I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY WITH MY 3 KIDS AND THE VAN SHUTDOWN WITHOUT WARNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT BECAME A VERY DANGEROUS EVENT SINCE WE DID NOT HAVE BREAKING AND VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. AFTER, GETTING TO THE SHOULDER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN, ALTHOUGH IT HAD A FULL TANK OF FUEL. THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. AND IT LOCK THE STARTER IN THE IGNITION PHASE AS IF I WAS HOLDING THE KEY ON AFTER THE CAR STARTS. I CYCLED THE KEY AND NOTICED THAT IF I HELD IT RIGHT, IT WOULD NOT LOCK THE STARTER IN THE STARTING POSITION. HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I SAW THERE WERE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND ONE ABOUT THE IGNITION.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VAN SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. DIAGNOSED WITH STUCK VALVE AND GEAR STUCK IN 3RD OR 2ND YEAR. VAN WOULDN'T DRIVE OVER 45 RPMS HAD TO EXIT FREEWAY FAST. RPMS ACTING SPORADICALLY FROM 0 TO 5 DROPPING RAPIDLY AND INCREASING. MY LIFE WAS AT RISKED DUE TO FAST TRAFFIC APPROACHING. SEMI'S, CARS AND TRUCKS HEADED TOWARDS ME AT 75 MPH.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM TWICE IN THE 1 YEAR I OWNED THE VEHICLE. FIRST ISSUE I HAD WAS WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS WHILE IN A UNDESIRABLE LOCATION. THE SECOND TIME THE TIPM WAS REPLACED WAS AFTER MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD EITHER WORK OR NOT WORK AND SOMETIMES ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT WOULD TURN ON. IT WAS SPORADIC. THIS COULD LEAD TO SAFETY ISSUES.
WHILE DRIVING ON A FLAT STRAIGHT ROAD AROUND 35-45 MPH VEHICLE (ABOUT 80K MILES) LOST ALL POWER AND STEERING. WAS LUCKY TO GET ON THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH. ALL OTHER RECALLS AND REPAIRS ARE UP TO DATE. *TR
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET AT SPEED OF 25-30MPH IN A STRAIGHT FORWARD DIRECTION. TIRE/TRACTION SYMBOL FLASHED ON, THEN VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. THERE WAS NO LIGHTING, ACCELERATING, BRAKING, OR STEERING CONTROL. VEHICLE SLOWED TO STOP. REMOVED KEY FROM IGNITION...RE-INSERTED KEY AND RE-STARTED IGNITION. VEHICLE THEN DROVE NORMALLY.

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON SUBURBAN STREET AT SPEED OF 40-45MPH IN A STRAIGHT FORWARD DIRECTION. TIRE/TRACTION SYMBOL FLASHED ON, THEN VEHICLE MOMENTARILY LOST POWER. ALL LIGHTS FLASHED OFF, THEN CAME BACK ON. ACCELERATION CUT OUT, THEN RESUMED (FOOT WAS STILL ON PEDAL). STEERING TEMPORARILY LOCKED UP, THEN THE STEERING WHEEL RELEASED SO I COULD STEER AGAIN.
THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE. IT QUIT ON THE ROAD 4 TIMES. ALWAYS IN THE 20-30 MPH RANGE. THE STABILIZER LIGHT GOES ON, THEN POWER STEERING FAILS, BREAKS DO NOT RESPOND. HAVE TO PULL OUT KEY AND RESTART. IT HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS. MECHANICS HAVE NO IDEA AND SAY DIAGNOSTIC CHECK OUT FINE. WHAT DO YOU DO! I TRY 4 KIDS AROUND IN THIS THING!
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE DIED. TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL. PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF ROAD. I HAD NO POWER, NO EMERGENCY LIGHTS. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES I STARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE SAME PROBLEM PERSISTED AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ANALYZED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE HOME. SINCE THE PROBLEM CONTINUED I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE MORE TIME AND THEY STILL WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE LAST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP CALLED THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION WAS GIVEN THE SAME STORY. I RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET TO ATTEMPT TO FIND OUT IF OTHER OWNERS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS, THERE WERE SEVERAL REPORTED BUT THEIR...
WHILE IN MOTION MY CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHILE IN PARK SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT START RIGHT AWAY BUT EVERYTHING ELSE TURNS ON.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY CUT POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO DRIVE I SLOWLY COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IN DRIVE AGAIN BUT STILL THE GAS PETAL WAS NOT HAVING ANY EFFECT. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART TO GET GOING AGAIN. THE VAN IS NEW TO US AND HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE THREE DAYS WE'VE OWNED IT. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS IT IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND I CAN EASILY SEE HOW THIS UNEXPECTED EVENT COULD CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION.
THE FOLLOWING HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE LAST OCCURRENCE WAS 4/12/19. ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES ONCE I START DRIVING, THE BRAKES LOCK UP, THE WHEEL LOCKS, THE VAN STALLS, AND THE ORANGE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON. I TURN THE CAR OFF, PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN RESTART IT. AFTER RESTARTING, IT DRIVES OK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 15 TIMES SINCE NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS. ON 4/18/19, THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. CODES FOUND WERE P1790 AND C121C. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND HE SAID IF THE PROBLEM REOCCURS THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE IS FAULTY. THE FIRST MECHANIC ALSO MADE SOME REPAIRS. I'VE SPENT OVER $1000 TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THERE'S OVER 800 ISSUES ON THIS WEBSITE OF THIS ISSUE. WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO GET AN INVESTIGATION OPENED?
FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW THE VAN WILL SOMETIMES NOT START, EVEN IF STARTING IT BACK UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER JUST DRIVING IT. IT HAS DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING WITH NO STEERING CAPABILITIES, IT HESITATES WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES HAD PROBLEM FIXED JUST TO COMPLETELY DIED AGAIN SAME ISSUES. THIS VAN HAS COST ME ALOT IN REPAIRS AND RENTALS AN TOWS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE WITH MY KIDS KNOWING IT CAN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING WITH OUT WARNING AT ANYTIME .
SHUTS DOWN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AND LOSES POWER STEERING, DIFFICULT TO STOP. OCCURS IN ANY CONDITION OR SPEED. SOMETIMES TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON RIGHT BEFOREHAND. INABILITY TO CONTROL VEHICLE AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. HAS OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AND WHEN TURNING. HAS OCCURRED AT LOW SPEED AND HIGH SPEED. HAS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. I JUST CHOSE ONE DATE BUT IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE NEAR MISSES OF CRASHING OR BEING HIT WHILE VEHICLE.

NOTICED SO MANY SIMILIAR CASE REPORTED THROUGH THE WEB PAGES, HOPE CHRYSLER TREAT THIS SERIOUSLY. THE DEALER DID NOT PERFORM THE L25 RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH, LOOKS LIKE MY CAR IS NOT QUALIFY, I WILL DOUBLE CHECK AGAIN. MILAGE READING IS 96069
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IN TOWN IT HAS NOW (3RD TIME) RANDOMLY SHUT OFF. IT HAS HAPPEN WHILE GOING ANYWHERE FROM 10-40 MPH. THE TRACTION LIGHT FLASHES FOR A QUICK SECOND AND THEN YOU LOSE ALL POWER. THIS INCLUDES THE BREAKS AND STEERING. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START THE CAR BACK UP AND IT HAS RUN FINE. IT HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT RECENTLY AND IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AS WE HAVE AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT TWICE WITH OTHER CARS AROUND US ALMOST HITTING US. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS I HAVE READ OVER 200 DIFFERENT REPORTS ON VARIOUS SITES. WE TOOK TO A DEALER AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET A CODE TO PIN POINT WHAT IS WRONG. TOOK CAR TO MY MECHANIC WAS TOLD WIN MODULE, TOWED CAR TO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND PAID DIAGNOSTIC FEE AFTER BEING TOLD THAT RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED, ONLY TO BE TOLD BY DEALER THAT FUEL PUMP BAD AND BATTERY NEEDS TO BE CHARGED. I AM DOUBTING THE FUEL PUMP WOULD CAUSE CAR TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND COULD HAVE BEEN POTENTIALLY FATAL AS I HAD MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND WAS SECONDS AWAY FROM HEADING OVER A BIG BRIDGE.

A WEEK LATER IT SHUTDOWN AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THEM AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM THEY GAVE IT BACK SAID DRIVE UNTIL SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON. I DID THAT. THEY SAID THE CODES THAT WERE READ DID NOT CAUSE THE ISSUE. THEY KEPT THE VAN AND GOT GET TO SHUTDOWN ON THEM. NOW THEY SAID THAT IT "MIGHT" BE THE TIPM BOX FOR $1200. REPLACE THE BOX ON A MIGHT. THE SERVICE REP RECOMMENDED THAT I DID NOT GET IT FIX BECAUSE THEY ARE UNSURE THAT THIS IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. HE RECOMMENDED THAT I TRADE IT IN AND BUY A CAR. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATE OFFICE. ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER THAT IS UNAVAILABLE UNTIL...

IT'S DIED ON MY 4 TIMES...
FIRST PROBLEM THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING WHICH APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THE OTHER MAJOR ISSUE WHICH IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE VAN RUNS GREAT UNTIL IT DOESN'T THEN THERE SEEMS TO BE NO DEFINITE FIX. IT STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN MY VAN WOULDN'T START. WE HAVE TAKEN TO MULTI OK E MECHANICS AND HAVE ALSO HAD IT TESTED WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FROM AUTO STORES. WE HAVE REPLACED THREE BATTERIES, TWO STARTERS, THE ALTERNATOR AND STILL SOMETHING IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. I CAN'T EVEN COUNT THE TIMES I HAVE BEEN TOLD WELL MAYBE IT'S THIS OR THAT AND WE FIX IT ONLY TO DRIVE IT AND FIND MYSELF AND KIDS STRANDED SOMEWHERE BECAUSE IT WON'T START AGAIN. MY FAMILY PURCHASED A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY IN NOVEMBER 2014. THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO DRIVE NORMALLY UNTIL SOMETIME AT THE BEGINNING OF 2015 (I CAN ALWAYS GET EXACT DATES OF SERVICE) WHEN IT BEGAN TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE STALLING TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS ' LESS THAN 35 MPH. IT HAS STALLED ONCE IN A 40 MPH ZONE, BUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT IT HAPPENS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 25 MPH OR LESS. AS THE VEHICLE STALLS, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHES AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THE CAR BECOMES UNMANAGEABLE, AND THE ONLY OPTION FOR THE DRIVER IS TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OVER, COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND RESTART. ESP WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE FOR REPAIR MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT STILL COMES ON.
VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING, TYPICALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PROPEL FORWARD FROM A STOP, BUT HAS ALSO OCCURRED MORE RARELY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHTS COME ON, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ARE AFFECTED AS WELL. VEHICLE MUST BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. HAPPENED FREQUENTLY PRIOR TO THE RECALL FIX, STOPPED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, AND HAS NOW RESUMED WORSE THAN EVER. I BOUGHT MY 2010 TOWN AND COUNTRY IN JUNE 2015 SINCE HAVING IT THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 4 OR 5 TIMES WHERE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE STREET GOING AROUND 20-30 MILES AN HR WHEN MY ESP LIGHT WILL COME ON AND MY BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP AND THE VEHICLE STALLS UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL COMES ON FOR NO REASON. WHEN DRIVING NORMALLY UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. IT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. THE CAR THEN LOSSES POWER STEERING, NO POWER AT ACCELERATOR, AND BRAKES ARE ENGAGED. A BASIC LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. YOU HAVE TO TRY TO PULL OVER SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND THEN RESTART. THIS RESETS AND YOU CAN DRIVE NORMALLY. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENS. HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. EXPERIENCED POWER STEERING FAILURE (FEELING WAS COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING) IN FOLLOWING CONDITION.
