VEHICLE HAS STALLED TWICE NOW. ONCE ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD AROUND A DANGER CURB AND ALSO ON A HIGHWAY. LUCKILY, BOTH TIMES WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT ALWAYS STARTS BACK UP BUT EXTREMELY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. BROUGHT TO JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM. ALSO, OIL LIGHT COMES ON REGULARLY NOW WITH LOW OIL. BURNING A LOT OF FUEL. I KNOW FOR A FACT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUES. THEY ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. MY WIFE HAS A RENEGADE AS WELL AND HER'S STALLED OUT ONCE. I FEEL LIKE JEEP IS NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING.
MY 2017JEEP RENEGADE BURNS OIL AND IT HAS EVER SINCE I GOT IT. WELL BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME TO GET AN OIL CHANGE, THE OIL RUNS SO LOW MY CAR WILL START DYING AND STALLING RANDOMLY AND THEN THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WILL COME ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR SERVICE TWICE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND BOTH TIMES THE PROBLEM WAS OVERLOOKED, I WAS GIVEN AN OIL CHANGE AND SENT ON MY WAY BEING TOLD IT'S "NORMAL" FOR MY 2017 VEHICLE TO BURN OIL. IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN THIS MORNING, SO I WAS FORCED TO ADD TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO GET TO WORK. I FEEL LIKE TAKING IT FOR SERVICING WILL DO ME NO GOOD, AS I AM NOT BEING HEARD. THIS IS NOT NORMAL, BUT NOBODY WITH JEEP IS LISTENING OR ACKNOWLEDGING THIS ISSUE.
CAR WILL STALL WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. HAVE TO SHUT DOWN AND PUT IN PARK. THEN WHEN TRY TO RE START THE ENGINE SOUNDS WIERD AND QUIET AND QPPEARS TO CRANK AND CRANK UNTIL IT FINALLY STARTS. THIS HAPPENS ALWAYS SHORTLY AFTER STARTING TO DRIVE. IT HAPPENED A FEW DAYS IN A ROW AND NO OCCASIONALLY FOR NO REASON. IT LEAVES ME STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. VERY DANGEROUS.*JB
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS YEAR, MAKE AND ENGINE HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE, WHILE HAVING THE SAME SHUT OFF PROBLEM FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. IT IS A DANGEROUS ONGOING PROBLEM.

BOUGHT A CAR ON NOVEMBER 1ST THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE IT IS LOW ON OIL NOW AND IT'S NOVEMBER 21 2019 CAR ONLY HAS 24465 MILES
ACCORDING TO THE DEALER I MUST CHECK MY OIL EVERY 1K MILES TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL. THIS IS ABOUT THE 3RD TIME MY CAR HAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. WHEN I CALL THE DEALER ALL THEY SAY IS DID YOU CHECK YOUR OIL. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON SUN, NOV 3, 2019. WHY ARE COMPANIES ALLOWED TO SELL PRODUCTS THEY ARE FULLY AWARE HAVE DEFECTS, TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE IT THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY.
THE 2.4 LT ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL AT AN ACCELERATED RATE. ABOUT 2.5 QTS EVERY 1000 MILES. AT TIMES THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING AND TURNING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND BEFORE THE FIRST SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE. THE DEAL IS RECOMMENDING REPLACING THE ENGINE AFTER 3-4 SERVICES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS US BRINGING THE CAR INTO FOR SERVICE TOPPING OFF THE OIL AND HAVING US REPORT BACK EVERY 1000 MILES.*DT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION AND STALLED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND "PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, PUSH START BUTTON TO START ENGINE" APPEARED ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. AFTER A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE, AFTER I TURNED, MY CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND A MESSAGE CAME UP TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR (IT WAS IN DRIVE). LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST AND PULL OVER. MY CAR KEEP TELLING ME TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR, SO I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN A MESSAGE CAME UP TO START MY CAR WITH THE KEY FOB. I TOUCHED THE KEY FOB TO THE IGNITION BUTTON AND IT STARTED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT THE REST OF THE DAY, BUT IT WASN'T SHIFTING PROPERLY. AS IT SHIFTED, IT WOULD JERK INTO GEAR. THAT WAS ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH. TODAY, OCTOBER 23RD, AFTER I TURNED MY CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. THE SAME THING HAPPENED MY CAR KEEP TELLING ME TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR, SO I PUT...
JEEP QUITS FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. NO DASH LIGHTS COME TO INDICATE A PROBLEM.CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE SCARED OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS
WAS ON A HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 67 MPH AND I FELT A LOSS OF POWER BUT STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. FROM THERE THE RENEGADE STARTED PUTTERING AND STALLING. HAD HALF A TANK OF GAS. ALMOST FELT LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS
WILL BE DRIVING AND VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ONCE IT SHUTS OFF YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE BACK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND EVEN IN INTERSECTIONS AND ON THE INTERSTATES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE 20 TIMES.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED LOSING POWER. THE DISPLAY READ "PUT CAR IN DESIRED DRIVE MODE" AND THEN CHANGED TO "LOW OIL PRESSURE". AT THIS POINT MY CAR WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I COULD SHIFT GEARS BUT IT DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I PRESSED THE START/STOP IGNITION TO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF MY CAR. IT HAD BEEN JUST OVER 2 MONTHS SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE SO I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS ODD THAT I HAD LOW OIL PRESSURE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. AFTER INSPECTING MY CAR THEY NOTICED THAT I HAD NO OIL IN MY CAR. THE MECHANIC THAT PULLED THE DIPSTICK SAID IT WAS...
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING. SLOWS DOWN AS THE GAS PEDDLE IS DEPRESSED THEN ABRUPTLY BEGINS TO SPEED BACK UP. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO JERKS SOMETIMES WHILE INCREASING OR DECREASING SPEED. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

WHEN I REACHED APPROX. 28K MILES, THE JEEP STARTED SEVERE HARD SHIFTING WITH A CLUNK & CAR JERK ANYTIME I WAS DRIVING IN SPEED RANGE OF 27-32 MPH. OVER NEXT 5 MOS. 10/2018'FEB/MAR 2019, I TOOK MY JEEP TO SAME DEALER PURCHASED/SERVICED 5 DIFFERENT TIMES. EACH TIME SAME COMPLAINT OF HARD SHIFT 27-32MPH. THIS SPORADICALLY HAPPENS WITH NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHEN ONLY THAT IT OCCURS DURING THAT SPEED RANGE. I COULD BE ACCELERATING OR COASTING IN TOWN TO DECELERATE AND WILL HAPPEN. I FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO JEEP CHRYSELR 1/2019 AFTER 3RD DEALER SERVICE VISIT NOT RESOLVED. DEALER EVERY TIME SAID ALL NORMAL, NO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND AFTER ONLY TWO YEARS THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. I ALWAYS DID THE OIL MAINTENANCE AS RECOMMENDED. I HAVE FOUND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THAT SAME YEAR HAVING THE SAME ENGINE ISSUES. THERE ARE 5 PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ON CAR COMPLAINTS.COM. I LOOKED THIS UP ON A JEEP RENEGADE FORUM AND IT APPEARS A BUNCH OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE ISSUE. 2018 VERSIONS OF THIS VEHICLE APPEAR TO HAVE A RECALL IN EFFECT FOR 2 DIFFERENT ISSUES THAT SOUND IDENTICAL TO WHAT IM EXPERIENCING. MY GUESS IS THAT THE CURRENT RECALLS SHOULD APPLY...
LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING, VEHICLE HAD BURNED UP 5QTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES 5000 MILES BARLEY ANY OIL ON DIPSTICK. CAR STALLED IN INTERSECTION AS DRIVER ACCELERATED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY AND HAD OIL CHANGES BEFORE SERVICE DATE AND PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
ENGINE COOLING FAN WAS REPLACED AT 50 THOUSAND MILES, CODES SHOW THAT THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING THE TRANSMISSION THREW CODES DEAD BATTERY. IT LOCKS UP AND DOESN'T WANT TO START EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY.THEIR WAS TWO DIFFERENT SENSORS THAT THREW A CODE. I'VE GOTTEN A MESSAGE TO SERVICE THE AIRBAGS.ON EVERYTHING I HAVE TOLD YOU THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL. EXCEPT ON THE TRANSMISSION, WHEN IT GOES FROM 3RD GEAR TO PASSING GEAR IT SHIFTS REALLY HARD. AND IT FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT. I MAINTAIN REGULAR OIL CHANGES .AVERAGE OF 1 PER MONTH. IT'S BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. AT 50 THOUSAND MILES IT STARTED HAVING A LOT OF LITTLE THINGS GO WRONG. I FEEL LIKE I BOUGHT A LEMON AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO ADMIT IT.
AIRBAG SERVICE IS ON AND DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE ENGINE IS USING UP A LOT OF OIL IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. 2000 MILES AFTER MY OIL CHANGE I DISCOVERED THAT MY ENGINE HAS NO OIL LEFT IN IT AND MY GAS IS BEING DEPLETED AT A VERY FAST RATE
COOLING FAN FAILURE. FUSE BLEW ON FAN AND LED TO RAPID SPIKE IN COOLANT TEMPERATURE. LED TO P0481 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE. REPLACED BLOWN FAN FUSE BUT FAN CYCLES ON AND OFF AND SEEMS TO BE WOBBLING OR HAVE BEARING PROBLEMS. BASED ON SEARCHES, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE JEEP RENEGADE BUT CHRYSLER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2017 YEARS.
LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FLASHED ON. CHECKED OIL WHEN GOT HOME AND IT WAS 2.5 QUARTS LOW. HAD THE OIL CHANGED 5,000 MILES AGO. IT ONLY HAS 16,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE SHOWED OVER A QUART LOW AS WELL.

TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN HIGH IN AUGUST AND THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS WHILE IN PARK, IN DRIVE, IN MOTION, AT RED LIGHTS, WHILE ACCELERATING, WHILE DECELERATING OR SIMPLY CRUISING AT STEADY RATE IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT HAS BEEN CONSISTENT FOR TWO TO THREE TANK FILLS OF GAS (MID AND PREMIUM GRADE). THE AIR FILTER WAS RECENTLY REPLACED AND LOOKS NORMAL. WE DISCOVERED THE RECALL MENTIONED ABOVE AND THE SYMPTOMS CERTAINLY SEEM SIMILAR.
I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IN MY VEHICLE TO OUR DEALERSHIP TWICE WITHIN 2 MONTHS ON THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR HAS BEEN SPUTTERING AT IDLE AND ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN THE CAR IS TRAVELING IN BETWEEN 25-30MPH THE TRANSMISSION GETS A HARD KICK, IT ALMOST FEELS AS IF YOU ARE GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, IGNITION COIL, SPARK PLUG WIRES, AND SPARK PLUGS. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 32,000 MILES AND IS MOSTLY DRIVEN IN TOWN, I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE OUT OF TOWN BECAUSE IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN TRAVELING AT 65MPH OR HIGHER.

THIS FIRST OCCURRED A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A TSB PRINTOUT RECOMMENDING I KEEP A QUART OF OIL ON HAND. SINCE THEN EVERY OIL CHANGE I HAVE BEEN LOW AND I'VE ADDED ABOUT ONE QUART PER THOUSAND MILES LIKE THE TSB INDICATES BUT IT IS STARTING TO CONSUME IT WORSE. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE I WAS TOLD THAT OIL CHANGES WERE SUBSTANTIALLY FURTHER APART AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LET ME KNOW WHEN TO DO SO, YET THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT I AM LOW OR OUT. EVERY TIME I TURN MY VEHICLE ON AND THE A/C UNIT IS ON MY CAR BEGINS TO MAKE A SQUEALING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M AT A STOP LIGHT OR IDLING AND I HAVE MY AIR CONDITIONER ON.
EXTREME OIL CONSUMPTION, WHICH CAN CAUSE THE OIL TO GO UNUSUALLY LOW, CAUSING STALLS AT SPEED. AFTER SOME ONLINE RESEARCHING, THIS APPEARS TO BE A LARGER ISSUE THAT JEEP HAS NOT YET ACKNOWLEDGED. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 4/20/19, AND I'VE GONE JUST ABOUT 3K MILES SINCE THEN. I STARTED STALLING WHILE DRIVING, AND CHECKED THE OIL, AND IT WAS PRETTY MUCH BONE DRY. 5.5 QUARTS OF OIL GONE IN 3 MONTHS/3K MILES (NOTE - THE JEEP RECOMMENDED INTERVAL IS: "BASED ON ENGINE OPERATION CONDITIONS, THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR MESSAGE WILL ILLUMINATE IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER", IN OTHER WORDS, THERE IS NO RECOMMENDED INTERVAL FOR NORMAL DRIVING, YOU ARE TO RELY ON THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR LIGHT TO ALERT YOU. FOR "SEVERE DUTY", I.E.: THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN A DUSTY AND OFF ROAD ENVIRONMENT OR IS OPERATED PREDOMINATELY AT IDLE OR ONLY VERY LOW ENGINE...
CHANGING GEARS IS SOMETIME NOT VERY SMOOTH. THE CAR SEEM TO JERK OR JUMP IN TO GEAR. IT DOES NOT DO THIS ALL THE TIME JUST OCCASSIONALLY.
WE HAVE OUR OIL CHANGED REGULARLY AT THE SAME PLACE AS SOON AS THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT COMES ON OR WE MEET THE MILEAGE LISTED ON THE LAST OIL CHANGE STICKER, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. WE HAD THE OIL CHANGED MAY 14, 2019 AND DROVE MAYBE 2500 MILES SINCE THAT DATE. LASTNIGHT MY HUSBAND AND KIDS WERE IN THE CAR SUDDENLY IT STALLED AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. THE UNIT THEN WAS FINE AND STARTED BACK UP WITH NO ISSUES, THEN THIS MORNING THE SAME THING. HE CALLED THE DEALER WE GOT IT AT AND THEY GOT IT IN RIGHT AWAY. SAID IT WAS SHOWING VERY LITTLE OIL, BUT NO VISIBLE LEAKS. IM SORRY I UNDERSTAND WANTING TO SAVE AN ENGINE BUT WHAT ABOUT LIVES IF IT STALLS AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. ALSO IF THE OIL IS THAT LOW, WHY DID THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT NOT COME ON....
VEHICLE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES IN TRAFFIC. "LOW OIL PRESSURE" WILL COME ON BRIEFLY AND THEN ENGINE FAILS. SOMETIMES WHILE TURNING IF VEHICLE DOES NOT COME TO COMPLETE STOP. VEHICLE IS BURNING THROUGH OIL ALL THOUGH NO LEAKS ARE DETECTED OR VISIBLE EVEN AFTER OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED.
FUEL PUMP MODULE: ISSUES ADDRESSED BY RECALL REMAIN UNRESOLVED. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THERE WAS A PART AVAILABLE, THEN HAD OUR APPOINTMENT CANCELLED BECAUSE THEY HAD RUN OUT. DRIVING THE CAR WITH THIS ISSUE IS DANGEROUS AS THE CAR TENDS TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY OR WHEN MAKING A TURN. WE HAVE BARELY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO STALLING, INCLUDING ONE WITH A SEMI-TRUCK. ENGINE: HARD IDLE WHEN COLD. ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY. POWER TRAIN: WHEN CAR IS ACCELERATED TO 30 MPH RANGE, IT "HICCUPS" OR JERKS WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THIS ISSUE NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT EVERY TIME WE ARE TOLD THAT THE "COMPUTER ISN'T PICKING ANYTHING UP" AND PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED.

SECOND BREAK DOWN EMERGENCY BREAK LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT RELEASE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND CHECK AIRBAGS CAME ON AGAIN. FOURTH BREAKDOWN WOULD NOT START HAD TO BE TOWED TURNS OUT BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FIFTH BREAKDOWN ENGINE STALLED HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR. SIXTH BREAKDOWN REMOTE START THE CAR DID NOT START UP AND THEN WOULD NOT START MANUALLY. SEVENTH BREAKDOWN ENGINE STALLED AGAIN HAD TO BE TOWED WOULD NOT START BACKUP. 8TH BREAKDOWN JEEP WAS SHIFTING REALLY HARD TOOK TO DELAERSHIP NOW HAS TO HAVE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THIS CAR...
WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO GET TO AN EXIT AND PULLED OVER SAFELY. CAR WOULD START BACK UP, BUT SPUTTER AND DIE. LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND DRIVE AWAY, 5 MINUTES LATER, CAR DIES AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM, SPUTTERING, NO POWER. CALLED JEEP AND WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON IN MY VEHICLE TWICE. WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON, THE VEHICLE JERKS WHEN APPLYING THE BREAKS. THE CAR HAS BEEN LOOKED AT TWICE BY THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID IN BOTH INSTANCES THAT THIS WAS THE RESULT OF A BAD IGNITION COIL. THE IGNITION COIL WAS REPLACED EACH TIME. THE ISSUE IS NOW PRESENTING ITSELF A THIRD TIME, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN MISSED IN THE RECENT RECALL FOR THE ENGINE ISSUES.
ON MAY 11TH MY JEEP RENEGADE WITH 19,637 MILES DIED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NEVER RESTARTED. AT THE TIME, THE REASON WAS UNKNOWN AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS; LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF A BUY ROAD. IT WAS TOWED 5 HOURS LATER(ROADSIDE ASSIST THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE SUCKED TOO) TO AUTOLAND (WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN AUGUST 2017) THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ALMOST A WEEK BEFORE THEY EVEN CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE CAR. ON MAY 17TH THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE AND WANTED PROOF OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE. I BROUGHT IN PROOF OF 3 OIL CHANGES AND A TIRE ROTATION. I ASKED WHY I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE AND THEY TOLD ME IT DIDNT HAVE ANY COMPRESSION; I ASKED WHY AND JUNIOR SAID "I DON'T KNOW" ON MAY 23...
SINCE APRIL OF 2019, MY JEEP RENEGADE HAS BEEN DYING WHILE MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN DRIVING IT. WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A FUEL PUMP RECALL, SO WE THOUGHT IT COULD BE RELATED TO THAT PROBLEM. WE DID INFORM OUR DEALER, JIM HAYES, INC., OF THE DYING ISSUE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK THE OIL AND LOOK INTO IT. WHEN I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON FRIDAY, MAY 31, I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD BEEN EXTREMELY LOW ON OIL, AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT IN EVERY 1000 MILES TO HAVE THEM CHECK TO SEE IF THE ENGINE WAS USING TOO MUCH OIL. THEY SAID THIS COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE DYING ISSUE AND THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER CHRYSLER/JEEP VEHICLES. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE DEALER FIXED THE FUEL PUMP RECALL...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT FAN WAS OFF CENTERED AND THE FUSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT FAN WAS CURRENTLY INOPERABLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,719.
LEFT A LOCAL DRIVE THRU AND JEEP BEGAN IDLING HARD. DROVE ON A BUSY ROADWAY AND LOST SPEED UNTIL CAR WAS AT 0MPH (WAS ORIGINALLY AT 45MPH) TURNED CAR OFF ON BUSY INTERSECTION AND TURNED BACK ON. CAR DROVE 1.5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND LOST SPEED AGAIN. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO GAS STATION AND HAVE CAR TOWED TO GREENWAY JEEP IN ORLANDO. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID COME ON.
