After picking up the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe from the dealership for repairs to the rotors and struts and bearings, the Wrangler was running roughly. Before I was halfway home, I called the dealer back to explain the engine was running roughly, wasn't able to get over 40mph, and was acting as if it was going to stall or lose power. I stated I needed to bring it back because I wasn't going to be able to drive it like this. Before I got halfway back to the dealership, the Wrangler lost power and was making a noise as if it was going to blow up. I was barely able to get it off the side of the road and narrowly missed a rearend collision from the vehicle behind me. I was on a dark, heavily traveled two lane road during evening work traffic hours. Dealership did send a...

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact stated that the vehicle was sluggish and was shaking abnormally. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with battery failure. The contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that an unknown recall repair was performed two years prior, including the replacement of the battery. In addition, the contact stated that in November 2024, the vehicle was taken to the dealer because the battery was not charging. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed twice; however, the cases were closed. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

On [XXX], I was in Fort Lauderdale, FL for vacation with my 2 friends. I was driving for about 20-30 minutes on the road, got on the highway and noticed a rubber smell. I got off the highway. I still noticed the smell did not go away. So I opened the windows & turned off the AC. Then I saw white smoke coming from the vents and smoke coming from the right side of the hood, in front of the passenger side. I proceeded to pull over and parked the car. We exit the car & saw smoke/flames coming from the right passenger side & underneath the car. I called 911. There were no warnings or indications on my dashboard that something was wrong. I got my car serviced a month prior to this fire at a certified Jeep dealership. My car was deemed a total loss by my insurance....

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Rubicon. My vehicle has been recalled three times for updates. I have had one recall done for the defroster due to the faulty software that can cause reduced visibility increasing a risk of a crash. The second one was for risk of fire from a faulty high voltage battery driving or parked. The third recall call was to update software for the high voltage battery in which doing so caused my vehicle not to fully charge and to lose power when driving and not be able to start for hours at a time. I now have brought my vehicle back to the Jeep service center for a diagnostic test and it was found that the high voltage battery pack is faulty in which Jeep has said they will put a new battery in once approved from Chrysler. Jeep has not been able to...

I have attempted to contact Jeep multiple times. All my communications, except for one, have been ignored. Please, see attached communications. Way too many recalls, including the last one where the vehicle can catch on fire.

The jeep was taken to the dealership under a software battery recall and the software was updated. One week later while driving at approximately 55mph, there was a sudden jerk in the propulsion system. the car shifted abruptly from electric to gas motor and the electric mode was unavailable. The vehicle jerked and hesitated at every acceleration and deceleration causing unsafe operating conditions . The check engine light was on I returned it to the dealer immediately and was told that the high voltage hybrid battery was bad. I'm pretty convinced from my and other experiences that the software up date was not a remedy to previous incidents reported to you. It was a software patch that determined if the battery was bad.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The voltage meter increased excessively. The vehicle was started, and the contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking space. The contact turned the vehicle off. The contact allowed the vehicle to remain turned off for a while. The vehicle was started, and a service battery message was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed battery pack. The contact was informed that the battery pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The repair was performed under the recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 24E080000 (Electrical System). The failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and the battery was charging, the contact noticed the front fan was running extremely hard. The contact disconnected the battery charger. The contact inspected...

While cruising control is engaged, turning the steering wheel 5-10 degrees to the right will result in disruption of the cruise control and displaying a message "cruise control cancelled." This results in an abrupt deceleration during a turn that is unexpected and can create a safety hazard. Additionally, the illumination of steering wheel switches flickers with 5 degrees of right turn. This appears to be consistent with the findings of recall 15B, but my VIN is not included in the recall.

When I was driving I smelled something electrical burning and my eyes starting burning on my way in to work. On my way home, the same thing happened however I noticed smoke coming from my steering wheel. I shut my heated steering wheel off. I took it to the dealership the following day and they told me my wiring melted in the steering wheel and also stated they are surprised it did not catch on fire. They said i need to replace the entire steering wheel. I have 37,000 miles on my vehicle. Ironically 1000 miles past the warranty. They have no explanation for why this happened however I was told this is a common thing, as many others have had this happen.

Our vehicle experiences loss of motive power as well as a complete disconnect from the battery. All diagnostics have shown that physical battery connections are good. We have been left on the side of the road with the inability to drive the vehicle above 20 mph. It is extremely dangerous when moving through an intersection or driving on the highway. We get a sudden warning lamp of a battery, charging cable, and turtle. They appeared 4 days after the purchase of the vehicle.

The instrument panel is not working at all, it is totally black. I can not see speed, gas amount, any emergency lights, i can not tell if my lights are on bright or dim, if my turn signal is on or anything. I have already been stranded on the side of a busy highway at night because of this. I have to use my phone to see speed which leads to me being distracted from the road to see how fast i am driving. There has been a recall but for some reason does not include my VIN # even tho it is the same issue of the recall. I don't want to pay for a new instrument panel if that is not the issue. Evidently mopar knows what the issue is because it recalled 30000 vehicles for this issue.

Loss of power when the Jeep was in hybrid mode (Both electric and gasoline engine). This was due to Battery not able to regulate the internal temperature (confirmed by the dealer).
#11635661 |
The engine and cluster showed and made noises indicating that the hybrid system was malfunctioning. The cluster indicated a speed limit at high speeds, but never did so. The electric drivetrain was disconnected and the handling and power were severely affected. It was dangerous because the distracting and concerning issues were during a rapid speed and in dangerous conditions with no clear remedy. The check engine, red turtle, and battery lights indicated the problem, but not beforehand. There were some warranty fixes around the battery including recall work.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the high-voltage battery. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Per the dealer, power distribution center design flawed causing it to fail. Vehicle failed while driving in traffic creating an unsafe condition.

On occasion, when I put my vehicle in reverse the backup camera displays a black image in violation of the requirements of FMVSS 1111. There are no obstruction on the camera. This is available for inspection if necessary. I have taken it to the manufacturer but due to the intermittent nature they are not able to reproduce the event. I was not able to use the required safety feature to back out of a parking space into a busy street. I have a video of this display not activating correctly.

The vehicle’s check engine light come on earlier this year and the electric motor/battery was not functioning properly. It was serviced in September and I was told by the dealership that the software update would resolve the issue. It did not. The vehicle was serviced again on 12/13/24 and I was told that it passed the 95B recall test but that the check engine light came back on. The dealership said they ran more tests and now the electric cooling/heating unit needs to be replaced but they won’t have the part for approximately 2 weeks. The electric cooling/heating unit is for controlling climate within the vehicle and should not affect its propulsion. While driving the vehicle the day after I picked it up from the dealership, I was nearly involved in what would’ve been a serious accident. I was turning at an intersection, but the vehicle lost motor function and...

I was traveling on the [XXX] on Sunday [XXX] and while started smelling brakes and I got off at the service area and pressed on the brake pedal and the vehicle wouldn’t stop. I had no brake pedal and just heard a clicking sound. There were people everywhere and I didn’t want anyone to get hurt so I had no choice but to drive the vehicle towards a yellow pole which did stop the vehicle but I have been told after the car was towed to a shop that there is an error code B22A9 and believe it was caused by some ecu failure of some sort. The vehicle is in really bad shape and airbags also didn’t deploy. I would like this to be investigated as I would not feel safe in this vehicle if it’s repaired and returned to service. It is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and...

The electric motor system does not engage on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug In Hybrid. When you press the accelerator pedal after a stop (e.g. at an intersection or to make a left turn), the Jeep electrical motor does not engage. The Jeep may drift into the intersection or oncoming traffic without motive force. After a period of time, the gas engine will engage. I estimate the delay to be about 30 seconds. I often depress the accelerator multiple times before the gas engine engages. This is extremely dangerous as the vehicle drifts into an intersection, and could potentially be hit by oncoming traffic. The vehicle shows an engine light identified as a voltage inconsistency in the main battery. It appears the entire electrical motive system is shut down, but the computer is still calling on it to operate. When it does not operate, the gas engine will start, but...

I was driving on [XXX] in San Diego going 75 mph and I received a number of alerts and flashing and audible sounds. When I looked at the dash it had an alert that said performance unstable pull over place vehicle in park. I immediately lost power to the accelerator and the car started to slow so I pulled over on the shoulder. Luckily, I was in the right hand side lane in the carpool section, and there was a shoulder. If there had been no shoulder, I would’ve been stuck in traffic in the lane. The car would not restart and I had to have it towed from [XXX]. Backup camera not working (intermittent). There are times when the backup camera just gives a black screen. This is a safety issue as we can't then see what person or thing may be behind us. This can cause great damage or injury to ourselves and others. The dealership looked at the issue twice, but could not get it to malfunction, and so had no idea how to repair it.

I purchased my Jeep March 14th 2024 I purchased my Jeep as a buy back that had already been fixed. I purchased an additional 6000 warranty to be double protected. I received a letter from FCA on 10.18.2024 stating the 95B recall letting me know my vehicle can catch on fire at anytime. They also have no fix for this issue. I want them to buy back my jeep due to this extremely dangerous recall and they refuse. I cannot begin to explain how unsafe I feel on a daily basis. This has given me extreme anxiety that I now have to take daily medication for. I think it’s criminal that they will not buy back my jeep! There has to be a class action lawsuit if not I’ll hire my own attorney. This is beyond criminal.

Jeep/Stellantis needs more oversight over their 4XE "Battery Separator" problems. November 22, 2023 (Recall B9A) - Battery Separator Fires September 28, 2024 (Recall 95A/B) - Battery Separator Fires Clearly Stellantis has known about this exact issue for around a year, and likely significantly longer in the lead-up to issuing the original B9A recall. How many cars need to catch fire? How many people should risk injury? How much loss-of use is acceptable for those not able to charge their EVs? Clearly Stellantis is simply struggling to find a way to reduce their liability, by narrowing down the affected vehicles. However after 12-18 months, enough is enough.

My 20214XE Hybrid from the day I bought it was often saying "electric not available" There was a potential fire recall last winter that took four months to remedy, during that time we were told not to charge it, park in our garage, park near our home/structures or park by other cars. I purchase a hybrid that I'm not able to use as a hybrid. Finally, got the repair in the spring. Literally, two months later, it starts doing all kinds of dangerous things. I would come to a stop or be in the middle of a turn and would have no power whatsoever, gas pedal to the floor and going nowhere and then would lunge forward. Took to the dealer, computer said CRITICAL hybrid battery overheating, the original repair clearly didn't work. Eventually, it was approved for hybrid battery being replaced. All was well until 2 weeks ago when...

Vehicle stops at low speed and will not move. When placed in park it will not shift back into drive. Hybrid charge lights flashing and several warning lights display on the dash. The dealer is waiting on parts that Jeep says are back ordered indefinitely. Dealership say keep driving it. Jeep is looking for the parts but have not addressed the significant safety risk of shutting down in the roadway and unable to move. I have to shut the vehicle down in the roadway and wait to restart the vehicle to clear the issue. It will not even allow me to pull the emergency transmission release when this condition occurs to move the vehicle out of the roadway.

My instrument cluster went blank while I was driving on several occasions and I felt very unsafe and had to pull over to safety. Once I shut the vehicle off and restarted it the cluster returned to normal condition but then it happened again. I took it to the Jeep service center and they told me there was no recall 30B on my vehicle. Now what should I do?

On October 17th. The vehicle exhibited serious electrical issues when I attempted to start it in my school parking lot. Upon pressing the start button, the car would not start, and all electrical items began malfunctioning. The lights inside and outside the vehicle were flashing, the windshield wipers activated on their own, the horn was beeping intermittently, and the car was emitting alarming noises. The situation escalated when the tow truck driver arrived. He was unable to start the vehicle. Instead, the engine produced a loud revving sound, as if it were about to blow up. This experience was not only frustrating but also alarming, considering the potential safety risks. The dealership said they will get to it as soon as they can, but are 7-10 days booked.

My instrument panel is not working, it went completely black, then it flashed on and off while driving, now it is completely black again. I can't see how fast i am going can't tell how much gas i have in the tank, and all the warning lights won't work, this caused me to run out of gas on the side of the highway and have to have someone being gas and put in the tank risking getting hit, not to mention it is just unsafe for the instrument panel to not work

I would like to express a concern with how Jeep is handing the issue with the hybrid batteries in the Wrangler 4XE. I'm connected with the 4XE across the US and Canada and I am seeing issues with how they are addressing the potential for fires in the batteries. In my case, my Jeep was initially part of the B9A recall but was removed from the list. I was on the 04B recall list and had that update performed. A few months later, my battery triggered the P0BBD code that indicated that I needed a new battery. We have seen this trend in the 4XE community where someone who wasn't on the B9A list ended up having a battery issue. Some of these instances include Jeeps that were on the 04B list but had yet to receive that update because Jeep communicated that it was a "defrost" recall without telling...

I saw in the news on 9/30/24 that my 2021 Jeep 4XE Wrangler was recalled due to a safety issue (Jeep could catch fire). No information was available that day indicating whether my Jeep was included in the recall. I called my local Jeep dealer and they had no information. I waited for more information to be released on 10/1/24 and saw nothing. I chose to park my Jeep outside and not charge because of what I had heard in the news. I called Mopar on 10/2/24 and was told that the VIN numbers had not been released for the recall but would be released on 10/3/24. I checked my VIN on that day and saw that my vehicle was included in the recall. I called my Jeep service center and was told that they don't have the parts for the recall and they may not be available for months....

Attempted to pull onto highway and lost propulsion. Dash lights lit up. The vehicle was powered off and upon starting it back up it multiple times it displayed the “service charging system” error. I was ability to limp home with limited propulsion and had the vehicle towed to the dealer on 8/8/2024. Dealer was great to work with and stated that the vehicle needed a new HV battery. The processing time for the part was 10-14 days after approval from Stellantis engineering. 8/29 still no vehicle, but was told that the part would arrive this week. 33k miles 2021 Wrangler Sahara 4xE
