REAR AXLE BROKE WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY PULLING INTO OUR DRIVEWAY ON STREET.
THE REAR AXLE SPLIT/BROKE WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH TURNING ONTO A STREET. BOTH WHEELS ARE NOW RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME.
GOOD DAY, I WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD GOING 40 MPH WHEN MY REAR AXLE CRACKED AND MY REAR WHEELS CAVED IN. I HAD MY WIFE AND KIDS IN THE VAN WITH ME ON THE WAY TO WORK. IT WAS AROUND 5:45 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. IS THERE'S A WAY I COULD GET HELP??
REAR AXLE IS CRACKED AFTER BRACKETS WERE PUT ON DUE TO RECALL. WE NOTICED THIS IS AN OLD CRACK AND SAW IT WHILE CHECKING FOR THE CAUSE OF A RATTLE NOISE. WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE CRACK OCCURRED BUT THE RECALL BRACKETS WERE PUT ON SEVERAL YEARS AGO BY KELLER BROS. FORD LEBANON, PA. THEY REINSPECTED THE BRACKETS AND SAID THEY WERE PUT ON CORRECTLY. IF THAT'S THE CASE; WHY DID THE AXLE CRACK? WHY WON'T FORD PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED IF IT'S KNOWN TO HAVE A PROBLEM CRACKING?
OVER DRIVE FLASHING OFF AND ON WILL NOT GO OFF. FUSES BLOW OUT RIGHT AFTER YOU START UP THE VAN. IT STARTED WHEN I MADE A TURN AT A GREEN LIGHT. ON THE BACK ROADS.
TAKATA INFLATORS;I FORD DENYING MY REQUEST F VIN #[XXX] I HAVE AN OBVIOUS CRACK (SEE PHOTOS) DIRECTLY UNDER THE BRACKET A BAND-AID THAT FORD ISSUED IN AN EARLIER RECALL ON MY REAR AXLE WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS BAND-AID TO PREVENT SUCH CRACKING. APPARENTLY MY BRACKET PART WAS DEEMED INSTALLED CORRECTLY, EFFECTIVELY CAUSING A DENIAL FOR A REPLACEMENT PART ON MY WINDSTAR. CLEARLY THIS BRACKET FAILED AND DID NOT STOP MY REAR AXLE FROM EXPERIENCING CRACKING! FORD CLEARLY NEW EXACTLY WHERE THIS CRACKING WOULD OCCUR BECAUSE THE CRACK APPEARS DIRECTLY UNDER THE BRACKET INSTALLED TO CREATE A STRONGER PART. THE ONLY THING HOLDING THIS REAR AXLE TOGETHER IS THIS BRACKET. THIS PARTICULAR PART IN QUESTION IS DIRECTLY BELOW THE GAS TANK, SHOULD THIS CRUCIAL PART EXPERIENCE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY WHAT WOULD HAPPEN? TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR BRAKE EXAMINATION (ABS LIGHT CAME ON) AND SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD THAT THERE WERE CORROSION HOLES IN REAR AXLE AND IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!!! SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY FORD AND REPAIRED AT THEIR EXPENCE AS I WAS TOLD IT HAS BEEN DANGEROUS TO DRIVE FOR SOME TIME...
YES I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE REAR AXLE THEY SAID I DONT HAVE A RECALL ON MY VAN BUT MY REAR AXLE JUST SPLIT

RE: NFTSA SAFETY RECALL 15V-608 WE HAD TO PAY FORD $300 OR ELSE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO PERFORM THE RECALL WORK. WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING AT ALL FOR A RECALL WHICH IS A FAULT OF FORD AND NOT US AT THE OWNER? WE ARE NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS SITUATION BUT FELT FORCED TO PAY FOR THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THIS VEHICLE.
9-10-2015 AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPT'S TO RESOLVE RECALL I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON RITCHIE HWY AND THE REAR AXILE WHICH WAS ONE OF THE MANY RECALLS MADE ME LOOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND ONCE I GAINED CONTROL CAR WAS DRIVIN TO NEAR SUPERMARKET PARKING LOT AND DRIVER'S SIDE AXILE BROKE AND CAR WAS DISABLED I LATER MADE IT TO WORK AND WAS TAKEN VIA AMBULANCE TO HOSPITAL ONSET PANIC ATTACK. CONTACTED CAR INS AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SINCE 9-10-15 I WAS GIVEN CASE# CAS7858636 NOT UNTIL 9/2016 I CONTACTED FORD AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS WITHIN 1 YR PERIOD SPOKE TO CHRISTIE AND SHE EXPLAINED ME THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FAILED TO CONTACT ME "SORRY" THEN SHE CONTACTED FORD BOB BELL SERVICE STATION AND I TOWED CAR AGAIN WITH MY MONEY. AND HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM I ALMOST DIED IN THIS CAR AND NO ONE HAS MADE MY EXPERIENCE GOOD I...
THE AIR FLOW FROM AIR CONDITION STOPS PLWING WHE THE VEHICLE REACHS THE SPEED OF 40 MILES IN MOTION
I RECENTLY HAD MY WINDSTAR FRONT END WORKED ON BY A LOCAL FORD DEALER, WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL RECALL ISSUES. THEY DID A CRAPPY JOB OF THAT AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS SITTING MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE AXLE SNAPPED IN HALF. HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOME WHEN IT BROKE ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE AND WE WERE VERY LUCKY NO-ONE GOT HURT.
BETWEEN MY MARCH 2015 OIL CHANGE AND MY JULY 30 2015 OIL CHANGE THE CONTROL ARMS BROKE AND COMPLETELY RUINED A TIRE ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TIRE. CHEWED IT UP VERY BADLY PUTTING ME AT RISK FOR AN ACCIDENT FROM A BLOW OUT OR LOSS OF CONTROL. I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND BY THE SHOP AT THE OIL CHANGE. I AM FINDING ONLINE WHERE THERE IS MUCH CONCERN ABOUT THE CONTROL ARMS ON THESE VEHICLES. BOTH FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED BY THE SHOP. THE BROUGHT ONE OF THE TIRES INTO THE LOBBY FOR ME TO SEE AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY CHEWED UP ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TIRE. IT IS A WONDER I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN MY GAUGES STARTED TO BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH LIKE CRAZY UNTIL 1 OF THEM BROKE OFF. I MANAGE TO FIX THE BROKEN GAUGE AND THEN ABOUT 5 DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I MANGED TO FIX IT ONCE AGAIN AND NOW IT'S DOING IT MORE OFTEN. I'VE HAD THE ALTANATOR CHECKED, BATTERY CHECKED, AND I'VE HAD THE CODES PULLED ON IT AND THERE IS NO CODES ON IT.
THE REAR AXLE BROKE WHEN OUR DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT. WHEN SHE GOT HOME SHE TOLD US THAT THE VAN WAS NOT HANDLING WELL AT ALL. IT TURNS OUT THE REAR AXLE HAD CRACKED WHICH CAUSED THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WHEEL TO PUSH UP INTO THE WHEEL HOUSING AND START RUBBING AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED NEAR OUR HOME AND SHE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH FURTHER TO GO AS IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO HANDLE. ALSO LUCKY THE SPEED WAS ONLY ABOUT 30 MPH, BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE IT WOULD HAVE MADE IT SAFELY HOME IF IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGHER SPEED. OUR VAN WAS PART OF A RECALL THAT WAS DONE IN 2011 WHERE THEY INSTALLED BRACKETS/CLAMPS INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE REAR AXLE. THE BREAK HAS OCCURRED RIGHT UNDER THE CLAMPING BRACKET. IT ALSO APPEARS TO BE CRACKED ON THE REAR PASSENGER...
AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION GETTING ONTO A HIGHWAY OUR SUBFRAME GAVE OUT AND WE CAME TO A SCREECHING HALT & A DEAD STOP. THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME UNDER THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE VAN ROTTED AND THE WHEEL WAS UP AGAINST THE FRAME OF THE CAR. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. IT COST US $1,500.00. *TT
I WAS TURNING A CORNER AND HEARD A LOUD BAG, AS IF METAL HAS SNAPPED. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY FORD DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE FONT SUBFRAME WHERE THE SWAY BAR WAS ATTACHED HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND THAT THE SWAY BAR WAS NOW NOT ATTACHED TO THE SUBFRAME AND WAS BANGING. FORD HAS FIXED THE FRAME ON TWO DIFFERENT RUST RECALLS UNDER "RECALL 11S16", BUT SAID THIS WAS NOT COVERED AND WOULD COST $2085.75 FOR THE SUBFRAME PLUS LABOR AND HARDWARE. I ASKED IF THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND RECEIVED A NON SPECIFIC ANSWER! IF FORD WINDSTAR HAS THIS MUCH PROBLEM WITH THERE FRAME RUSTING WHY IS THIS NOT COVERED??
WHEN I STARTED MY MINIVAN IT WAS AN AFTERNOON. I NOTICED THAT WHEN I STARTED DRIVING THE MINIVAN IT WAS LIKE FORCING IT SELF THEN I WOULD CHANGE THE SPEED AND IT WOULD SOUND DIFFERENT BUT IT FELT LIKE IT WAS HEAVY, I WOULD CHANGE IT TO N AND IT STILL MAKE THIS SOUND LIKE IF I WAS DRIVING ON A WET HIGHWAY AND ENGINE WAS STILL LOUD. WHEN I WOULD SPEED MORE THAN 30 MPH IT JUST WOULDN'T RESPOND AS IT DID BEFORE. I PURCHASED THIS MINIVAN NOT TO LONG AGO -I WOULD SAY CLOSE TO A MONTH-. WHEN TAKING IT FOR A TEST DRIVE EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD, SOUNDED OK -OTHER THAN THE SHOCKS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED- AND NO LIGHTS WERE ON. BUT AFTER TWO DAYS HAD GONE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID THAT THE ABS LIGHT WOULD "SOMETIMES" TURN ON AND WOULD TURN OFF ON ITS...
I WAS DRIVING MY VAN DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT THIRTY FIVE. HEARD A LOUD THUNK AND REALIZED I WAS NOT ACCELERATING ANYMORE. THE VAN STOPPED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER. CALLED A TOW TRUCK BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER EVALUATING THE DAMAGE WE REALIZED THAT THE FRAME HAD BROKEN WHERE THE WHEEL STABILIZER ARM MOUNTS TO THE FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ALSO MY PASSENGER DRIVE SHAFT PULLED OUT FROM THE TRANSMISSION. SO IN THIS REPAIR IT IS GOING TO TAKE A SUB FRAME. AND THE HALF SHAFTS FROM TRANSMISSION TO WHEEL.

ON TWO OCCASIONS WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE OUR AXEL REPLACED. THIS HAPPENED 6/18/2009 AND 7/13/2010. THE MILEAGE WAS 156,000 AND 171,210 RESPECTIVELY. THE AMOUNT WITH TOWING CAME TO $1,473.37. REIMBURSEMENT CHECK CAME 1/29/2011 FOR $978.80 WITH NO EXPLANTION REGARDING THE DIFFERENCE AND BOTH RECEIPTS RETURNED. BROUGHT WINDSTAR TO SCHULTZ FORD IN NANUET, NY AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO CRACKS IN THE AXEL AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN REPLACEMENT PART WAS IN. THIS WAS OCTOBER. IT IS NOW GOING TO BE FEBRUARY AND STILL NO PARTS AT THE SCHULTZ FORD IN NANUET TO ENSURE THIS AXEL DOESN'T CRACK. PLEASE HELP. IT SEEMS AS IF THEY ARE DELAYING HOPING YOUR CAR WILL NO LONGER BE IN SERVICE TO REQUIRE THIS RECALL. HOW VERY DANGEROUS TO PLACE MONEY OVER SAFETY.
BROUGHT MY VAN IN FOR RECALL FOR REAR AXLE. DEALER SHOWED ME HOW FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME HAD RUSTED TO A POINT WHERE IT IS NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM IF I WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME. I KNOW FORD IS NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION WITH THE SAME VANS AND WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW I HAVE ONE. THE UNDERSIDE OF MY VAN IS NEARLY RUST FREE EXCEPT FOR THE SUBFRAME MOUNTING POINT ONLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

POWER REAR SLIDING DOORS. WILL OPEN WHEN DRIVING!!! HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACK AND THEY HAVE POPPED OPEN AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHO CLEANED TRACKS THAT DOORS RUN ON. FIXED ISSUE FOR TWO (2) DAYS THEN ISSUES RETURNED. FORD CLAIMS IT IS REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR, BUT THE MECHANIC SAYS THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH VEHICLE PARTS...IT'S THE EXPOSED TRACK GETTING DIRTY THAT CAN CAUSE THIS ISSUE!!!
VEHICLE WAS PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN WHEN THERE WAS A LOUD THUNK. THE ENGINE RAN AWAY, THE STEERING BECAME UNRESPONSIVE, AND THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE WAS HEADED UPHILL AND BEACHED ITSELF ON A SNOW DRIFT ON THE SIDEWALK. BOTH REAR ATTACHMENT POINTS FOR THE ENGINE SUBFRAME HAD RUSTED OUT AND GIVEN WAY. THE ENGINE DROPPED UNTIL IT WAS SUPPORTED BY THE REMAINDER OF THE FRAME AND EXHAUST SYSTEM DRAGGING THE ROAD. IF THIS HAD NOT HAPPENED AT SUCH A LOW SPEED, THIS COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN A DEADLY FAILURE. AS A LONG TIME ENGINEER IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY, I FIND THIS TYPE OF FAILURE WITHIN THE SERVICE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE TO BE TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE. THIS FORM DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A LISTING FOR A FRAME FAILURE. ON A FINAL NOTE, I CALLED FORD ABOUT THIS FAILURE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT...
ON NOVEMBER 2ND OF 2010, I WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STEERING PROPERLY AND THE WHEEL WAS NOT ALIENED AS IT SHOULD BE, I THEN GOT UNDER THE VEHICLE AS I WAS REPLACING AN O2 SENSOR AND NOTICED THE EXTENSIVE CORROSION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SUB FRAME, I TOOK A PHOTO OF IT AND SHOWED MY HUSBAND, HE SAID IN NO WAY TO DRIVE THAT VEHICLE. I HAD IT TOWED. THE SUB FRAME WAS SO CORRODED BY NOT DRIVING IN MY OPINION SAVED MY 83 YEAR OLD MOMS LIFE, AND MINE. THE DRIVERS SIDE IS ALMOST AS BAD, I HAVE PHOTOS AND THE REPAIR SLIP COST ME 324.00 TO WELD TO SAFETY. THIS OBVIOUSLY IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I TOOK OVER THIS VEHICLE NOVEMBER 30TH OF 2010, MY MOM OWED IT IN NEW YORK SINCE 2003.
I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC IN OCTOBER 2010 THAT I HAVE A CRACK IN THE FRONT SUBFRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING AND TURNED INTO A PARKING LOT AND HEARD A THUMP, ORIGINALLY I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE RAN OVER SOMETHING. THE NOISE CONTINUED WHEN TURNING AS I DROVE HOME. ON DECEMBER 27, 2010 OUR VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THE REAR AXLE RECALL AND TO DIAGNOSE THE THUMP NOISE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. WE WERE TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP MECHANIC THAT THE SUB FRAME FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ... $1900 SERVICE ESTIMATE!!

HOWEVER, DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF RECALLS, DEALERS ARE ONLY SERVICING VEHICLES THAT WERE PURCHASED AT THEIR DEALERSHIP. FRONT SUBFRAME RUSTED ON PASSENGER SIDE AT LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHMENT POINT. REAR SIDE OF ATTACHMENT POINT IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AWAY. FRONT SIDE OF ATTACHMENT POINT IS STILL INTACT BUT IS RUSTED AND CRACKED. VEHICLE IS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. PHOTOGRAPHS CAN BE SUBMITTED IF REQUIRED.

FORD WINDSTAR 2001 - PROBLEMS WITH ABS/BRAKE LIGHT: COMING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES IT WILL STAY ON FOR A LONG TIME, THEN GOES OFF. THEN WILL COME BACK. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD WINDSTAR. OCCASIONALLY, THE CONTACT HAS TO SPEND TIME MANEUVERING THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A RELATED SAFETY RECALL; HOWEVER, IT WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE WITH THE FIRST OWNER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 129,500 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000. UPDATED 06/25/08 *CN THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO WITHDRAW HIS COMPLAINT, SINCE THE DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS ORIGINATING FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THE RECALL PROBLEM WAS NOT THE ISSUE. UPDATED 06/25/08
BOUGHT THE USED VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR DEALER. DIDN'T CHECK FOR PAINT PEELING OR RUST, THOUGHT A 2 YEAR OLD CAR WOULDN'T HAVE ANY. I WASHED THE CAR, AND AS I WAXED IT, DISCOVERED THE PEELING PAINT ON THE ROOF RIB, ALMOST ENTIRE LENGHTH OF VEHICLE, THEN FOUND RUST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR. CONTACTED FORD, INSTRUCTED ME TO GO TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP, WENT TO GERVAIS FORD IN AYER MA. SERVICE MANAGER LOOKED OVER THE CAR, MADE NOTES, INFORMED ME HE WOULD CONTACT FORD HEADQUARTERS TO SEE IF THEY WILL DO ANYTHING. TWO WEEKS LATER, HE CONTACTED ME AND INFORMED ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO REGARDING THE PAINT OR THE DOORS RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
"CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" - FORD VEHICLES HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I HAD A 95 FORD AEROSTAR, 95 WINDSTAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OCCATIONALLY TURNED ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE IT'S ONLY FOR THE EMMISION SYSTEM. I HAVE A 2001 WINDSTAR AND 2002 EXPLORER SPORT TRACT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM - THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY WIFE BROUGHT THE WINDSTAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL CAP NOT PROPERLLY CLOSED, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANICS. CAN THE MANUFACTURER MAKE A DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHT RATHER THAN CONFUSING THE DRIVER WITH AN ENGINE PROBLEM? *AK

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD THE VAN IN BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A FAULTY SENSOR BUT NOW THEY SAY IT IS A CRACKED SEAL IN THE FUEL TANK. WHEN I ASKED THE PART'S GUY WHEN I COULD EXPECT THE PART IN HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A "NATIONAL BACKORDER" ON THE FUEL TANK BECAUSE FORD HAS HAD TO REPLACE A LOT OF THEM.

CONSUMER STATED ARM REST ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS BROKEN, CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK CLUNK NOISE IN FRONT END WHILE TURNING OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, CAN ALSO BE FELT WITH VIBRATION, PASSENGER SIDE DASH AREA HANGING. BOTH SLIDING DOOR RUBBER STOPS MISSING, DRIVERSIDE SLIDING DOOR STOP REPLACED. GRINDING NOISE IN REAR WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. WHEN HEAT IS ON VENT SMELLS LIKE SOMETHING IS BURNING. THIS VEHICLE WAS SERVICED ON 7/12 AND ON THE WAY HOME THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR CORRECTION. FINALLY DETERMINED THAT A CERAMIC PLUG AT THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK HAD CRACKED. NEEDED TO REPLACE ENTIRE TANK AND IT WAS. TWO WEEKS LATER DRIVING AND A BIG TIME GAS LEAK DEVELOPED-FIRE DEPT CALLED AND VEHICLE TOWED FOR REPAIR. FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT WE WERE LUCKY THAT THERE WAS NOT A FIRE AND ENSUING EXPLOSION. THERE WAS ANOTHER WINDSTAR AT THE DEALER AT THE SAME TIME WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
