We got notified of the recall by mail in early 2024. We called the Honda dealership in our locality, First Texas Honda (3400 Steck Ave, Austin, TX 78757) about it and they said the parts weren't available yet, and was estimated to be ready by Fall 2024. In July 2024, we were driving on a highway and the accelerator stalled as we reached 80 mph, with the check engine light flashing. Cars around us had to swoosh left and right to avoid colliding with our stalled car. By extreme luck we were able to use the car's momentum to safely exit the highway. Upon restarting the car, power was restored and the check engine light didn't illuminate again. There was slight shuddering in low gears. We made an appointment at the same First Texas Honda mentioned above to fix the problem, but after inspection they insisted that the problem was...

I own a 2018 Honda Civic. On August 4, 2025, I brought the vehicle to Honda of Greenbelt in Maryland for a fuel pump replacement required by a service recall. Immediately after this repair, the vehicle began producing a strong fuel odor, and after refueling, the smell persists for several days each time I add gas. This issue did not exist prior to the repair. I contacted American Honda customer service to request assistance and to ask whether I could have the vehicle serviced at a different Honda dealership, since the issue appears to have been caused by the original repair. A case manager was assigned, but despite multiple calls and several voicemails, I have received no response or follow-up. All responses from American Honda customer service have been generic email acknowledgments, and no substantive assistance or resolution has been provided despite my repeated attempts to contact the assigned case...

The recall for my 2018 Honda Civic EX-L (VIN: [XXX] ) was completed at the Honda service center in Santee. I have contacted both Honda corporate and the service center, and each time I was told the recall would be cleared, but it is still showing as *open* on the NHTSA site. Because of this, the car cannot pass the required Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection, blocking registration. The bank is holding loan funds for the sale and may cancel the loan due to the delay. I am requesting immediate action to have the recall status updated. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report an issue with a recall for my [Year, Make, Model, VIN]. The recall has been completed, and I have contacted both the Honda corporate office and the service center in [XXX] regarding the status. However, the recall is still not showing as completed on the NHTSA site. This delay is preventing the vehicle from passing the Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection, which is required to finalize registration. The bank is holding funds for the sale, and there is a risk that the loan may be canceled if the registration cannot be completed. I am requesting urgent assistance to ensure the recall status is updated so the vehicle can pass inspection and the transaction can proceed. I own a 2018 Honda Civic that is subject to an open fuel pump recall. My vehicle suddenly became completely inoperable. When attempting to start the car, all of the dashboard lights come on, but the engine will not start or crank. The vehicle has power but will not turn over at all. This failure happened without any prior warning. I contacted Nalley Honda in Union City, GA, and they confirmed that the issue is related to the fuel pump recall. However, they refused to provide towing for the vehicle and told me the earliest appointment available would be over a week out, despite the vehicle being undrivable due to this known safety defect. This situation puts my safety and my family’s safety at risk, as I am now stranded without reliable transportation because of a manufacturer defect. The problem has been acknowledged by the dealership but has not been...

Honda issued a recall for the fuel pump system. Initially, when the recall came out, I contacted them about the recall they stated that the parts were on back order and they had a waiting list of people who were supposed to be serviced first. It took about five months for the parts to come back into stock and another month for me to get an appointment. Now I’m continuing to have issues with my fuel line

There has been a recall for the fuel pump of my Year: 2018 Make: Honda Model: Civic Sedan, however I have continuously reached out to various Honda service and was told the part is still unable. Based on the recall information, If the fuel pump module is inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Does it take for an injury or death for me and my loved ones for me to finally get the part repaired at Honda's cost?

My car engine light has been on for months and im unable to get a inspection because of my fuel pump recall. My car has stalled multiple times on the road and is a cery serious safety issue. I have contacted honda multiple times about this and they keep saying they do not have the parts its been well over a year since i have received this recall notice and over 6-7 months since my engine light has been on. I have also received a letter from honda saying the parts are in stock and to call to make an appointment but when i do they still claim they do bot have the part in stock

Safety recall #23V-858 received through USPS indicating that parts are now available at dealership. Not true. On 12/04/24 vehicle was serviced at Conicelli Honda, 1200 Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428. 610-832-1400. Service advisor advised that the safety recall parts are not available for installation. On 12/05/24 a follow up call received from the service manager indicated that Conicelli Honda has not received any safety recall parts since the notice was announced. There appears to be a disconnect between Corporate Honda and the dealership. Your attention with this matter is greatly appreciated. It's been a year and my dealership still does not have the part needed to fix the issue from the recall on my vehicle. I do not feel safe operating my vehicle and this is my only means of transpiration. I rely on my car to get me to work and everywhere else.

I was informed of recall on my 2018 Honda Civic. I have called my local dealership - Lees Summit Honda, since receiving the recall notification. I was told there was a national shortage on parts and my vehicle could not be fixed and to call back next month. I have been calling monthly since receiving the recall notification. I just received an "Important Safety Recall" notice in the mail from Honda detailing the safety consequences of not repairing my vehicle and advising "parts are now available and you can bring your vehicle in for a free repair." I again called my local Honda dealership and was told the parts are not available. I advised that I have been experiencing an acceleration issue after slowing down, such as when I slow down to make a turn. I was told that I could bring my vehicle in for diagnostic but if it...

Received safety recall in mail for fuel pump module. Letter from 10/2024 says that "parts are now available and you can bring your vehicle in for a free repair." Called Honda Oakland to get part replaced. Honda Oakland worker Colin said letter is incorrect, that no parts are available and to wait for another letter in mail. Called San Leandro Oakland because thought that Colin's comment was strange. Letter already says "parts are now available." It wouldn't make sense for me to wait for another letter. Turns out Colin from Honda Oakland provided misinformation, which could have gotten me into a car accident waiting for another letter that would never come and waiting for months and months to get my fuel pump replaced. Thankfully, confirmed with San Leandro Oakland that parts are available and ok to take car in immediately. Honda Oakland needs to provide correct info to customers, and...

When I got the car, my insurance made me aware of the recall and I asked them if it was fixed they said yes but that was not the case, they straight lied to my face about something that could danger my life and the life of others

This was such a strange occurance. After pulling off from a stop sign attempting a right turn, my vehicle stalled, readjusted, then stalled again. I was driving on a cobblestone road while it was raining, but did not find any issues with vision or traction. However, during this process, my passenger airbag deployed out of nowhere causing me to immediately stop the car to see if I had hit something. There was nothing under or beside my car indicating any significant impact that would have caused this to happen. There were no other cars, or any pedestrians involved, nor any debris or blockade in the road so I did not file a police report or contact my insurace. My sister was in the passenger seat, and my 3 children in the back. No one sustained any injuries, but the entire incident was extremely startling, shocking, and confusing. There is no...

Honda is failing to resolve the safety recall on my 2018 Civic in a timely fashion. Despite notifying me in February 2024 of an issue related to a faulty fuel pump module, no dealership in my local area was able to make a replacement due to a lack of parts. I received a second notice in October 2024 that parts are now available, yet local dealerships are telling me that they either don't know when parts will be shipped out by Honda or that I'll have to wait until December. As mentioned in the recall, this can lead to various problems such as the engine not starting, vehicle stalling while driving, increased risk of crashing, and emission issues.

I received a Recall notice in the mail dated October 2024. The notice sent to inform me that these parts are now available and I can bring my vehicle in for a free repair. I scheduled my repair appointment on 11/08/2024 at 7am to John Hinderer Honda in Heath, OH 43056. When I arrived they told me they have not received any parts. They don’t know when they will receive them. The service department did acknowledge that they had some parts but were saving them for any breakdowns. I found this recall letter misleading. I have attached this letter to this complaint.

Several occasions between September, and now the car had difficulty starting. I towed it to two different Hondas, Bowie, darcas and Honda in Silver Spring and nobody was able to help me even though they claim to have done diagnostics on the car.

Engine began misfiring and would deliver inconsistent power. The fuel injector was faulty and leaked gas into the engine oil.

I called Honda as part of the recall issued on 12/13/2023. But they said they don't have the parts to honor my recall issue.

It has been 10 months since I was first notified of this fuel pump recall from Honda. The Honda dealership in Bel Air, Maryland still has not received the replacement parts from Honda to correct this problem. What is this delay? This is a serious problem and safety risk. I drive 500 miles a week.
#11619674 |
Replacement for fuel pump unavailable. Issue not able to be resolved timely. I'm on a waitlist for the replacement part indefinitely (coming up on 1 year since recall was announced).

After the recent fuel pump recall repair, there has been a smell of gasoline for about a month, bad enough that it seems unsafe to keep the car in the garage. (There is no smell of gasoline inside the car.) Fuel mileage has consistently been about 2 mpg lower. The problem is especially bad after refueling, and gradually gets better as the tank empties. The problem returns with the next refueling. There seem to be many cars in the same situation. There is inadequate work dealing with this recall, and dealers are not fixing what they broke, despite the hazard.

My 2018 Honda Civic is presenting with issues related to another safety recall, but my Vin doesn't come up for that recall. I got diagnostics done for this issue at a Honda certified dealership, the wanted over $5600 to repair the safety recall issue because my Vin doesn't come up for that specific recall- only one of the safety recalls, which they do not have parts for. I got a second opinion with another mechanic who confirmed that what's going on with my car is a recall safety issue on Honda's part, not my own. My car is not safe to drive due to a rack and pinion safety issue and a fuel pump issue and the safety issues have gotten worse. Others and my own safety is put at risk because the car doesn't have a lot of power to maneuver the vehicle safely as well as the steering...

Honda issues a recall on my vehicle in Feb 2024, for months they keep telling me they do not have the parts. I had to move back to Canada and now I can't register the vehicle in Canada because it has an open recall that they can not fix until end of this year or start of 2025.

Vehicle is stalling and not moving forward when pressing accelerator, resulting in almost getting hit at intersection on [XXX] in Ogden Utah at intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] [XXX] When starting vehicle, the engine turns over and won't start for several attempts and then randomly starts when tapping accelerator. I believe my vehicle has a bad Fuel Pump and needs to be replaced in accordance with NHTSA 23V-858. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was stranded on the road after filling up gas my car would not start due to the fuel pump recall I tried calling different Honda dealerships for the recall and they all said they didn’t have it due to back order. Is there something that can be done so my car doesn’t have anymore damage then it does now?

Multiple misfires and rich fuel codes. Car losses acceleration at high speeds creating safety issue. Faulty fuel injectors. No current recall. Vehicle goes into limp mode.

I have scheduled and attended several appointments to have my fuel pump replaced as per the recall. The only dealership that is within 20 miles of my home (El Paso Honda 1490 Lee Trevino, 79936) keeps refusing to do the replacement. I have expressed that my engine is losing power when going uphill and when driving on I-10. They refuse because the check engine light isn't on. This recall has been in effect since last year and the dealership keeps blaming Honda stating they cannot order the part unless the check engine light is on.

I have a recall for the fuel pump and the dealership is refusing to do the repair , it’s been 6 months
#11591842 |
I believe the dealer/manufacturer has failed to remedy the fuel pump module improperly molded impeller in a timely manner. On [XXX] and [XXX] I had incidents of my vehicle's engine being prevented from starting. An independent mechanic stated that this was likely related to my vehicle's fuel pump recall. I contacted Honda customer service shortly after the [XXX] incident by telephone and I was told that unless a Honda mechanic diagnosed my issue as definitively related to the fuel pump, there was no recourse to expedite the repair. I was not assured that there would be no diagnostic charge associated with the inspection by a Honda repair person. Following the [XXX] incident, I contacted Nucar Honda in Norwood, MA to attempt to expedite the repair for my vehicle. I was told to bring in the vehicle several days later. The week of April 16 I brought the vehicle in and...

I was first informed that there was a recall (23V-858) on my 2018 Honda Civic for a fuel pump module back in December 2023. When no information came from Honda as to when the dangerous problem would be repaired, I was informed by the dealership that the repairs could start as early as April of 2024. It is now the end of May and there still no word on when the Honda dealer will have the parts to repair the defect. It has been 6 months since the recall with no further information nor cooperation from Honda on when this issue will be resolved.

This is in regards to the open recall on my vehicle. The dealership is not able to perform the repair because they say they do not have enough replacement parts from Honda. They're only accepting customers who are experiencing a problem to do the repairs. This is unacceptable for a recall. I shouldn't have to wait til my car breaks, and potentially crash, in order to get a recall issue repaired. The recall number is NHTSA#: 23V-858 MFR#: MGL / 23V-858

vehicle has stalled or almost stalled several times. Twice almost resulting in what could have been a fatal accident. we received the recall letter a few months ago and have waited for the repair. last week received another letter basically stating the same thing with no timeline or actual schedule at all in sight. have called the dealerships and they have no information (actually wanted me to bring in the car for a "diagnosis" at a cost to me to tell me what we all already know....ridiculous. How do I get this fixed before it turns into something fatal? in the meantime no offer of replacement or rental vehicle is out there. How do we get this expedited? already several months have passed with no solution. Help

I was first informed that there was a recall on my 2018 Honda Civic for a fuel system problem back in December 2023. When no information came from Honda USA as to when the dangerous problem would be repaired, I was told by the dealership that the repair would be completed at the latest by April. It is now the end of May and there still no word on when the Honda dealer will have the parts to repair the defect. The contact stated Honda finally fixed the 2018 Civic's faulty fuel pump.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000(Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts for the recall are not yet unavailable. The dealer nor the manufacturer have yet to be notified about the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The contact had yet to be experience a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not yet available.

My vehicle will no longer start and after inspection from a mechanic, it was determined that the fuel pump was the cause. There was no indication of any issue besides not starting. I am now being told by my local dealership that they will not have replacement parts until the fall and they are unable to provide a loaner during this time, leaving me without a vehicle for an unknown amount of time.

Fuel injectors are failing in my 2018 Honda civic si, causing my short term fuel trim to set at -25 triggering check engine light. This disables multiple functions of the car. And looking for parts a found out that fuel injectors are out of stock.

Contacted Honda Corporate multiple times including the dealer , no remedy to ensure the safety of my vehicle which is at risk of stalling during operation related to national recall of fuel pump indicating the vehicle is unsafe to operate. Case manager from Honda Corporate uninformed, disengaged and rude. No transportation accommodations, no call or follow ups . Dealer not available to provide inspection or repairs. Vehicle is unsafe to operate leaving my family abandoned with no options in a vehicle I am making payments on.

Car has been triggering engine code P0172, P219D, related to fuel mix being too rich in the cylinders. When I went to order fuel injectors for the vehicle to replace, they are backordered with no date or new part number provided.

Regarding NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858, Honda campaign KGC, Service Bulletin 23-103, the recall notice indicates an increased likelihood of a failed fuel pump while driving, "increasing the risk of a crash or injury". The notice goes on to say "The replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle are not currently available but are expected to be available in the fall of 2024". So, it is possible that this vehicle will remain unrepaired until near the end of 2024, more than 9 months from now. Given the safety concern, how is this acceptable?
#11571763 |
In regards to NHTSA Recall number 23V-858, Honda campaign KGC, service bulletin 23-103, the notice states the vehicle could "lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury." It goes on to state "The replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle are not currently available but are expected to become available in the fall of 2024." Considering the apparent substantial safety risk, how is it acceptable that a repair is delayed by up to 9 months?

Dealer canceled twice Morehead Honda did little to fix my problem. They asked me to call parts department daily to check if correct part came in. Poor customer service and terrible communication.

I was driving from work, when pressing the gas pedal would not accelerate the vehicle. I was passing over a bridge when the problem occurred. It was in heavy traffic and near a onramp for a busy interstate. I arrived at a stop light before the onramp, and different warning lights on my dash lit up. There were no warning lights on prior to this moment. I tried starting the car again with my hazard lights on, but it would not "turn over". I assumed that either my battery/alternator was having problems or the engine was not receiving fuel to start. Traffic was too heavy for me to get out of my car and thankfully, no one hit me or my car. After trying to jump the car, I had it towed to a small mechanic recommended to me that night. The next morning, I was informed that the codes...
