While driving my child to school a short while ago today, my car accelerated on its own and would not brake. I was attempting to stop for an upcoming red light. The car accelerated without me pressing the gas and the brakes went completely out. I was able to avoid a collision. This lasted for under 1 minute, then suddenly the car decelerated and I was then able to brake.
1. Engine oil cooler assembly started leaking, due to oil cooler housing plastic cracked from oil changes at dealership. Leaking engine oil almost destroying engine due to lack of engine oil lubrication leaking on to the ground from the rear of vehicle and on to the ground. Vehicle was taken to the dealership and verified that the component has failed and that Chrylser has known of this issue for sometime. 2. I have replaced the bad blend door actuators multiple times on each side of the dashboard, due to the unbearable clicking noise within the dashboard and not letting the ventilation systems change directions in the vehicle.
I have had the vehicle towed 6 times, the vehicle goes completely dead, with new battery, once the vehicle sits for a half a day there is no power to start the car. I have talked to several other people and have had similar problems. I had car towed to Chrysler dealer ship and they said they did not want to work on it? There should be a recall, I have had many Chrysler vehicles but never this type of problem with the electrical. If you park my car on Friday when I get off work, by Monday morning it is completely dead. I have had the vehicle to two local car repair and electrical shops to no avail. CAN C BUS: its a typical issue with the 2011 Chrysler 300. The main code for the CAN C Bus "U000200" after the scan tool, the issues found are ABS Can C Bus off performance: BCM (Body Controller Module) Can C Bus off performance, SCCM (Steering Column Control Module) Can C Bus off performance, Radio Frequency Can C Bus off performance. All affect the safety and driveabilty of the car. The car drives and in the midst of driving the car stalls in traffic, the car vibrates really bad, the car seems to lose power on acceleration. Please take a look into this, as this is a common issue with the Chrysler 300.
THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND PARKING BRAKE LIGHT WILL ALL SIMULTANEOUSLY AND RANDOMLY ILLUMINATE AND DISAPPEAR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PHYSICAL ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE OR CONTROL OF THE CAR. I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL BACK IN 2012 FOR THIS POSSIBLE SITUATION BUT I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS THE SAME OR IF MY VEHICLE WAS EVER RECALLED. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE VERY SPORADIC. WHILE STATIONARY AND DRIVING. SOMETIMES I WILL TURN THE CAR ON AND IT WILL BE THERE. SOMETIMES IT WON'T. IT HAS HAPPENED OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. I LIVE WHERE IT SNOWS AND ONLY DRIVE THIS CAR IN THE WARM WEATHER MONTHS SO I HAVE YET TO LOOK INTO IT.

THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE CHECKED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
ALTERNATOR FAILED ALSO DESTROYED THE BATTERY. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY, THEN JUST STOPPED AND SMELLED OF BURNT WIRING. HAD TO BE TOWED. CAR WAS REPAIRED BY MCNEILL CHEVROLET / BUICK, SWANTON OHIO AT A COST OF $918.32 OUT OF MY POCKET. I HAVE INVOICE. AFTER THE FACT, RECEIVED A RECALL FROM CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS. # 17V-435, MANUFACTURER RECALL T36. AFTER MANY CALLS THEY STILL HAVE NOT REIMBURSED ME 1 CENT FOR THE REPAIRS.

MY CAR STOPPED ON ME, HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND WAS TOLD MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT,. WHEN HE WENT TO LOOK UP MY PART IT SHOWED IT BEING RECALLED, SO HE CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD MY PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ETA ON IT. SO THEY FOUND THE PART AND COULD DO THE REPAIR, BUT SUGGESTED I CALL CHRYSLER AGAIN TO SEE WHAT MY OPTIONS WERE BEFORE THEY DID THE WORK. SO CALLED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I PAY FOR A TOW AND HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THEM, THEY COULD DO A TEMPORARY REPAIR, WHICH I WOULD ALSO HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL, BUT I STILL WOULD HAVE TO BRING MY CAR BACK WHEN THE ACTUAL PART COMES. I WAS A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT OF A RENTAL VEHICHLE AND I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A SIGN WHEN THE DRIVER SEEMED TO HAVE SOME MEDICAL EPISODE IT WAS A PUSH START IGNITION SO WITH THE FOOT ON THE GAS THE DRIVER SEND US STRAIGHT TOWARDS A BRICK WALL AND I WAS TRYING TO LOCATE AN EMERGENCY BRAKE TURN OFF THE CAR OR STEER THE CAR OUT OF DANGER BECAUSE OF THE TIMING AND THE LACK OF SAFETY FEATURES ACCESSIBLE TO ME AS A RESULT OF THE CAR INGENUITY I SUFFERED MULTIPLE LEG FRACTURES AFTER BEING DRUG ALONG A 45 FOOT DISTANCE NEARLY SEVERING MY LEG FROM MY BODY AND A 20 HR SURGERY COMPLETE WITH SCREWS AND PLATES LACERATIONS FROM AIRBAG AND SEATBELT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL WHINING NOISE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ABNORMAL ODOR DURING THE FAILURE. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HWY 29 N (THE FOUR LANE) THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND THE BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL AND CAR STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND ALL THE ELECTRONICS WERE GONE. I COULD NOT PUT ON MY EMERGENCY BLINKERS OR GET THE CAR IN GEAR TO PUSH OFF THE HIGHWAY. CHRYSLER HAS A SAFETY RECALL (P60) FOR AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE THE ALTERNATOR TO FAIL CAUSING SUDDEN SHUTDOWN OF THE VEHICLE AND/OR FIRE. THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY STATES THE 160AMP ALTERNATOR IS AFFECTED, HOWEVER MANY DRIVERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 180AMP ALTERNATORS IN THE SAME AFFECTED VEHICLES. ON JUNE 2 2011, MY CAR SHUTDOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY STREET. I THEN NOTICED A BURNING SMELL, AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION IT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE LOCATION OF THE SMELL WAS ALSO CONFIRMED BY THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS BUT WAS GIVEN NO ASSISTANCE. THE COST TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE EXCEEDS $1000. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I'VE NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A WEIRD WHINING NOISE WHEN I WOULD CRANK IT IN THE MORNING. SO TODAY WHILE CRANKING MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT IT WAS HESITANT TO START THEN I RECEIVED A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD STATING "BATTERY SAVER MODE". I THEN NOTICED THE WHINING NOISE GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER AND THEN I STARTED TO SMELL A BURNING SMELL THAT WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. I NOTICED THAT CHRYSLER ISSUED AN ALTERNATOR RECALL FOR 3.6L VEHICLES ONLY AND I FEEL THAT ONE SHOULD BE ISSUED TO COVER THOSE WHO HAVE THE 5.7L VEHICLES. I'VE NOTICED THAT SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO FIX IT.

WE HAVE OPENED A NEW CASE WITH CHRYSLER ASKING TO HAVE IT PERFORMED AT A TRUSTED REPAIR SHOP IN METUCHEN AND RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT. THEY HAVE SENT US THE AUTHORIZATION. I BOUGHT MY CHRYSLER 300 NEW IN 2011. AROUND SEPTEMBER 2013, I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE ALTERNATOR. THE "BATTERY SAVE MODE" LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THEN SHORTLY AFTER THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR THEN STARTED TO LOOSE POWER, THEN EVENTUALLY STOP RUNNING.
