Vehicle Information: Make: Jeep Model: Wrangler Model Year: 2007 VIN: [XXX] Safety Recall Information: NHTSA Campaign ID: 16V-290 Manufacturer Recall Number: S33 Component: Airbag / Clock Spring This recall was previously performed by a dealership in February 2021; however, the vehicle is now experiencing the same symptoms the recall was intended to address, indicating the safety defect has reoccurred or was not permanently remedied. The vehicle is currently experiencing: Illuminated airbag (SRS) warning light Horn failure Traction control / electronic stability program warning light Erratic or abnormal A/C behavior that coincides with the SRS/steering wheel electrical faults These failures are consistent with a defective clock spring and directly impact the Supplemental Restraint System and other active safety systems. I contacted an authorized Jeep dealership to request inspection and repair of this recurring safety defect. I have 5 recalls but have been told by the dealer that because my vehicle is a re-constructed title that recalls cannot be done. Is this true?
Delearship claims they repaired three recalls on vehicle... but they did not!!
There was not an incident, thankfully. However, I was billed for recalls to be complete, but they were not actually completed. I have attached the receipt showing where the service department claimed they completed the recalls but Jeep Corporate states the recalls have NOT been completed and are still open recalls. This service department has been dishonest about several other issues as well.
I called the dealership to see what do I need to do for my recall they told me to bring my car in. I brought my car in and they said that I need a appointment to bring it back on 7/25/2023. I brought it back on 7/25/23 and they kept it until 7/28/23 told be that they need to order parts. They have not contacted me. I would like to file a complaint All Star Dodge in Denham Springs, Louisiana 225-523-3652. Please let me know what I need to do. TOOK MY JEEP INTO A DEALERSHIP TO FIX MY AIRBAG. THEY FIXED IT AND IT WAS DOING FINE FOR ABOUT 2YEARS AND NOW TH AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS ON TURNING ON AND OFF I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON IT. SO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT. THANKS
I HAVE A CURRENT RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IN MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE AIRBAG IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATIONAL. EVERY 1-2 MINUTES WHILE DRIVE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND DING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT MAKES THE VEHICLE INCREDIBLY ANNOYING TO DRIVE. A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED THE ERROR CODES AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING RECALL AND I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO BE FIXED. MY AIRBAG LIGHT WONT TURN OFF NOR WILL MY ESP BAS LIGHT OR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT.
UNABLE TO GET VEHICLE IN FOR AIRBAG RECALL. AUTOMATION CHRYSLER JEEP JUST TRANSFERRED ME AROUND AND I GAVE UP. MEDVED IS MORE THAN 2 WEEKS OUT AND YOU HAVE TO LEAVE IT ALL DAY. WHAT IS THE POINT OF A SAFETY RECALL IF THE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT DO IT.
I HAVE BROUGHT AND CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT THE PART THEY NEED TO REPAIR THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING IN MY JEEP. THEY CONTINUALLY TELL ME THAT FIAT-CHRYSLER HAS NOT RELEASED THE PART. TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR THAT IF DEPLOYED COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. CALLED DEALER TO GET REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET FOR THAT RECALL. TEN MONTHS WENT BY WITH PARTS NOT AVAILABLE ALL THE WHILE PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
TAKADA RECALL. I RECENTLY HAD MY RECALLED DEFECTIVE TAKADA AIR BAG REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT ANTWERPEN JEEP IN CATONSVILLE MD. AFTER REPLACING THE AIR BAG, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON IN MY VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE LIGHT FOR $135.00. I REFUSED TO PAY THIS BECAUSE THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING UNDER WARRANTY AND I INFORMED THEM OF MY AIR BAG LIGHT PROBLEM THEN. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $200.00 AT THAT TIME TO DIAGNOSE THE SYSTEM THAT THEY HAD JUST WORKED ON. I NOW FEEL THAT I CANNOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP TO WORK MY VEHICLE FOR THESE SAFETY ISSUES. IN EARLY DECEMBER I WAS NOTIFIED THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE BUT NOW FOR ONLY ONE OF THE AIRBAGS AND THAT WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, AS TO THE 2ND AIRBAG, AGAIN THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THERE IS NO KNOWN DATE WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WENT BACK TO JEEP ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH. THE CLOCKSPRING ISSUE WAS TAKEN CARE OF, HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR OVER TWO MONTHS AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. IT IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO TRADE THEIR CAR FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT IT IS A DANGER TO MYSELF EVERY TIME I STEP INTO MY CAR. I NOW CAN NOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE TAKE ANOTHER PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME, WHICH IS CAUSING A DISTURBANCE TO MY LIFE AND MY WORK. BAD CLOCK SPRING. AIR BAG LIGHT AND RELATED CHIMES CONTINUE TO GO OFF. HAD SHOP CHECK CODES AND FOUND CLOCK SPRING BAD.
I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD MY CLOCKSPRING REPLACED TWICE PER CHRYSLER AND FOUGHT TO GET REIMBURSED. NOW, MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT FUNCTIONING WHICH PERTAINS TO THE CLOCKSPRING. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING IS COMPROMISED AND WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AS THE PREVIOUS TWO HAVE. A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT DETERMINES WHETHER OR NOT THE AIRBAG WILL DISCHARGE. IT IS A CONTINUING CONCERN.
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AT RANDOM, MY HORN NO LONGER WORKS. THE DEALER SAID THAT IT IS DUE TO A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY. I GOT THE RECALL INFORMATION STATING THAT THE CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY MAY BECOME CONTAMINATED, BUT MY VIN IS NOT ONE THAT IS OFFICIALLY RECALLED. I WOULD REALLY LIKE THIS FIXED AS IT IS A SHOW VEHICLE. CLOCK SPRING FAILURE. HORN WILL NOT HONK WHEN PRESSED AND AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF PERIODICALLY. OCCURS BOTH WHEN STATIONARY AND MOVING.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE TRIED CLEANING THE WIRING CONNECTORS UNDER THE FRONT SEAT BUT THIS HAS HAD NO EFFECT ON THE LIGHT GOING ON OR OFF. THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES AS IT IS SITTING STILL AS WELL AS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE FOUND THIS BEING AN ISSUE WHILE RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE IN EVERY FORUM THAT I HAVE SEARCHED IN. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY WHEN AND IF NEEDED. I HAVE KIDS THAT DRIVE AND RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE.
CLOCKSPRING FAILURE DISABLES HORN AND AIRBAGS
CLOCKSPRING RECALL. I OWN A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER V6 AUTOMATIC WITH 86000 MILES. AROUND APRIL 25TH 2015 I NOTICED THE AIRBAG DASH LIGHT WOULD LIGHT UP AND DING EVERY FEW MINUTES. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MODEL JEEP. I TOOK MY JEEP TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK FOR ITS REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED STATING THE CLOCKSPRING WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. I ASKED HIM IF THE JEEP WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECENT RECALL AND HE SAID HE "COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING ABOUT IT IN HIS SYSTEM". I EXPLAINED WHAT I HAD READ ONLINE ABOUT ALL THE COMPLAINTS AND TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CLOCKSPRING REPLACEMENT. HE TOLD ME THE ONLY WAY THE DEALERSHIP WOULD FIX IT WITHOUT CHARGING ME $700 IS IF I HAD PROOF OF THE RECALL. ASIDE FROM...
