The car makes a ticking noise when turning the wheel. It originally only happened when making left turns but recently it has started making the noise when making right turns as well.

Axels make a clicking noise when making a sharp turn from a stop. Axel failure can lead to catastrophic accident. Dealer inspected and confirmed noise. Dealer advised that Honda is refusing to replace the axel under warranty with the current available part. the noise is evidence of parts of the axel assembly making contact when they are not supposed to which will inevitably lead to failure which makes this a serious safety issue. Honda is supposedly aware of the issue and is working on a fix. This has been a known failure issue since the car was released. Honda has had more than enough time to fix it. It's failure to so so on such a critical part is inexcusable.

Clicking noises when turning. Dealership no longer fixing (fixed passenger side, driver side still unrepaired). Front end collision breaking happening at random, causing unsafe breaking in the middle of the road. Also frequently happening when releasing break at stop light, narrowly avoiding multiple rear end collisions due to breaks being slammed on by vehicle collision system. Now with high voltage battery failure message, blowing cold air out of hvac system and performing at reduced acceleration.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring safety defect in my 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN: [XXX] ), serviced at AutoNation Honda Chandler in Chandler, Arizona. Most recent service reference: Invoice #XXX. The vehicle has experienced a repeated knocking noise coming from the right front wheel area, particularly when turning right or left at low speeds with the steering wheel fully turned. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a failure of the front wheel drive half shaft (outboard passenger axle) and replaced the component. This same part has now failed three times. Despite multiple repairs and part replacements, the problem continues to return. The front axle/half shaft is a critical drivetrain component, and failure of this part can affect steering control and vehicle stability, especially during turning. Between all service visits, my vehicle has been at the dealership for nearly one month in total. Most recently, my third appointment was...

DRIVE AXLE MAKE CLICKING SOUNDS WHEN TURNING, POSSIBLE LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING. INSPECTED BY HONDA. STATED KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NO FIX IN PLACE BY MANUFACTURER.

Vehicle makes a loud clicking noise and shake from front left - worse when turning. Dealer advised CV BOOT/Axle issue but will not fix.

Backup Camera Failure (Occurred at approx. 1,000 miles) Part was on backorder, the rearview camera remained inoperative for approximately 99 days (February 22 through May 31, 2025). This rendered the vehicle non-compliant with federal rearview camera safety requirements. Emergency Braking System Issues (Ongoing) Compounding this, the vehicle’s emergency braking system would activate erratically and without cause, including: •When entering or exiting my driveway •During normal lane changes •When driving near trucks or concrete barriers Because these events occurred repeatedly and unexpectedly, I was forced to disable this safety system to avoid sudden braking events, further compromising vehicle safety. Broken CV Axles (Officially diagnosed at approx. 6,000-7,000 miles) •On May 31, 2025, the vehicle was returned to the dealership for backup camera installation and to revisit the knocking noise, this time properly documented. •That same day, both the left and right CV axles were diagnosed as broken, and I was told...

Cv joints knocking on hard turns
#11715303 |
When turning a knocking sound occurs. It sounds like it is coming from the back of the vehicle. It happens when you turn right or left. Concerned that this could lead to a part breaking and causing an accident.

High voltage warning light, service vehicle soon light, reduced speed limit, would not charge past 25%, forward looking camera issues warning light would show up randomly Called the local Honda dealer(01/26/26), talked with service manager, He told me to bring the vehicle in immediately. The Honda dealer refused to fix it under warranty since it was in an accident.(Right fender and driver door needed repaired.) The dealer wanted $300 dollars to perform a diagnostic test on vehicle. Dealer found that the HVAC system had failed which also includes the 12 volt charging system to also fail. Dealer wanted an additional $800 for further diagnostic testing. Informed me that the full warranty was void do to it being in a previous accident and I will be responsible for all repairs for this vehicle. Contacted Honda headquarters and filed a complaint thru them. The car was towed to another dealer where they...

Generally loud clanking/popping sounds coming from front axels when making turns
#11715111 |
Anytime I turn the steering wheel to the left, there is a really loud clanking noise coming from the front left tire. It gets really loud when the car is cold, and only slightly improve when the car is warmed up. I worry that there is a problem with the axle that can be a safety issue. While I am just reporting this today, it has been going on for at least 12 months.

Very loud noises coming from the front wheels, as if something is broken. I've already taken it to the dealership, but they haven't fixed anything. They just say it's normal. I'm afraid of causing a serious accident because I think it's a problem with the front suspension or steering.
#11714824 |
Since ~7000 miles, there is loud clicking noise hearable as soon as the wheels are turned either to the very right or left on the car.
#11714625 |
Heard knocking noise when making a right hand turn on a steep embankment. Thought nothing of it but as time went on the noise became more frequent even with the slightest incline. Decided to take it to the dealership to get checked out. Was told there was a known issue with the cv joints and parts would be placed on order. Eight months later and still no fix, I spoke to my service consultant and was told these parts are on back order. Noise is getting worse and happening more often than not when turning. Car is at 11k miles.
#11714638 |
When turning right from stand still, hear clicking sounds that appear to be coming from the right side.
#11714622 |
Front axle clicking noise when turning left, most noticeable at low speeds and from a stop. Noise is repeatable and occurs consistently during left turns. Suspected front axle / CV joint defect. Concerned about potential powertrain failure and loss of drive while turning. Vehicle is a 2024 Honda Prologue.

I have just over 8,000 miles, and now when I turn left or right there is clicking sounds coming from the front suspension (left tire area when turning left, right tire area when turning right). I've had the vehicle (bought used) for about 1500 miles now. I don't notice anything other than the clicking sound, but I'm afraid that there might be more wrong with the suspension. I plan on going to the dealer to look at it.
#11713892 |
The front suspension (CV joint or drive shaft) makes a clicking/popping/knocking noises when turning right and left from a standstill. The car has 15,000 miles. The noise started around 10,000 miles.
#11713598 |
Front axel joint needs to be replaced, dealer unable to replace as was told No part exists.
#11713192 |
It's a noise coming from the front of both tires; it's a very, very unpleasant noise that's a little frightening because it's in the suspension area of the tires, and it sounds like something could break. The noise is also very loud and quite annoying. It's uncomfortable to drive with that noise all the time; it's constant when turning left or right. I'm trying to figure out if it's a manufacturing defect or something that can be fixed. I've already taken it to the dealership twice to report this problem, and they tell me it's normal, that the car is supposed to make that noise, but I don't think it's normal. I need an answer to my problem before I can talk to my lawyer because I don't think this is normal. It's a new truck; I don't think this is normal.

#11712066 |
Clicking noise from the axel joints when turning. Already replaced once and happening again. Worried it is a safety issue.
#11711846 |
When I turn my Honda Prologue wheels to the right or left and accelerate (usually all the way/full turn, but not always), I will hear clicking. I understand this has been a previously reported CV Axle joint clicking issue that I am now experiencing on my car.
#11711503 |
My honda prologue makes a loud knocking sound at every turn. Dealer says it's covered under warranty and it's the CV axle. Came in today and apparently there was a stop work order for this issue on the honda prologues. This issue has been replicated and confirmed by the dealer. This issue appeared around 2 months ago at around 12k miles. No warning lamps, no system warning, just a very loud knocking sound at every turn.
#11711103 |
When turning the steering wheel 3/4 turn, a knocking sound is heard until the steering wheel is straightened. Suspecting CV joints.
#11711133 |
CV joints clicking when turning Service eCall keeps coming on Warning light on next to battery range with an exclamation point over the car. The manual indicates its a system malfunction that can be related to vehicle stability assist (VSA) electric power steering (EPS). My safety has not been put at risk. I am scheduled to have the car inspected and repaired on 1/19/26.

Clicking noise from CV joints when turning left and right at 7717 miles.
#11710909 |
Cv joints since 800 miles had new one put in at 9089 miles. Clicking starting happening again about 1,000 miles after repair was done. My car is currently at 12,000 miles and its worse than its ever been. I called the dealer and waiting for a call back. The next is AEB system. My car will suddenly go through all the motions of emergency braking at a stand still. I also get the beeping on the highway and there is nothing in front of me or around me

CV joints making clicking noise when turning both sides.
#11708956 |
The vehicle's steering and suspension are making a clicking noise at the CV joint. There are no clear dashboard signs or error indicating that there is an issue with the vehicle. It started a couple months ago and I see that it is a common issue in Honda prologue coming from Chevy component reuse.
#11708432 |
The CV Joints on both sides of the front axel (left and right) were failing and replaced in December. They are already failing again and have to be replaced again. But Honda is just replacing them with the same parts, seemingly unconcerned that it poses a significant safety risk. Here is the summary as I understand it: A failing CV joint on a Honda Prologue often starts with clicking/popping noises when turning, vibrations, and potential power loss, but can escalate to the joint disintegrating, causing the axle to break, leading to the wheel locking up and potential loss of control, making the vehicle undrivable and unsafe. Many owners report issues with premature CV axle failure, characterized by these symptoms, sometimes leading to a complete axle replacement under warranty. The clunking noise is what has been the biggest teller for us, confirmed upon inspection. This started around 8k miles and was...

The vehicle's steering and suspension are making a clicking noise at the CV joint. There are no clear dashboard signs or error indicating that there is an issue with the vehicle. Multiple service department members at Honda dealerships have noted a large number of problems related to this topic. The car will be taken to the dealership on January 31, 2026, for inspection. The service department mentioned that the vehicle will be inspected and a service notice will be created, but there is no solution for this safety issue.

Unknown When turning vehicle makes noise (Looks like CV joint noise)
#11705842 |
Vehicle only has 13K miles and is one year old, and is making a clicking noise when turning. Especially noticeable when it's cold or I just started driving the vehicle. Called Honda Dealership and the service advisor acknowledged that they're aware of this problem but do not have the parts available to fix it. I believe this vehicle has a problem with defective CV joints/ankle. I was told they would put me on a list and contact me when backordered parts are available, but I'm not sure if I can believe I'll be contacted.

There is a knocking/clicking sound when I accelerate and turn. It sounds like a CV joint. I had it evaluated by the dealer today and they reported they heard it once, but could not reproduce the problem, so they tightened some bolts, but that was all. As soon as I left the dealer it made the noise coming out of the dealer's driveway and multiple times on the way home. I have scheduled another appointment for tomorrow, but I don't see how they could not reproduce the problem. It's very obvious.

My 2024 honda prologue was brought in to service a battery failure light and get a clicking noise in the front axel looked at when turning. The light was a red on the dash shaped like a car with an exclamation point. Dealer claimed that the multiple codes were nothing and that the car needs a new audio system. Not sure how audio systems = battery failure but i digress. I was told my car is safe to drive so I picked it up, they have still not made any repairs as the audio system is on back order. The morning after i picked it up, the heater started blowing ice cold air, in 10 degree weather. Immediately returned to the dealer where they are saying they don’t know what’s wrong with it and they think it is still safe to drive

Been hearing a clicking noise from my front end of the prologue for quite some time. Keep having it written off that it’s nothing. However I see people having complaints and getting the vehicle serviced. Also my charger door compartment has been replaced 2x and is almost headed in for a third replacement. Buy back investigation has been launched by Honda. No news since July

My Honda Prologue is experiencing CV joint issues, primarily manifesting as a loud clicking or knocking noise when turning, even at low mileage. I have only just reported this to my Honda dealer, but the vehicle is still within the warranty period. From what I have read, the part was not designed correctly and it will fail on every single vehicle. The problem is widespread enough that there should be a recall issued and Honda should be forced to fix the part on every single vehicle it sold.

Clicking noise when Hard turn right and left. Dealer says expected behaviour.
#11703767 |
At approximately 3000 miles, I started hearing clicking noises from front end when accelerating while turning. Noise is more pronounced when turning left and when car is cold, but is rapidly getting worse and is now apparent on both sides and occurs whether cold or not. Dealer says it is CV joints, and a bulletin is out on this repair. Parts are back ordered and not readily available. Google search reveals this is a widespread issue, which explains parts shortage. Dealer says no update to parts has yet occurred, so it seems likely I will need to replace CV joints every time my tires are rotated! After 3 years or 36K miles, it will be a $3000 tire rotation I will be paying for! Please hold GM/Honda responsible for engineering a fix to this problem. I have read of people on their sixth set of axels!
