The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the fuel tank frame bracket had detached, and the fuel tank was hanging loose. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics, who determined that the frame rail bracket and fuel tank straps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance because the vehicle was imported from Canada. The contact was advised to contact a customs broker for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE TWICE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE DRIVER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED WHIPLASH, SEVERAL BRUISES, AND A HEAD CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SENT A THIRD PARTY COMPANY TO EVALUATE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
WINDSHIELD GLARE REFLECTION FROM DASH COMPROMISES VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING IN SUNLIGHT. SUNLIGHT REFLECTS OFF DASH CAUSING GLARE IN WINDSHIELD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING AND GRINDING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, A LARGE HOLE DEVELOPED ON THE FLOORBOARD OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BUSHINGS HAD FRACTURED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,025. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
