My 2009 Nissan Murano had a bad battery and starter, after replaced them the ABS/VDC/Slip control light were illuminated and ABS function lost. I searched online and found a lot of the Murano owners had the same issue by just replacing a battery then got these DTCs. At the end we found Nissan know this issue and issue a TSB for repair with customer's expense. They know this is factory issue but not recall it or even not notify their customer, it's safety issue and still need the customer to search it and repair with the customer's money (to pay their faults). TSB: NTB10-113a
When driving at a slow speed and applying full brakes, the car rather than stopping quickly took more time to stop and thus resulted in an accident - collided with the car in front. There was a recall for this car in 2019 for exactly this problem - R1814. Apparently, the fix the dealer has performed didn’t alleviate the problem. I sincerely request you to perform a thorough assessment of the recommended fix for this recall to safeguard others from this serious safety issue. Also, if possible, I request you to arrange for assessment of my vehicle to confirm if my ABS concerns are true which I truly believe they’re.
While trying to make a turn in a busy intersection, the car stall and loses power it goes into a limp mode. The car slowly limps out of traffic to the side. Note VDC off and 2 red - neg sign brake light is on. Turn the ignition off for a few minutes. Turn ignition back on and no problem. The car starts up no problem. I had the brakes check out and no issues. I took to Nissan dealership . They said it is the alternator. I had new alternator put in 6 months ago. Took back to the company who put the alternator on He said it is working. They said this car notorious for the CVT transmission issues. This problem has happen twice in traffic. This is not safe.... I am afraid to drive this car.
Brake pedal now goes to floor before brakes engage. This occurred after stopping suddenly. Mechanic changed master cylinder and bled system but no change. No warning lamps on dashboard.
The brake pedal gets really stiff, hard to depress and the brakes gradually engage until they almost stop the vehicle. All the brakes get extremely hot when this occurs.

MY VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT ON 01/04/2021 RECALL ADVISORY STATED "YOUR VEHICLE HAS ONE OR MORE RECALLS". I FOLLOWED ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY NC VALVE.
TOOK IN MY VEHICLE THIS MORNING TO GET 4 RECALLS FIXED, AND DEALERSHIP STATED THEY COULD ONLY FIX ONE OF THE 4 ISSUES. SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE STATED THE ISSUES FOR THE MODEL OF THE SUV WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE VIN NUMBER, THEREFORE THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T ASSIST WITH ALL 4 ISSUES. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD OF THE SUV ARE ON AND ALL PERTAIN TO THE 4 ISSUES NOT INCLUDED IN THE VIN. HOW CAN I GET THESE INCLUDED IN THE VIN NUMBER SO THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIX THE ISSUES? BRAKE SYSTEM BRAKES LOCKED ALL 4. WHEN I DRIVE IT SOUNDED LIKE RATTLING ONCE I MADE IT HOME BACKED UP IT JERKED THEN CALL A MECHANIC AND HE SAID BRAKES ARE LOCKED DNT DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I HIT THE GAS TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. IT TOOK ABOUT 20 SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD GO AND WHEN IT DID IT ACTED LIKE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL WHICH I DID NOT. IT HAS DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES. I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TWICE. NOTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES DUE THE FACT THAT THE CAR STALLS.
NISSAN PREFORMED WORK ON THIS VEHICLE FOR RECALL # RECALL 18V916000. A YEAR LATER THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM OCCURRED AND NISSAN SAYS WE ARE NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BILL BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX RECALLS ONCE

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE INSPECTOR THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUBJECTED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN VIRGINIA BEACH (3757 BONNEY RD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452) AND REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
THERE WAS A STABILIZER THAT WAS NOT CONNECTED ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE. FOUND OUT WHEN I WAS IN THE MECHANICS. AS FOR THE BRAKES THEY HAVE WORN DOWN QUICKLY AND HAD PROBLEMS. INCLUDING A DRIVER SIDE REAR LINE. THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN TIRES ARE BALANCED.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR WHEN TRYING TO STOP.
WOULD LOSE BRAKE PRESSURE GOING OVER A MANHOLE COVER/ANY UNEVEN SURFACE WHILE BRAKING, GENERALLY BRAKING TO A STOP. THIS WOULD HAPPEN PERIODICALLY FOR ABOUT A YEAR (2016-2017). ON 9/3/2017 I WAS BRAKING FOR A RED LIGHT, WENT OVER A MANHOLE COVER AND LOST ALL BRAKE PRESSURE. VEHICLE WOULD STOP BUT YOU WOULD NEED TO PRESS THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE ABS CONTROL UNIT WAS INOPERABLE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE UNIT 9/14/17. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER (28309423) BUT WAS NEVER CONTACTED. I AM REPORTING THIS NOW AS MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT RECALL AND I FEEL IT SHOULD BE.

THE DEALER FLUSHED THE BRAKE FLUID, BUT DID NOT REPLACE THE HCU. THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A VALVE ISSUE REGARDING THE ABS, WHICH WAS A MECHANICAL DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A FRIGID NIGHT AND SHE FELT THAT SHE NEEDED TO PUMP THE BRAKE UNTIL IT HITS THE FLOOR TO STOP, NEXT DAY AS SHE WAS DRIVING FROM OUR GARAGE IT JUST SLID OFF THE SLOPED DRIVEWAY. I NEEDED TO DRIVE HER TO WORK IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED BECAUSE THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE SPONGINESS OF THE BRAKE MIGHT GO AWAY IF I HAVE A NEW BRAKE PAD. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT IT WAS IF NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE BRAKES IT WAS STILLSPONGY.

I ONLY KNEW BECAUSE I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC FOR BRAKING ISSUES ON 08.20.2019 WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE.

AFTER TWO DAYS OF WAITING THEY DID NOTHING SO DECIDED TO PICK IT UP & TO BRING IT TO OTHER NISSAN DEALER SERVICE. BEFORE PICKING MY VEHICLE UP THEY INFORMED ME THAT DEEP BRAKE & LONGER BRAKING TIME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ABS, VEHICLES ABS HAS NO ISSUE & DOES NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THAT IT IS THE BRAKE PADS & THE CALIPERS WHICH WAS RECEIVING CHECKED BY MY TRUSTED MECHANIC. BUT KEOPPEL NISSAN SERVICE DID NOT PROVIDE ME ANY WRITTEN PROOFS THAT ABS OR THE RECALL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY VEHICLES BRAKING ISSUE. NOW I AM BACK TO SQUARE ONE, WILL BRING...

NISSAN IS NOT COMPLYING WITH RECALL. OCTOBER 23, 2018 THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO FOR THE ABS ACTUATOR, BRAKE FLUID AND LINES. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD TEST THE ACTUATOR AND CHANGE THE BRAKE FLUID AND LINES. AT THIS TIME MY CAR PASSED THE ACTUATOR TEST SO THE NISSAN SERVICE FACILITY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE FIXING THE ACTUATOR. HOWEVER, ON MAY 21, 2019 I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE MY ABS AND SLIP LIGHTS CAME ON IN MY CAR. THE NISSAN SERVICE FACILITY INFORMED ME THAT MY ACTUATOR NOW NEEDS REPAIR, BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE EXPENSE SAYING THAT THEY "ALREADY COMPLETED THE RECALL". IS THIS HOW A RECALL WORKS? I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THIS SAME PART 6 MONTHS LATER. IF I WOULD HAVE WAITED AND HAD MY CAR TESTED TODAY I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED A NEW ACTUATOR....

FUTURE NISSAN OF FOLSOM (12610 AUTO MALL CIR, FOLSOM, CA 95630, (877) 635-4447) FLUSHED THE BRAKE FLUID, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SIDE IMPACT COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. POLICE REPORTS WERE NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
WE WERE DRIVING ALONG 2 DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING RIGHT. WE HAD TO PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WAS STILL BARELY STOPPING. IT WAS LIKE A VERY SLOW BREAKING PROCESS AND CAME CLOSE TO HITTING THE ONES IN FRONT AT A STOP LIGHT. BOTH TIMES WE NOTICED IT WAS WHEN WE WERE COMING TO A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. EVENTUALLY THE BRAKES START TO WORK AGAIN. BUT WE DID NOTICE THAT WHEN THE CAR WAS STOPPED AND TURNED OFF AFTER THESE EVENTS, THE PEDAL WAS VERY LOOSE WHILE OFF.
SENT NISSAN A CERTIFIED LETTER DATED 2-20-19 CONCERNING NHTSA RECALL 18V-916 WITH ALL APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION. THE LETTER AND DOCUMENTATION WERE CERTIFIED MAIL AND I RECEIVED RECEIPT BACK FROM NISSAN. THEY HAD 30 DAYS TO RESPOND AND THEY DID NOT. SENT E MAIL TO NISSAN IN FRANKLIN TN.ON 3-18-2019. A EMAIL WAS SENT OUT TO ME ON 3-19-19 REQUESTING I SEND DOCUMENTATION. THEY ARE MAKING THIS AS HARD AS POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE .. HOW ABOUT SOME HELP FROM NHTSA *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED THE ABS INDICATOR WAS ON FOR COUPLE OF DAYS.*JB
BRAKES FAILED DUE TO ABS ACTUATOR FAILURE WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR BRAKE FLUID CHANGE AND ABS ACTUATOR TEST. ABS ACTUATOR FAILED 4 MONTHS AFTER FLUID CHANGE. NISSAN REFUSED TO MAKE REPAIRS. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $2400. THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHICH NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE.
TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS I'VE HAD WITH MY MURANO ARE THE BRAKES LOOSING PRESSURE CAUSING ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO BRAKE IN TIME, CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON A ROUNDABOUT. THE SECOND IS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK COLUMN GOING OUT, CAUSING MY NOT TO BE ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT. IN JANUARY MY BRAKES WENT SOFT WHEN THE ABS KICKED IN DURING AN EMERGENCY BRAKING SITUATION. I REPORTED THAT ISSUE THEN. AT THAT TIME NISSAN WAS IN DENIAL MODE ABOUT THIS SITUATION. WORKING WITH NISSAN AND A LOCAL DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY "REPROGRAMMED" MY ABS. I WAS CHARGED $75 AND SENT ON MY WAY. EARLIER THIS WEEK, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING AND HIT A PATCH OF ICE. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SPUN OFF, THEN BACK ON THE ROAD CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO BRAKE HARD, AND BECAUSE OF THE ICE, THE ABS KICKED IN. MY BRAKES WERE THEN SOFT (REQUIRED GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP) UNTIL I REACHED A PLACE TO STOP AND COULD PUMP THEM BACK UP. THIS TIME THERE IS A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR THE ISSUE SO I TOOK IT BACK IN...
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WE BRAKE, PEDAL GOES ALMOST TO FLOOR. NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED ABS ACTUATOR IS DEFECTIVE. THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN 09 MURANOS, BUT DEALER TELLS US OURS IS NOT IN RECALL AND WILL COST US 2600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE WAS DRIVING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND TRAVELED INTO AN INTERSECTION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THE ABS SYSTEM ON MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO DOES NOT WORK, IT LED TO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN MURANO 2009-2015 MODELS. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT A CAR COMPANY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS AND THEN TAKE THE STANCE THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE.
WHEN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT ON A LOCAL ROAD, MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN BUT DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL PROVIDED NO RESISTANCE AND THEREFORE WAS APPLIED TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, MY CAR PASSED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 10MPH. UPON IMMEDIATE INSPECTION BY A TECHNICIAN, THE BRAKE FLUID WAS FLUSHED AND REPLACED WITH DOT 4 FLUID. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE BRAKE PEDAL LACKED RESISTANCE, WAS APPLIED TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR, AND THE CAR DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP UNTIL IT WAS TURNED OFF WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 10MPH. UNDER A NISSAN BRAKE FLUID SERVICE CAMPAIGN, THE BRAKE FLUID WAS ONCE AGAIN FLUSHED, REPLACED WITH DOT 4 FLUID, AND ABS WAS INSPECTED. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE SINCE THE INSPECTION PASSED AND STATES...
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE BRAKE PEDDLE BECAME SOFT. THE BREAK PEDDLE HAS TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAD A MECHANIC INSTALL NEW PADS AND ROTORS ON BOTH AXLES. AS WELL, HE TRIED TO BLEED THE BRAKES. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY WITH NO WARNING AS IF IT IS BEING CONTROLLED BY ANOTHER POWER SOURCE. HAD BATTERY CHECKED AND ALTERNATOR REPLACED TWICE. ALSO, HAD A DIAGNOSIS TEST PERFORMED MULTIPLE TIMES. IT YIELDS NO PROBLEMS. THE BATTERY/BRAKE LIGHT MAY COME ON PRIOR TO SHUT DOWN. IF IT DOES, THREE SECONDS LATER VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY DEAD. USUALLY THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION - JUST DRIVING ON A ROADWAY. ONCE SHUT DOWN, YOU CANNOT MOVE THE VEHICLE AND HAS TO BE TOWED.
BRAKE PEDAL IS VERY LOW ALL THE TIME JUST BOUGHT CAR LAST WEEK. BRAKES ARE NOT VERY SAFE
AFTER HAVING SOFT BRAKE ISSUE, HAD CAR CHECKED AND PUT ON NEW FRONT BRAKES. NO CHANGE. WAS INFORMED BY NISSAN OF MY ABS ACTUATOR INVOLVING MASTER CYLINDER. I CARRY GRAND CHILDREN IN MY VEHICLE ALL THE TIME. WAS WARNED NOT TO TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES WITH THIS ISSUE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THIS ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF ON MY OWN AND HEARD ABOUT THE FEDERAL INVESTIGATION REGARDING 2009 NISSAN MURANO'S INTO THIS MATTER BY THE NHTSA. I AM A GRANDMOTHER EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
BRAKE FAILURE WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. BRAKE PEDAL TO FLOORBOARD WITH NO BRAKING ACTION. SLOW RECOVERY WITH GENTLE PUMPING OF BRAKE.
MY 2099 NISSAN MURANO HAS 67,000 MILES, 2 DAYS AGO WHILE TRAVELING HOME FROM A LOCAL STORE IN THE RAIN TRYING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. THE CAR WENT INTO THE INTERSECTION, THANKFULLY NO OTHER CARS WERE COMING. BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUES TO GO TO THE FLOOR, CAR DOESNOT STOPS UNTIL STANDING ON THE PEDAL PUSHING IT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC, HE DRAINED THE BRAKE LINES TO GET RID OF ANY AIR AND PUT IN NEW BRAKE FLUID. DID NOT HELP. HE THEN TOLD ME TO LOOK AT THE COMPLAINTS AND OPEN INVESTIGATION ABOUT THE MANY 2009 MURANO HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND ALL THE MONEY OWNERS HAVE SPENT TO TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO GOOD RESULTS.
