This complaint concerns a 2016 Nissan Rogue purchased from a used-vehicle dealership and involves safety-related defects present at or shortly after sale, raising concerns regarding inspection adequacy, disclosure accuracy, and systemic sales practices. Within days of purchase, the vehicle exhibited active water intrusion through the moonroof, interior ceiling stains, mold spotting, and moisture exposure to electronic components. These conditions indicate prolonged or pre-existing water intrusion rather than post-sale wear. Service personnel later advised that the vehicle showed indicators consistent with prior water or flood-related damage. The vehicle also demonstrated multiple mechanical and electrical malfunctions affecting safety and drivability. Subsequent inspection determined that handling and pulling issues were not caused by wheel alignment, but by worn sway bar frame bushings and cracked CV axle boots on both sides, indicating suspension and drivetrain deterioration. Noise initially attributed to rear brake issues was later identified as wheel bearing failure after prior evaluations misdiagnosed...
I noticed my back wheel making a rubbing sound. When I stopped vehicle I noticed the back tire was leaning. Thought it was wheel bearing. Had it replaced and tire still was leaning. After closer inspection the suspension trailing control arms had rusted into causing tire to lean. It was on rear driver side. After inspection the rear passenger was also rusted and the metal was split. My concern is that this has happened to more vehicles like this and tire has broken off causing or could cause injury. I would have not thought a major part of an automobile would rust this quickly.
1) While the car is in a gear OTHER than park, the key is able to be fully and completely removed from the ignition. 2) SIGNIFICANT rollaway risk and in direct violation of § 571.114 Standard No. 114; Theft protection and rollaway prevention. 49 CFR 571.114. Specifically subsection 5 (S5) 3) No 4) NO 5) No issues noticed, no warnings, lights, or other indications.
My 2016 Nissan Rogue shakes terribly when it goes over 60 mph. This has been happening for over a year. I have twice taken it to garages for repair, most recently this week. They replaced the axels but this did nothing and they told me they have been reviewing Nissan service bulletins. They said they know the year of my car has had numerous transmission issues. So as of now, I can't drive my car at a speed over 60 mph. I don't feel safe driving it but don't want to shell out more money for speculative solutions that probably won't work and will just cost me more money.
The left rear suspension arm has failed. This part supports the left rear tire and wheel assembly and its failure cause the left rear tire and wheel to tilt to about a 45 degree angle. The car was able to be safely stopped, although control was severely effected. Continued driving would likely have caused the tire and wheel to separate from the vehicle. See attached photo. It appears as if the rear suspension arm welds have broken and or the part has failed due to corrosion. It is a 2016 vehicle with only 105,000 miles. See attached photos. The last photo shows the right rear suspension link, undamaged, to illustrate the extent of degradation on the left side. The Girard Nissan dealership in Groton, CT informed me they have seen a number of cars with this problem, but there has been no recall. The provided a verbal order of magnitude...
In September 2023, my 2016 Nissan started vibrating with noise. It was not shortly after that a warning appeared on the console. The warning, "Chassis Control System Error" caused research as the vehicle worsened. As I was driving, a warning of the brakes shutting down appeared. I returned home in time, and parked the vehicle. The truck was then sent to the mechanic where I was told that the transmission failed. The CVT failed at 83,000 miles. The vehicle is currently at a Nissan dealership service department, while I'm in the process of litigation with Nissan North America, Inc. Nissan offered just $1500.00 towards an estimated $6000 CVT repair bill. This problem is an extension of the 2022 Class Action Lawsuit that needs to be re-established. Nissan manufactured the vehicles with the knowledge of the defective CVT and did not make the consumers aware of the defect. Nissan dealerships also...
transmission failure suddenly while driving with no check engine or warning lights.
VIN : [XXX] Phone number : [XXX] Name: [XXX] EMAIL ADDRESS: [XXX] Incident: I have made a report earlier regarding my Nissan Rogue 2016 , the VIN is mentioned earlier. It’s been a safety issue driving the car as it becomes very hard to control ( LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL) , Loss of electrical features such as USB PORT , bad noise from the speakers when playing songs as there is a water drainage from the panorama roof ! The car been reported to Abbotsford Nissan local dealership, spoke with Nissan also about the issue and no action was taken … as I’m a nurse , today I was driving to work , the car started to act weird while I was driving caused me to lose control while driving and there tire did hit the side of the road.. causing it to be more misaligned. It's been reported to...
At 135,000 miles, this car should not have transmission failure. The Constant Variable Transmission is defective and should be eligible for recall.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle would shudder while driving 60 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, no issues were found. The failure reoccurred while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel was shaking whenever he depressed the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an unknown repair was completed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10.
There is a safety recall on my vehicle. It could possibly catch fire.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY AT LOW SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF MCKINNEY (3800 S CENTRAL EXPY, MCKINNEY, TX 75069) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT SPRINGS STOPPER AND BALL JOINTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 51,748. *BF
THE 2016 ROGUE SL AWD MAKES A POPPING NOISE WHEN MAKING SHARPER TURNS IN EITHER DIRECTION SUCH AS WHEN PULLING INTO OR OUT OF PARKING SPACES. IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN BACKING OUT AND CUTTING THE WHEEL. THE CAR IS LOW MILEAGE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS TYPE OF ISSUE.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO (2018) MY CAR STARTED OCCASIONALLY LOSING POWER AFTER I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AFTER DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE UNTIL ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER. IF I KEEP DRIVING WHILE THIS HAPPENS, EVENTUALLY THE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40 MPH, THE RPMS WILL GO UP TO 4K-5K AND THE ENGINE WILL REV WITHOUT GAINING SPEED. IT WILL THEN START LURCHING FORWARD AND JERKING BACK AND FORTH. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT IF I STOP AND THEN RESTART MY CAR, THE ISSUE SUBSIDES. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE HAS STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. I WOULD ESTIMATE DRIVING THE CAR FOR AN HOUR, IT WILL HAPPEN 7-8 TIMES (WHEN TURNING THE CAR OFF, THEN ON AGAIN). IT MAKES DRIVING DANGEROUS WHEN I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE...
I HAVE A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE, I HAVE TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE STRUTS REPLACED 6 TIMES AND IS AN ON GOING ISSUE AND I HAVE GOT IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT MY CAR WAS NOT THE ONLY ROGUE DOING THIS. THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER I GOT THE CAN SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER 2016 AND MUSKOGEE NISSAN REPLACED THE STRUTS AND I LEFT AND WANT A BLOCK AND IT WAS STILL POPPING AND TUNED AROUND AND THEY LOOKED OVER AND I ENDED UP HAVING TO ORDER AND REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY. FEBRUARY 2018 FRONT LEFT SIDE MAKING POPPING NOISE OVER BUMPS AND RUBBING NOISE WHILE TURNING TOOK IN TO SUPERIOR OF FAYETTEVILLE AR. MILES 25999 THEY REPLACED THE STRUTS ON THE LEFT SIDE. JULY 5,2018 TOOK...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS REVERSING THE VEHICLE IN AND OUT OF THE GARAGE, A POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD UNDERNEATH THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FENTON NISSAN OF KNOXVILLE (4515 CLINTON HWY, KNOXVILLE, TN 37912, 865-687-6111), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE SOUND. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000. *TT
I KEPT HEARING A LOUD CLICKING OR POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT TO MANEUVER IN AND OUT OF PARKING SPACES. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD IT WAS A BENT PIECE OF METAL BY A ROTOR. I DROVE THE CAR FROM THE DEALER STILL HEARING THE POPPING NOISE. I CALLED NISSAN USA AND GOT A CASE NUMBER. THE NOISE GOT LOUDER SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON 12/16/17. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. MILES ON THE CAR ARE APPROXIMATELY 24,000 AND COVERED UNDER THE 36,000-MILE WARRANTY. I AM GLAD THE CAR IS FIXED BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT A $35,000 VEHICLE IS REQUIRING SUCH MAJOR WORK WHEN ONLY A YEAR AND A HALF OLD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE MADE A KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION STRUT MOUNT, BEARING, AND BOTH SIDE COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,796.
WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING AND BEGINS TO TURN VEHICLE MAKES CLACKING / KNOCKING NOISE. THE SERVICE CENTER MANAGER TOLD ME THAT MY CAR IS THE SECOND WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE SALES PERSON TOLD ME THAT MORE THAN 35 ( MADE IN KOREA) SOLD BY HIM ( OR IN THAT DEALER) HAVE THE SAME SITUATION. UNTIL NOW NISSAN DOES'NT HAVE A SOLUTION...!!! THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED SINCE THE FIRST DAY ...8 MILES...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROUGE. THE CONTACT HEARD ABNORMAL NOISES FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE MAKING TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE SUSPENSION. THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.

A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY BRAND NEW 2016 ROGUE, I NOTICED A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHEN I AM BACKING UP SLOWLY AND TURNING MY WHEELS. I POINTED THIS OUT TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY DETERMINED IT WAS MY STRUTS AND BEARINGS THAT NEEDED REPLACED. I THEN TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION AND THEY SAID THEY CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY ARE NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEREFORE, I CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY NEW ROGUE WITH A NOISE IN THE FRONT AND NISSAN HAS NO ANSWERS AT THIS TIME.
