Problem with emissions system on my 2019 Honda CRV. Car was diagnosed and recommended to replace fuel injectors. This is a pervasive problem with Honda vehicles with a previous recall for Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline. Honda needs to recall any of their vehicles with this problem and fix it. In addition pervasive issues with their infotainment system which includes navigation. I have had the system go out when using the navigation option while in heavy traffic. Again both of these problems are well documented online with other owners but nothing being done by Honda to remedy either situation.
The vehicle began experiencing repeated engine misfires, hesitation, and loss of power during normal driving. The issue was diagnosed as failing fuel injectors, which is a known issue on this generation of Honda CR-V. The failure causes sudden hesitation and reduced engine power, particularly during acceleration and at intersections, creating a safety hazard in traffic. In some instances there was a strong fuel odor, raising concern for a potential fuel leak and fire risk. The injectors failed well before normal service life and required replacement. Honda has not issued a recall for many affected vehicles despite widespread reports of similar failures across multiple model years. This defect presents a safety risk due to possible engine stalling, loss of power, and potential fuel leakage.
The fuel injector valves started leaking resulting in a P0172 Rich Fuel mixture diagnostic code. When fuel injector valves leak gasoline into the engine oil it can cause an engine fire, severe damage to the engine and catalytic converter. My daughter was driving the car when this happened which makes me very upset that a known safety issue has not been addresses by the NHTSA or Honda. This effects millions of CRVs which is why Honda is fighting a recall and why the NHTSA must step in and fine Honda and force a recall. The potential for engines catching on fire should result in an immediate recall. When I talked to the Honda shop manager he told me that he is seeing several CRVs every week with faulty fuel injectors and quite frequently bad catalytic converters. This is a well-documented problem which makes me wonder why nothing has been done.
The fuel system is leaking from the top of the tank. Same problem that is happening to already recalled vehicles.
Shortly after parking car in garage and with garage door left open for ~ five minutes before closing, a strong fuel smell filled garage [where there are no other fuel sources]. Thoroughly inspected floor, on hands and knees, under car and there was no liquid on the floor. Toxic fuel smell unsafe for humans. Dealer could not duplicate issue yet said fuel mix ratio was out of specification yet just short of the tolerance to illuminate Engine Service Light. No other inspections have been made. Many online forums show 2019 CR-V owners with same symptoms and that Honda is investigating.
Idling rough code popping up P0172 dealer said it could be fuel injector bank 1 is to rich
Dealer inspected my 2019 Honda CR-V on 12/18/2025 and informed me that 3 of my 4 fuel injectors need to be replaced. When the problem occurred, my safety was at risk, and others could have been put at risk because the vehicle stalled and smoke came out, indicating something was burning. I visited the dealer for this problem because they replaced the defective/recalled fuel pump in January 2025. The smell of gas, stalling, and smoke indicated fuel problems associated with the original fuel pump recall. No warning lamps or messages or any other symptoms of the issue before the failure. This came out of nowhere. I had the vehicle serviced by the same dealer for an oil change during the Thanksgiving week, and the dealer did not report any issues to me. Shockingly, my vehicle is not on the recall list, since this is obviously a HONDA DEFECT and nothing...
My 2019 Honda CR-V, which has the 1.5 liter turbo engine, with 78,000 started up with the dashboard lit up like a xmas tree and reported approx. a dozen faults of all safety features EPB, LKAS, Emissions, etc. It was diagnosed by Lester Glenn Honda in Wall, NJ with oil dilution caused by the leaky fuel injectors. The mechanic noted TDC P0172 - System Too Rich & P0301- cylinder 1 misfire and all fuel injectors failed A/F test. This vehicle had its fuel pump replaced earlier this year pursuant to the Honda recall for this (wondering if related). The same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not included for my 2019 model year even though it's the same 1.5L Turbo motor and there are numerous complaints from customers on the same exact issue. I was quoted over $2300 since...
My 2019 Honda CR-V EXL has all dash warning lights on, and the diagnostic code causing the issue is for fuel injectors. Upon my research this is a very, very common issue with this year model. It is an expensive one, at that. I was driving when all warning lights came on, and my car lost power in the middle of a busy highway and would not accelerate. The car sputtered and lost power and the warning lights all come on simultaneously. I could have had a wreck because of faulty manufacturer parts that because of the expense, Honda refuses to admit are the problem and replace for the safety of their customers. As for the fuel pump recall, every single time I call my local dealership, they tell me the fuel pump parts are on back order!! I just want the faulty manufacturer parts on my car that I...
On November 14, 2025 my 2019 Honda CR-V, which has 1.5 liter turbo engine, with 60,400 miles was diagnosed by Williamsburg Honda with oil dilution caused by the injectors. The mechanic wrote "engine is running rich, falied cyclinder A/F test in cylinder #2, random misfire detected in all cylinders...engine oil is fuel fouled due to failed fuel injector." On November 17, 2025, Williamsburg Honda replaced the injectors. On 3 February 2025, this vehicle had its fuel pump replaced pursuant to NHTSA 23V-858.
Injector failure
All the dashboard warning lights came on. The car became shaky, wouldn’t go above 10mph. All safety features were turned off. I couldn’t go up a hill. Eventually I just parked it and had it towed. I tried a hard reset thinking maybe a glitch. Didn’t help.
I am reporting a severe safety defect involving the engine and fuel injector system that began two months ago at ≈108k miles (now 109k miles). I have not yet taken the vehicle in for service due to the estimated high repair cost of $2,900. It is critical to note that the same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not fixed for my 2019 model year. This indicates a persistent manufacturing or design flaw that warrants an immediate investigation into my model year. The defect manifests regularly, causing a Cylinder 2 Misfire (P0302) and making the engine run very rough with a sudden and severe loss of power. This creates a direct rear-end crash risk due to the inability to maintain a safe operating speed. More dangerously, when the misfire occurs, the vehicle instantly disables critical driver assistance systems—Adaptive Cruise...
the vehicle took a long time to start, was shaking and all warning lamps were on the dashboard. I took it to a Honda dealer and the code was P0087 Fuel Rail pressure too low. There was a recall for the lower pressure fuel pump, so they replaced it, but they are also claiming that the high pressure fuel pump needs to be replaced and is not under a recall. I see there is a a recall for 2023-2025 models, but not my vehicle (2019). I will be stuck with a $2,000 repair.
•What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? oThe component that was identified as the issue was the fuel injectors had a leak, causing them to not get enough fuel. •How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? oI was told by the dealership that if not fixed, the leak would get bigger over time and could cause the engine to stall. I was told by the dealership that they were seeing more and more of these cases and had replaced the injectors on a year-old model the prior week to recommending the replacement for our vehicle. •Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? oI took the vehicle into our local Honda dealership to have them diagnose the cause. •Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives,...
My car’s warning lights simultaneously come on. After a couple of weeks, they will go off and then once again come on. This has been happening for over a year now. Today I tried to drive and the car shook but would not accelerate. Once I turned it off and back on, the lights were still on but it did go forward. I have noticed many recalls for the Honda CRV but my VIN is not listed in the recall. It seems to me based on the other recalls, mine should be recalled as well. I have only 54,000 miles on my CRV.
To Whom It May Concern, While driving my 2019 Honda CR-V AWD EX, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard, including the Check Engine Light, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), TPMS, and Collision Mitigation System. This has occurred multiple times and appears to be a well-documented issue among other Honda CR-V owners. The dealer diagnosed a faulty fuel injector system (Code P0172 – System Too Rich) and recommended a full injector replacement. This issue matches known cases addressed under Honda TSB 19-072, but is not currently covered under a full recall. The sudden illumination of all warning lights, combined with reduced power, is a serious safety concern as it may cause loss of control or delayed response in critical traffic situations. We have been quoted between $1,200 and $2,500 to repair this issue, which is a significant expense for a defect Honda is already aware of. I believe this is...
I was traveling on the highway when suddenly my car started shuddering and slowing down. It was heavy traffic and difficult to navigate to the right shoulder, and my car was nearly hit by a semi-truck. The engine was misfiring and the engine light blinking yellow. I was able to turn off and restart my car and make it home. The mechanic initially thought the issue was old spark plugs and ignition coils. Replacing them didn’t help. I was again on a highway when the issue happened again. I brought the car to the dealership and they said the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. I spent over $2k to replace them on 7/7/25. The problem hasn’t happened since.
The fuel injectors on my 2019 CR-V need to be replaced at 68k miles. This is a known issue with recall. While fuel injectors are not "safety" items themselves - when there is a fuel injector issue (as has been reported here on this website and other websites a significant amount of times), numerous safety features of the CR-V are disabled by the issue directly related to the fuel injector issue. A listing of some of those safety related items that are disabled by the fuel injector problem are: - Adaptive Cruise control - Collision Mitigation - Road Departure Mitigation - Vehicle Stability Assist - Hill Start Assist - Electric Parking Brake - Tire Pressure Monitoring. Additionally, some CR-V's have reported being put in limp mode while on the highway, which very well could be a safety related issue; especially to younger and older drivers not used to a car...
I took my car to Diamond Valley Honda in Hemet to do a recall service for the fuel pump. When I got home, I noticed there was a fuel leak underneath the car coming from under the fuel tank. I have videos of the fuel leak. This is very dangerous to drive. I am lucky that I got home safely. I called Diamond Valley Honda and informed them about the issue. They refused to do anything. What can I do?
When I went to turn on my car, on May 15, 2025, all my warning lights started flashing. It stated multiple system failures and my car started sputtering a bit. I attempted to drive it that way because I really needed to get to work. I was able to get to work but was driving very slow because I had my son with me. When school let out I started my car and all the system failure lights started flashing again. The car started sputtering and shaking again. When I went to leave my school’s parking lot I pressed on the gas pedal and my car barely moved. This happened on a busy street causing the cars behind me to brake quickly since I had no power to get out of their way. I thought I was going to get rear ended with my son in the backseat. I was...
The fuel injectors are failing at 55 to 62k miles. The car experiences a loss of steering wheel functioning components related to the driver assist, and multiple warning lights appear on the dash for a period of a few days, then they suddenly disappear. There are slight hesitations in the automobile's acceleration, and this puts my family at risk during operation. The fuel pumps in the 2019 were replaced under recall but they failed to include the fuel rail and injectors and the pump we believe may have more pressure than the rail as and injectors were designed to handle and this shortens the life cycle of the part. The dealership diagnosed this problem and acknowledges that these same components have failed on other models and have settled lawsuits by extending the warranty periods to fix the injectors on certain less popular and lower sales volume models, but did not...
A fuel injector issue disables KEY safety features of our CR-V's when it occurs. (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...) Check Engine light comes on. All warning lights are turned on randomly (Electronic brake system, TPMS, Hill Climb assist, etc) remain on for some time (a few minutes, hours, days), and then all of these warnings vanishes after some time and driving a few miles (this also varies, sometimes warning stays for multiple days. I don't know if the car is dangerous to drive or not with EVERYTHING flashing and beeping.
My 2019 honda crv has been in and out of shops since April 1st. On april 1st lights popped on on my dashboard the lights were break system lights. All wheel drive system lights, and then the lane keep assist adaptive cruise ect were on and not operational. I looked up what could cause that to happen and it stated rear differential fluid could pop lights on. I took it to the dealership and stated it felt like it was running funny but the lights all went off before I got there but if they could do the rear diff fluid and run diagnostic just to be safe that'd be great. Diagnostic found nothing wrong g with my vehicle. A few days later the same lights came on and then multiple other lights came on, my boyfriend stated it could be electrical maybe spark plugs so we bought them and...
Engine RPM surged while nose- in parking with foot on brake, causing vehicle to unexpectedly jump the parking barrier and hit a steel sign post, incurring $3,300 cosmetic damage to left front of vehicle. Pressed harder on brake to stop. Cost estimate obtained, complaint filed with American Honda.
Honda is not completing this recall in a reasonable manner, and despite claiming parts are available they are not. After two years of delays, and now threats that our registration will be not renewed if we do not perform the recall, Honda still does not have the parts. Furthermore, they want you to bring in the car, have it inspected, after which they will decide if they want to replace the part. The inspection is being done because the fuel pump may crack due to poor manufacturing practices; however, after an inspection they will not actually fix the defective part if they do not find a crack. This will surely result in failures later when the defective part eventually fails. In their process, some time after the inspection and after some time ordering it and receiving it, they will replace it, at their discretion. This is wholly absurd, and I...
The fuel injectors on my vehicle at 99000 seemed to turn all warning lights on my dashboard. There was no issues with my vehicle, I got an emissions test done, then 5 minutes later driving away all warning lights came on my dashboard. I brought to orielys autoparts and had the computer scanned, and it turned out the fuel was too rich in bank one. This is the second vehicle I had that had fo have fuel injectors replaced under 100k miles. My first was a honda civic LX with 88k miles and now this one. The vehicle is currently at a shop about to be repaired. The danger is that all dashlights came on while driving. The vehicle was inspected at schaumburg Honda. My vehicle has recently had the fuel pump recall fix, and then it was installed incorrectly. I have read several honda forums where the same thing...
In August 2021, Honda’s records indicate that the fuel pump motor recall on my 2019 Honda CR-V was completed. However, I just discovered that they falsely documented that they did it. When I have been calling and asking them to fix my recall, all they could tell me was that there is no recall under my VIN number. That’s because they put it in their system as already completed—without ever informing me. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because a faulty fuel pump can cause engine stalling, power loss, or complete failure while driving, which could lead to an accident. I have experienced this issue firsthand—my car has stalled, lost power, and completely failed while I was driving, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with my kids. I brought this issue to Honda’s attention, but they have not provided an adequate resolution...
Good afternoon, My 2019 Honda CR-V suddenly displayed all warnings on the dashboard while operating the vehicle. The warnings remained but would sometimes disappear. However, while driving the vehicle on [XXX], the vehicle suddenly decelerated and was unable to accelerate while driving in traffic. Given any other situation or position of my car on the road, an accident would have occurred. On March 12, 2025, my 2019 Honda CR-V was repaired by Pearson Honda. Pearson Honda determined that the 2019 Honda CR-V had fault fuel injectors, and the fuel injectors were placed. The 2019 Honda CR-V had 66,888 miles at the time of service. As you're likely aware, recalls have been issued on various other Honda Models relating to issues with the fuel injectors. Additionally, there is an abundance of online forum posts highlighting the issue and likely other NHTSA stating the same: - [XXX] (User ALY1337 noting that fuel...
I've had 3 incidents in the past 60 days where the car has been parked with shut off the engine, only to come back hours later and find the electric fuel pump in the gas tank running. When this happens, I start up the car then shut it off and then the pump is no longer running. I can't say whether the pump sometimes doesn't get shut off when the car is parked or if the pump somehow comes back on on it's own later after the car has been parked. The pump makes a very quiet buzzing sound when it running. It's very hard to hear unless the car is in a quiet place. The first two times I heard the pump running the car was parked in my garage. Yesterday, my wife parked it in front of our home around 8:00 am. Around 11:00 am I got onto...
Car stalls and won't accelerate. It loses power and check engine light came on. Dealer replaced fuel injectors and on the way home from dealer, it stalled again. Dealer replaced a spark plug and it worked for 2 days and again stalled. Maybe the fuel pump recall is affecting this vehicle too.
When I started up my car all warning signs popped up. I went to the dealer and they said my five year old car that has 57,000 miles needed new fuel injectors. I purchased the car in 2020 it was a brand new leftover. I am reading online that MANY other CRV owners are experiencing the same issue. This is not okay, I had to spend over $2,500 to get this fixed. Obviously something is terribly wrong and Honda should be taking care of this issue. I was just denied help through Honda. Please look into this issue I’m not the only dissatisfied customer.
I started to get errors that there was an issue with my vehicles fuel injector, indicating that it was too rich and thus disabling all my safety features. I am not the only CR-V to experience fuel injectors failing for this model. Even at my dealership, the week i went in for mine, another customer with the same make, model and milage had the same issue and had to have all their fuel injectors replaced. I know that the fuel pump was already identified but i feel that the issue was bigger than that.
I was driving in I-694 to dealer for a scheduled oil change when all of the warning lights came on at once and I lost ability to accelerate. This was frightening and dangerous. I was surrounded by many vehicles, including semis. There were no advanced warnings. The dealer diagnosed turbo and engine failure. I brought the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a second opinion, and he stated that there was a large quantity of fuel in the engine oil. I had brought my vehicle to the Honda dealer for maintenance over the prior three year period, and was never advised that I needed to check the turbo, that it could fail, or that I needed more frequent oil changes. I have since discovered that Honda is aware of this engine defect that causes fuel to mix with the oil, which then can cause premature engine failure, but they refuse...
In February 2024 we received a safety recall from Honda stating the fuel pump could prevent an engine from starting, cause a vehicle to lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. I receive emails from Honda telling me the recall has not been completed. I booked an appointment and brought my car in just to be told parts are still not available. Why is Honda allowed to continue to build new cars where there are so many of these existing vehicles that can't be repaired. It just seems they are slow walking this in the hope that people will just give up.
My CRV 2019 EX Honda is losing power while drivng. It is very concerning since it is happening very often and it can reduce all of a sudden the speed while driving on a highway. I have to stop the car, turn off and then on again to continue. I went to see if there was a recall, but no recall for my car. They say I should change the gas cap but I am not sure that will solve the problem since I’ve heard it can be a software.
In February 2024 we received a safety recall from Honda stating the fuel pump could prevent an engine from starting, cause a vehicle to lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. It has been a year and we have not received any notice of replacement parts. Honda is producing new cars but cannot correct a problem with a 2019 car?!!! It should not take a year to correct this problem. The car could stop while driving and cause a crash and injury.
Went 12/21/24 Coggin Honda Orlando for oil change and they also do safety recall campaign fuel pump motor. After replacement still with problem worst because have problem starting the vehicle. When for 2 time they fix pinched o-ring, get the car worse this time my car shut off when backing up. When 3 time they change again fuel pump this time inside the car smell too much gasoline have drive back home with windows down and car also turn off in the highway at 60 miles putting me and my family at risk of an accident im highway plus smell gasoline got my throat sore.
The vehicle stalls when driving and breaks suddenly. The dealership said that there was a problem with the fuel pump similar to other recalls but this vin is not included in the recall
While driving on the highway, the vehicle went into limp mode then the engine light came on. Luckily I was able to pull off to the shoulder. After bringing it to the dealership, P0087 was found and they did the fuel pump recall. This did not fix the problem, and it was found the high pressure fuel pump failed and it was not covered by the recall. After dealership fix the high pressure fuel pump, now they told me the fuel injector also failed.
My car starts hesitating, like it won't take gas. I can't get out of the way of other vehicles and almost got hit and my check engine light started flashing. I had to turn my car off and restart. The check engine light went away but it still sputtered and wouldn't take gas, I had to drive show. If I don't back off, the engine light comes on and flashes and I have to shut it off.
My car has been having fuel issues for the past few years. I found out some time ago that Honda recalled the fuel pump on my vehicle. Since I started having issues (well over 1 year ago) I have reached out to Honda numerous times only to be told that unless my vehicle stops driving they wont take in any other vehicle on this recall. That was fine when my vehicle was still driving. Around April 2024 my CRV stopped driving due to Fuel pump issues. I had to tow to my house. I have attempted to use the Honda location closest to my house, (Rapids Honda) Coon Rapids, MN. I have been told that they have no parts. have attempted to get me to pay for this service but when I attempt to get them to take my vehicle for the recall they will only take it if i...
Made an appointment after notification of recall 21V-215 with Roper Honda in Joplin, Missouri to have the part listed in the recall replaced. Was told part was not available, but as soon as it became available I would be contacted. It has been two years. When receiving regular maintenance for the vehicle earlier this year (2024), I again asked about the availability of the recalled part. I was told that I would receive a letter this fall regarding when to bring my vehicle in to have the recalled part replaced. I have not, as of November 7, 2024, received said letter.
Tried to get this recall completed for about 11 months now at two different McGrath honda dealers and they continue to say they do not have the parts even when check engine light was on.
I have contacted my local Honda dealer about this issue months ago and the recall and they said they did not have parts available yet. I have always kept my maintenance up since I bought it new. On the way home the other night all of a sudden my turbo charger blew and took out my catalytic converter along with it. I was told this was a $8000 repair!!!! It only has 135,000 on the car. I have read and spoke to many people that stated that the fuel pump issues can cause this! I am so upset by all of this. I should not have to pay for this NOR is this safe!
As I was attempting to quickly accelerate to merge onto the freeway my vehicle experienced extreme hesitation and engine misfires. All my dash warning lights were then illuminated. My vehicle nearly came to a stop. This nearly caused me to be rearended by vehicles on the freeway especially an 18-wheeler that was quickly approaching to my rear. I limped onto the side median where I stopped my vehicle turned it off and then restarted it. It restarted but all the warning lights were still illuminated. I managed to drive slowly to my dealership where my vehicle had just been around two weeks prior for a similar incident (only the one engine warning light was illuminated) where they replaced my fuel pump under recall. On my latest incident they did a diagnostic check, and it displayed DTC codes P0172, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0304, multiple cylinder misfires and fuel rail pressure too...
The fuel pump allegedly is on recall, but other issues are underlying that Honda is aware of but won't go public. My emergency braking system alerts but there is no car in front of me. The pump stalls the car to where it won't go above 20mph, and the car does not shift gears when it stalls. Honda has no answer my car has been down since 06/2023 it is a one car family, I have wasted and depleted mu funds on a rental car and Honda has no answer for me. My safety was at risk as the car stall and slowed down mid speed on the highway. All the lights appeared on the dashboard.
When I entered my license plate info (State: MS Plate: [XXX] ) on NHTSA the recall notice I received from Honda is alerted on this site, however, when I entered VIN just a moment ago to file a complaint against the manufacturer dealership failure to assist me, the recall does not pull with this complaint. After months of trying to get the right person to help schedule my recall service, I finally received a call back from Kyle at the dealership, Patty Peck Honda, Ridgeland, MS who stated the fuel pumps are on a national back order may get some in next fall (was not sure). He also told me Honda would send out another letter once the parts are available (the original recall notice only mentioned limited supply for customers experiencing issues and did not reference ANYTHING about another notice!). I explained to Kyle that I am having issues...
Need to add the 2nd recall notice from Honda dated 5/2024 to my open complaint number 11607308 submitted 8/8/24 1:41PM that supports my claim. See attached
[XXX] Saturday at [XXX] while driving at about 50 MPH onto [XXX] toward [XXX] , My Honda CRV 2019 suddenly stalled, all alarms setup, beeping on the dashboard, while I was puzzling what was happening, the car behind us almost slammed into our car, narrowly missed by sudden turned to my left hand side. We hit the Emergency Light immediately, then pull over to the side, and immediately called my favorite Honda Mall of Georgia Dealership (HMGD), Buford, GA the lady was very nice after she heard the incident, gave us the name and mentioned to contact Service Manager directly first thing on Monday, also scheduled us to checkup on 7/24/2024 . Me and my wife called the office again on Monday 7/22/2024 11:15 AM, to reiterate the dangerous incident which occurred two days ago. However, Service Manager was away from the office, after a few minutes, the Assistant Manager...
