The car makes a ticking noise when turning the wheel. It originally only happened when making left turns but recently it has started making the noise when making right turns as well.
Vehicle Information Year: 2024 Make: Honda Model: Prologue Purchase Date: February 10, 2025 Mileage at Time of Issue: Approximately 40,654 miles Date Problem Occurred: February 19, 2026 Complaint Description: I purchased a brand-new 2024 Honda Prologue on February 10, 2025. On February 19, 2026, I received a warning message on the dashboard that stated “Service High Voltage System.” At the time the warning appeared, the vehicle had approximately 40,654 miles on the odometer. This warning concerns me because the high-voltage system is a critical component of the vehicle’s electric power train. A malfunction in this system could potentially affect the vehicle’s ability to operate safely, charge properly, or maintain normal performance. Since this is an electric vehicle, any issue with the high-voltage system could create a safety risk, especially if the vehicle were to lose power or fail while driving. I am submitting this complaint so the issue can be...
On 2/19/2026 I was taking an freeway exit ramp from I 15 south to Carrol Carrol canyon and I stepped on the brake but the car did not slow (my perception was it was speeding up), the vehicle collision warning did not sound and the vehicle did not emergency brake, therefore I hit a stopped vehicle at a stoplight. The air bags did not deploy. Attached pictures: Left side is the vehicle was rear ended. Right side is the Honda Prologue
I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring safety defect in my 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN: [XXX] ), serviced at AutoNation Honda Chandler in Chandler, Arizona. Most recent service reference: Invoice #XXX. The vehicle has experienced a repeated knocking noise coming from the right front wheel area, particularly when turning right or left at low speeds with the steering wheel fully turned. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a failure of the front wheel drive half shaft (outboard passenger axle) and replaced the component. This same part has now failed three times. Despite multiple repairs and part replacements, the problem continues to return. The front axle/half shaft is a critical drivetrain component, and failure of this part can affect steering control and vehicle stability, especially during turning. Between all service visits, my vehicle has been at the dealership for nearly one month in total. Most recently, my third appointment was...
Backup Camera Failure (Occurred at approx. 1,000 miles) Part was on backorder, the rearview camera remained inoperative for approximately 99 days (February 22 through May 31, 2025). This rendered the vehicle non-compliant with federal rearview camera safety requirements. Emergency Braking System Issues (Ongoing) Compounding this, the vehicle’s emergency braking system would activate erratically and without cause, including: •When entering or exiting my driveway •During normal lane changes •When driving near trucks or concrete barriers Because these events occurred repeatedly and unexpectedly, I was forced to disable this safety system to avoid sudden braking events, further compromising vehicle safety. Broken CV Axles (Officially diagnosed at approx. 6,000-7,000 miles) •On May 31, 2025, the vehicle was returned to the dealership for backup camera installation and to revisit the knocking noise, this time properly documented. •That same day, both the left and right CV axles were diagnosed as broken, and I was told...
I get a clicking sound everytime I make a right or left turn. The clicking sound has gotten worse since I bought the vehicle new in December 2024. The clicking sound is very loud when I make right or left turns.
Very loud noises coming from the front wheels, as if something is broken. I've already taken it to the dealership, but they haven't fixed anything. They just say it's normal. I'm afraid of causing a serious accident because I think it's a problem with the front suspension or steering.
The digital instrument cluster (dashboard screen) and the infotainment screen went black while I was driving. This meant I was unable to see my MHP or any critical information on my car. I was listening to music and first it stopped, then a moment later both screens went black. This lasted for 30 seconds until one came on followed by the other.
The automatic emergency barking system suddenly applies even when there are no obstructions. Happens regularly. I was almost rear-ended at a stop light by another vehicle because of the sudden application of the emergency braking system, even though there was nothing in front of me. Axel makes a loud cranking sound when making a right or let turn. Battery 'Service vehicle now' warning consistently comes on with warning to reduce acceleration even when the vehicle is not in motion.
When turning my vehicle I hear a clicking & cracking sound in the cv joints of the car. It happens in both directions. This can be a safety issue when driving if the axial or CV joints fail. It could put myself, my family & other people on the road in danger if this happens & the joints go out or fail. NO warning lights it just happened over time. the car has only 14000 miles at the time of this complaint.
Both my screen and dash are off which I’m unable to see my mph or any info on my dash
I was driving and both screens went completely black. Vehicle was charged to over 80%. I could not see speed or any other vehicle information on either screen. After about 5 seconds the screen above the steering wheel started to load back up and then the other screen followed.
CV joint clicking when turning about 1 month after purchasing the vehicle last year (vehicle purchased 1/4/25). Dealer is aware but said that there is no fix. Still clicking turning both left and right. False emergency breaking system--alerts when there is nothing in front of the car. Has suddenly stopped while driving twice, which is dangerous.
The vehicle began popping when turning left near the axel. Once brought up to Honda we were made aware that they know about the issue but my vehicle didn’t fall as necessary to fix…..yet and they are hoping for a recall in order to address my issue. Till then I’m supposed to drive around with a potentially broken axel with my children.
Loud axle clicking when turning from both wheels
Camera backup manufacturing not working suddenly after freezing day .
Component: Front CV joints making clicking sound while turning. Safety risk: CV joints are critical to maintaining the car's speed and stability on the road, which in turn guards the safety of occupants. Reproduction: The problem is consistently heard while turning. Inspections: The problem is well known across owner forums and Honda is aware of it. Warning messages: None. The problem is mechanical and is manifested through noise during normal driving conditions.
Hondalink cannot stay linked to the car and frequently will not connect at all. Last week, the car locked with my keys inside, and Hondalink could not connect to unlock the car, keeping me locked out with my sleeping child in the car until someone could bring me my spare key to get in. This was terrifying and a huge safety risk.
I was driving my car and suddenly I received high voltage battery warning and I had to stop my car in between of freeway.
Both front axles began clicking/clunking at 10K miles on the odometer. Taking to dealer to have CVs replaced this week under warranty. Worried that this will be quite expensive and lemon law once the warranty runs out.
The CV joint is clicking on both side of the suv.
AXLE ISSUE NOISE LETF AND RIGHT
CV axel clicking when turning. Most noticeable when outdoor temperature is cold. Also when applying right turn signal and making the turn. After making the turn when the switch goes back to neutral it will bump on the left turn signal and it will signal 3 times causing confusion to other drivers.
Several issues!! When I turn I hear clicking noises. Last night The "Service High Voltage System" warning lights came on. The Interior pieces are falling off my door and the vent on driver side dash. The automatic emergency break is very strong and jerks very heavily when back up. It’s not turned off!
This vehicle started making a clicking sound at 2000 miles when turning. This is a known issue with the 2024 axels that Honda refuses to fix. I took this in to my dealer and they said it was normal, that all of the 2024 models are making this sound.
Cv joints clicking. Local Honda service department is aware of the problem, but no fix for it. Service high voltage battery with reduced power. This just came up that limits driving. Heater stopped working. Infotainment center will black out on and off every time I turn on the car. Very dangerous when I forget and I’m backing out of my garage.
HondaLink does not work. I cannot rely on the app to charge or use any functionality of the app. I have to use other charging apps to charge my car.
When you turn on Reverse at night, the back up camera is so dark it is hard to see if it’s not fully lit outside by other means. Either the camera needs to be better quality for night viewing or another lighting source should be added to see safely. Thank you.
Clicking noise while truning the vehicle at low speed. The sound seems to be coming from CV joints from front axles. Early on, I did not pay much attention becuase the there were a small number of clicking sound. But as the time has passed, I hear clicking sound has become more prominent.
I purchased brand new honda prologue almost spent 60k and from the day i bought the car starting the next week it start making slow sounds from front tire or suspension and slowly slowly it going more and more i went for my 1 service complain about that to the service advisor he finish the service and come back to me and give me the answer that this is manufacture default honda is having we cannot do nothing in this case indeed not having no help i leave from there the sounds getting more and more i am getting too scared to drive this vehicle on highway on 70mph because i feel the tire will break i went again for 2 service recently with more noice and they gave me the same answer that honda have manufacturing default i mean spending 60k with this kind of response is crazy i...
Multiple warnings: AWD temporarily unavailable, service stabilitrak, reduced acceleration drive with care. Not braking completely when speeding
Knocking noise when making a right or left noise. Noise seems to slowly get louder.
Leased vehicle 8/31/24, HondaLink app crashed within 45 minutes of leaving the dealership. Spent the next 3.5 months on the phone and emailing regularly with Honda for assistance, updates, or a solution, usually with limited response and no resolution. We were told by Honda to not drive the car until the issue was resolved, but they wouldn’t take it in to a shop or anything. The issue was resolved 12/13/2024 and it finally worked - and just crashed again. Unfortunately critical updates are sent through the app, so this puts us at risk if an update is available and inaccessible to us due to the app issue. The car also randomly changes settings such as lights, window locks, door locks settings, CarPlay won’t work, wireless CarPlay does not work, drops phones completely off, slams on the brakes while backing up, and recently started slamming on the brakes going forward with...
Vehicle Make: Honda Model: Prologue Year: 2024 VIN: [XXX] Description of the issue: I own a 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX] ) with approximately 7,500 miles. I began noticing a clacking or clicking sound when turning the steering wheel fully left or right. There is also visible grease on the inside of the front wheels, indicating a possible failure in the axle system. I took the vehicle to Honda White Plains, where I was informed that the front axles must be replaced. The issue is reportedly covered under warranty, but the dealership is waiting for Honda’s approval to proceed with the replacement. I am filing this report because I am concerned about potential safety implications related to steering or suspension, and to document this issue in case other owners are experiencing similar failures. When I apply my indicator in one direction and begin my turn, the indicator automatically turns off at a certain point. Immediately afterwards, the OPPOSITE indicator automatically flashes about three times. This happens about half of the time I’m making a basic 90 degree turn. It has happened regularly since I purchased the car in December of last year. It is a safety issue since the people behind me think I am making a quick left after making a right or vice versa. It seems to be an issue with GM models, and this is a GM build.
Turn signal switch actuator. When engaging in a right turn with the signal on, the turn signal switch will attempt to auto-reset into position where it will regularly engage the left-turn signal 3-blink indication for a lane change. The issue does not occur with every singly turn, but with enough regularity for it to be a very common occurrence on every drive the vehicle takes. On our most recent drive, of approximately 4 miles, the issue occurred 3 times, which was 75% of the right turns made on that trip. Brought the vehicle in for testing and fixes, and was given a loaner vehicle of the same model. Loaner vehicle shares the same exact problem when making right turns. This is a safety issue that should demand a recall, as it is an important safety system to alert other drivers on the road of your intentions. When finishing a right...
During my experience with the 2024 Honda Prologue, I have encountered several significant issues related to the vehicle's starter system. Notably, while reversing, the car intermittently engages the brakes as if it detects an obstacle behind it. Additionally, while driving, the vehicle occasionally applies the brakes unexpectedly, presuming that a collision is imminent. Furthermore, I observed a rapid decline in battery power, accompanied by error messages on the dashboard indicating "Service Soon" and "Service High Voltage System.” After consulting with a service center, I was informed that no issues were detected with the vehicle. However, I am presently receiving persistent error notifications stating "Service High Voltage System" and "Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care." In addition, the air conditioning system has ceased to function, and I have been unable to charge the vehicle effectively. Each attempt to charge concludes with the message indicating that charging is complete, yet the battery remains...
HONDALINK app does not operate as intended, restricting access to vehicle door unlock, safety warnings/alerts or tire safety information or roadside assistance during incidents.
GPS Navigation - The dashboard's Google GPS navigation has stopped functioning. OnStar System - The OnStar light remains red, indicating a potential issue with the system. CarPlay - offers to use Google Maps or Maps, however, when selecting Maps, the system returns the Google Maps. Safety Concerns - While the immediate safety risks may be minimal, the malfunctioning GPS can affect route planning, and the red OnStar light suggests potential issues with emergency communication services. I was utilizing the navigation system when it stopped working and I did get lost because the system stopped working and displayed where I had last charged my car. When I contacted Honda, I was given an appointment date/time. On the day of the appointment, Honda Service team was unsure why I was given a 5 PM appointment and did not provide assistance. I plan to go again this week to get assistance. There are...
I turned my car on and it made an extremely loud, dangerously loud, loudest noise you have ever heard loud, static noise. I turned it off and waited and turned it back on and same thing. I tried shifting it to drive, and the noise stopped. However, every time I did anything where the vehicle would make a noise, it would make a full-volume static blasting noise instead. It was not safe to drive and I am afraid it has permanently damaged my eardrums. This is a known issue (see links below) and needs to be fixed immediately. Passenger side mirror will not move. Blind spot warning on passenger side/ mirror inoperative.
Feont axle makes clicking noise when turned left. Honda tried to replace axle but sound did not go away. Honda said they dont know and its under investigation
Everything I turn the steering wheel, rather it’s to the left or right, there are clicking noises coming from the area of the wheel well. My dealership states there’s no fix to the issue, but it’s louder and louder by the day.
The back up camera has malfunctioned and is taking moisture into the lens, making it impossible to see out of. Due to this I cannot properly see blind spots behind my vehicle when backing up, putting those behind me at risk. The dealer confirmed this issue 4/10/2025. The dealer inspected the camera to confirm the issue. There were no warnings messages, or other symptoms prior to the camera failure. This issue first became known around 4/1/2025.
I leased this vehicle approximately three weeks ago, yesterday as I was adjusting the dashboard lighting, the service high voltage battery warning came on. Now the vehicle wont take a charge, the vehicle has changed the charge setting to 40%, and I cannot increase it. I 've reserved an appointment for 4/11/2025 for the vehicle to be serviced, and was told that I wont be given a loaner vehicle. This entire scenario is very inconvenient to say the least. This my first Honda and probably my last. I feel that my safety is at risk in this case, as I cant drive it now, since I cant recharge the battery, so the vehicle is totally unreliable at this time. There were no warning signs of this issue, and I'm grateful that the vehicle didnt die in the middle of rush hour traffic, or leave me stranded somewhere.
“While driving with my family, my car’s displays suddenly went black, which was a serious safety concern. I had to pull over for about an hour until they came back on, as I couldn’t see anything.”
After having my car plugged in over night, I unplugged my vehicle and put the cap on the charger. Since I was going to be gone for 4 days, I decided to unplug my charger from the wall. Since I had turned my back to the charging port, I didn’t notice the charge door was still open. I got in the car and I proceeded to back out of the garage with the door ajar. There is a warning light on the dash but while in reverse in a garage, a number of parking sensors are always beeping so I was desensitized to beeps. The charge door caught the side of the garage door and bent too far backwards and broke. I really wish the vehicle either made you acknowledge the warning before it would move or the warning showed up on the camera screen as well, where your eyes...
Where to begin? not even 2 weeks after having this vehicle it nearly caused a major accident and gave me whiplash & neck problems (have doctors documentation as proof) when the automatic breaking system hard breaked my vehicle twice in the same trip (20 minutes from work to home) with the second time resulting in my car skidding quite a few feet on a highway in the middle of rush hour traffic (want to note the distance in front of the car was quite significant both times) also both CV joint axles need replacing on top of rear passenger door is not the right size & often pops open. Honda dealership has my vehicle for 31 days back in December January stating parts for door would be in within the month and the cv axle would be beginning of march. here it is March 26th and I've heard nothing from...
Every time this car comes to a stop, it rocks back and forth significantly on its suspension. Even at low speeds, it is noticeable when breaking, with about a second and a half of five to six rebounds back and forth. It is highly prominent with stronger braking or stop-and-go traffic, resulting in about two seconds of hard rocking back and forth. This problem happens more when the car is being driven in normal mode, meaning using both the acceleration and brake pedals; it’s less pronounced when driving in “one-pedal” mode. I took the car to the dealer service department, and they tested my car and other Prologues. The service department manager said this seems to be a problem in all the Prologues, even a 2025 model they tested. This problem is causing motion sickness for me and my wife, which can lead to distractions and potentially unsafe behaviors as...
As I was coming to a stop light, the radio stopped working. A message came up..."Tuner unavailable. This may fix itself. If not, restart your vehicle. Vechicle may need service." Soon after this, my blinker stopped working. I was able to proceed with the left hand turn but then dashboards (left and radio one) all went blank. I was able to drive to get to a safe spot. In doing so, the dashboard did come back on and I was able to drive onward. THIS WAS A VERY NERVE WRACKING EXPERIENCE NOT HAVING SIGNALS!
