2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Steering Problems

Every time the vehicle proceeds over a speed bump or a dip in the road, it feels as if something is lose and banging in the steering and suspension of the vehicle. I have taken it to the dealer on numerous occasions, and they say they can never find anything wrong nor duplicate the issue. I’m concerned that at some point something may fail and I may lose control of the vehicle.

Multiple leaks found under the car and was brought in for emergency repair. One leak was the driveshaft, one was engine coolant and the other was the front steering column.

The electrical system per the on-dash guide shows a voltage of 13.8 V or less than the 14.2 V and when it is less than the 14.2 V the car drives choppy, braking causes the car to jolt around even after brake work. The radiator was recently replaced and new hoses were replaced and it still has not been remedied after new brakes and new serpentine belt. The dealer did not clean all remaining radiator fluid that spilled in the bottom of the car, as the radiator had not completely been malfunctioning prior to arrival at dealer. This has probably caused some corrosion due to faulty manufacturing and use of subpar components to where this would become an issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealership confirmed it’s a rack and pinion issue and they are out of stock and on back order. My pre-owned 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 Trailhawk is unsafe and unreliable because the vehicle ** would not start ** on three occasions within 18 months of ownership. Also, the "auto start" feature on the key fob works intermittently. Thankfully, I was in safe locations when the problems occurred, but two of those locations were in public, away from home. Also, the dashboard has indicator lights that come on randomly such as engine or start/stop or "check air suspension" or check ABS. THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. IT THEN STATED TO "SERVICE THE SHIFTER" WITHIN MINUTES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM CARMAX AND WITHIN 12 HOURS THAT CAME ON AFTER THEY DID A FULL BUMPER TO BUMPER INSPECTION.

WE TOW OUR VEHICLE AND IT IS HAVING A REAL BAD WOBBLE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE MAKE SHARP TURNS WHILE IN TOW ONLY. AFTER THE TURN IT USUALLY CORRECTS ITSELF. ALSO, THE FRONT WHEELS AND STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT COULD NOT TURN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE STIFFNESS OF THE STEERING WHEEL. WHILE BEING TOWED BY AN RV, THE JEEP STARTED VIOLENTLY WOBBLING WHICH SHOOK MY 40,000 # RV PRETTY HARD. THIS STARTED AFTER A SLOW (ABOUT 5MPH) LEFT TURN. THE WOBBLING DID NOT STOP UNTIL COMPLETELY STOPPING THE RV. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE IN 5,000 MILES OF BEING TOWED. HAS NEVER HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE JEEP ABOUT 11,000 MILES.

ON HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN OUR JEEP WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND STARTED TO THE LEFT. WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE, STEERING CONTROL WENT OUT AND TRACTION CONTROL KICKED ON. THIS CAUSED AN INABILITY TO PROPERLY CONTROL THE VEHICLE. TRACTION CONTROL PULLED VEHICLE INTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CAUSED A MINOR ACCIDENT.
