Hello, I have a recall for the corrosion on my Honda CRV 2008, American Honda already has everything on file from the dealer ship I took to get it inspected and is been a whole month and American Honda hasn’t reached out to me. I have been asking American Honda if I could get a loaner car or rental as the service manager at the dealership has said he cannot provide a rental until American Honda authorized since obviously some one has to pay for it. And I’m just reaching out if you guys could help me anyway to help me get this sorted out, dealership has already told me the car is un repairable at this point due to the bad corrosion and American Honda has acknowledged that and said someone from the median department or something like that was gonna reach out to me that was 2 weeks...
This is a complaint in reference to a current recall for the rear rust and corrosion issues on Honda CRvs, Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-228. I brought my vehicle to Matt Burne Honda on January 7 2025 for this recall and they "inspected" and passed the vehicle, installed the brace, and said all was well as they handed me the keys. In early March I took the car in for its state inspection and it failed due to all of the rust/corrosion/frame rot on the rear of this vehicle. When I called Matt Burne to find out why they installed the brace on this vehicle with all that rust, and why they never even bothered to mention the rust to me, they said that for the recall to pass all they needed to do was remove the bolt for the trailing arm and that all the rust didn't matter,...
Two actuator for the doors were said to be replaced by the previous owner in 2015. However, all four of my actuators are not working. Sometimes, it unlocks by itself when driving and I have had issues at times when I am not able to unlock the door at all. This poses safety risk to not being able to get out at times from both inside and outside.
When i unlock the key fob and put hand break to park the driver side door makes a loud squeeky sound.
Evidence of corrosion on the rear trailing arms as described in the recent salt belt recall of 07-11 Honda CRV’s. Petition to expand the monitoring and repair scope of this recall to include the Appalachian regions of North Carolina and Tennessee as the use of road salt is also prevalent in these areas.
On October 9, 2022, I filed a complaint with NHTSA regarding this vehicle due to excessive and extreme rear frame corrosion. On May 6, 2023, my son was driving this vehicle and was involved in an incident while the vehicle was in motion. The rear subframe separated from the vehicle on the driver side. My son lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, my son was able to avoid a direct collision with oncoming traffic. On May 15, 2023, the vehicle was towed to Victory Honda in Monroe, Michigan. The vehicle was inspected, and we were assigned a case number (#13814983). We were promised a loaner vehicle (which has never been made available). As a result, my son had to resign his position at work because he lost his mode of transportation. I have called American Honda on a weekly basis requesting an update. I've been told our case is almost...
The rear frame of my CRV has corroded and deteriorated. The rear trailing arm is at risk of falling off and could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall paperwork I received from American Honda Motor Co. Inc. states, “Your Honda dealer will inspect the rear frame for corrosion. Depending on the extent of corrosion, the dealer may attach a support brace to the rear frame and/or repair the rear frame, for FREE. If the rear frame cannot be repaired, Honda may offer to repurchase the vehicle from you. If you paid out of pocket to have these specific recall repairs performed on your vehicle, you may be eligible for reimbursement.” I took my vehicle to Honda North for the repair. They attached the support brace, yet told me my vehicle is still unsafe to drive and refused to pass my vehicle for...
Door locks they lock and unlock by themselves and make a noise when locking. Also paint on car doors and back hood paling off car you see medal.
Door Not Latching Properly NHTSA Recall ID: 12V338000 My doors on my 2008 Problems with the CR-V door locks include: Door not latching properly Doors not unlocking Doors locking and unlocking on their own Was not made aware of the recall to fix this issue. I would like Honda to fix this issue for Free at my Delaership
Honda is aware of an issue affecting many CR-V's. Honda has recently issued a recall of the 2007-2011 model-year CR-V's in Canada for a rusting problem that could result in a rear suspension control arm separating from the vehicle. This recall applies to vehicles in all provinces from Ontario east, which experience heavy road salt usage and humid operating environments. Dealers were instructed to inspect the rear frame stiffeners and to apply corrosion protection. When a vehicle does not pass the inspection, Honda will offer to repurchase it. My son is 17 years old and is driving an affected CR-V. We live near Detroit in Michigan. I contacted Honda USA and lodged a complaint. I was given the following case #013293139 and instructed to set an appointment with a local Honda dealership for an inspection. Following the inspection, I was told and given a service invoice which stated, "SUBFRAME INSPECTION...
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the rear passenger's side frame stiffeners detached and separated from the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Additionally, the contact stated that the frame stiffeners were severely rusted. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 262,000.
This vehicle had a wheel separation while traveling at low speed. The right rear wheel separated from the car. The cause is excessive rust to the trailing arm and specifically to the subframe to which the trailing arm is attached. The car is available for inspection. I also have photographs that show the problem. The safety issue is clear. After separation the car cannot be controlled if in motion. This particular vehicle has not been inspected. The wheel separation was reported by me to Honda in North America, to "Chris" in "client relations." A case number was issued for my complaint, #00499145. An insurance claim was made, but the insurer denied the claim. My research shows that this model CRV has been recalled in Canada for this precise problem. In Canada, Honda states that this model CRV has "excessive" rust, leading to failure. Further, that the problem is not readily...
I had my car in the shop as I had an issue with my starter. The mechanic sent us photos as he found as serious problem with rust and corrosion around the rear axle. He thought it would be okay to drive home (not after that). He was wrong and the rear axle fell off. My dad was driving and as far as I know he is okay. I did research and it seems the Vins starting with 5 were made in Ohio (I bought the car in Ohio) and it the message boards are correct, were in the same batch as the Canadian ones they recalled. They have not recalled these in the U.S. for the rear axle but they did in Canada. Why? I drive my son every other weekend hours each way as his dad lives out of state. We travel I-65, I-70, and highways. We could...
THE ENTIRE VEHICLES PAINT IS BLOTCHY. AS IF ACID WAS MIXED IN WITH A BAD BATCH OF PAINT.
I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A LICENSED GARAGE TO BE INSPECTED.THEY TOLD ME THE REAR FRAME STIFFENERS IN MY VEHICLE ARE CORRODED AND WILL NOT PASS NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION. I WAS ALSO WARNED IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR AS THE REAR TIRE ATTACHES TO THE RUSTED OUT SPOT ON THE FRAME. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR THE REAR TIRE ASSEMBLY TO DETACH WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL IN CANADA FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM FOR THE YEARS 2007 TO 2011. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALL IN THE US.
2008 CR-V SUBFRAME/REAR CONTROL ARM RUSTED SO SEVERELY CAME APART WHILE DRIVING. VERY FORTUNATE THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT, THIS CAUSED SUDDEN LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. HAD TO BE TOWED AND IS NOW INOPERABLE AND UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THERE IS A RECALL IN CANADA TO ADDRESS THIS CONDITION, WHY NOT THE UNITED STATES? WE CONTACTED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO INQUIRE AND NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT GAVE NO WARNING. THE BODY IS NOT RUSTED.
THE SUNROOF HAS BECOME UNATTACHED AND ALSO I WASH AND WAX MY CAR I SEE OXIDATION IN THE PAINT
HELLO, THE FRONT RIGHT DOOR OF MY CAR DOESN'T UNLOCK AT ALL AND THE BACK LEFT DOOR DOESN'T LOCK. HONDA ALREADY HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE BUT THIS EXPIRED ON 2015. BECAUSE THE FRONT DOOR DOESN'T UNLOCK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE COST TO FIX IS VERY EXPENSIVE AS THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE DEASSEMBLED. THERE COST TO OPEN THE DOOR AND FIX IT IS ALMOST 500 DOLLARS. I HAVE CALLED HONDA BUT THEY ARE SAYING THE PRODUCT WARRANTY EXPIRED ON 2015.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED OR EITHER OPEN BY REMOTE OR MANUAL ALSO CAN'T BE OPEN OPEN. MY DAUGHTER WAS STUCK IN THE CAR COULDN'T GET OUT WHEN WE REALIZED THE PROBLEM 10 DAYS AGO. LUCKILY IT WAN'T AN EMERGENCY SITUATION OTHERWISE I COULDN'T IMAGE THAT. ALSO THE TRUNK LOCK HAS BEEN DEAD SINCE THEN. THE RIGHT RARE DOOR HAS VERY LOUD CLICKING NOISE WHEN I LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOOR. THAT RAISE A GREAT WORRY FOR ME IF THE REST OF DOOR WOULD BE DEAD IN THE FUTURE.
THE PASSAGE SIDE DOOR LOCK MAKES A SCARING NOISE WHEN LOCKING. DIAGNOSED BY A HONDA DEALER AS A DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH A PUBLISHED HONDA TSB (#14-084). I HAD TO PAY FOR REPLACING THE ACTUATOR (BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN OUT OF WARRANTY). IT IS NOT FAIR THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE DEFECTIVE PART USED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK AND OPEN.
RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK WILL NOT LOCK.. STATIONARY . SOMETIMES YOU CAN HEAR A CLICKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER IN 2015 BECAUSE THE DOOR ACTUATORS WERE UNDER RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOORS WERE WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO CLOSE AND LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POWAY HONDA (13747 POWAY RD, POWAY, CA 92084) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVER'S DOOR ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE OTHER DOOR ACTUATORS WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,225.
HONDA REPLACED BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAGS. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT APRIL 2017. I WAS BROADSIDED, DRIVERS DOOR WAS IMPACTED. MY HEAD WENT HROUGH THE DRIVERS WINDOW. NONE OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS INFLATED. THE BODY SHOP WAS DISTURBED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE BEEN IN PHYSICAL THERAPY SINCE THE ACCIDENT. THE VA HAS BEEN SUPPLYING MEDICAL TREATMENT. HONDA DENIED RESPONSIBILITY ALTHOUGH THEY NEVER SAW THE CAR. MY INSURANCE COMPANY PROGRESSIVE WILL NOT REPAIR THE FAULTY AIRBAGS BECAUSE THEY WERE FAULTY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. WESTPORT HONDA WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE CAR IS NOT INTERESTED IN TAKING IT AS A TRADE IN BECAUSE OF THE KNOWN AIRBAG PROBLEM. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I CAN'T SELL THE CAR WITHOUT REVEALING THE KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT WARNING INDICATING THE SIDE AIRBAGS...
REAR PASSENGER DOOR (RIGHT SIDE) BECAME TOTALLY LOCKED, WHICH AUTOMATICALLY ALSO LOCKED THE LIFT-UP REAR HATCH; THE DOOR LATCH HAD SEIZED. REPAIRS COST $461.03 (LABOR PORTION WAS $376.74) BEFORE A 10% DISCOUNT. THIS WAS THE 3RD OF THE 4 DOOR LATCHES TO REQUIRE REPLACEMENT, ONLY ONE OF THEM COVERED IN AN EARLIER RECALL. THE REMAINING FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ORIGINAL LATCH IS NOW MAKING LOUD NOISES AND COULD PROBABLY FAIL AT ANY TIME. THIS CURRENT REPORTED INCIDENT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE CAR STOPPED AND A PASSENGER TRIED TO EXIT ON A CITY STREET.
DRIVER WAS PARKED/IDLING IN PARKING LOT WHEN LOUD EXPLOSION HAPPENED. DRIVER THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD REAR ENDED HER. TWO BYSTANDERS WERE CONCERNED AND CAME OVER TO CHECK ON DRIVER. THEY SAID NO ONE HAD HIT HER. THEY FOUND A FILTER, GASKET AND A PIECE OF INSULATION UNDER THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION DRIVER SAW THAT THE FRONT BUMPER HAD PARTIALLY BLOWN OUT FROM THE CAR, IT WAS DETACHED UNDER THE HOOD, UNDER THE GRILL AND AROUND THE WHEEL WELL. ALSO A LARGE CHUNK OF WHEEL WELL IS MISSING. CAR WAS TOWED TO DRIVER'S MECHANIC. MECHANIC DETERMINED THE A/C COMPRESSOR EXPLODED, SUBSEQUENTLY BLOWING SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, RUINING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AS WELL AS CAUSING SAID BODY DAMAGE. MECHANIC ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE FILTER, GASKET AND SOCK HAD BLOWN OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR, THE BLAST FROM THE EXPLOSION WAS THE APPARENT CAUSE OF THE BODY DAMAGE. A COMPLETE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS FAILED TO LOCK. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER (FRANK BROWN HONDA) WHO STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT, DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING IN A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THE LOCKS AND NO FAILURE WAS FOUND, THE RECALL WAS CONSIDERED COMPLETE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT, DUE TO THE RECALL BEING COMPLETED, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANOTHER RECALL REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,579. UPDATED 08/23/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED UPON ACCELERATING DOOR LOCKS WOULD CLICK OR LOCK. UPDATED 08/25/2017*JS.
I AM CONSTANTLY REPLACING, TAIL LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, THIRD BRAKE LIGHTS AND REVERSE LIGHTS! ALL THE LOCKS WHINE WHEN I PUT MY VEHICLE IN DRIVE. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD COST ME $1200.00 TO REPLACE THEM ALL ! I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY ALL NEED REPLACING! MY LAMP LIGHT IS OUT AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $180.00 TO FIX THAT! I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY BACK HATCH REPAINTED, AND NOW ABOVE MY WINDSHIELD AND GRILL NEED TO BE REPAINTED! WHATS GOING TO NEED REPAINTING NEXT?! I CAN NOT AFFORD TO HAVE MY CRV REPAINTED, AND IT IS EMBARRASSING! I HAND WASH MY CRV WITH SPECIAL CLOTHS! IF HONDA WANTS ME CONTINUE BUYING THEIR VEHICLES, THEY HAD BETTER DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!! I ONLY TAKE MY HONDA TO THE HONDA VEHICLE FOR ALL OIL CHANGES, TIRE ROTATION, BRAKES, ALL FLUID CHANGES, ALIGNMENTS, TIRES, LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT (OFTEN). YOU...
WHEN OPENING THE DOORS WITH REMOTE THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CLOSES BY ITSELF. ALSO WHEN SHIFTING GEARS THE SAME THING HAPPEN,(WITHOUT THE USE OF THE REMOTE).
POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR NOT WORKING. IT DOES NOT LOCK AT ALL.
WHEN UNLOCKING THE DOORS USING KEY BUTTON OR DRIVER DOOR BUTTON, A LONG WIRED SOUND IS COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ACTUATOR IS BROKEN AND TOLD THERE IS A RECALL OF THE ACTUATOR ONLY FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IS THERE ANY OPTION AVAILABLE FROM HONDA FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ACTUATOR FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR.
THE PAINT IS CHIPPING SIGNIFICANTLY ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, ABOVE THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP, AND ON THE GRILL. THE PAINT COLOR IS WHITE
THE TAILGATE AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL LOCK AND CANNOT BE UNLOCKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME IN NOVEMBER 2015 STAYED LOCKED FOR TWO DAYS. THE SECOND TIME WAS DECEMBER 19, 2015 AND STAYED LOCKED FOR FOUR HOURS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM AS BY THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT THE DOORS HAD UNLOCKED. THE AMERICAN HONDA CORP SAYS CAN ONLY BE FIXED IF ABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHILE LOCKED. THE LOCKING OF DOORS OCCURS WHEN STOPPING AND GETTING READY TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE. THE ACTUATOR OF THE DRIVERS DOOR AND PASSENGER DOOR HAVE BEEN CHANGED, ONE COVERED BY HONDA, MOST RECENT I HAD TO PAY. HONDA CORP DOES NOT HAVE INFO OF POSSIBLE PROBLEM FIXED ON OTHER VEHICLES SO I COULD TELL DEALERSHIP.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING I HIT AN 8 POINT BUCK. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT WE WERE SURPRISED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. IT WILL STICK IN THE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED POSITION. IF IT IS UNLOCKED, IT WILL REPEATEDLY TRY TO UNLOCK WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY, ALL DOORS UNLOCK EXCEPT THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. FROM LOOKING AT THE INTERNET, THERE LOOKS TO BE OTHER HONDA CRV OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ITSELF. IT TRIES TO RE-LOCK AND THEN OPENS. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS REPEATEDLY. I CANNOT LOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WITH THE ACTUATOR. THE REAR HATCHBACK DOOR ALSO WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN IT IS HOT (OVER 80 DEGREES). I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
PASSENGER FRONT DOOR DOES NOT STAY LOCK EVEN AT HIGH SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE DOOR ACTUATOR HAD FAILED DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIAL. THE DOOR ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
IT STARTED WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK. IT MAKES A WEIRD NOISE AND WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ON IT'S OWN. NOW AT LEAST 3 OF THE 4 DOORS ARE DOING THE SAME THING. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOSE THE OPPOSITE OF YOUR ACTION. IF YOU LOCK YOUR CAR IT UNLOCKS AND VISA VERSA SO THE ONE DOOR DOESN'T LOCK. *TR
THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS AS SOON AS IT IS UNLOCKED. IT WILL NOT STAY UNLOCKED AT ALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BUT THE DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD TO CLIMB INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE DOOR LOCKS ON MY 2008 HONDA CR-V ARE LOCKING CONSTANTLY AND DO NOT ALLOW ME TO UNLOCK THE CAR TO GET IN OR OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK CANNOT BE LOCKED. KEEP UNLOCKING BY ITSELF. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND SEEMS LIKE A VERY COMMON ISSUE ON 2007-2009 CRV. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP BEFORE ANYBODY GET HURTS. *TR
I HAVE THE 2008 CR-V. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO, ALL MY DOOR LOCKS STARTED AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THEMSELVES AT AROUND 9 OR 10 MILES PER HOUR. I'M AFRAID TO LET MY KIDS RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT NOW. WHAT IF ONE OF THEM DECIDED TO HANG ON TO THE DOOR HANDLE AND IT OPENED ACCIDENTALLY WHILE WE WERE MOVING? I HOPE HONDA GETS A HANDLE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUES A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
IN MARCH OF 2013 THE PASSENGER DOOR STARTED TO LOCK ITSELF IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING ME UNLOCKING IT. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FUSE PROBLEM. THEN ON MAY 26,2013 MY CHILD NOTICED THAT THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR HAD BEGUN TO DO THE SAME THING. TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON BOTH DOORS WOULD BE UPWARDS OF $440+. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH ALL CRVS AND A REAL SAFETY ISSUE FOR THOSE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. *TR
DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN PRESSING UNLOCK SWITCH ON DRIVER'S SIDE. *TR
CAN'T OPEN REAR HATCH. RIGHT REAR DOOR DOESN'T LOCK. SEARCH ONLINE REVEALED THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. WHILE IT MAY BE DEEMED AN INCONVENIENCE, THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH MAKE THIS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
WHEN BACKING OUT OF AN UNPAVED PARKING AREA I HIT A LARGE PONDEROSA PINE TREE WITH THE REAR BUMPER. THE BUMPER ABSORBED THE IMPACT WITH A SMALL SCRATCH TO THE BUMPER COVER. UPON IMPACT, THE CAR WAS NO LONGER IN MY CONTROL FOR IT LURCHED FORWARD ABOUT 40 FEET INTO THE PARKING SPACE I HAD LEFT AND HIT ANOTHER LARGE TREE WITH THE CENTER OF THE CAR. THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD SO QUICKLY I DO NOT RECALL WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COLLISION ALL FOUR WHEELS CONTINUED SPINNING AND DUG SMALL DEPRESSIONS IN THE DIRT UNTIL THE ENGINE STOPPED. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE AFTER BACKING INTO THE TREE. I SUFFERED BRUISED RIBS AND A SEVERE BURN TO MY HAND FROM THE AIRBAG. A SHERIFF ASSESSED THE ACCIDENT AND CALLED AN AMBULANCE TO ASSESS MY CONDITION AND I DID NOT REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE...
