Passenger side rear axle leaking gear oil. Issued was repaired by dealership No warning I just saw the oil on the tire and in my driveway
My vehicles rear locker went out on me while driving on the road and completely destroyed itself. I have video evidence on how that looks at the shop where it cost me over 3k to get a new one because I could t drive it or I had to get a whole new rear differential. My steering is already been going loose at 70k miless
Without any warning and after about 7 minutes of driving, Jeep turned off while driving at about 40 mph. There were no dash lights or warnings and the Jeep has never had an issue or any other symptom previously. Would not start and had to be towed. 8 hours later it was still in a crank no start condition. Both batteries were fully charged so not a battery issue. I'm a long time Jeep owner, VP of the Middle Peninsula Jeep Association LLC and fairly well versed in Jeep mechanics. I only say that to let you know that I have a lot of experience with Jeeps, was able to exclude certain causes and have not encountered thisnwith any of my previous Jeeps. Jeep is in show condition and meticulously cared for. The day after vehicle shut off, all dash lights and windows also stopped working so issue also caused...
I am writing regarding my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave, which recently suffered engine damage due to a faulty head gasket. I understand the vehicle is approximately 5,000 miles over the 60,000-mile warranty; however, I believe this issue should not be my financial responsibility given the circumstances. At around 60,000 miles, I brought my Jeep in for a full service and inspection to ensure it was in top condition. I was informed at that time that everything looked fine and that there were no issues to address. Since then, I’ve continued to maintain the vehicle properly and drive it with care. The sudden head gasket failure, which ultimately led to engine damage, came as a complete surprise. This situation has been extremely difficult — not only because of the unexpected cost, but also because this Jeep was meant to be my long-term vehicle. My family and I have been loyal Mopar...
Gladiator on 3rd transmission and likely to need a 4th now at 26,000 miles. Each one failed the same way. The second gear in the manual transmission starts occasionally popping out of gear while driving and progresses in frequency over time to the point that it is impossible to keep in second gear at all. This may result in unsafe conditions such as loss of control of the vehicle. Each of my first two transmissions which were replaced were inspected by dealership technicians and the problem found to be easily repeatable. On tearing down of the transmission, pieces of internal components such as synchros were found to be disintegrated. I believe the transmissions were inspected by engineers from Jeep or its parent company though no findings were made available to myself. There were no warnings beyond the gradual escalation of the issue itself. The problem started happening at about 8000...
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission shifted abnormally roughly. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission was slipping, and the vehicle was jerking abnormally. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated while driving to the dealer, and the dealer reset the code. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.
Brought vehicle in for new tires. Upon inspection it was found that the rear axle seal was leaking. Contacted Jeep customer service and was told vehicle had no recalls. I state that there was a Customer Service Notification for this issue and was told there was not. Was told vehicle was out of warranty and was at was at my expense. Told the service rep that this issue was brought up when it was in warranty and was told by dealership that it wasn't an issue. Customer rep then told me i needed to get a second opinion at that time and that there was nothing that could be done.
[XXX] 2021 Jeep Gladiator had a recall on the rear axle seal leak they told me the parts were on back order and the dealership allowed the recall to time out. When they ordered them I took it in and they said the parts were the wrong parts and needed to reorder them. Jeep will rev up to around 7000 rpms and hesitates to go up steep hills. Power stearing fluid keeps leaking from somewhere. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2021 Jeep Gladiator at 43K miles brought in for oil change. Lube tech noticed that the right rear axle seal was leaking fluid with fluid sprayed over the inner wheel and nearby assembly. FSA Customer Satisfaction Notification states to reference CSN 26A and that the recommended remedy is to replace the right rear shaft. If not repaired/replaced, this could lead to damage to the transmission. I contacted my local dealership who informed me that my vehicle had no open recalls, even though Jeep forums state the problem is affecting thousands of Gladiators like mine.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that the passenger’s side rear axle was leaking. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the "Rear Axle Locked" message was flashing on the instrument panel. Upon investigation, the contact discovered an unknown recall for the rear axle fluid leak. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,080.
The vehicle would not turn over, but the battery came on. The vehicle wouldn’t allow me to turn off the battery and stayed in the position while I waited for the tow truck. By the time the vehicle made it to the dealership they refused to do a diagnostic and attempted to charge me for battery replacement even though it was due to a car malfunction. While the care was glitching the dash displayed messages about the stability control module and transmission were out and malfunctioning. If I were to be driving, the vehicle would have shut down while I was driving.
My 2021 Jeep Gladiator received the 19A Clutch Recall in late June 2024. The recall was issued due to clutch pressure plates disintegrating, blowing a hole in the transmission housing, and causing vehicle fires. Upon return, my vehicle was unable to drive smoothly. After further investigation, I determined that if the clutch and throttle were operated concurrently, the engine would shut off. The engine would shut off anywhere between 1 MPH and highway speed causing issues with operating hydraulically assisted systems (power brakes and power steering). In practice, this led to the engine shutting off between most gear shifts causing a jerky driving condition due to the engine needing to clutch start itself. I did not test how well the steering or brakes worked while the engine was shut off due to safety concerns. While pulling into my driveway, I momentarily lost control of the vehicle when the engine died...
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with a loud rattling noise coming from the clutch. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Transmission failure 850RE. 86000 miles. Known problem with this transmission. Left wife and children stranded in a very dangerous location on highway. Could not move vehicle off roadway.

Started hard shifting and then really struggled to shift and accelerate once I slowed down. Took to dealership and they said the transmission will need to be replaced. The engine light came on just shortly after the hard shifting and inability to accelerate.
There is an active parts recall for some Gladiators, Recall 26A, for the right rear axle shaft. This part on my vehicle has been failing for over 6 months. The ABS system, Traction Control, and 4WD system have active fault codes, preventing these systems from working as intended. In the last month, this problem has become unsafe due to 3 separate incidents where the traction control has triggered during normal driving conditions, causing the vehicle to become inoperable. In each of these incidents, I was travelling in a straight line, on dry roads, when the traction control system activated, preventing all acceleration to occur. In the first occurrence I was in a tunnel, and unable to pull over as there was no shoulder. This was driving in a straight line, accelerating up to about 15 mph before the traction control kicked in and disabled the drive train. Traffic was able...
Clutch has overheated during routine maneuvers with a distinctive punjent odor and smoke. According to the recall notice, the clutch pressure plate can overheat which may result in cracks in the transmission case allowing heated debris to be expelled from the transmission case. "Heated debris expelled from the transmission bell housing may come in contact with an ignition source in the vehicle or surrounding area, potentially leading to a fire. A fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle." Concerned for our safety, we replaced the clutch but have been refused reimbursement.
While driving multiple warnings appears on the dash including bus communication, airbag, transmission communication, and abs. The vehicles engine began to randomly change rpm. The transmission began to shift speratically and was unable to maintain speed. The vehicle would not allow me to turn on hazard lights to warn surrounding motorists. Similar warnings appeared on the dash once before and the vehicle would not start and left me stranded. When taken in for service for the no start issue, the dealer performed no repairs for this issue and stored P codes were cleared prior to the vehicle being returned to me. I am currently awaiting a service appointment for the issue that happened while driving.
The manual transmission would slip out of second gear while driving. This happened often and with no grinding noise. This causes problems while driving as the car will not be in gear when driver thinks that it is. This can be dangerous when driving in certain situations. There is no warning when it is about to happen. Car was at dealer for 31 days before they diagnosed the problem.
COMPLAINT: It is unacceptable that there is NO fix for this safety recall. The vehicle can not be considered safe to drive by my local Jeep dealer until a fix is done. Jeep has had since Feb and still there is no remedy. I am losing the safe use and operation of my vehicle.

Stellantis announced a recall in Feb/Mar 2023 for manual transmission Jeep gladiators and wranglers. My vehicle is a 2021 gladiator. There was some initial discussion of July 2023 as a solution and recall taking place, then eventually that was pushed back to Sep 2023. Now in Sep 2023 Jeep is saying it may be Jan 2024 for a solution to be announced,. Then they will take time in phases for different model years to get the solution, Hopefully a new and Improved clutch. According to the latest plan, I would not get the recall performed until July 2024. This is ridiculous. Jeep knows they need to replace approx 70,000 clutches to makes this right. I should not have to wait (at this date) for a year and a half and perhaps longer. Can you make Jeep either provide the clutches now, or fully reimburse us for installing aftermarket clutches in...
IT GOT 7 PROBLEM ISSUES AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL DUE TO ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL FAILED WHILE DROVE ON FREEWAY AND TOW TEARDROP (1400 LBS) . MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT, TRACTION ON (COULD NOT TURN OFF), ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ACTIVE POPPED UP ( COULD NOT TURN OFF), SERVICE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING LIGHT, CRUISE CONTROL FAULT WARNING LIGHT, SERVICE STOP/START SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT, SERVICE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WARNIING LIGHT (ALL OF THEM POPPED UP THAT COULD NOT TURN OFF). I WENT TO JIM CLICK JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I FEEL THAT MY TRUCK IS "LEMON" I TOLD THEM TO FIX ASAP BUT THEY CAN NOT FIX AND HAVE TO WAIT TILL AUGUST 9 (APPOINTMENT) TO CHECK WHATS WRONG.

Fuel pump is on safety recall with no fix in over a year
In December contacted my dealer about my vehicle catching fire. Due to a clutch recall that the maker already knew about. I was blown off as if the problem didn't exsist and told the dealer would not honor Jeep warranty so not to bring it there. The next option is an hour away and they were booking 2 months out. Then in March I looked up the recalls and the exact issue with my Jeep was recalled now on my Jeep with no remedy. This recall has been open on these since 2020 with no remedy. Called Jeep and they have no remedy or care in helping me make sure my brand new 2021 Jeep doesn't burn down. Also, the clutch has caused my transmission to now start slipping in 3rd gear. Someone needs to hold Jeep accountable.
Death wobble when hitting bumps on highway after 55mph.feels like front end wants to come of the jeep very scary situation. 2-Clutch noise when pressing and realeasing
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving in stop-and-go traffic, the clutch plate overheated. The clutch hot, fully release clutch and reduce clutch use message was displayed. There was a strong burning odor detected. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a clutch replacement was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the clutch was replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V028000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage occurred at approximately 6,000.
Transmission exploded while driving the highway creating a large hole on the side and sending shrapnel out which damaged further components. Transmission fluid was dumped all over the highway and vehicle lost power. It is available and I have photos and a video of when the failure accured. There are mutliple others who have had the same issue onFacebook group called Jeep Clutch Recal, related to a clutch recall that came out just before my Jeep was manufcatured. The failure occured with no other warnings available to me, Jeep told me that there was a fault code but would not give me a printout of the code or when it appeared saying the information was propriatery. Youtube video of failure https://youtu.be/1FBB33TWLPQ
As I was driving my vehicle was losing power intermittently to the drive train. It was like the clutch was being engaged partially although I was not shifting gears. As I made a left turn I was nearly in a collision as power was not transferred to the drive train as it normally would have been. another 10 miles later my vehicle lost all power to the drive train although the engine was still running. I coasted to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. I could smell something burning although no flames were evident. I waited a few minutes and restarted the vehicle. I tried shifting gears but the transmission would not engage. I left the vehicle at the side of the road and called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle as well as notifying Jeep Cares (I don’t think so). The vehicle was in...
The start stop mechanism has stopped working The traction control keeps randomly turning off when driving as does the screen. It doesn’t come back on until I turn car off and restart The clutch has apparently burned up without getting the clutch overheating warning. It only has 28k miles on it and I am an experienced manual driver. I have been going back and forth with the dealer who acknowledged that it is rare to need a new clutch/fly wheel this early but says Jeep will not cover it under warranty. I am super frustrated with the service I have received and contradicting information given from dealership.
When accelerating in 2 or 3 gear the transmission rattles. The engine will also cut power abruptly at times.
While at the dealer for a routine oil change, the tech observed fluid on inside of the passenger rear wheel, brake, and rotor. Fluid appears to be axle fluid that is leaking.
Vehicle derates power when ambient temps are 85* F and up while towing my camp (which is far below the max tow rating) During a couple of these derates I was in areas where the speed limit was 65 and 75 mph, my max obtainable speed was 35mph. I heavy truck traffic i feel that was in danger and a hazard in the road. This vehicle is rated to tow far more than the loads it is actually capable of towing in higher temperatures. I have seen my oil temps rise to 265* F on multiple occasions and it seems this is around the temperature that the vehicle starts to derate. It has been my observation that the cooling system is under sized and in turn puts occupants of the vehicle at risk.
While towing a trailer the vehicle suddenly reduces power to less than half and multiple check engine lights appear. This seems to happen only when outside temperatures are above 80f. I went from going 65mph to 45mph within 1/4 mile which caused sudden traffic issues behind me. I have had the vehicle to the dealer multiple times and they do not find anything even though there are multiple engine lights. I have had it happen a over 8 times in 1 year. I also have a co-worker that has had the same issue.
After stopping for fuel in Quartzite, Arizona I began to merge onto HWY 10. As I accelerated the vehicle limited my speed to 45 MPH. This is on a 70 MPH section with heavy truck traffic. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and limp to the next exit without incident. I then drove around backroads for 10 minutes, starting and stopping the vehicle and accelerating to 55 MPH. After this period of time the vehicle operated normally. This happened with no warning at all, temperatures were all within normal ranges. Since the incident I have found that this "derating" is common to the diesel engine in hot ambient temperatures or while going up hill. My safety was definitely at risk, in a different scenario it could have been much worse. I have spoked with several factory service centers and Jeep directly, they say they have never heard of...
1. Major electrical system intermittent failures, each incident progressively longer lasting and various malfunction warning lights/messages displayed in dash. 2. Loss of power steering while driving on three separate occasions within a 40 day period. First incident was loss of steering for only a few seconds. Second incident vehicle had to beame shut off and on multiple times before the computer reset and the vehicle drove fine. Third incident was catstrophic loss of electrical the system while driving, vehicle was pulled into middle turn lane where the engine died and would not start. Vehicle unable to start, shift, display hazard warning indicators etc. Vehicle displayed many errors and stated due to safety it would not be allowed to start without servicing. 3. Jeep has been at dealer three times. First incident, electrical malfunctioning was blamed on power step installation. Second incident was blamed on loose ground wire in engine bay....
Transmission is very clunky and jerky especially at low speed or when little input is applied to the gas and or if you are switching between brakes and gas in traffic. Transmission feels very hesitant. The steering isn’t terrible at low speeds but at highway speeds the vehicle wanders left and right at random. I have to put it a lot of micro movements with the steering wheel in order to keep it straight.
The vehicle operates in direction violation of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR): 49 CFR 571 Standard No. 124 outlining the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards governing the operation of the Accelerator Control Systems. The “standard establishes requirements for the return of a vehicle's throttle to the idle position when the driver removes the actuating force from the accelerator control.” 571.124 Section 5.1 requires that “there shall be at least two sources of energy capable of returning the throttle to the idle position within the time limit specified by S5.3 from any accelerator position or speed whenever the driver removes the opposing actuating force.” 571.124 Section 5.3 requires that the “maximum time to return to idle position shall be 1 second.” After testing, the average return to idle time is 5.2 seconds, indicating the failure of a dual-redundant fail safe. The excessive delay in the return to idle is due...
Right rear axle seal leak causing oil to go onto brake pads Oil leak from shock absorber reservoir
Right rear axle leaking possibly causing brake contamination and unexpected decrease in braking
Rear Axle Assembly leaking fluid onto rear brake drum and wheel hub assembly, potentially rendering brakes non-functional in rear of vehicle. Excessive drift/play in steering at moderate speeds (40mph+) "Death Wobble" experienced at speeds ~70mph. Front wheels/suspension near total loss of control. Steering column violently shuddering, and required excessive force to control. Vehicle is dealer stock, completely unmodified, with only 9500 miles on it. Dealer currently has vehicle. Replaced rear axle assembly. Currently test driving to try and reproduce shaking in steering and front drivetrain.
Leakage of oil from rear passenger side axle seal. Vehicle was purchased new in March 2021 and leak discovered in September 2021.
Leaking rear axle seal. Needs replacement of entire axle
Leaking rear passenger axle seal. Axle lubricant is spun all around the inside of the wheel and hub assembly; including break pads and caliper.
Right rear axle seal failure, was already inspected and verified at dealership. With the axle seal leaking, there is a hazard and potential for brake failure due to the gear oil covering the rear brake. Also, metal to metal differential gears will occur, causing metal shavings to contaminate the rear differential housing. No warning lamps or any in cab indications were/ are visible. Was noticed by visual inspection after the issue was brought up multiple times on a forum and social media.
Right rear axle seal leaking fluid onto the brake rotor, caliper, pads and wheel. From research this appears to be a common problem with this model year with numerous owners reporting that dealerships are replacing the entire axle assembly on that side.
