WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT CRUISING SPEED, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SUDDENLY LIT UP, AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, RESULTING IN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING, AND BRAKE BOOST POWER. VEHICLE HAD TO BE PULLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED. THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SAME WEEK. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS PART OF THE P41 RECALL AND THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THIS VEHICLE IS ALREADY UNDER P41 / NHTSA 14V-438, FIRST ANNOUNCED ON JULY 18, 2014. NOW FOUR MONTHS LATER (9 IN TOTAL) CHRYSLER HAS NOT TAKEN ANY STEPS TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I NOTICED MY BACK UP ASSIST LIGHTS FLASHING. NEXT THING I NOTICED WAS MY RPM AND MPH GAUGES WERE MOVING TOGETHER AND BOUNCING BETWEEN 0-30 MPH. THE TURN SIGNAL ON THE CAR IS INTERMITTENT WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING AND THE RADIO ALSO IS INTERMITTENT. THIS IS HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE A DAY NOW. I'VE ALSO HAD THE VEHICLE SHIFT OFF ON ME WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS ISSUE GOES WITH THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT HAVE POPPED UP. ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK ONE NIGHT MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY AND HAD IT CHECKED. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE KNOCK SENSOR CAUSING THE WARNING. HE HAD TO ORDER THE PARTS TO REPLACE THE SENSORS. AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED IT WAS JUST FINE FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS. THE CHECK ENGINE CAME BACK ON AGAIN. TOOK BACK TO OUR MECHANIC HE SAID THEY WERE BAD AND REPLACED THEM AGAIN. THE FIRST TWO WERE SETS FROM AUTO PARTS SUPPLIERS BUT WHEN THE SECOND PART FAILED HE ORDERED A SET FROM THE JEEP DEALER. WELL THEY FAILED. HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE JEEP DEALER TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. ACCORDING TO THEM THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE KNOCK SENSOR. I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE. MY MECHANIC IS AT HIS WITS END ABOUT IT....

MY 2007 JEEP COMMANDER CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED FOR A COUPLE HRS. FIRE INVESTIGATOR SAID IT ORIGINATED IN THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE HEADLINER. JEEP SENT OUT AN INVESTIGATOR AND STATED NO MANUFACTURER DEFECT, PRIOR TO INCIDENT, ALL LIGHTS,DASHBOARD,HEADLIGHTS WOULD SHUT OFF. TAKEN TO DEALER AND SOMETHING WITH COMPUTER WAS RESET. ON 2/11/14 TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE STARTER MOTOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND IT HAD TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER MOTOR AND I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. AFTER THIS THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON AND I WOULD THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I SHOULD NOT HAD TO PAY FOR ANY OF THIS. BUT I DID. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO REPLACE A SHORT IN THE HARNESS PART #5143387AA. ALSO, THE SAID THE DRIVER SEAT BELT WAS CAUSING AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO ON. THIS WAS A DEFECT. I BELIEVE THAT IF THESE ARE RECALLS AND SAFETY ISSUES FROM CHRYSLER AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THEM I WOULD THINK THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR TAKING CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMETHING BAD REALLY HAPPENED.
