The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the front passenger's seat light was on. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V716000 (Seats); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side seat made an abnormal sound and inadvertently moved while making a turn. The contact stated that she weighed 130 pounds and that the front driver's seat frame had previously been replaced due to a fracture; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front driver's side seat frame was tightened; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that the front driver's side seat frame was fractured and needed to be replaced for the second time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
For the past year, the front driver seat will jolt slightly forward upon braking, and jolt/click back upon accelerating. I began to notice it when I would start the car and start driving, because the seat would move back ever so slightly, even though the seat hadn’t been moved prior as I am the only one who drives the vehicle. And then upon braking, the seat would move slightly forward. It is a very unsettling feeling because it does not feel like the seat is secure and if an accident were to occur with enough force, it feels like the seat will come off the rails completely. The car has automatic, cloth seats on driver’s side. When the car is at rest, and you are sitting in the driver seat, if you move your body, forward and back, the seat feels unsteady and moves (it never moves up or down...
Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 SV until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to Bill Seidle’s Nissan in Miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings....
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the front driver’s side seat moved forward independently. The contact attempted to adjust the seat however, the seat failed to remain in place. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the weld of the seat had fractured and needed to be re-welded. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under recall. The failure mileage was 92,000.
The front seat wiring is too short so anytime the seat is pushed back it triggers the airbag light and turns off all the airbags. I called Nissan about it and they stated since I don’t have an active recall (even though there is a recall on this same issue) that they will not pay to have it fixed.
At seemingly random times the 2016 Nissan Rogue SUV will jerk or shudder while in motion. I would normally travel at a consistent speed but this issue causes sudden jerking/shuddering. I believe it involves the transmission. This creates a significant safety hazard to myself and others while on the road. If my car suddenly stops or significantly slows down while on the freeway it could cause a crash. Additionally when I turn corners I will periodically hear and feel a creak in the front driver's seat. It legitimately feels like the seat is not properly secured and that I would slide out of position given enough force.
DRIVER SEAT MOVES WHEN BRAKING.
WHEN IN GEAR (DRIVE, REVERSE, LOW) THE CAR WILL VIBRATE CONSTANTLY AS WELL AS AT A STOP NOT JUST WHILE DRIVING. THE SEATS ARE CONSTANTLY MOVING (VIBRATING, CREAKING WHILE TURNING) WHEN SPEEDING UP IT HESITATES TO SHIFT OR SHIFTS ROUGH.
I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN FOR A YEAR AND LOVE IT. HOWEVER WHENEVER I SLOW DOWN TO STOP, OR TAKE OFF, I HAVE NOTICED MY DRIVER SEAT WILL GLIDE FORWARD AND SOMETIMES CLICK OR CLUNK, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST BECAUSE I AM A MORE HEAVIER GUY. I STARTED READING MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE NISSIAN WERE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. IT HAS BEEN HAPPING ON AND OFF SINCE ABOUT MARCH 2020 WHEN I STARTED TO REALLY REALIZE IT.
ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT, WHEN SEAT WARMER IS ON BOTH LOW OR HIGH SETTING, RIGHT SIDE OF SEAT GETS EXTREMELY HOT. IT HAS BURNED ME SEVERAL TIMES AND NOW MY HUSBAND WAS BURNED WHEN DRIVING THE CAR FOR 10 MIN. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT TURNS ON WHEN PASSENGER IS SEATED AND THE LIGHT TURNS OFF WHEN SEAT IS EMPTY. THIS SEEMS LIKE A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE AIRBAG WILL NOT GO ACTIVATE WHEN SOMEONE IS SEATED.
WHEN BRAKING ONE CAN FEEL THE DRIVERS SEAT LIFT FORWARD AS IF IT ISN'T BOLTED ON CORRECTLY. IF ONE WERE TO GET IN A COLLISION IT FEELS LIKE IF THE SEAT WOULD JUST FLY OFF. IT'S FELT THIS WAY SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE.
MY SEAT BELT WILL NOT COME OUT TO SECURELY BUCKLE IN MY PASSENGERS. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SEAT FRAMEWORK WHICH IS PINCHING THE SEATBELT.
THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR THE 2016 NISSAN ROGUE NOTES THE ABILITY TO INSTALL CAR SEATS IN BOTH THE OUTBOARD AND CENTER SEATING POSITIONS OF THE SECOND ROW OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE THERE ARE NO LATCH HOOKS FOR THE CENTER POSITION, THERE IS A CEILING-MOUNTED HOOK AND DIRECTIONS IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR USE OF LAP BELTS TO SECURE A SEAT IN THE CENTER POSITION (SECTION 1-43). NISSAN, HOWEVER, HAS A SEPARATE RELEASE FOR ALL OF THEIR VEHICLES CALLED "SNUG KIDS' AND DENOTES WHICH CAR RESTRAINTS, CALLED CRSS, FUNCTION PROPERLY IN THEIR VEHICLES. FOR THE 2014-2017 NISSAN ROGUE, THE SNUG KIDS DOCUMENTATION FROM NISSAN SPECIFICALLY NOTES: "IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 2ND ROW INSTALLATION: WE DO NOT RECOMMEND INSTALLING ANY CRS IN THE CENTER SEATING POSITION." THIS CONTRADICTS CAR SEAT INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS FOUND IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. I LEASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE NEED TO PUT THREE CARS SEATS, OR CRSS, INTO MY...
FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG DISABLED LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY TURNS ON, INDICATING AIR BAG IS DISABLED, WHILE THAT SEAT IS OCCUPIED. THIS OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION, AND AT ANY ARBITRARY TIME OR SPEED. THERE IS A SIMILAR RECALL ON THIS, BUT EVIDENTLY THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED, AS IT IS LISTED AS NO RECALLS.
BRAND NEW 2016 ROGUE PURCHASED 12/29/2016 AFTER HAVING FOR 24 HOURS IT BECAME OBVIOUS THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AS WELL AS THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS. THIS OCCURS IMMEDIATELY AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE OR PARK AS WELL AS WHEN DRIVING. IT IS NOT A STRONG SHAKING BUT A CONSTANT VIBRATION AND AFTER DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BEGINS TO IRRITATE MY HANDS. THE DEALER AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT IS NORMAL AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
I HAVE A 3 SEATER, DURING A REAR END COLLISION, THE MIDDLE SEAT SWUNG BACK AND LOCKED WITH THE 3RD SEAT. WHEN THE SEAT LOCKS THERE IS NO SPACE BETWEEN THE SEATS; IF SOME IS SITTING IN THE BACK THE LEGS WILL BE CRUSH DURING A COLLISION. MY 5 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WAS SEATING IN HER CAR SEAT AND BY A BLESSING OF GOD, SHE WAS ABLE TO RAISE HER LEGS BECAUSE THEY ARE SHORT. THE MIDDLE SEAT IS NOT PROPERLY LOCKED.
