The power sliding door on my driver's side completely fell off. This is due to a faulty hinge with plastic rollers that was I told totally disentgrate after being used normally. This hinge is located at back part of sliding door. I had no warning in any way. There was no warning lights or any sounds of any kind that told me something was wrong. I was closing my door after loading my groceries into my vehicle when the door literally fell off hinges and onto me. Luckily, it was me and not one of my children as I could just barely bear that weight and ended up hurting my back and shoulder because of it. There is no way that they could have, it would have crushed them! My vehicle is available to view issue at request. Please check into this it definitely needs to be recalled and fixed...
Both of the automatic sliding doors have came off tracks and fell off and will not close all the way it seems the door is only in place with a wire that supports the sliding component and has fallen off and the doors now are only supported by a single top track and this is a safety issue due to passengers riding in the van and if this falls off going down the road it could cause a accident
Van doors opened by themselves going 60 down the highway while my children were in the vehicle. Happened 3 separate times.
The sliding door on the driver side has had trouble latching. It has repeatedly caused the battery to drain and has been previously repaired at an independent service center. On 7/16/21, the same sliding door wouldn't close and fell off. The slider center wheel detached causing the door to fall off the track. This resulted in body damage to the side of the vehicle as well as the door needing to be repaired. The vehicle is currently at a body shop, an independent service center. There were no warning lamps on. The door could have injured myself or my son but fortunately we were able to catch it.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE FRONT THE HOUSE AND ITS JUST CAUGHT FIRE WE CALLED THE EMERGENCY AND THE FIRE TRUCK THE MAKE REPORT BUT THE POLICE DIDN'T MAKE ANY REPORT

MY PASSENGER DOORS STOPPED OPENING BY BUTTON AND HANDLE, TURNING SIGNALS, BRIGHTS, DASH SIGNALS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, DOOR LOCKS, HORN. ALL STOP WORKING WHENEVER THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT AND MORE THEN A COUPLE DON'T WORK AT SAME TIME. DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SEATBELT DOESNT STAY TIGHT FOR MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT ABD UNABLE TO USE OTHER SEAT AS THAT DOOR DOESNT WORK AT ALL ANYMORE. THE STEERING IS ALSO VERY DIFFICULT WHEN TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE TO USE ALL STRENGTH FROM BOTH ARMS TO PULL THE WHEEL INTO THE DIRECTION I NEED THE CAR TO GO
I GOT MY KIDS OUT OF THE VAN AND WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR WHEN I WAS CLOSING THE DOOR IT FELL OFF IN MY HAND LUCKILY ONE OF MY CHILDREN WEREN'T CLOSING THE DOOR AS IT WOULD HAVE CRUSHED THEM
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING FREEZING UP ON SLOW TURNS AND THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH IS STUCK MAKING THE CAR TRANSMISSION HEAT UP AND QUIT UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN, I WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD 4X FOR THIS. ONCE WITH MY 97 YR OLD BROTHER IN LAW AND 79 YR OLD SISTER.THEY WANT $4000 TO FIX THIS. THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE BROKE ALSO.I HAD THE RUN FLAT PAX TIRES ON IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED, I WAS NOT TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AT LEAST 100 TO 200 MILES TO GET THEM CHANGED OUT AS THEY NEED A SPECIAL MACHINE TO FIX THEM. I HAD TO BUY NEW RIMS AND TIRES FOR $1500. I HAVE 125,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND A HONDA TO ANYONE.
DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR FELL OFF. HAD JUST PARKED. NO PREVIOUS ISSUE, JUST CAME OFF THE TRACKS AND FELL ON ME AS IT OPENED. VERY ALARMING AS MY TODDLER WAS SITTING IN THERE IN HER CAR SEAT. I'VE NOW HAD TO WAIT IN 108 DEGREE HEAT WAITING FOR A MOBILE MECHANIC. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH ALL ODYSSEY'S AND REALLY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
FOR STARTERS I HAD TRANSMISSION REBUIT AND ITS NEEDS REPLACED AGAIN THIS IS AT 120000 MILES THEN AT 135000 MILES. I HAVENT GOT IT REPLACED YET, BUT MY MECHANIC GAVE ME THE WARNING. ALSO SAID ALL ODYSSEYS TRANSMISSIONS FAIL.LIKE ITS A ONGOING PROBLEM. NUMBER 2. MY PASSENGERFRONT DOOR GETS STUCK AND YOU CANT OPEN OT EVEN THOUGH ITS UNLOCKED. 3..THE MIDDLE SEAT SECOND ROW THE SMALL SEAT THAT UNLATCHES, UNLATCHES WHILE DRIVING.

THE 2 SLIDING DOORS OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. THE DOOR CLOSES AND LATCHES BUT BECOMES UNLATCHED WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE ONLINE. WHEN WE CONTACT HONDA THEY SAY IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND THEY WON'T FIX IT WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR IT BECAUSE MY VAN IS OUT OF WARRANTY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
THERE IS RUST OVER THE REAR WHEELS ON BOTH SIDES. I HAVE SEEN THIS ON ALMOST EVERY SINGLE SIMILAR HONDA ODYSSEY, SAME MODEL AS THE 2006 MODEL I OWN. THE RUST IS ON THE BODY PANELS IMMEDIATELY OVER THE REAR WHEELS, ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDES. THIS HAS HAPPENED GRADUALLY, AND OCCURS ON NO OTHER PART OF THE VEHICLE, SO IT IS A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE.
PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT OPEN. IF OPENED DOES NOT CLOSE AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT, IT TAKES ATLEAST 3-4 ATTEMPT TO CLOSE OR OPEN. SLIDING DOOR LIGHT IS ON.
THE BACK DOORS IN THE CAR DO NOT LATCH PROPERLY. ONE DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING AND THE OTHER ONLY LATCHES ON ONE SIDE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR STRUTS THAT HELD THE DOOR SUDDENLY FAILED AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY OPENED OR CLOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTHEASTERN HONDA (LOCATED AT 3125 DIXIE HIGHWAY NE PALM BAY, FL 32905) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
THIS VAN HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATING NIGHTMARE. BESIDES THE PAX SYSTEM TIRE ISSUES, WE HAVE HAD TO FIX BOTH SLIDING DOORS BECAUSE THEY FELL OFF. LAST SUMMER THE DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE, THEN IT FELL OFF THE TRACK WHILE I WAS OUT SHOPPING WITH MY KIDS. MY HUSBAND CAME WITH SOME TOOLS AND HELPED TO GET IT CLOSED SO WE COULD TAKE IT TO THE AUTO SHOP. IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE FIX NOT TO MENTION THE DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR. YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS AT THE LIBRARY WITH FOUR OF MY CHILDREN ( 8,6,3, AND A BABY) THE OTHER DOOR CAME OFF THE TRACK. THIS TIME, MY HUSBAND WAS NOT AROUND TO COME HELP US ( HE IS DEPLOYED SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN). WE HAD TO GET THE VAN TOWED, AND THE DOOR STAYED OPEN ALL NIGHT BECAUSE THE SHOP WAS CLOSED. WHILE THERE, ONE OF THE MEN WORKING SAID HE IS...
TAKATA RECALL. MY HONDA VAN HAS BEEN LOSING PAINT FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW AND ITS GETTING WORSE. I HAVE BIG SPOTS ON MY ROOF, HOOD AND SLIDING DOORS. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE FIXED ASAP.
THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF FROM THE HOOD, SIDE AND THE ROOP. SPECIALLY, LAST SUNDAY, WE HAD A HEAVY RAIN AND THE SNOW. AFTER THAT DAY. THE PEELING PART TOTALLY PEELED OFF. IT LOOKS BAD(GROSS).

THE SUB-FRAME, RR ASSEMBLY GOT SO SEVERELY CORRODED THAT IT HAS CRACKS AND FRACTURES AND NOW THERE IS A SMALL HOLE IN IT WHICH IS DEEMED AS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WE CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE COST TO REPAIR IT IS MORE THAN HALF MY VEHICLE VALUE AT THIS POINT. WHAT IS PRETTY INTERESTING IS THAT THE HONDA DEALERS DON'T STOCK THE PART (50300-SHJ-A01) AND CAN'T REALLY SAY IF OR WHEN THEY CAN GET THE PART. MORE THAN A COUPLE OF THEM HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY'VE NEVER ORDERED THIS PART BEFORE, WHICH LEADS ME TO ASSUME THAT THIS COULD NOT BE A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FAILURE. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY WILL NOT RELY ON A 3RD PARTY (MY TRUSTED & REPUTED LOCAL MECHANIC) OPINION AND WOULD LIKE ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE, MOST LIKELY TOW IT, TO THE DEALER AT MY EXPENSE AND GET IT...
INTERIOR WATER LEAK FROM ROOF PANEL SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG. THIS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON JUNE 28,2016 FROM A DEALER. IT IS A USED CAR THAT IS NOT WARRANTY FROM THE DEALER. BUT WHEN IT IS RAINING, WATER LEAK FROM ROOF PANEL SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THREE YEARS LATER THE DOOR FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
HONDA HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PAINT ON AT LEAST A DOZEN DIFFERENT MODELS AND YEARS...EXCEPT MINE. THE PAINT ON MY HOOD AND ROOF STARTED CHIPPING AND PEELING AWAY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, AND NOW IT'S SPREAD TO MANY OF THE FENDER SEAMS, AS WELL AS SEAMS AND JOINTS ON THE ROOF. WHILE IT'S "ONLY PAINT"...WE ALL KNOW THAT RUST LEADS TO STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUES, HOLES AND CAN ALLOW WATER AND ELEMENTS IN TO DAMAGE THE ENGINE. SO, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS A "VISUAL" ISSUE. I'D LIKE HONDA TO ADDRESS THIS FOR OUR CAR.

AFTER HONDA HAVING THE CAR FOR 31 DAYS THE INSURANCE PAID THE REPAIRS & I PAID MY $500.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I'M READY TO DRIVE MY HONDA ODYSSEY AWAY ON 11/13/14, AND I NOTICE THE VAN BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE RPM'S DROPPED TO ALMOST 0. NO REPORT WAS GIVEN TO ME ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH VAN & WHAT FUTURE REPAIRS HAD TO BE DONE. MY 2006 ODYSSEY WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER 2ND ROW BY A VEHICLE THAT RAN A STOP SIGN AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE 2ND ROW PASSENGER SIDE. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE ODYSSEY TO SPIN AND WAS PUSHED AT LEAST 20 FEET BEFORE BEING STOPPED BY THE CURB. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND SHE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES- NO ONE WAS IN THE 2ND ROW THANKFULLY. WHEN I VIEWED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, AFTER INQUIRING FURTHER TO VERIFY THIS ASSUMPTION, I DISCOVERED THAT NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THIS. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND DID NOT. VAN HAS MANUAL SLIDING DOORS. UPON SHUTTING PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NORMALLY THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM EITHER THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR. CHILD SAFETY LOCK WAS OFF. LOCK MECHANISM WORKS NORMALLY BUT DOOR LATCH WILL NOT DISENGAGE. SIX MONTHS LATER AT 172000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE RESULTING IN A SEVEN PASSENGER VEHICLE WITH NO EGRESS FOR PASSENGERS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. UPON REMOVAL OF INTERIOR DOOR PANELS IT IS CLEAR THERE IS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE LATCH MECHANISM. ALL CABLES AND CONTROLS WORK NORMALLY BUT THE LATCHES HAVE FAILED. *TR
WHEN I WAS ON VACATION WITH MY FAMILY, THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. IT WOULD CLOSE PARTLY, BEGIN BEEPING AND REOPEN. WE HAD TO KEEP PRESSING THE CONTROL TO CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL IT FINALLY CLOSED. TWO DAYS BEFORE THAT, THE LIFTGATE STRUTS FAILED. THAT IS DISTURBING WHEN I THINK ABOUT HOW MY DAUGHTER WAS HELPING ME GET ITEMS OUT OF THE BACK. WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIRDLY, THE PAINT IS STRIPPING OFF ON PARTS OF THE BODY. CONSIDERING THE REPUTATION THAT HONDA IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE, IT IS UPSETTING TO HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH AN 8 YEAR OLD VEHICLE! NOW WE MUST DECIDE IF IT'S WORTH FIXING AND KEEPING OR TRADE IT IN FOR A TOYOTA. AFTER OPENING THE REAR HATCH THE STRUT(S) FAILED AND THE HATCH SLAMMED SHUT. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS IN THE WAY OF THE HATCH WHEN IT SLAMMED DOWN. *JS

THE STRUTS ON THE LIFTGATE OF MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY LX COMPLETELY FAILED IN NOVEMBER 2011 AT AROUND 40,000 MILES. THANKFULLY, THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS OPENING IT, SO NO ONE WAS UNDERNEATH IT YET. THE LIFTGATE IS EXTREMELY HEAVY AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY, ESPECIALLY TO A SMALL PERSON. WE REPLACED THE STRUTS WITH NEW HONDA PARTS PURCHASED FROM THE SAME HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOW APRIL 2013, NOT EVEN A YEAR AND HALF LATER, AND THE REPLACEMENT STRUTS HAVE ALSO FAILED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY HAVE NO ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO FROM HERE OTHER THAN REPLACE THE STRUTS WITH THE SAME PART THAT HAS FAILED TWICE NOW. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. GIVEN THE TRACK RECORD OF THE LIFTGATE STRUTS FOR THIS MODEL, I THINK IT'S PRETTY LIKELY THIS WILL HAPPEN...
BASED ON A REPORT TODAY THAT HONDA IS RECALLING 2003/2004 HONDA ODYSSEY WHERE THE ISSUE INVOLVES THE IGNITION INTERLOCK, A DEVICE INTENDED TO ENSURE THAT THE KEY CAN ONLY BE REMOVED WHEN A VEHICLE IS FIRMLY SHIFTED INTO PARK. I HAVE A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AND HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE IN 2010 WHERE AFTER PARKING AND REMOVING MY KEYS AND I GOT DOWN, THE VAN MOVED BACKWARDS AND THE MY FRONT DOOR HIT ANOTHER CAR IN THE PARKING LOT DAMAGING BOTH CARS, AND I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH UNITRIN DIRECT. THE RESULT BEING I HAVE A FAULT ACCIDENT RECORD ON MY LICENSE AND MY INSURANCE WENT UP FOR NO FAULT OF MINE. PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR FAILED TO DISENGAGE THE LOCK. HAD TO TAKE TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REMOVED THE DOOR PANEL AND REPLACED THE LATCH. SINCE THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN THEY HAD TO DO THIS FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ON 9/1/2012 THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR ALSO FAILED TO DISENGAGE THE LOCK. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS REPAIRED YET. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT. LUCKILY BOTH TIMES WE WERE PARKED, BUT IF IT HAD BEEN AN EMERGENCY VALUABLE TIME WOULD HAVE BEEN WASTED IN TRYING TO GET A NON-FUNCTIONING DOOR TO OPEN. *TR
MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY (WITH 45000 MILES) REAR LIFT GATE SUPPORTING STRUT(S) FAILED AND THE THE GATE BECAME SO HEAVY. LUCKILY THE FAILURE HAPPENED WHEN THE GATE WAS CLOSED. POWER LIFTGATE CLOSES UNEXPECTEDLY EVERY TIME IT IS OPENED ON MODEL YEAR 2006 ODYSSEY TOURING VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH POWER OPERATED REAR LIFTGATE. VEHICLE OWNER HIT IN HEAD BY CLOSING LIFTGATE.
