THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT AND CRUISE CONTROL WARNING WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACTED STATED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM OPERATED AS INTENDED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THIS SUMMER I WAS CROSSING AN OVERPASS TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP TO MAJOR INTERSTATE WHICH MAKES ME CROSS IN FRONT OF 4 LANES ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND MY CAR JUST DIED!! I WAS HEADED DIRECTLY FOR THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH MY FAMILY ONBOARD. I WAS STRANDED IN 100+ DEGREE WEATHER BEING DISABLED WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME NOW WITH 2 TEENS NEEDING DRIVING HRS FOR PERMIT I'M TERRIFIED TO ALLOW THEM TO DRIVE MY ONLY CAR. DODGE YOU NEED TO RECALL MY ENTIRE CAR AND REPLACE THIS WITH SOMETHING SAFE FOR MY FAMILY!
MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO HAS TROUBLE STARTING ON THE FIRST START. MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A BULLETIN REGARDING THE ISSUE AND INFORMED ME THAT WE SHOULD TRY UPDATING THE SOFTWARE. THAT DID NOT WORK. DURANGO CONTINUES TO SPUTTER WHEN IT IS STARTED. IT EVENTUALLY DOES START EITHER ON ITS OWN OR AFTER ANOTHER TRY. WILL ATTEMPT ANOTHER SOLUTION AT NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERVICE.

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT WILL RANDOMLY BEGIN TO STALL WHEN DRIVING AND POWER OFF. ONCE YOU LET YOU SIT IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP KIND ROUGH AND THEN DRIVE FINE. THEN COUPLE DAYS LATER IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. MY WIFE WAS MAKING A TURN WHEN IT STALLED AND ALMOST GOT T BONED. WE TOOK IT IN FOR THE FUEL PUMP RECALL BUT NO PARTS HAVE BEEN PUSHED OUT FOR THIS RECALL NOR HAVE BEEN MADE. THEY TOLD.US TO JUST KEEP DRIVING IT EVEN THOUGH ITS ASKING G FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN. I ASKED FOR A REPLACEMENT CAR AND WAS DENIED AND WAS TOLD I CAN TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER BUT THEY SAID THE SAME THING.
I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE. MY VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT NOTHING FIXES THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IT HAPPENS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WHEN MY VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKS UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DIRECT THE CAR. IT HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING AND PULLING UP TO A STOP LIGHT. THIS STARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO BUT I'M PUTTING THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED AS THE DATE.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 159,000.
IN THE LAST MONTH INCLUDING TODAY 10/28/2019 THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ABRUPTLY IN MOTION LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ALL INTERIOR ACCESSORIES LIGHTS AND GAUGES REMAINED ON NO ACCELERATION VEHICLE HAD TO BE STOPPED PUT IN PARK AND RE STARTED AFTERWARDS EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO WARNINGS NOTHING WE WILL BE TRADING IT IN AS WE FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH OUR CHILDREN
IT GOES INTO 4LOW WITHOUT TURNING THE SWITCH ON. MAKES IT UNSAFE TO TURN SHARP AND FAST. WE REPLACED THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCH AND IT STILL DOES IT.
THE 4WD MESSAGE STARTING DISPLAYING ON MY DASHBOARD, THE AWD/LO NEUTRAL LIGHT WAS ON, I TRIED FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL TO TURN IT OFF, BUT IT DID NOT WORK. WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE MESSAGE TO SHUT OFF BY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THEN MY CAR BEGAN TO GO IN REVERSE, MY BREAKS WOULD NOT WORK, AND I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON. EVEN WITH THE CAR SHUT OFF THE CAR WILL ROLL, I HAVE KEPT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON AND WAITING FOR A MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE DURANGO'S AND DODGE HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECALL THESE FAULTY SWITCHES. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AS I COULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF MY VEHICLE WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL CAUSING DANGER FOR ANYONE AROUND.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SANDS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 501 N WEST END BLVD, QUAKERTOWN, PA 18951, (215) 536-0946), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. BEFORE I WAS AT A PLACE TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY (TWO MILES) THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. SO THERE I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK. THE 220 AMP ALTERNATOR HAD THE FAULTY DIODE LIKE THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. THE DIODE FAILED AND CAUSED A DEAD SHORT. THE ALTERNATOR SHORT RUINED THE BATTERY AND THE PCM. THIS IS THE T36 RECALL TO A 'T' BUT DODGE SAYS MY VIN NUMBER SHOWS IT'S NOT RECALLED. THE PARTS AND LABOR WERE 1411.88. THAT'S NOT INCLUDING THE TOW SERVICE BILL OR THE RENTAL CAR THAT I HAD TO USE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT CHRYSLER IS BEING ALLOWED TO RIP PEOPLE OFF KNOWING FULL WELL ITS THEIR WORTHLESS PARTS AT THE ROOT OF IT ALL. NO GOVERNMENT AGENCY SHOULD SIT BY...
VEHICLE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. TWO MILES LATER SHUT OFF WITH NO CONTROL OVER STEERING OR BRAKING. VEHICLE HAD A FAULTY ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS NOT COVERED BY THE T36 RECALL. ALTERNATOR OVERHEATED, RUINED THE BATTERY AND PCM. THE ALTERNATOR WAS SENDING REVERSE POLARITY WHEN TRYING TO JUMP START. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MODEL YEARS. IT SHOULD BE COVERED IN RECALL AND ISN'T. THIS PART HAS RUINED MY WHOLE MONTHLY BUDGET AND IS CHRYSLER'S FAULT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY THERE WAS A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THEN DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED TURNING ON AN OFF RANDOMLY, THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT OUT. LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. TRAVELING 45 MPH ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. STEERED THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. UNDER THE HOOD, IT LOOKED LIKE THE ALTERNATOR AND/OR BATTERY WERE SMOKING. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON 2011 DODGE DURANGO FOR A FAULTY ALTERNATOR BUT MY DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE CURRENT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO ABOUT 45 MPH, MY BATTERY LITE CAME ON, WITHIN A MATTER OF APPROX 2 MINUTES, ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND WERE BLINKING AND ALARMING, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON, MY AC TURNED OFF, MY FASTEN SEAGHT BELT LIGHTS CAME ON AND ALARMED AND THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST POWER AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I QUICKLY TRIED TO HANOVER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ONTO INCOMING TRAFFIC. AT THE SAME TIME THE BRAKES WENT OUT THEN THE ENTIRE DASH/PANEL WENT OUT AS WELL AS MY HEADLIGHTS. THIS WAS 6 AM AND IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE. I GOT OVER THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AND GET OFF THE BUSY STREET. I THEN HAD TO WAIT TILL THE CAR STOPPED ON ITS OWN AS THE BRAKES DID...

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH SMOKE AND THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNT ELECTRICAL ODOR. ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS SURROUNDED BY FLAMES. UPON A SECOND EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT REMOVED THE BATTERY COVER UNDERNEATH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT TO ENSURE THAT THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED WITHIN THE ALTERNATOR AND HAD NOT SPREAD ELSEWHERE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ITSELF (FIZZLED OUT). A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CROSSROADS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE...
CAR BEGAN MISFIRING WHILE DRIVING, AND THEN WOULD NOT MOVE ONCE STOPPED AND THEN PUT BACK INTO GEAR. ENGINE LIGHT AND FCW INDICATORS CAME ON. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE TWO SENSORS. PROBLEM RETURNED AFTER REPLACEMENT. NEXT DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE ALL 16 SPARK PLUGS WITH BOOTS. STILL DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS CHECKED TO FIND ANY LEAKS, NONE WERE FOUND, BUT A NEW CODE ORIGINATED TO RE-FLASH COMPUTER. COMPUTER WAS PULLED AND FOUND TO BE TAKING ON WATER AND CORRODING TERMINALS. COMPUTER WAS CLEANED AND RE-SEALED TO FIX PROBLEM. BUT COMPUTER IS LIKELY TO TAKE ON MORE WATER AND CORRODE AGAIN. TOTAL REPAIR WAS OVER 1600.00 AND 20 DAYS IN SHOP. INCLUDED DOCUMENT DOES NOT INCLUDE INITIAL SENSORS AND PLUG REPLACEMENT. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT BASED ON OBSERVATION, WIRES CONNECTING TO COMPUTER HAD BEEN WORKED ON IN THE PAST, LIKELY TO ADDRESS SIMILAR PROBLEM
THE DASH BOARD WILL LIGHT UP AND THE WINDSHELD WIPERS WILL START TO GO WITH OUT DOING ANYTHING, THEN THE DASHBOARD FAILS AND POWERS DOWN AND THEN TRIES TO START BACK UP. IT CAUSED MY DURANGO TO LOSE POWER THEN POWER BACK UP. I DO HAVE A VIDEO THAT I WILL TRY TO INCLUDE PLEASE EXCUSE THE LANGUAGE IN IT.
VEHICLE IS STILL STALLING AFTER I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE RECALL HAS BEEN ADDRESSED. IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE THE DEALER FIXED THE RECALLS AND THIS IS THE SECOND DAY MY CAR HAS STALLED WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL.

THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL & SMOKE COMING FROM MY CAR. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF IT WENT COMPLETELY DEAD. I HAD THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY REPLACED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR $640. PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR MELTING
ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHED AND CENTER DISPLAYED SYSTEM ERROR THEN FCW ERROR THEN THE FCW LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ONE. AFTER ANOTHER FEW SECONDS THE RADIO POWERS ON AND OFF AND EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL BUT THE THE BATTERY LIGHT REMAINS ON.
I'VE HAD EACH OF THE 2 COMPRESSORS IN THE VEHICLE REPLACED TWICE IN ADDITION BOTH OF THE ACTUATOR DOORS ON THE FRONT A/C HAVE ALSO BROKEN.
ALTERNATOR SMOKING AND WINDING NOISE AND BATTERY LIGHT AND ALL DASH LIGHTS ON LOSS OF ALL POWER AND DRAINED BATTERY WHILE DRIVING
MY CAR HAS STALLED ON ME TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING 50 MPH. A LIGHT COMES ON SAYING FCW OFF AND MY WHEEL LOCKS AND MY CAR STOPS. I AM CURRENTLY 8 1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT AND AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR. I HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON THIS MORNING AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME MOVE IT UNTIL I TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON THEN IT'S FINE. THIS IS A LARGE CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE I TRAVEL ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK EVERYDAY.
ON 4/16/18 I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO PHILLIPS CJDR TO TAKE CARE OF A MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR THE ALTERNATOR DIODE THERMAL FATIGUE (T36/NHTSA 17V-435.) WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE I WAS INFORMED THAT NO SAFETY INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO IT BEING RELEASED BACK TO ME. I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND IT DIDN'T SEEM AS IF IT WAS DRIVING RIGHT, BUT WE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT JUST NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN. THE NEXT TIME WE DROVE THE VEHICLE WAS 4/25/18, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO DROP MY CHILDREN OFF AT SCHOOL WHICH IS ONLY 7 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. WHEN I WENT TO START MY VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT START. IT APPEARED TO BE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS GETTING NO POWER. AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE IT STARTED WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME....
THE LAST RECALL THAT WAS PERFORMED WAS THE P54 FUEL RELAY. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS SOMEWHERE IN THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE REASON I SUSPECT THIS IS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS LOTS OF INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY FOR NO REASON SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, POWER LOCKS OPEN ON THEIR OWN, VEHICLE HAS DIFFICULTY STARTING AT TIMES AND THEN STARTS RIGHT UP MOST OF THE TIME, AND ALL WITHOUT A WARNING OR ERROR CODE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE MOST RECENT PROBLEM ALMOST KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY THIS MORNING AS THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, AGAIN NO ERROR CODES OR WARNINGS. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE OPENED BECAUSE THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE CAN TURN OFF AT ANY MOMENT AND WITHOUT WARNING.

T36 ALTERNATOR. I GOT A RECALL IN THE MAIL FOR ME TO TAKE MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE MY ALTERNATOR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY ALTERNATOR WAS NOT LISTED AS AFFECTED FROM MY VIN. A WHILE AFTERWARDS, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FRIEND IN THE CAR AND MY CAR SYSTEMS SLOWLY BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN AND MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE TOWED BY TRIPLE A TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT MY CAR'S ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED. I PAID $638.60 OUT OF POCKET FOR A REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR. WHILE DRIVING AFTER A 30 MINUTE COMMUTE AND ENTERING STOP AND GO DOWNTOWN MORNING COMMUTE TRAFFIC, (SLOW, DRIVING ON CITY STREETS BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC) MY DURANGO BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT INTO THE CABIN. WHEN I SHOWED UP TO MY APPOINTMENT, THE SERVICE ADVISOR WAS RUDE AND ENDED UP TELLING ME THAT HE JUST PUT HIS LAST PARTS ON ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. I SHOWED UP FOR NOTHING. SO I CALL AROUND SINCE NOVEMBER OF 2017 TO FIND A DEALER WITH THE PARTS.
