The contact stated that he shifted from drive (D) to park (P) and from park to neutral (N) and then drive (D) several times until the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to two transmission specialists, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. Was driving cars engine started shaking was stalling losing power in the middel of the road engine light came on we barely male the car home it was stalling out happend only less than 5 miles from home put code reader on vehicle had 5 codes one was Power train and other spark plug ect going out dealer ship they had it towed the tow truck driver couldn't get the 2 front tires to move took him 2 hrs finally he told me he had to remove my drive shaft to tow it the dealer ship cleared the codes told me nothing is wrong with the vehicle and I have to come get it and drive it home 1 hr 30 min from there I am not willing to do that it's unsafe also they sold it to me with broken seat belts and a water leak that flood in...

The vehicle also lost power steering and braking functionality and stalled with an audible tone. There were no warning lights illuminated. On another occasion the vehicle lost motive power and was struck by the vehicle in the rear. There was no physical damage to the vehicle and there was no injury sustained. The police were not notified and both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene. On another occasion the vehicle stalled and was towed to the residence; then towed to the local dealer. THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED, BUT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS NOT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. FIRST MY GAUGE CLUSTER JUST GOES CRAZY PARKED OR EVEN WHILE DRIVING IT. NOW I JUST DROVE IT DOWN THE ROAD AND IT IS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR WILL NOT GO INTO ANY OTHER GEAR!
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING ALONG AS NORMAL ON THE CITY STREET WITH MINIMAL AND MY VEHICLE CUT OFF ON ITS OWN. IT WILL NOT TURN OVER OR EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER.
OUR 2007 JEEP COMMANDER HAS HAD A RECURRING ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR WHILE IN OPERATION WHETHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF RANDOMLY. WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN. THE RANDOM VEHICLE SHUTDOWNS TAKE PLACE IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND REGARDLESS OF UPHILL OR DOWNHILL DRIVING. BROUGHT THE JEEP COMMANDER TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AS PART OF A RECALL. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AT ALL AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIGURE OUT CAUSES FOR RANDOM STALLING EVEN WHEN THE COMMANDER FAILED DURING TESTING WITH TECHNICIANS. I REPLACED VIRTUALLY EVERY SENSOR I COULD IMAGINE INCLUDING, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND IDLE AIR CONTROL SENSOR, EGR, MAP SENSOR, AIR INTAKE SENSOR AND THE PCM. NO LUCK, WE HAVE THE SAME RANDOM STALLING AND THE PROCEDURE IS, RESTART THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL FOR RECOVERY WHILE...
LIKE COUNTLESS OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE FORM YEARS 2006-2007, THE "TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE" LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR YEARS. I'VE SPEND OVER $1500 ON REPAIR FOR ALL THINGS SURROUNDING THE TRANSMISSION, ONLY FOR THE LIGHT TO CONTINUE TO COME ON. THIS LOUD CLUNKING NOISE AND VIBRATION ON DOWNSHIFTING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME. HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SLOWING DOWN AND THE TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING. A PRONOUNCED CLUNK TWO TIMES AS I SLOW DOWN. I HAVE TAKEN THE JEEP TO THE DEALER AND VARIOUS REPAIR FACILITIES AND IT CAN'T BE FIXED. THE JEEP PEOPLE CLAIM THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. SINCE THEN, THE VEHICLE CHRONICALLY AND RANDOMLY WILL STALL. I HAVE HAD IT STALL AS MUCH AS 7 TIMES IN THE SPACE OF GOING 12 MILES! IT WILL STALL ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH; OR STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN; VIRTUALLY ANYWHERE ANYTIME! THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
