there was a recall for my airbag in may of 2015, i purchased the vehicle in june of 2015. in october of 2015 i was involved in a serious MVA. my airbag did not deploy properly and the metal shards cut my face open. along with the faulty airbag my seatbelt did not lock up properly and i was almost ejected out of the vehicle. i started receiving mail and phone calls about fixing my faulty airbag in january of 2016. i had no idea there was even a recall for my vehicle until after my accident.

The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's son was knocked unconscious and taken to the local hospital. The contact's son was treated for a head contusion and bruising to his chest and abdomen. The other driving was taken to the hospital in critical condition; however, his injuries were unknown. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they offered no assistance. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASH INTO A CONCRETE WALL. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS THE CONTACTS DAUGHTER. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED AN INJURED RIGHT ARM WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE DESTROYED VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (UNKNOWN) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

GALLAGHER FORD (4613, 650 30TH ST, ELKO, NV 89801) PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIR ON FEBRUARY 15, 2019; HOWEVER, THEY USED A FAULTY COMPONENT THAT CAUSED THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE EVER SINCE AND WAS AWAITING THE PARTS TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I HAD BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS REPLACED AT BOB SWOPE FORD IN ELIZABETHTOWN, KY 42701. THE LAST ONE BEING DONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN MARCH 2019. I HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE NOTIFICATIONS THAT SAY I HAVEN'T HAD IT DONE. I CALLED BOB SWOPE FORD AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT HAS BEEN DONE AND THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE BEEN TELEPHONED AND I HAVE TOLD THEM WHERE I HAD IT DONE AND I AM STILL GETTING NOTIFICATIONS. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE?
LAKEWOOD FORD REPLACED MY RECALLED AIRBAG WITH A NEWER RECALLED AIRBAG. I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT, MAY 11, 2018 ON FAIRBANKS & TST, 0600AM, THIS AIRBAG OVER EXPLODED, AND BURNS. I HAVE SERIOUS INJURIES FROM THIS AIRBAG. MY HANDS WERE BURNED, LEFT WRIST BROKEN, ALL FINGERS,WRISTS SPRAINED & BURNED, STILL SOAR. TBI, 2+YEARS TO HEAL. BURNED THROUGH MY COAT, CLOTHES AND BRAZIER, BURNING MY BREASTS. MY INJURIES ARE TOO MANY TO LIST, INCLUDING PTSD, SEVERELY. TAKATA RECALL BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS DISSOLVING ITSELF OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY AFTER SENDING A LETTER OUT THAT STATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. HOWEVER AFTER NOTIFYING DEALER OF LETTER FROM FORD OVER THREE WEEKS AGO AND HEARING NOTHING, CALL FORD WHOSE REPRESENTATIVE SAYS IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO GET DEALER TO GET THE PART AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. SINCE CALLING THE DEALER OVER 3 WEEKS AGO WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE NO ACTION WHAT AM I TO DO NEXT. IN JUNE 2018 I CALLED SAM GALLOWAY FORD IN FT. MYERS, FL AND THEY TOOK MY INFORMATION AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THEY HAD PARTS. AS OF NOVEMBER 1 2018 I HAVE NOT GOT A RESPONSE FROM THEM. WAITED OVER AN HOUR TO BE INFORMED THAT THE PART WASN'T IN THE SHOP AND THEY WOULD CALL WHEN IT WAS. I HAVE NOW CALLED TO GET BOTH AIRBAGS REPAIRED AS EACH TIME I TAKE OFF I LOSE PAY. ARE YOU GOING TO PAY FOR MY TIME OFF OR A RENTAL CAR? THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT NOR DID IT CONTACT ANY OBJECT, VEHICLE OR OTHERWISE. I WAS SIMPLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT THE POSTED SPEED, UNDER DRY CONDITIONS, ON A STRAIGHT ASPHALT 2 LANE PUBLIC ROAD WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THE FORD DEALER INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WOULD SERVICE IT BY REPLACING THE AIRBAG AND DEFECTIVE INFLATOR, WHEREBY THE INFLATOR IS UNDER A RECALL. AFTER DROPPING OFF MY VEHICLE I WAS CONTACTED BY THE DEALER TO TELL ME FORD MOTOR COMPANY WOULD NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THE AIRBAG MODULE; AND IT WAS MY (THE CONSUMER) RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG MODULE.
I AM REPORTING SHIMMY IN FRONT DUE TO STRUTS. I RESEARCHED AND NOTICED THE STRUTS ARE BEING RECALLED AND REPLACED FOR THIS MODEL OF FORD MUSTANG. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THESE FRONT STRUTS REPLACED UNDER THE NHTSA RECAL, ALONG WITH A PASSENGER REAR TIRE MONITOR. I CAN NOT GET THE TIRE MONITOR LIGHT TO GO OFF. MY CELL NUMBER IS (XXXXX). OVER A PERIOD OF 17 MONTHS, I HAVE NOTICED RESPONSES THAT INDICATE THE DEALER IS EITHER OVERWHELMED WITH THESE INQUIRIES, IS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING PARTS TO SATISFY THE GOVERNMENT'S RECALL, OR IS OTHERWISE UNWILLING OR UNABLE TO PERFORM THEM. IT HAS BEEN 17 MONTHS SINCE I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT APPLYING THIS RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 25 MONTHS SINCE RECALL 16V384 WAS ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT. DEALER WAS CONTACTED FOR REPLACEMENT OF PASSENGER AIRBAG. DEALER ESTIMATES IT WILL BE AT LEAST 6 MONTHS UNTIL THE REPAIR CAN BE MADE. FORD IS PROVIDING A RENTAL VEHICLE, BUT DRIVER MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD OR 18 YEARS OLD WITH A WAIVER. PROBLEM: MY DAUGHTER IS 17 AND 6+ MONTH WAITING PERIOD IS UNACCEPTABLE.
FORD CONTINUES TO MAIL MY RECALL NOTICES TO AN ADDRESS THAT I HAVE NEVER LIVED AT. THIS IS MY 2ND COMPLAINT TO YOU ABOUT THIS MATTER. I WAS INFORMED VIA LETTER DATED MARCH 2018 BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY, DEARBORN, MI THAT THE PARTS FOR RECALL 16S26 WERE NOW AVAILABLE AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS AUTHORIZED MY DEALER TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, I CALLED RIGHT AWAY AND AGAIN TODAY JUNE 8,2018 AND AM TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE TO TAKE MY NAME OR ANY INFO TO CALL ME, TIRED OF WAITING,
