OIL CONSUMPTION.6 MONTHS AGO CALLED ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET 1160 MOTOR LANE, LANCASTER,CA ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION. I NOTICED NO OIL WAS VISIBLE ON THE ENGINE OIL DIP STICK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED MAKE SURE TO FILL IT UP AND WATCH IT NO NEED TO BRING IT IN AT THIS TIME. ON MARCH 15, 2017 THE VEHICLE POPPED AN ENGINE CODE FOR BOTH KNOCK SENSORS AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SENSORS. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT THAT EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING MORNING. AFTER MAKING THE APPOINTMENT I CHECKED THE ENGINE OIL AND NO OIL WAS PRESENT AT THAT TIME AGAIN. I ADDED 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL TO MAKE THE DRIVE TO DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. I ALSO RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE BY DOING AN OIL CHANGE AND FOUND METAL FLAKES IN THE OIL FILTER.
