Hello, the vehicle needs new tires and the alignment is not working properly after going 60 MPH on the highway it shakes.
One main problem I have consistently noticed is signs someone other than me is getting in my car or leaving at least impression they did inside the car alot although I am the only one supposed to have a key. It was happening so much I paid Lafontaine Honda more than $1000 to change out the keys including the ignition but that hasnt resolved the problem. I still see normal evidence they are actually touching things inside my car and even stealing alot of fuel which they took so much last night it was ridiculous. I keep sending my local police reports and photos of as much as I can using the tipline and they never contact me back like they either ignoring, staying anonymous, or have no time to read my messages. They fuel is being stolen everytime I fill the tank by someone nearbye. The next issue is...
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the power steering malfunctioned causing the steering wheel to become very difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering pump hose had malfunctioned causing a power steering fluid leak. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
ECO system causes vehicle front end to shake when activated thought it was wheel balance and nothing front alignment and still does the same thing

WHEN STARTING OR PARKING CAR P/S DOES NOT WORK. ALSO LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN TURNING. HAD PRESSURE HOSE CHANGED. SITUATION GETTING WORSE AND IS BECOMING DANGEROUS. FROM MU MECHANIC AND THE INTERNET LEARNED THAT HONDA HAD SILENT RECALL BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED AND THAT RECALL WAS UP TO 100K. THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE AND A MANDATORY RECALL SHOULD BE LAUNCHED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME.
UPON ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE ON ALL ROADS THERE IS AN UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING. FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR FROM DRIVING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE,
VEHICLE STEERING IS STIFF ON SLOW TURNS AND PARKING. STEERING COLUMN VIBRATES AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. TIE RODS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. NEW TIRES, ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED. HIGH PITCHED SOUND ALSO COMES FROM STEERING COLUMN WHILE IDLING IN STATIONARY POSITION. MOISTURE APPEARS AROUND O-RING LEADING INTO THE STEERING FLUID PUMP. REGULAR MAINTENANCE HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED SINCE PURCHASE (NEW IN APRIL 2006). THE STEERING ISSUE CONCERNS ME AS THE 'SYMPTOMS' COME AND GO. I'VE TALKED WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE SAME MODEL/YEAR AND THEY EXPERIENCE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA OWES IT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY POWER STEERING PROBLEM. IT'S A COSTLY REPAIR THAT SEEMS TO BE PREVALENT IN QUITE A FEW 2006 ODYSSEY'S. SERVICE RECORDS FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE IN OWNERS POSSESSION.

HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE NEW (JULY 2006). VEHICLE/STEERING/WHEELS EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT VIBRATION AT 65 TO 70MPH. HAVE CHANGED TIRES, ALL SUSPENSION PARTS AND NOTHING SEEMS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. BEEN GOING ON SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW. HAVE BEEN TO DEALERSHIP MANY MANY TIMES AND SPENT A LOT OF MONEY BASED ON DEALERSHIP SERVICE RECOMMENDATION BUT STILL PROBLEM PERSISTS. THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND HONDA NEEDS TO ISSUE RECALL FOR THIS GENERATION OF ODYSSEYS AS I HAVE READ ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH MANY OWNERS OF THIS SAME TYPE VEHICLE.

DURING 9/2009, I WAS INFORMED BY OTHER DRIVER'S OF MY HONDA ODYSSEY 2006 OF DIFFICULTY TURNING MY STEERING WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS. I WONDERED ABOUT IT AND BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT I ALSO HAD DIFFICULTY TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS ESPECIALLY WHILE ENTERING OR LEAVING A PARKING SPACE. IN 9/2011, I HAD THE STEERING EXAMINED AND WAS TOLD BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IS INOPERABLE AT LOW SPEEDS. APPARENTLY, AMERICAN HONDA ISSUED A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THIS ISSUE OF WHICH I WAS NOT INFORMED. THIS WARRANTY EXTENDED THE TIME FRAME FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP TO 100,000 MILES OR 7 YEARS. BY 2011, I HAD 160,602 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS CLOSER TO THE 100,000 MILE MARK BACK IN 2009. IN 2012, I WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER CAR REPAIR SHOP OF THE WARRANTY EXTENSION WITH ENCOURAGEMENT...
WHILE DRIVING IN LIGHT RAIN, MY STEERING COMPLETELY FROZE. I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT STEER AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. I SPOKE WITH HONDA INTERNATIONAL AFTER HEARING FROM THE LOCAL DEALER THEY HAVE BEEN HEARING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. SO MUCH SO, THAT A MECHANIC FROM THE SHOP WAS FIXING CLIENTS CARS ON THE SIDE. HE STARTED INSTALLING SOME SORT OF SPLASH GUARD AFTER IT HAPPENED TO HIS WIFE'S ODYSSEY. I WAS TOLD BY HONDA INTERNATIONAL, NOT TO DRIVE WHEN THE ROAD IS WET. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILED AT CAR PARK, DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VAN OUT OF PARKING SPOT,POWER STEERING RESUMED WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. PROBLEM RECURRED MULTIPLE TIME USUALLY FROM STARTING THE VAN AND STEERING IT OUT OF PARKING SPOT. THIS CONTINUES TO BE AN ON-GOING ISSUE AND IS HAPPENING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND AT VARIOUS TIMES. NOT JUST IN PARKING LOTS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE TURNS IN NORMAL DRIVING SETTINGS. WHILE THERE IS ALREADY A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED CONCERNING PROBLEM (BULLETIN #: 11-039). THE RESPONSE BY HONDA IS NOT ADEQUATE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO TURN AT LOW SPEEDS (SUCH AS TURNING INTO AND OUT OF PARKING SPOTS). ALTHOUGH THIS DEFECT WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP ONLY OCCURS AT LOW SPEEDS IT STILL A SAFETY ISSUE. THE FACT THAT IS VERY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL CAN REASONABLE LEAD TO PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT SUCH AS PEDESTRIAN BECOMING PINNED AGAINST A CAR. HONDA EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART TO 7 YEARS / 100,000 MILES. I HAVE UNDER 80,000 MILES ON MY CAR BUT HONDA CLAIMS I AM A FEW MONTHS BEYOND THE 7 YEAR DATE. THE POWER STEERING PUMP IN OUR ODYSSEY STARTED MAKING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE, AND AT SOME LATER TIME, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE STEERING PUMP NOISE WAS INTERMITTENT, AND OCCURRED AT LOW AND IDLE SPEEDS ONLY. THERE WAS NEVER A LOSS OF STEERING CAPABILITY, BUT THE SHIMMY IN THE STEERING WHEEL LEADS TO DRIVER DISCOMFORT AND DRIVER FATIGUE. HONDA HAS SINCE REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AT A REDUCED COST TO US, BUT THE NEW PUMP HAS NOT SOLVED THE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMY. THE SHIMMY IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE EFFECTS OF A BENT WHEEL OR A OUT OF BALANCE TIRE, BUT DIFFERENT WHEELS AND DIFFERENT TIRES, IN ADDITION TO MULTIPLE TIRE RE-BALANCES HAVE FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DRIVING ON A MAJOR 4 LANE HIGHWAY @ APPROX. SPEED OF 70. SUDDENLY THE STEERING WENT OUT OF CONTROL. IT WAS LOOSE,BUT I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL. THE ROAD WAS DRY,TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 70 DEGREES. FORTUNATELY,I WAS ABLE TO GLIDE TO A GRASSY MEDIAN STRIP WITHOUT HITTING ANYBODY,OR HAVE THEM HIT ME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL GARAGE. THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM. TOOK VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALER KNOWING OTHER 2006 HONDA ODYSSEYS HAD POWER STEERING PROBLEMS AND THAT THE WARRANTY ON JUST THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO 7 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES. I HOPED THE ISSUE WAS JUST THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER IT. OF COURSE NOT! THE PROBLEM IS APPARENTLY IN THE STEERING RACK AND WILL REQUIRE $1,200+ IN REPAIRS FOR A NEW ONE OR THE VAN WILL BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT THEY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PUMP BUT NOT ON THE STEERING RACK. SINCE I DON'T WANT TO LOSE STEERING WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, I AM FORCED TO HAVE THIS DEFECTIVE PART REPAIRED AT MY OWN COST. WITH ONLY 55,000 MILES ON THE VAN, THIS IS NOT THE KIND...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID TO THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUED TO EXHIBIT THE NOISE WHEN TURNING, WHICH WAS SIMILAR TO A MOTOR SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP MIDWAY INTO STEERING WHEN TURNING. THIS HAPPENED TWICE TODAY. YOU HAVE TO STEERING IT OTHER WAY OR LOOSENS UP AFTER FEW SECONDS. I HAVE HAD THE RECALL SERVICE ALREADY PERFORMED REGARDING RECENT HARD TO STEER AT LOW SPEED. NOW IT COMPLETELY LOCKS UP - MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO MOVE WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EVERY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
ENGINE WHINES AND SHAKES STEERING WHEEL. FIRST AT 70000 MILES. CHECKED AND ADDED PS FLUID. WORKED FOR A WHILE. 73K STARTED AGAIN. ADDED MORE FLUID. 75K REPLACED DRIVE BELT. 80K NOTICED INCREASED NOISE (WHINING), BUT NO SHAKING OF THE WHEEL. BROUGHT INTO DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH OTHERS AND HONDA EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 7 YEARS, BUT NO RECALL. MECHANIC STATED THAT AT HIGH SPEEDS (HWY), PS PUMP SEAL COULD FAIL, LEAK AND CAUSE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. CALLED HONDA USA AND THEY SAID YES TO WARRANTY, BUT NO TO SAFETY CAMPAIGN- HOW CAN THEY BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE! *TR
WHILE DRIVING 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AT HIGHWAY SPEED NOTICEABLE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMY WHILE ACCELERATING AND COASTING. CHANGED WHEELS TIRES POWERSTEERING PUMP ROTATION OF TIRES BRAKE ROTORS AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED. ALL TIRES WERE BALANCED. *KB

MY HONDA ODYSSEY HAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. IT HAS AN INCONSISTENT BUZZ, WHINE, HUM THAT CAN BE HEARD PREDOMINANTLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. AT TIMES, THE STEERING BECOMES TIGHT MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE SERVICE BULLETINS: TSB 2007 FOR THE STEERING RESERVOIR, AND TSB 2010 FOR THE STEERING PUMP. I WILL BE CALLING THE LOCAL DEALER WITH HOPES OF CORRECTING A POOR DESIGN BY HONDA. *TR
OCCASIONALLY DURING HEAVY RAIN, WE LOOSE OUR POWER STEERING FOR A PERIOD OF 20-45 SECONDS OR MORE. AT THE SAME TIME THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS UP. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURS. FORTUNATELY IT HAS NOT HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT AS OF YET. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE AMERICAN HONDA DATED SUMMER 2011, REGARDING THE WARRANTY EXTENSION OF THE "STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO TURN AT LOW SPEEDS AND ENGINE RPM." THE TERM IS UP TO 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. I BOUGHT MY VAN IN AUGUST OF 2006, HOWEVER, SINCE I DRIVE ALMOST 100 MILES A DAY (HOME TO WORK), I HAVE MORE THAN 100,000. EVERY TIME IT IS RAINING AND CAR GOES THROUGH A PUDDLE THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR LOOSES POWER STEERING. HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WHEN GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS NOT RAINING AT THE TIME. THEY STATED THEY COULD REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP & RESERVOIR AND IT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING ON QUITE A FEW OF THE HONDA VEHICLES.
