TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FAILED TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY BECAME LODGED IN THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE VEHICLE SPORADICALLY TURN OFF AND ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE TECHNICIAN REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAD A RECALL ON MY SWITCH WHICH WAS FIXED BUT IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING AS IT DID BEFORE IT WAS FIXED BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE SENSOR (SPELLING ) IN THE IT THAT KEEPS IT FROM NOT CONNECTING TO LET IT KNOW TO TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY OFF . I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A COST TO ME TO HAVE IT FIXED . WELL I DON'T FEEL IT SHOULD BE UP TO ME TO PAY FOR IT AND I FEEL IT IS STILL A SAFETY MATTER IN THE CAR . I THINK IT SHOULD OF BEEN PART OF THE RECALL TO FIX IT ALL SO THAT NO ONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUR OF THEIR OR MY POCKET TO FIX IT . SATURN ION IGNITION SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE & MY CAR STILL DOES THE KEY STICKS, DOORS WON'T UNLOCK BUT NOW AFTER DEALER DID WORK THE AIR BAGS OFF AND MISFIRE #3 CYLINDER & SHIFTER LOOSE & SHIFTER HANDLE JIGGLES OUT OF PLACE. TIMELINE: MAY 7 2014 ORDERED IGNITION SWITCH MARK CHRISTOPHER CHEVROLET MAY 18 KEY STUCK IGNITION DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK - FINALLY ABLE PULL KEY OUT BUT CAR WAS STILL RUNNING WITHOUT KEY TOWED TO MCC CAR NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, MAY 19 4:35PM RECEIVED CALL FROM SERVICE MANAGER STATING CAR IS THERE & PART STILL BACK ORDERED. FROM MAY 19 2014 UNTIL JULY 27 THEY HAD MY CAR. BUT JUNE 4TH STOPPED BY DEALERSHIP AFTER RECEIVING A PARKING TICKET ON MY PLATE #. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME MY CAR WAS NEVER TOWED TO THEM. . FOLLOWING DAY THEY CALLED SAID IT WAS THERE. I KEPT CALLING FOR UPDATES...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN ION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A CURB AND CAUSED A BLOW OUT TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND RECEIVED A NEW IGNITION SWITCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY 2007 SATURN ION IN MARCH 2014. THE RECALL NOTICE IS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH, IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER AND IGNITION KEY. I CALL MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE REPAIRING CARS AS THE PARTS CAME IN AND I WAS PUT ON A LIST. THEY TOLD ME THE PARTS SHOULD BE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL. I CALLED 2 WEEKS LATER AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL HADN'T RECEIVED THE PARTS TO FIX THE RECALL AND IN APRIL 2014 I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FROM GM TO HAVE THE REPAIRS TO MY CAR. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE PARTS AND THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE THEM. WEEKS LATER I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO HAVE SOME WORK DONE ON MY CAR AND I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY TOLD ME IT...
THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED. THE CAR WAS RUNNING. WE HAD TO CALL A LOCKSMITH TO GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND REPAIR THE IGNITION SWITCH. I TOOK THE PROPER PAPER WORK TO JOHNNY LONDOFF CHEVROLET IN FLORISSANTT, MO. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE PAPER WORK TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRED IGNITION SWITCH. THE RECALL LETTER INDICATES THAT THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE REIMBURSED BY DEALER/GM. THE GM HOTLINE WAS NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE PAPER WORK AND DID NOT PROVIDE A LETTER INDICATING WHY THE REPAIRS WOULD BE DISALLOWED. THE COST FOR THE REPAIRS WAS 375.00. I LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS (THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES BETWEEN MID-NOVEMBER AND EARLY DECEMBER) I WAS BARELY ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD, SHUT IT DOWN AND RESTART IT - AT WHICH TIME THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. IT WOULD THEN GO OUT AGAIN AS NOTED AND THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ON. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOME WATER DAMAGE AS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS RIGHT AFTER A CAR WASH SO I FIGURED IT WOULD DRY OUT AND BE ALL RIGHT. IT SEEMED THAT WAY UNTIL IT RECURRED AGAIN. I THEN BROUGHT IT IN TO WALLACE CHEVROLET IN STUART FL FOR REPAIR. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THIS REPAIR WAS AT NO CHARGE. MY CAR IS 7 YEARS OLD BUT THE POWER STEERING MOTOR CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AT N/C PART 19257875. IT APPEARS THE...
WE PURCHASED A 2007 SATURN ION ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND WHEN MY 16 YEAR OLD (NEW DRIVER) DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCKED UP AND SHE COULD NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF. FORTUNATELY SHE WAS AT A FRIENDS HOUSE AND I WAS ABLE TO HELP HER SHUT THE CAR OFF. IT COST $434.83 TO HAVE A GM DEALER REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAVE THE OLD PART IN MY POSSESSION.
