TAKE ACTION TO ISSUE A RECALL. IN REALITY, DID WE BUY A VEHICLE WHICH THE MANUFACTURER KNEW TO CONTAIN DEFECTIVE PARTS? PARTS, WHICH IN REALITY, CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES? SHAME ON THEM! I THOUGHT THAT I HAD A QUALITY VEHICLE. THE TIPM OUR DODGE TRUCK IS FAULTY. IT HAS ISSUES STARTING, THE LIGHTS WILL STOP WORKING, THE LIGHTS ON DASH COME ON, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE OIL JUST DISAPPEARING, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THAT SEVERAL VEHICLES UNDER CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH FAULTY TIPM AND THERE WAS EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT,BUT THE NHTSA FELT THERE WASN'T ENOUGH OF AN ISSUE WITH THE DODGE RAMS TO PUSH FOR A RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE PUSHED FOR A RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING IN A LOT OF RAMS AND THEY ARE PASSED THE WARRANTY AND WHEN YOU PURCHASE A NEW WARRANTY THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED. ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID OUT OF POCKET. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE BEEN AWARE OF FOR YEARS. OUR DODGE RAM HAS BEEN AT THE SHOP...
VEHICLE CRANKS BUT DOE NOT START, ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNINGS. DEALER INSTALLED AN EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY, HOPEFULLY IT WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE.
2011 RAM 1500 SPORT WITH TIPM-7. VEHICLE STARTED HAVING PROBLEM STARTING, I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A LOSS IN FUEL PRESSURE. REPLACED FUEL PUMP. DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCH FOUND OUT THIS TRUCK HAS TIPM-7. REPAIR SHOP VERIFIED THIS. THE INJECTORS WERE CHECKED AND WERE FINE. ENGINE RUNS PERFECTLY AFTER START. DIAGNOSIS FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE SAME FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT CHRYSLER RECALLED 230,000 VEHICLES IN 2014 AND AN ADDITIONAL 467,000 VEHICLES IN 2015. WHY WON'T CHRYSLER FIX THEIR SCREW UPS?
TIPM TRUCK WONT START BECAUSE OF THIS.. POWER WINDOWS HAD BEEN ACTING UP.. NOW FIND OUT AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IF GET IN ACCIDENT.. REALLY? THIS ISNT A RECALL?
AT FIRST THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STARTING IMMEDIATELY WHEN TURNING THE KEY, THEN I HEARD A BUZZING SOUND COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK MY HUSBAND HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR IT TO STOP. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEPT AT A DODGE DEALER AND AT THE TIME THEY COULD NOT VERIFY PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT AND NOTE WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I DROVE IT A FEW MORE TIMES AND WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WOULD DIE MORE FREQUENTLY WITH THE ON HILLS, FROM A STOP SIGN, AND ON STRAIGHT AWAYS, ONCE THE STEERING FROZE. THERE WERE FEW DAYS OF THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING AT ALL. A VEHICLE OWNER SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THEIR TRUCK, WHICH I AM. A MONTH LATER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPT AND THEY HEARD THE BUZZING SOUND AND THEN WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS RANDOMLY FLICKERED AND EVENTUALLY FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V879000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, INTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED INTERMITTENTLY FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75.
HAVING TIPM ISSUES WITH MY DODGE RAM 1500 IT HAS MY VEHICLE NOT WANTING TO TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO START IT. AFTER A FEW TRIES IT EVENTUALLY TURNS OVER, BUT TODAY WHEN COMING BACK HOME MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN CAUSING TO COAST DOWN THE STREET LUCKILY I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY OR ON A BUSY STREET.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY 2011 RAM 1500 STOPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET AND STEERING WHEEL GOT HARD AND IT WAS HARD TO START UP. SO I TOOK IT TO GET FIXED THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP SO WE REPLACED IT,THEN I WOULD TURN THE KEY AND IT WOULD STAY STUCK TRYING TO TURN ON KILLED MY BATTERY BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN NOW THE FUEL PUMP WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL I PULL THE FUSE NOW THE SAY IT'S THE TIPM I CALLED THE DEALER AND SAID NO RECALL BUT I'M HAVING ALL THE PROBLEMS AS THE CARS THAT DO! I PUT ALL THAT I HAD TO GET A RELIABLE TRUCK FOR MY KIDS AND I AND THIS HAPPENS.

THE BATTERY AND TWO FUSES WERE REPLACED BY THE CONTACT, BUT THE FAILURE RANDOMLY PROGRESSED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND RANDOMLY STALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION SO THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING TO APPROXIMATELY 100 MPH. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TURNED OFF; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE REVVED EVEN THOUGH THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A ROLLING STOP WHEN IT WAS PLACED IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE...
EVERYTHING RAN FINE IN THE MORNING, TRUCK SAT FOR A FEW HOURS THEN WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID MOTOR WON'T WORK, POWER LOCKS ARE OUT, HIGH BEAMS WON'T SHUT OFF AT ALL, AND POWER LOCKS ARE OUT AS WELL.
